Chapter 11 – The Wizengamot
Felix awoke the next morning early. Tome was stood at the end of his bed holding the robes for him to wear to the ministry of magic. Today was the day Dumbledore was going to be put up before the Wizengamot for the crimes he's committed. His father had managed to add on to the charges of child abuse against Harry Potter. Felix sat up and looked at his godfather. "You are to wear these today Felix. Make sure you look tidy and please remember who your family are. I know you are more like your mother than your father but please take a leap out of your brothers' book and act like a Malfoy." Felix looked at his godfather and laughed loud. Tom looked down at the laughing boy with a look of confusion. "What's so funny Felix?" Without answering Felix just pointed at the man's lower regions. What Tom didn't realise was he'd forgotten to put his trousers on and was currently stood at the end of the child's bed in a full set of dress robes minus the trousers. "I'm not used to this early morning thing."
Felix showered and dressed himself before heading down to breakfast. "Morning Felix sweetheart." Narcissa called. His mother was dressed in her smartest dress robes with her hair styled mush the way that it was when she was at Hogwarts. "Now eat up quick mister. We have to meet your father at the ministry at eight thirty." Felix served himself some breakfast and sat down next to Tom, who was now wearing some trousers and looked incredibly smart. "You look very handsome Felix. Glad to see my taste in fashion is still second to none." Before the blonde could answer his eyes shot to the door as Seamus walked in also looking impeccable. "Seamus dear how did you sleep?"
Breakfast was a fast-paced event that morning as they had places to be. Now standing in the living room the family got ready by the fireplace to floo to the Ministry. "Now I shall go first, followed by you Felix, then Seamus and finally Tom you could follow. Hopefully we will all end up at the same fireplace. Make sure you keep close to each other. It's very easy to get lost in the ministry." And without a further word Narcissa walked very elegantly through the floo. "See you on the other side." Felix said giving Seamus a tight hug.
Felix landed on his back in a very grand hall. "Felix dear you really must work on the landing from the floo. It's very unbecoming to land on your bottom every time." Before he could answer his mother, he was pushed back down and met with the blue eyes of Seamus, who was looking down at him holding back a smile. "Seamus please get off my godson. I'm pretty sure that affection is not allowed in the halls of the ministry." Tom called as he himself walked out of the floo system.
The group walked in tow with each other through the long hallway that had fireplaces lining both sides all surrounded with the shiniest black tiles. There were herds of witches and wizards piling into the ministry all heading through the security section and into a large open area. There were windows of offices up one side and a very large window cascading light over a beautiful fountain that had many many galleons in the bottom of it. Upon stopping at the security counter Felix caught sight of someone he didn't want to see. "Well if it isn't the Irish traitor and his death eater boyfriend. Hope you're happy Seamus. He who must not be named is now out there and you could have helped get the weapon against him back. Now he's right in his clutches. The wizarding world is in jeopardy and it's all your fault." Seamus looked like he was going to cry, which in turn made Felix grab hold of his hand tightly. "Now, now Mr. Weasley. Shouting things like that across the ministry isn't a very good idea is it." Lucius Malfoy was stood next to the ginger boy with two very scary looking security guards. "Take him to the Wizengamot. He will have to be trialled after Dumbledore." The guards nodded and Lucius walked over to his family.
"You okay boys?" The two nodded and looked at the Malfoy Lord. "You are both going to see some not very nice things today that's why I've asked you Seamus to be here to support Felix. Unfortunately, you won't be allowed in the room when the trial happens however, there is a lovely waiting room that has a lovely selection of goodies. Take this and you will get a lovely lunch for free." Lucius passed Seamus a small voucher and then turned around. "Let's get you guys signed in then." And with that they walked up to the Security desk.
"Names?" The grumpy looking guard said behind the desk. The family all gave their names and handed over their wands for weighing. "And your reasons or being at the ministry this morning?" He asked still not looking up at the family. Lucius replied and answered all the questions. "Very well Mr. Malfoy. Please make sure you are all wearing these Visitor badges at all times. Have a pleasant day."
The group entered the main hall. It was huge with elevators lining up each side of the hall. It always looked like you went in one way and came out the other. Stopping in front of a lift, Mr Malfoy checked over the boys one more time. "Now I must say Felix you look incredibly calm considering the circumstances. Are you sure you're happy to do this?" Felix nodded to his father's question and truth be told he was very nervous. He didn't know what to expect. His father was there, as well as his mother and of course Seamus. What could go wrong? Well it was time to find out.
The elevator stopped in front of them and the gates opened. Upon entering the boys looked up as the seen what looked like paper aeroplanes fly into the compartment with them. "What are they Mr Malfoy?" Seamus asked slightly confused that they floated in without falling. "Memo's. We used to use owls however as you can imagine the mess was uncontrollable." That answer seemed to make Seamus smile. "Could you show us how to do that? Just then I can keep in contact with Fe when we go back to school." Lucius looked confused for a minute and then remembered that Seamus was a Gryffindor and had no way of being able to speak to Felix in private when the pair would return to school. "I don't see why not." Narcissa was about to protest but was stopped when the elevator stopped and allowed the group to enter another vast hallway, decorated much as the rest of the ministry. "Right this is where we leave Seamus and your mother Felix." The family parted their ways, Mrs Malfoy and Seamus heading to the waiting room. As a witness, Seamus needed to be within reach of the hall but wasn't permitted to sit in the room. "Now Felix we are looking for Courtroom Three. Ah. Here it is."
The father and son duo entered and sat on the bench. Looking up Felix could see many people he knew to be very big within the wizarding world. Uncle Tom was sat in the second row and gave a very subtle smile. Next to him was Delores Umbridge. Felix had met her a few times, he wouldn't say he liked her but couldn't say he didn't either. Susan Bones' aunt was sat there too looking at her notes. There were loads of big names. Before he had chance to study them all Cornelius Fudge entered the room and sat down in the middle.
"Good morning all. We are here today for the trial of a Mr Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. Charges include Child Abuse, Improper use of the imperious curse as well as the Cruciatus and of course multiple crimes against a Mr Felix Abraxas Malfoy. Bring him in" You could hear Dumbledore's protests before he entered the round cell in the centre of the room. The hearing took more than two hours. Seamus had been called in and placed under a potion called veritsurm to prove that he was forced by Dumbledore. That made the man nervous.
"Thank you very much Mr. Finnigan. Before you go however, I would just like to say that the ministry hopes you're very happy being under the care of Mr and Mrs Malfoy and we hope you have made a good friend within young Felix. Good day Mr. Finnigan." Seamus rushed to leave however was stopped by the cries of the ex-headmaster. "You know his life is hell minister and Harry must be returned to my care. He's the only one who can vanquish Voldemort. Look what you've done Seamus. You've single headedly ruined the wizarding world. Mark my words Finnegan. You will suffer a very painful death as well as you Harry…" That was the last straw. Lucius stood up, face red with anger. Mr Dumbledore, You continue to call my son by a false name and threatening him as well as my ward. Minister Fudge could we please make a verdict." Fudge agreed with Lucius and looked to the rest of the Wizengamot. "All of those that believe that Dumbledore is guilty raise your hand." All the hands bar one which so happened to be Mrs Weasleys went up. "Well no need to say all opposed. Well then. Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, you are here by sentenced to life in Azkaban prison. Any more trouble from you Dumbledore we will make sure that you are given to the dementors."
Fear isn't something Felix ever thought he'd see on the old man's face, but he thought it looked good.
The trial had ended and the Malfoys were sat in the sitting room at Malfoy manor. Draco was catching up with his twin about the trial and Seamus was chatting to Lucius. "Thank you so much for taking me in Mr. Malfoy. I really appreciate it." Lucius smiled at the polite Irish boy. "You are more than welcome. It's the least we could do. Tell me Seamus are you still having trouble with your wand? Only Draco said you usually cause an explosion everytime you tend to use it." Seamus nodded and looked down, cursing Draco for making him feel this embarrassed. "We shall go to Diagon Alley and get you a new wand when the letters come through."
"So, is that really what happened?" Draco asked elsewhere in the room. Felix nodded and Draco smiled. Finally, his brother was safe from that old fool. Felix however still had the feeling of dread deep down.
Well guys here is the next chapter. This has been the hardest one to write by far. However, this story is very near the end but Felix Malfoy will return with a sequel at some point in the future.
One more chapter to go and it will be released next month at some point. Don't forget to try out Isolation.
