-Hina & Kuri-

Despite having adopted Kuri, Hina and Taishiro were still looking for a school that worked with the hours that both of them worked, so the girl went to work with her mother. Hina was dressed in her usual garb while Kuri was in a pair of blue overalls and a yellow and green striped shirt for Hina's first day back since adopting the girl. The front gates of UA were huge compared to anywhere the little one had ever been before. Crowds of students went up, making Kuri nervous; she grabbed onto Hina's leg and walked close to her. A chuckle escaped the woman, "Kuri? Are you alright?" Hina ran her fingers through the honey locks of the little girl.

"It's big…" she hid her face, mirroring the shyness she displayed when she had first met Hina.

"Don't worry. You're gonna meet some really great kids today, sweetheart. Including some of the kids that work with Daddy," she said in a quiet voice as she led her to her classroom. Walking in, the class was empty due to all the students being in their homerooms. "The big kids aren't gonna get here for an hour or two, so you can sit at one of the desks for now, Sunshine." Kuri went over to one of the tables and sat there, doodling on some blank papers that were left there.

The time passed peacefully and quietly, fifteen minutes passed as if they were nothing when the door to the classroom opened. Kuri jumped slightly, but Hina seemed at ease as a woman walked into the room.

"Finally! You're back! It's not like you to just take a random week off, Hina," the brunette said, "I would say that I'm worried, but you seem to be doing a lot better now. Can I ask why?" She smiled knowingly, but then that smile dropped and was replaced with a look of shock as her eyes fell upon Kuri. "Hina… I need you to be honest with me… Did you seriously steal a kid?!"

Hina laughed and stood, walking over to Kuri and putting her hands on the little girl's shoulders, "Actually Cece, this is Kuri… Taishiro and I adopted her." She smiled at her friend as Kuri got up and hid behind Hina, grasping her tightly.

Cece kneeled down to be eye-level with the girl, "Hi there… I'm Miss Counselor. It's so nice to meet you!."

Watching the woman cautiously, Kuri peeked at her, still holding onto Hina. "Hi…"

"She's a shy one, huh?" Cece looked up at her friend before standing, having been analyzing the kid's behavior.

"Only at first. After she gets comfortable around people, she's quite the cuddle bug!" Hina said as she picked Kuri up and kissed her forehead, giggling as Kuri hugged back and hid her face again.

"Maybe she should come to talk to me at some point. I've been trying to talk Aizawa into bringing Eri to get counseling too." Hina nodded in response as Cece pet Kuri's head, "it was very nice to meet you, Kuri. I hope to see you again soon," and with that, the counselor left with a smile.

Hina turned her attention back to her daughter, "it's okay, Kuri, everyone here is gonna love you, alright? No need to be shy." She said as she put her back down in the chair. Kuri silently went back to drawing; it looked like their little family, well, it kind of looked like a yellow version of Totoro with two smaller figures, but it was cute, to say the least.

An hour passed as if it was nothing. Several sheets of paper surrounded Kuri as Hina looked over turned in assignments that she had to grade. The bell rang and chatter could be heard in the hall. "Is it time to go home already, Mama?"

"Not yet, Sunshine. The big kids change classes a couple of times in a day. You'll get to meet some of my students in a little bit, actually."

As if on cue, the students of Class 1-A began filing into the room, before stopping as they saw the girl sitting at a table, though a few went to take up their normal seats. A particular blonde walked up to the chair where Kuri was sitting. Hina had thought nothing of it, still focused on grading until the teen began to talk.

"What the hell is some pipsqueak doing in my seat?" Katsuki glared down at the girl, making tears begin to well in her eyes before a redhead stepped in.

"Woah, Bakugou! Saying that to a kid so isn't manly! Calm down, bro!"

A boy with glasses stepped in to speak, "he is correct though, there isn't a reason for a child this young to be at UA."

"Iida's right. Why is a kid here? I'd guess if it was a situation like Eri, but we were so busy with the mission that…" this student trailed off into mumbling.

As more and more of the students stared down at her, they continued to chime in, a few asking her name and introducing themselves. So many people she didn't know in a room began to make Kuri anxious, especially as Bakugou began to argue with classmates, causing her to sniffle as fat tears began to roll down her cheeks. "M-Mama!" She cried loudly, frozen in place and scared to move.

Hina swooped in kneeling next to the little one and scooping her up, comforting her. The mother looked at her students as they all returned surprised looks. "So… I didn't think that this would happen that way…. But this is Kuri Toyomitsu… She's mine and Fatgum's daughter."

With that Kirishima's face lit up. "No way! This is the little miss Fatgum was talking about?!" Of course, Taishiro had been telling people at the agency about their new addition. "Nice to meet ya! I'm Eijiro Kirishima!" He frowned slightly when the kid didn't even bother to really look his way.

Chuckling awkwardly, Hina cleared her throat, "she's a little shy… this is only temporary anyways until we find a school nearby that works out with our family's work schedules." The class was filled with quiet murmurs before Hina turned her attention to her daughter. "Do you want to go sit at my desk or do you want to sit with some of the big kids?" Hina put her down as each of the students started to introduce themselves (aside from Bakugou, who was more annoyed that there was a little kid that now became the center of attention in a lame ass class). There were so many people. "Kuri?"

Without a word, the child walked up to Kirishima and grabbed his hand. For someone who's quirk involved becoming stone, his heart surely wasn't. Looking up at him, she took a deep breath. "My name is Kuri and I'm seven years old… It's very nice to meet you!" She looked up at Kirishima with an unsure, yet optimistic look in her eyes.

"I guess that's that, then," Hina said with a laugh.

Rather than sitting, Kuri watched what Kirishima was doing as she stood by his side. Even though she was offered an extra seat, she stood awkwardly by his side. Obviously, standing with Kirishima meant being at the same table as Denki, Mina, Sero, Bakugou, and Jiro. Every now and again they'd spark up conversations with the kid, earning a short response. Kuri became more and more comfortable with the group, even leaning against Kirishima at one point as she watched what he was doing. At one point, Hina had to take a picture to send to Taishiro about one of his interns and his daughter getting along so well (with Eijirou's permission, of course).

Despite the rough start, the class went smoothly. And so did many of the other class periods and lunchtime. When Class 3-A came for their time in the art class, Kuri had learned what it was like for the older kids coming and going, so she was much more open and talkative. Though, by the time the final class had rolled around, Kuri was sticking more with Hina, having gotten tuckered out by the longer day of activity.

By the time it was time to go home, Kuri was exhausted; she took up Hina's spot at her desk and had fallen asleep in the chair by the time the final bell rang. A slight whine was the only response the kid gave as she attempted to curl up tighter and block out the noise. Picking up her daughter, Hina smiled as she left. It was a relief to see that Kuri was slowly becoming more and more social on her own. Kuri's first day at UA had been a good one, thankfully, and Hina couldn't wait to tell Tai all about their day; surely, Kuri would too, but for now, it was better just to let the kid dream.
