After logging off her video call with Sasuke, Sakura started running a warm bath for Sakiko. She set out a diaper, onesie, and all her nighttime products before changing her out of the current jumper she was wearing. Next she put the bath seat in the tub and gently placed Sakiko inside, who immediately relaxed in the water.
Sakura washed her baby with a calming body wash, and hummed a soft tune throughout her bath. Once she was clean, Sakura wrapped her in a warm towel and took her to the nursery to get ready for bed. She patted her dry on the changing table and then rubbed on her usual unscented lotion. Lastly, she put a fresh diaper on Sakiko and a light blue onesie with basketballs spotted all over it.
She fed Sakiko one more time before wrapping her in a dark red swaddle and placing her in the crib for the night. Now that her baby was all taken care of, Sakura could finally take some time for herself. She knew that once she became a mother her wants and needs no longer came first, but she didn't know the full extent of it.
So tonight she decided to treat herself by doing a face mask and having a bubble bath of her own. After her bath, she had some leftovers from the night before and then finally got in bed for the night. Which felt far too big without her husband there next to her, but at the same time she was so proud of what he was doing. And he was taking care of them at the same time, so she really should be looking on the bright side of it all.
She also had a surprise in store for Sasuke, that she couldn't wait for him to see tomorrow. But until then she decided to watch Sakiko sleep through the baby monitor for a while, before she was finally able to fall asleep.
Morning came and Sakura awoke to a loud cry from Sakiko in her nursery, "Sounds like someone is hungry" she thought with a smile. So she got up and wrapped a light pink robe around herself, and made her way into the nursery. Once there she took Sakiko out of the swaddle and smiled at the big stretch and her daughter did. She then picked her up and sat down on the padded rocking chair and began feeding her. "You really were hungry huh?" she said lovingly, as her daughter grabbed onto her finger while she drank.
The rest of the day went by smoothly, Sakura went and visited Dr.Tsunade at the clinic with Sakiko. And then went to the grocery store and got some snacks to eat while she watched the game, and Sasuke's favorite type of tomatoes for when he came home.
As the time for Sasuke's game approached, Sakura got herself and Sakiko dressed for the occasion. She had gotten both her and her baby, t-shirt versions of Sasuke's jersey, with Uchiha 14 across the back. After they were dressed, Sakura took a picture of them in the mirror and sent it to Sasuke saying, "Daddy's biggest fans".
She wasn't sure if he would see the message before the game, but regardless she knew it would make him happy. But it was now time for the game to start, so Sakura placed Sakiko in her bouncer so she could focus on the game more.
Sasuke was playing great as usual and his team was up 52-43 at halftime, against one of the better teams in the league. So she used the halftime break to feed Sakiko and get herself some more snacks for the second half. And once it began, Sasuke and his team came out on fire. But Sakura had to keep her cheering to a minimum due to the sleeping baby on her chest, "Silly girl, you're missing the whole game" Sakura said with a giggle.
In the end Sasuke's team won easily with a score of 103-78, and Sasuke finished the game with 24 points and 8 assists. About an hour after the game ended, Sakura received a text from Sasuke saying "You both are so precious, I will see you two tomorrow. I love you."
And Sakura couldn't help but blush at his sweet words, but she pulled herself together to text back, "You did so good tonight! I'm so proud of you, I think Sakiko is too even though she slept through most of it. But we are about to go to sleep here, goodnight I love you too."
After she replied, Sakura changed her and Sakiko into their pajamas and then rocked her little girl to sleep. She placed her into her crib and then got into her own bed, and found sleep easily knowing that her husband would be home tomorrow.
