Since you liked the first one, I'll make a second one. Of course, I'm not sure where I'll go from there. I could do one based on Home Alone 3 but in my opinion the first two movies in Home Alone are the best.
Maybe it's because of Macaulay's performance. I don't know.
Again, Kevin is going to make a wish.
But this wish is slightly different.
Chapter 1: Another Wish
Once again, Kevin was with his family on Christmas eve.
He was excited at the prospect of getting presents.
However, he knew that Christmas was about giving.
Uncle Frank probably didn't know that though. Kevin knew how greedy he was. Though based on what he knew about Matilda's father, Uncle Frank was still more generous than he was.
He had gotten an inflatable clown this time.
Something told him that it wasn't from his cheapskate uncle.
"Honk honk!" exclaimed Fuller.
Personally, he thought it was funny. It made him feel like he was in the circus.
He decided he wasn't going to inflate it just yet though.
Kevin decided he would do that later.
His family were planning to go to Florida this time.
"You think Florida will be exciting?" asked Brooke.
"I hope so." answered Rod.
"There aren't any phony cops asking us about when we're going on vacation, are there?" asked Megan.
She was a bit suspicious after meeting that cop last year.
"Nope, I don't think so." answered Sondra.
Unfortunately, there weren't any Christmas trees in Florida.
Seemed like they preferred Hanukah over Christmas in that particular state.
Kevin was unhappy about that.
Personally, he would rather go to New York.
There was a big Christmas tree in that city.
There was the Statue of Liberty as well, but he preferred the big Christmas tree over that.
Still, at least his family were treating him nicer this year.
He figured he should be grateful for that.
For Christmas Kevin also got a recorder.
He figured he would have fun with that.
Prior to the vacation, Kevin was sent to retrieve a tie from the bathroom.
But Uncle Frank was in the shower at the time.
When he went to get the tie, he ended up listening to his singing instead.
He found it to be hilarious. Maybe Uncle Frank should be on TV.
Kevin simply couldn't help but listen to him sing.
He made sure to use his recorder, because this felt too good of an opportunity to pass up.
But he stuck around too long, and his grumpy uncle yelled at him for being a pervert, misunderstanding his intentions.
Frank was scolded for that, but in his defense, he wanted his privacy while he was in the shower.
Though he was scared by this event, Kevin decided to keep this recording.
He could use the recording to blackmail his uncle...but he was too noble for that.
Still, he decided he would listen to it later.
It would be worth a laugh.
On the lighter side of things, while there wouldn't be a Christmas tree during their vacation, Kevin would at least get to sing in a Christmas pageant before they went to Florida.
For a while, everything was going well.
Fortunately for Kevin, he happened to have a good singing voice.
Though personally he would have liked it better if Uncle Frank was singing along with them instead of being in the audience. He had already heard his singing voice while he was in the shower.
But unfortunately, Buzz had ruined everything by humiliating his brother in public. Seemed he thought it would be funny to light up his ears with his plastic candles instead of singing along with everyone else.
This had set off a domino effect that spoiled the Christmas pageant. Kevin simply couldn't keep his temper. He was a bit like his uncle, though people typically found him to be more likable than his uncle.
Once again, his family were mad at him.
"Kevin! What were you thinking?" asked Kate.
"You've really done it this time!" exclaimed Peter.
"Man, I didn't think things would go downhill so fast..." noted Kevin.
They were mad at Buzz too this time, but he apologized.
But Kevin got the feeling he didn't mean it, because Buzz called him a trout sniffer and dared him to try the top the apology that he had made.
So, he decided not to apologize.
"I'd apologize too, but Buzz was lying in your faces!" exclaimed Kevin.
Just as he had lied about the time that he had bought that horrible magazine.
"What does it matter? His prank was hilarious!" shouted Uncle Frank.
He couldn't stop laughing...even though his nephew had been the butt of the joke the whole time.
The young boy rolled his eyes. He didn't think it was so funny. Especially since there were so many people watching. He wanted the pageant to end with applause, not with disaster.
It was worth than the time that Buzz had eaten his cheese pizza.
Speaking of which, he should probably make sure he doesn't do it again.
He was pretty sure Buzz had his fingers crossed behind his back during the apology.
"He seemed pretty sincere to me." answered Kate.
Kevin sighed.
It seemed once again, his family was siding with Buzz.
It made him feel like they had learned nothing.
"I'll be in the attic...again." noted the boy.
He felt he could use some time alone.
Why wouldn't they believe him?
Shortly after he went to the attic, he received a phone call from Matilda.
He decided to answer it.
It was nice to hear from an old friend, especially after what had happened earlier.
"How are you? I'm almost ready to go on vacation..." asked the girl.
"Me too." answered Kevin.
"I'm going to Florida." spoke the young girl.
"So am I." remarked the boy.
"How ironic. I guess Florida is nice this time of year." spoke the brunette girl. Though it felt a bit odd to spend Christmas in the tropics.
"I'd be happier to go on vacation this year if my family weren't so mean to me." noted Kevin.
"What happened this time?" asked Matilda.
"My brother pulled a prank on me...and then he gave a fake apology." explained the boy.
It had been embarrassing, what he did.
"You're not wishing for your family to disappear again, are you?" asked Matilda. Sometimes she wondered if Kevin was a magician. Nobody else could make an entire family disappear overnight, especially as big as his family was.
Last time that had gotten Kevin in trouble.
Although, if he hadn't been at home, there wouldn't be anything stopping the Wet Bandits from robbing the house.
"No...but I wouldn't mind if I got to go on a vacation without them." noted Kevin. As before, they were letting Buzz walk over them and were treating him unfairly. Though at least things were better than last year.
'Seems fair." answered Matilda.
"I wouldn't mind going on vacation with you though." remarked the boy.
"Aww...how sweet." answered the girl.
Still, she didn't think Kevin should be unsupervised, regardless of his wish.
That pizza man was still haunted by what he had done while he was home alone. Who would have thought that a movie could be used to scare away a pizza delivery guy?
Although, perhaps Kevin had matured since last year. Maybe the pizza man could rest easy this time.
Meanwhile, Uncle Frank was outside grumbling about how naughty his nephew was.
Next time he was going to take a shower in his OWN home.
Or he could simply lock the door.
Whichever was more convenient for him.
However, Old Man Marley paid him a visit.
"Oh, hey. Are you shoveling the roads? I'd be pretty unhappy if I couldn't use the driveway." noted Frank.
For some reason, Old Man Marley seemed more cheerful than when he had seen him last time.
Marley told him about how he had acted like he did and had alienated himself from his family.
He had reunited with them (as per Kevin and Matilda's suggestion), but that was beside the point.
Uncle Frank wondered if he should act differently.
Though he would really appreciate it if Kevin didn't enter the bathroom while he was in the shower. Except maybe if he needed to go really badly.
Meanwhile in New York, Harry Wormwood was with his family, minus Matilda.
Unfortunately for Mr. Wormwood, he had been caught scamming people out of their money.
Perhaps Matilda was right to tell him not to cheat people that trusted him, as much as he was loathe to admit it.
As punishment, he was slapped with a suspension of business decree.
In other words, he wouldn't be able to sell used cars anymore.
As such, he needed to find another job.
He settled on Duncan's toy chest in New York.
His son Michael happened to like the place. It had so many cool toys.
And the toy store was pretty big in size. Five floors, to be precise.
However, it baffled Mr. Wormwood that the money was going to charity.
Why give the money away when one could spend the money on themselves?
Still, he decided he would keep working there...for now.
Although, unlike Harry Wormwood, Duncan had no intention of giving the children faulty toys for a quick buck. Faulty toys could be dangerous. And he didn't want anything happening to the children.
Before she went on her trip, Matilda decided to read the newspaper.
She liked to keep up on current events.
At first, what she had learned amused her.
Apparently, her father Harry Wormwood had been caught scamming people using sawdust.
Matilda thought it was worth a laugh.
She knew that his actions would come back to haunt him eventually. There were more important things in life than money, but Harry Wormwood probably would never realize that.
By comparison, she was making a more honest living.
Currently, Mr. Wormwood and his family were living in New York.
She decided she would tell Miss Honey about that.
But what she learned next wasn't so funny. In fact, it alarmed her.
Apparently, Harry and Marv (aka, the Wet Bandits) had escaped from prison during a riot.
Matilda remembered them from last year. Those two had almost ruined their Christmas...along with several other people on the block.
How did the duo escape? One of the guards had forgotten one day to make sure that they didn't clog the sinks and flood the bathrooms.
Because of that, the bathrooms had ended up flooding.
And that had caused a riot, because the prisoners weren't happy about not being able to use the restroom.
During the commotion, Harry and Marv had escaped. Fortunately for them, not only had the other prisoners not figured out that they were responsible, it seemed they had superhuman durability, because the barbed wire didn't bother them too much.
Seemed Matilda wasn't the only one with special powers.
This wasn't good.
Hopefully she would be safe.
And so would Kevin.
Luckily, it seemed the police were looking for them.
Perhaps they would be caught before too long.
Like Kevin, she was feeling disappointed about not having a Christmas tree during her vacation.
Still, Miss Honey thought the vacation to Florida would be a good idea.
So she decided that she would go with her.
Before the vacation, Matilda decided to tell Miss Honey about her concerns.
Knowing the Wet Bandits, they would probably want revenge on her and Kevin after what they had put them through last year, but she decided not to tell Miss Honey about that.
"I'm worried about the burglars...did you hear about them escaping?" asked Matilda.
Miss Honey assured her that she would keep an eye on her until the Wet Bandits were recaptured.
She sighed in relief.
Matilda fell asleep, feeling excited for the vacation tomorrow.
Unfortunately at the McAllisters, there was another power outage.
Seemed they had terrible luck around Christmas.
Perhaps they should reconsider going on vacations around that time.
But perhaps they would be able to reach the airport again in time, like they did before.
Who knew?
Uh-oh, it looks like the Wet Bandits have escaped from prison!
I decided to go into a bit greater detail than the movie did.
Mainly because I thought it would be funny.
And of course, I wanted to be creative.
Oh, and look, Old Man Marley was in the fanfic. Surprising, huh?
In the next chapter, we'll see if history repeats itself and if Kevin gets left behind at home, again.
