In this chapter, our heroes are going to try to avoid being caught by Mr. Hector.

He's the man in charge here.

Why is this chapter called Peeping Tim? Mr. Hector is played by Tim Curry.

You might know that already, but I still figured I would clarify it for those who don't.

You were probably expecting him to play a character more evil, huh?

Anyways, perhaps this sequel will be longer than the first. Who knows?

Chapter 3: Peeping Tim

Now that they were on vacation in New York, Kevin decided to go for a swim at the pool.

Matilda decided to go with him.

She figured it would be fun.

Kevin was wearing blue swim trunks and Matilda was wearing a blue one piece.

Seemed they both like the color blue.

And speaking of that color, Matilda was a bit worried that Kevin might fill the pool with blue dye. He loved playing practical jokes.

But luckily, he did not.

However, he ended up losing his swim trunks during a cannonball.

"Whoops! Can't forget these!" exclaimed Kevin.

Those were kind of important.

He quickly put his swim trunks back on.

"Are you alright Matilda? You look a bit woozy..." noted the boy.

Matilda had been there to see it.

But she came back to her senses after Kevin waved his hand in front of her face.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine." answered the girl.

Luckily for Kevin, his brother Buzz wasn't there to witness his accident.

Otherwise, he would never hear the end of it.

The two of them ordered room service so they can have ice cream.

Unfortunately, the concierge came by for some housekeeping.

In truth, he wanted to find evidence that proved that Kevin and Matilda were liars.

He simply was not a very trusting person.

"Oh man, if the concierge comes in here and finds out we're here alone, we're busted!" exclaimed Matilda.

"There has to be something we can do." answered Kevin.

He didn't want his vacation to end just yet. Why was the concierge so determined to prove they were liars, anyway?

Fortunately for Kevin, he remembered that he had an inflatable clown.

He also had a Talkboy.

He realized what he should do.

Quickly, he went to turn on the shower water.

Being the snoopy man that he is, Mr. Hector came into the room.

However, he was surprised to hear the sound of singing.

Had Kevin and Matilda been telling the truth? Was their father really with them?

Uo until now, he had assumed the two of them were lying.

Kevin was using his inflatable clown and his Talkboy to make it look like there was someone singing in the shower.

They were turning out to be the best Christmas presents ever.

Of course, he decided that he would scare off the concierge for being snoopy.

No, not the Peanuts character. Mr. Hector had never flown a war plane.

"Get out of here, you nosy little pervert, or I'm going to slap you silly!" exclaimed the Talkboy, as the clown shook his fist at him.

Mr. Hector panicked and ran out of the hotel room. It looked like his attempt to bust Kevin and Matilda had backfired spectacularly.

"He better listen. Wouldn't want to get trampled by a circus elephant, right?" asked Matilda.

Kevin and Matilda both laughed.

As Mr. Hector ran away, he accidentally tripped over a coffee table.

"So...you think we're off the hook?" asked Kevin.

"Possibly. The concierge doesn't seem like the type of man to give up easily though." noted Matilda.

They would want to come up with another plan just in case.

"I wish your uncle had books in his bag. I happen to enjoy reading." remarked the girl.

"Maybe we can find a bookstore." suggested Kevin.

"I like the way you think." spoke Matilda. Not least due to the idea he had come with a few minutes ago.

"By the way, my uncle Rob happens to live in this city." remarked Kevin.

He couldn't help but feel a bit jealous...though personally he liked living in the suburbs.

"Is he like your uncle Frank?" asked Matilda.

"No, fortunately. His presents are actually pretty good." noted the boy. He enjoyed the presents that he had gotten last year.

"Maybe we should visit him." suggested the girl. He seemed like a compassionate person...unlike her father.

Kevin nodded. He was starting to wish he could spend the vacation with his family.

In his opinion, they didn't know what they were missing.

Besides, he heard that it was raining in Miami. Hopefully his family had packed umbrellas.

But considering the hurry they were in to leave the house, probably not.

They ran into the concierge on the way out.

"Can I apologize to your father?" asked the man.

"Chances are you won't be seeing him again. You kind of invaded his privacy. He says that he didn't come to New York just so someone could see him naked." explained Kevin.

Mr. Hector chuckled nervously.

He fully remembered the events of last night.

"Maybe next time you should ask for permission to come inside." noted Matilda.

"Yeah, maybe..." answered the concierge. He had tripped over a coffee table. He could twist his ankle next time.

Fortunately, Kevin's uncle's house wasn't far from the hotel. In fact, they could walk there.

On the way to Rob's house, Kevin thought he saw the Wet Bandits.

However, he ultimately decided that it wasn't them.

"I must be seeing things." remarked the boy.

Little did he know that he wasn't seeing things.

"Really, Marv? Stealing money from a Santa donation bin?" asked Harry. That would only give them half a dollar at the most. It wasn't worth getting arrested over.

Ironically, he knew that his partner happened to celebrate Hanukkah instead of Christmas. Which made him wonder why Marv had deciddd to become a thief in the first place.

Harry thought the Jews were loaded.

"Since you didn't like the concept of us being fishy bandits, I figured we could call ourselves the sticky bandits!" exclaimed Marv.

He had some tape on his left hand.

"We're going to be a sticky situation if the police find out about us." warned Harry. Especially since the two had broken out of prison.

Marv had tried to take a woman's purse, only to get slapped in the face.

Harry recommended he not try to steal from the pigeon lady at the park, because she was homeless and therefore wouldn't have much money.

That, and Harry remembered the time where Kevin covered him with feathers. He didn't want history to repeat itself.

"Did you have any ideas as to where we can steal from? You said banks were off the table because they were too well-defended. Maybe we can try a jewelry store?" asked the man.

"Maybe...but jewelry stores tend to be well-defended too." noted the short man. Not as well-defended as banks, but he still didn't want to take the risk.

He would feel better if they robbed somewhere else.

They could try robbing the Plaza Hotel, but he found the voice of the concierge to be scary.

And there was no guarantee that the tourists would have lots of cash.

Though if he realized that Kevin McAllister and Matilda Honey were staying there, he would definitely reconsider going to the place.

He decided to read the New York Times.

Suddenly, he had an idea.

Duncan's Toy Chest was in the front page of the newspaper. Seemed they were having a big sale.

The money in question would be donated to a children's hospital.

All of a sudden, he knew where he wanted to strike.

"I got an idea! Why don't we hit the toy store? Based on what I've heard, the place is filled with money!" exclaimed Harry.

Especially since it was around Christmastime. It looked as if they would be having a holly jolly Christmas.

If they pulled off the heist, the money that they gained would be more than enough for them to escape the United States.

"That's a great idea! Maybe they have action figures!" shouted Marv.

"Aren't you a little old to be playing with those?" asked the grumpy man.

"Hey, it's not like I'm going to choke on them!" exclaimed Harry's partner.

"Speaking of choking, I would like to do that to that McAllister kid and that girl if we ever see them again." remarked the angry crook. They would regret all the suffering they had put Marv and himself through.

"I thought we were planning to go to a foreign country." questioned Marv. Not plotting their revenge.

"Just wishful thinking." explained Harry.

"Ooh, can we rob a candy store afterwards? I'd like some chocolate." asked Harry's partner.

"No, Marv. Candy stores aren't loaded. And you'll probably end up getting cavities." answered the brains of the duo.

Marv let out a dejected sigh.

Meanwhile...

Mr. Wormwood was working at Duncan's toy chest, still angry that he had lost his bag to Matilda.

On the lighter side, Michael was having a good time.

He was playing with all sorts of cool toys.

Naturally, he happened to like the cars. He was pretty happy that he moved to New York...though he wasn't sure why his dad had decided to move in the first place.

Perhaps the reason he liked cars so much was because his father used to sell them...before he had been forced out of business.

Of course, if he knew the reason why his father had moved (he had been stealing cars and replacing their license plates to pass them off as his own), he wouldn't be so proud of his dad.

Unfortunately for Mr. Wormwood, something told him that Matilda was using his credit card.

She was going to pay for that.

Just as soon as he managed to find her.

But for now, he would do his job.

Not that he liked the children.

They were always asking him where to find specific toys.

The toy store had five floors so it was a bit hard to find one in particular.

To him, it was annoying.

His employer Duncan didn't mind it at all though.

At the airport...

Kate could only hope that the police weren't as incompetent as they were last year.

After all, last year there had been burglars in the neighborhood.

If they had been more competent, perhaps they would have been arrested before they robbed the Murphys.

Fortunately, it seemed that they could track Kevin if he used his uncle's credit card.

Kate believed that he couldn't use a credit card.

But she thought wrong.

The motel they were staying at turned out to be rundown.

Perhaps there was a reason why Kevin didn't want to stay in Miami.

Maybe the family should have respected his judgment.

Hopefully he was having a better vacation than they were.

Miss Honey was wondering the same regarding Matilda as well.

She too was staying at the Dolphin hotel.

Well, wherever she was, she just hoped that she was doing fine.

Elsewhere...

Unfortunately, it seemed that Uncle Rob was not at home at the moment.

They had found out when they had tried ringing the doorbell.

"Hello? Anyone home?" asked Kevin.

Currently, Rob's house was under renovation.

"I wonder where he is." questioned Matilda.

Kevin was disappointed.

It would be nice to meet with a member of his family.

Well, he didn't want to break and enter. He wasn't like the Wet Bandits who had tried to break into his house last year.

Besides, considering what he was capable of, it wouldn't be too surprising if the house was booby trapped to protect it from intruders.

Fortunately, he had an idea as to how they should spend their vacation next.

"Maybe we could go to Duncan's toy chest and get some toys. I saw an advertisement for it on TV." spoke Kevin.

It certainly looked like a fun place.

"It would be nice to have a souvenir of our trip. There are probably action figures." noted Matilda.

The McAllister boy scratched his head.

"I was under the impression that you would want Barbie dolls." answered the boy.

"That's a girl stereotype. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they did have Barbie dolls at that store." noted the girl.

Kevin shrugged.

The two of them took a taxi.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas was on TV.

Matilda considered it fortunate that it wasn't Angels with Filthy Souls or its sequel.

She knew from experience she had the power to destroy a TV with her mind.

She certainly didn't want to do that with the one at the hotel. Kevin was already racking up a room service bill.

Back at the Plaza Hotel...

Unfortunately, Mr. Hector wasn't done with Kevin and Matilda yet.

He decided to check to see if their cards were stolen...

...which they were.

A wide smile formed on his face.

"Those kids aren't getting away with this!" exclaimed the man.

The police were going to hear about it.

But for now, he would wait for the duo to return.

He knew there had been something funny about them.

Oddly enough according to the Home Alone Wiki Mr. Hector tripping over a coffee table wasn't in the script.

Anyways...uh-oh, it looks like the Wet Bandits are planning to rob Duncan's toy chest!

Can they be stopped?

In the next chapter, the Wet Bandits (or Sticky Bandits) will meet with Kevin and Matilda...again!
