Antun Cesarec, Croatia, stared out of his window.

Over a month ago, his people had voted for independence from Yugoslavia.

And now, the time had come, after some preparation, for his people to declare independence.

They would be alright; he was sure of that. After all, they were his people. What could the Yugoslavian government do?
