Decisions

Art or science?

Lost in thought,

He finds his pen,

And starts to write.

Ink soon fills

The clean white page,

A brief and all too rare

Respite.

Hard to know

Which path to take

When faced with such

A key decision.

An author,

As he much prefers;

Or as his parents hope,

Physician.

All those tales

As yet untold;

Adventures,

Every daring deed.

Quite a task

To make a living

From such stories,

Few succeed...

A stifled sob,

His mother's sickroom;

Quiet despair,

His father's voice.

Watson puts away

His note book,

And his pen,

And makes his choice...
