Chapter 8: Red Shoes Taken
Hans was frying donuts as Red Shoes, Jack, Pino, Nocchi, and Cchio were sitting in the living room.
"Hans, you shouldn't have." Red Shoes was practically drooling as she looked at the delectable donuts on the table. She licked her lips as she picked one up and bit into it. She moaned in pleasure as she continued to savor the creamy sweet flavor.
"Something sweet for someone sweeter. You like?"
"This is spectacular!" Red Shoes nodded; she had a small white mustache above her upper lip.
"Oh, it's nothing! Just let me know what you'd like, any time, for the rest of your life." Hans held his hands together.
"Psh, that's nothing. What women really want is jewelry. Behold, this beautiful ring can be yours for free, well except maybe for a kiss." Jack pulled a blue and golden box from his jacket pocket with an enormous diamond ring in it.
"That's really sweet Jack, but I can't accept it." Red Shoes held up her hand as she finished her first donut and was beginning to eat a second chocolate one with sprinkles on top.
"Why not? What can I give you to make you mine?" Jack asked.
"I don't want your jewels, only your good intentions." Red Shoes shrugged. Suddenly a strange nasally voice echoed around them as they looked around in confusion. Red Shoes quickly ate her donut as she got up and they all looked out the window to see a stranger standing outside with a small army of guards. Merlin and Arthur were tied up and kneeling beside the stranger.
"Attention! Hideous trolls!"
"Oh, it's that loser, Prince Average." Jack snarled.
"It's pronounced Ah-vu-rhage!" Prince Average responded.
"Inside your amateur attempt at a travesty that isn't nearly fabulous as a castle, there is a gorgeous wanted criminal. I hereby command that all of you exit the premises, and surrender! Fail to comply, and you will never see these two again." Prince Average looked down at Merlin and Arthur.
"You have until three. One. Two. I lied, charge!" Prince Average hollered at his guards to stormed dwarfs' home, just then, Red Shoes opened the front door and walked out.
The guards tumbled over one another and fell to the floor. Prince Average got down from his horse and approached Red Shoes in awe.
"You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen!" Prince Average's jaw dropped as Red Shoes made a disgusted face at him.
"Am I the person you want?" Red Shoes said fiercely.
"Yes, yes you are." Prince Average said so breathlessly.
"I don't know if you're a real person or a vision of beauty. Some kind of angelic thing with wings. Angelic wing thing." Prince Average made a gesture with his hands, trying to make them appear as fluttering wings.
"I will come with you, but only after you release my friends." Red Shoes gestured over toward Arthur and Merlin.
"Yes, yes of course. Release them! Do it! Do it!" Prince Average commanded as one of his guards did just that.
"Now, here's the good news, it's my birthday! And you're going to be the belle of the ball!" Prince Average said so enthusiastically.
"The invitation sounds great really, but-" Red Shoes started.
"It wasn't an invitation; it was more of an order. Prepare the lady's carriage!" Prince Average ordered.
"She said she doesn't want to go Average." Merlin warned.
"It's Ah-vu-rhage! Don't troll me troll!"
"Ugh, so rude!" Red Shoes sneered at him as she walked forward.
"I know, Celtics these days." Prince Average grabbed her hand as Red Shoes pulled away and punched him. Prince Average lost his balance and fell on his rump as Arthur and Merlin began bursting out laughing.
"Get her!" Prince Average ordered.
"I'll get her out of here, you stall the guards!" Arthur took one of Red Shoes' hands.
"No! You stall the guards and I'll get her out of here!" Merlin argued.
"I'm stronger!" Arthur pulled on Red Shoes' hand.
"I'm faster!" Merlin pulled on Red Shoes' other hand.
Suddenly, two of Prince Average's guards walked up to Arthur and Merlin and punched them; they flew back as Red Shoes took off running. Then a frying pan came flying in, knocking out the majority of the guards, acting at a boomerang, as Hans jumped up to catch it.
"Would you two stop fighting, and fight!" Hans yelled at the two of them as a sword was thrown at Arthur and a bag filled with paper talisman at Merlin.
"What's the plan?" Jack asked as he crossed his arms.
"Rescue Red Shoes." Arthur stood up.
"Like the old days." Merlin fastened the bag around his waist as he pulled out two paper talismans.
They all four then proceeded to attack the guards as they worked together in sync.
Jack pulled out his invisible cloak as he took out a multitude of guards. Then Hans was throwing his frying pan as Arthur wielded his sword and clumsily managed to take out a few guards, though it was knocked out of his hands. Merlin slapped a few paper talismans on the backs of two guards and was just about to clap his hands together in order to activate his magic, but was stopped as the same guards picked him up when Arthur's sword knocked one of them out. Merlin was then able to free himself to clap his hands together as the two guards were electrocuted and fell to the floor unconscious.
"Can we get this over with? They're just dwarves." Prince Average furrowed his brows. There was a sudden shift when a Hans and Arthur were not doing well. Prince Average was beginning to feel amused as his guards were beginning to get the upper hand.
Red Shoes was captured by two other guards and was standing behind Prince Average when suddenly one of the guards released her and toppled over.
"Duck!" A voice whispered to her, though there was no one there. It sounded rather like Jack. But Red Shoes did as was asked of her. She smiled and chuckled as Jack took off his cloak of invisibility and signaled for the two of them to run away. Prince Average turned and noticed the two guards once holding Red Shoes were on the ground holding their heads in pain.
"Hi guards, are you taking a break? In case you haven't noticed, they're getting away!" Prince Average yelled at them as they got up and ran after them, along with several other guards.
"Huh?" Merlin checked his pocket and realized he had no more paper talismans. He then backed into the stables and looked down into a bucket filled with carrots, he picked one up and threw it at one of the guards as he opened up the wooden bunny's stall as it leapt on top of the guard.
"Ha! You just got Merlined!" He did a little winner dance when suddenly the guard lifted his hammer and swung it at the rabbit, launching it and Merlin into the stall.
"Woah!" Red Shoes ducked as the guards were throwing weapons at them. She took Jack's hand as he smiled broadly. Suddenly they were cornered. She noticed in Jack's back pocket was his cloak of invisibility and grabbed it, throwing it over her shoulders.
"Duck!" She ordered as they ducked and jumped off, landing on Merlin.
"Ngh!" Merlin groaned.
"Sorry! Are you alright?" Red Shoes took off the cloak and was holding Jack in her arms, who was cuddling against her.
"No, I'm not!" Merlin had the wind knocked out of him.
Red Shoes then got up and let go of Jack. As Merlin slowly got up, Arthur and Hans backed into the stalls as the guards closed in on them. Then there was a loud booming as the triplets emerged inside their wooden giant, taking on the guards. Within the next few moments, more of Prince Average's guards emerged with two cannons.
"Fire!" Prince Average ordered as the wooden giant tumbled down.
"Ugh!" Red Shoes went over to open the top of the giant's head for Pino, Nocci, and Cchio, who managed to get out.
"Fire!" Prince Average ordered again as one canon nearly struck Red Shoes, but Merlin jumped up and pushed her out of the way; thus the cannon ball was lodged into the doorway of the castle.
"Close, the cannon ball, not you." Merlin jumped up off of Red Shoes as she smiled up at him, getting up slowly as he helped her.
"Time out, time out. She can't go to my party if you blow her up, and you almost blew her up!" Prince Average shouted at his guards as they apologized.
"Alright time back in. Surrender monsters!" Prince Average walked towards them as he fisted his hands and shouted ruthlessly.
"No! Wait, I'll come with you!" Red Shoes stepped forward as Prince Average smiled and tapped his fingers together.
"Excellent. You see, little green trolls, I always get what I want." Prince Average held out his hand as Red Shoes swallowed and stepped forward, taking it as Merlin and the others watched her get on his horse as they rode off.
