Everyone floated on their backs in a light blue void, their eyes closed while the sounds of crying can be heard. Towering over them was Rosalina. "Do you hear the baby stars? These newborns will grow up to become galaxies someday. When stars die, they turn to stardust and scatter across the cosmos. Eventually, that stardust reforms to create a new star… and so the cycle of life continues. But the cycle never repeats itself in quite the same way. So… you'll see."

The sounds of fireworks shot off nearby, cheering was heard in the distance… a small butterfly landed on Ruby's forehead. "Mmm…" She let out a groan as she slowly opened her eyes and slowly rose up as the butterfly flew off. She rubbed her head. "Where… am I?" She wondered as she looked around, seeing that she was back in Toad Town. "Am I in…" Her eyes widened, letting out a gasp as she flash backed to the Supermassive Black Hole that destroyed everything. "We're… we're back…" She whispered, tears starting to form in her eyes as Mario was the next one to get up.
"Mama mia…" Mario groaned as he rubbed his head and then saw his surroundings. "Are we… we we back?" He wondered.
"We are…" Ruby said, tears streaming down her face and silently sobbing as one by one, everyone rose up and had the same expression on their face. They were back.
"Oh, no freakin' way…" Yang said.
"We're back? We're back! WE'RE ALIVE! YEAH BABY!" Nora cheered as everyone else started cheering as they hugged one another, as the couples would then embrace one another and kiss each other in gratitude.
BGM: Toad Town (Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story)
"Can someone explain what the heck just happened!" A voice said as they saw Sun approaching them along with Neptune and Claude. "Seriously, we were just chillin' in Alola when all of a sudden everything was distorting and ending up getting destroyed!"
"Well… it's complicated. You got thirty minutes?" Sarge asked.
"I think we need more than that!" Neptune said as Claude approached Yang.
"So, something tells me I missed something amazing." Claude said.
"Yeah… you sure did." Yang let out a chuckle and hugged him tight, to which he returned the hug.
"GLORIA!" Hop's voice called out as Gloria turned to see Hop, Marnie and Bede approaching them. "What's the matter, mate? You look like you've seen a Duskull!"
"Guys…" Gloria whispered, tearing up as she got up and hugged them tightly.
"Okay, explain. What happened?" Bede asked as Gloria started to explain what she had found out before texting all of them. "Oh… that would put a damper on things."
"You didn't want us to worry." Hop said.
"Though, naturally, we did worry a little." Marnie said before chuckling. "Still, we're all back in one piece despite the odds."
"Yeah." Gloria sniffed. "We are." She said, wiping her tears and letting out a small giggle as nearby, Umber and his friends all had smiles on their faces.
"Weiss!"
"Blake!"
Weiss and Blake would turn around and see their families approaching them. Both of them started tearing up as they immediately went over to hug them tightly. It was then they heard a small roar as Azure came flying over. "What the heck is that?" Whitley asked.
"A Rathalos… I've seen it hanging around the Smash Mansion." Winter said as she aimed her sword at it. "I'll make this quick."
"Wait!" Weiss stopped her. "It's okay. He's with me." She said. "He thinks I'm his mother."
"…Huh?" Winter wondered.
"You see, there was this creature called the Seregios that killed his mother in a galaxy that we were in. I took the egg from some scavenging creatures that… I think Rosalina called them Jaggi? Then it hatched and… he immediately imprinted on me." She said. "So, yeah… I'm his mom now."
Willow let out a giggle. "That's adorable." She said, gently petting the Rathalos on the head.
"It sounds like you had a heck of a time up there." Klein said.
"Yeah, we all di-" A stinging pain hit Weiss. "Nnngh!" She winced as Blake immediately knew what was going on.
"Oh, Weiss…" Blake said. "Just because Rosalina numbed the pain doesn't mean your ankle still isn't fractured."
"Dammit, I know!" Weiss winced. "I probably worsened it with all that landing and walking around…" She hissed.
"Yeah, most likely." Blake said as Winter made up some ice crutches for Weiss as she took them.
"Haaa… I definitely need to lay off this foot for a while…" Weiss said.
"Yeah… we're gonna need to put you in a wheelchair." Blake told her.
"If you don't mind me asking-" Ghira spoke up. "Who's Rosalina?"
It was at this moment when they heard the sound of a guitar riff nearby as they turned to see Ibuki on a stage as a crowd of Toads were cheering. "Ibuki knew we would get out okay!" She called out as she started jamming out on a guitar, and accompanying her was Rosalina, also on an electric guitar.
"That would be Rosalina." Blake said. "The one in blue."
"Wow, she's definitely pretty." Willow said with a chuckle as Kali nodded in agreement.
"I was wondering where that dork ran off to!" Hiyoko said with a giggle.
"Heh… what do ya know." Travis chuckled.
As everyone was celebrating, Bowser and the Koopa Troop started to walk away from the Star Festival. "Bowser, wait!" Peach called out as Bowser turned to her.
"What is it?"
"Do you want to spend some time at the festival?" Peach asked.
Bowser's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? You want us to spend time at this festival? After what I did? I blew up the entire universe!"
"That may be true… but I think you deserve to have some fun. We all need it after that horrid experience."
Bowser folded his arms, closing his eyes. "Mmmph…" He then let out a smirk and then let out a chuckle. "Oh what the heck, why not!" He said as he walked forward with the Koopa Troop.
"We could all use a rest after that." Roman said with Neo nodding, then she ran off and happily hugged Luigi and Marnie. "Alright, I guess I could crush Little Red in some games." He said. "…Though now I'm seeing double." He said, looking at Summer. "You had a twin that I wasn't aware of?"
"Oh, this is my mom." Ruby responded.
"Hello." Summer waved.
"Mom?!" Roman said in shock. "…That… makes so much more sense. I can definitely see the resemblance." He said as they started walking toward the festivities.
"Ya know… I was gonna beat him up, but he's already been beaten." Nora said. "Eh, whatever, I'm cool with it."
"Yay for friends!" Caboose cheered.
"Eh, I still think he needs to be beaten up a little…" Church muttered. "Oh well."
"Welp, I don't know about you… but let's have ourselves a grand ol' time!" Ruby said.
"YEAH!" Everyone cheered.
End BGM
"Now wait just a second."
"Huh?" Sonic wondered.
"Who said that?" Nyx wondered.
"I said wait just a second..."
"...That voice… oh no…" Pit whimpered as the ground underneath them shook as evil laughter was heard through the area... and then suddenly, the ground exploded and someone shot out of it before slamming into the ground.
"BOOM!" He said and then dusted himself off. "Why, hello do gooders! We meet again!"
BGM: Hades' Infernal Theme (Kid Icarus: Uprising)
"HADES?!" RWBY and JNPR yelled.
"OH HEEEEEEEEEEEELL NOOOOO!" Viridi screamed.
"Oh no no no no no no! NOT AGAIN!" Pit groaned.
"What are you doing back?!" Palutena demanded to know.
"Oh, the universe was destroyed... but it was restored, correct? For some miraculous reason, the universe decided to bring me back from the dead!" Hades chuckled. "Now I get to mess with you boneheads again just like old times... especially with you, Pitty Pat!"
"...Greeeeeat." Pit groaned.
"At least, that's what I would say if I didn't have to clean up the Underworld in its current state."
End BGM
"...Wait, what?" Ruby wondered.
"Yeah, thanks to you pinheads, the Underworld has been left in such a state that I have to do some massive spring cleaning. So consider yourselves lucky." He said. "However! That isn't to say I still won't mess with you chuckleheads from time to time on your adventures. Heh... messing with you will bring me such joy!"
"Great..." Yang groaned.
"However, I won't do any of that "soul" thing that I used to do. So if that's what you're worried about, then you can relax. However! I may check in on you and throw in a misguidance every now and then just for the thrill of it." Hades smirked. "I must bid you adieu! Oh, by the way, be on the lookout for an evil angel." He said, snapping his fingers and disappearing.
"Great. JUST! GREAT!" Viridi groaned.
"Mistress Viridi, you look like you need some aspirin." Arlon said.
"Gee… YA THINK?"
"At least he's mellowed out... somewhat." Ruby said.
"I guess..." Pit muttered.
"...Wait, what did he mean by evil angel?" Yang wondered.
At the Smash Mansion…
Cloud wandered around the Smash Mansion… when suddenly he felt a shiver down his spine as he stopped in place. "Nngh! What… what is this feeling…" He said. He could feel his breathing quickening, his eyes shifting around the mansion. His hand slowly reached for the hilt of his sword while he gritted his teeth.
"Hey."
Cloud immediately turned around while unstrapping his Buster Sword, ready to throw down… with Samus. "Oh… it's you." He said.
"Something wrong? I never seen you this jumpy before." Samus said.
"No, I'm fine… I just had a bad feeling."
"Well, considering everything blew up all at once, that's understandable." She said as they saw Master Hand floating toward them in a hurry.
"Heeey Cloud…" Master Hand said. "Listen, I just want to say… prepare yourself."
"What exactly are you talking about?" Cloud wondered.
"Eheheheh… well…"
"Good to see you… Cloud."
"Mmph!" Cloud stiffened and turned around, seeing a blade inches from his face. "No… NO!" He yelled in frustration as he saw the wielder on the other side of the sword.
"Miss me?"
"SEPHIROTH!" Cloud yelled. "What… what are YOU doing here?!"
"So it turns out that whatever that distortion was all about, it got the attention of Sephiroth." Master Hand said.
"Tch… of course it did…"
"Aaaand to make things interesting… Crazy Hand already put him in the roster."
"HE DID WHAT?!" Cloud yelled.
"I thought it'd be fun! He just showed up out of nowhere!" Crazy Hand said from afar. "Didn't even want to take a test!"
"Rrrgh… of all the most…" Cloud growled.
"…Nemesis?" Samus guessed.
"Yup." Master Hand agreed.
Samus nodded sympathetically and put her hand on his shoulder, catching Cloud's attention as he turned to her. "First time?" She asked, pointing her thumb behind her toward Ridley and Dark Samus.
Cloud turned to Sephiroth. "You can never get rid of me that easily, Cloud. You know this."
"Shut up." Cloud said, readying his Buster Sword.
"Wherever you go, I will always be right behind you."
"SHUT UP!" He yelled, lunging forward and slashing Sephiroth but he gracefully blocked the attack as he jumped away.
"All's well that ends well!" Crazy Hand chuckled.
"…I sometimes question why we are even related." Master Hand shook his body while Samus rolled her eyes. She heard footsteps behind her as she saw Tifa, Yuffie and Aerith walking by with Barret and Red XIII nearby.
"And this is where we spar with the other Smashers." Tifa said as they were giving the two the grand tour. "Yuffie, Aerith and I are in the B Roster. We fill in for Cloud if he's unavailable at the moment."
"Heh, that sounds pretty sweet." Barret smirked.
"Indeed." Red agreed.
"Now then!" Tifa turned around. "Those two are Master Hand and Crazy Hand. That bounty huntress is Samus Aran. Over there is the lounging area. Over there, you can see Cloud and Sephiroth fighting outside. Over there is the game roo-… WAIT, WHAT?!" Tifa looked on in shock. "What in the name of…?!"
"Don't ask." Master Hand grumbled.
"Oh!" Yuffie exclaimed as she was looking at the roster. "That explains it. Apparently Sephiroth was added into the roster just a few minutes ago as part of the official roster! So… Sephiroth is part of the roster now…" She sweatdropped. "Hoooo boy…"
Aerith's eye twitched. "Well… shit." She muttered under her breath.
Meanwhile, back at the Star Festival…
Cinder watched on from a hill overlooking Toad Town. "Look at them… they're all partying as if nothing happened. Even Bowser is partying like nothing's wrong."
"Well, we all did come back alive… I think." Mercury said.
"Tch… whatever." Cinder said. "They shouldn't even be partying, they should be destroying things again." She clenched her fists. "He's gone soft. All of them have!"
"Cinder, maybe you ought to give them a break." Emerald suggested. "The universe has been restored, so we should be-"
"Silence!" Cinder snapped and then glared at the festival before smirking. "Let them have their fun. They won't have this for much longer." She said and then walked off as Emerald and Mercury walked away.
With Salem…
"Alive again…" She said to herself as she punched a wall in frustration. "The Gods… they mock me… give me a taste of death and they take that away. DAMN THEM!"
With Penny…
"Penny!" Susie came running up to her with Nitori.
"What is it?" Penny asked as she was sitting near a creek, watching several Cheep Cheep swim by.
"When we went into the Blue Typhoon, R3-B7 wasn't in there. She wasn't where she was." Susie explained. "However, we searched for her… and we know where she is."
"You do?!" Penny said in surprise.
"Yeah! She's this way!" Nitori said as they ran off until they found her just near the castle, still banged up and lifeless.
Penny knelt down, cradling R3-B7. "Oh… R3-B7…" She whispered.
"What do you want to do? We can still save her." Susie said. "Her AI is probably still in there somewhere."
Penny looked at them. "You know how I've been remodeled after you saved me, Susie?"
"Yes?"
"We should do the same for her. Get my dad. We need all the help we can get to repair her."
"So you're suggesting remodeling her?" Nitori asked.
"Yes."
"That's good enough for me!" Nitori grinned.
"We should also get Tails involved." Susie suggested.
"Right. We got a lot of work to do." Penny said, standing up and looking into R3-B7's lifeless body, letting out a soft smile. "You're going to be okay." She whispered and walked off, while nearby, Eggman watched from afar.
"It is pointless." He said to himself as he got into his Egg Moble with Orbot and Cubot and flew off. Metal Sonic was behind him, but he was giving Eggman a glare, not that he didn't care.
"So, what are we going to do with that recorder?" Orbot asked. "Do you want to tell the others about Cinder's true goal?"
"Yes, but now is not the time." Eggman said and smirked. "When the time is right, we'll expose her. OHOHOHOHOHO!" He laughed as he flew off.
Meanwhile, at Erdrea, inside of a Dark Star…
A gigantic shadowy figure was in a dark room. This gigantic behemoth… was none other than Calasmos himself.
"STILL ALIVE HUH…" Calasmos mused. "HA… IT DOES NOT MATTERS ANYWAY. I WAS GOING TO ACCEPT THAT UNIVERSAL DESTRUCTION TO DESTROY ALL LIFE. BUT SINCE I AM STILL HERE…IT WOULD GIVE ME MORE TIME TO PLAN. HMMM… I SENSE MY INFLUENCE IS STILL LINGERING IN THAT OTHER UNIVERSE."
"Oh great dark one!" A Master Commander spoke up. "Another portal has just appeared. This time it appeared to the monsters who are only loyal to you. What should we do master?"
"ENTER IT. ROUND UP ANY MONSTER- WHO ARE INFLUENCED BY ME. GATHER INFO FROM THAT UNIVERSE. I WANT TO KNOW MY ENEMIES FROM THAT UNIVERSE. THE TIME IS NOT RIGHT UNTIL A PORTAL THAT IS BIG ENOUGH FOR ME TO ENTER HAS ARRIVED."
Back in the Mushroom Kingdom…
"Phew, it's been a hell of a ride." Ibuki said as she hopped on the hover board. "But now we must part ways."
Rosalina nodded. "Understood. It's been great to have all of you around."
"You too, Rosie-chan!" Ibuki smiled. "Hiyoko-chan, you need a lift back home?"
"I know where to go." Hiyoko chuckled.
"Sounds good to her!" Ibuki grinned. "Maybe some day, we'll be back and we'll kick ass again!" She said and then flew off.
"See ya." Hiyoko waved and then walked off, waving goodbye to her friends as she walked off.
Rosalina took a deep breath and exhaled, looking at the festivities where she watched everyone having fun. She even saw Kirby, Dedede, Meta Knight, and even the ones from Gensokyo were at the party having a fun time, as she watched Flandre and Xena throwing darts at balloons, Dedede swinging his hammer down on the Strongman as there was even a show where Youmu and Meta Knight were sparring in a sword duel with Reimu, Marisa and several others cheering them both on.
"…I'm going to miss them." She said, closing her eyes as a tear escaped her cheek. "May the stars shine down on all of you." She said, disappearing.
"Hmm?" Ruby turned her head. "Huh… where'd Rosalina go?"
Meanwhile, with Qrow…
Qrow walked near some trees, his hands in his pockets. He would hear the sound of a portal open up as he let out a gasp as he turned around and saw Raven coming out. "Raven?" Qrow asked in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"Can't I check up on my brother? After all, the universe was destroyed… but it was restored."
Qrow let out a smirk. "Decided to get worried about your family, hmm?"
Raven blushed. "I wasn't worried! I was… checking to see what had changed." She said as Qrow folded his arms, his smirk not fading. "Wipe that smirk off your face, I wasn't worried at all!"
"Heh, whatever you say." Qrow said. "So, I imagine you're dying to say something, seeing as how you were worried."
"I wasn't!" Raven gave him a glare, both of them unaware of Summer watching the two.
"Raven…?" Summer whispered quietly.
"Anyway, I just came to see what had changed. Nothing more." Raven said. "I wasn't concerned for you at all, nor anyone else."
"Whatever you say."
"Tch…" Raven scowled. "…How's Yang?"
"The firecracker? Oh, she's doing pretty alri-…" He gave her a knowing smirk. "Well, isn't that something. You still care about your daughter."
"I do not! Ugh… you can be so annoying at times." Raven said, swiping her katana down to open up a portal. "Glad to know that all of you are okay after that mess." She said and walked in, the portal closing behind her.
"Heh, after all this time… there's a spark in you where you still care." Qrow said and then walked off, still unaware of Summer watching.
That… that was Raven… Summer thought. What was she doing?
"Hey, Summer, you alright?" Tai asked, putting his hand on her shoulder that made her jump. "Whoa! What's with you? You look like you've seen a ghost. …Ah… sorry, was that a bit much, given that you're-….?"
"No, it's fine." Summer turned to Tai. "Tai, I think I saw Raven talking with Qrow."
Tai raised an eyebrow. "Raven? Heh, I think you've partied a little too much. Raven stopped caring about all of us."
I wouldn't go that far… Summer thought.
"So… you want to head back home?" Tai asked. "I think we all need it after that crazy adventure."
"Yeah… I would like that." Summer smiled.
Sometime later, up in space…
BGM: Family (Super Mario Galaxy)
Rosalina stared at Remnant in front of her with only a small handful of Lumas near her. "Thank you for everything…" She said. "I will watch over you always." She turned around and started to walk… however, she stopped walking as she turned back to look at the planet, thinking what Summer had said to her and all the friendships she had made. She looked up at the vacuum of space. She contemplated what to do. Go back to space to live in solitary with the Lumas… or be with friends?
…Was it even worth spending time alone in space anymore?
She dug into her pocket, pulling out a Smash Invitation.
"What is this?" Rosalina asked.
"It's a Smash Invitation! I figured it'd be better than getting spammed by Crazy Hand." Palutena said. "You'll make a lot of new friends!"
"Palutena… I don't know about this…"
"Would you rather spend an eternity in space all by yourself, or would you rather make new friends? After all, I've seen you open up and chat with everyone. Heck, you even helped out on collecting the Power Stars. Frankly, I know what I would do. I'm not going to force you… but it's entirely up to you. Think about it, okay?"
Rosalina closed her eyes, flashing back to what Summer had requested of her.
"I'm saying that when I'm gone, I want you to watch over Ruby and Yang. I think you'll be a good mother to them."
Rosalina let out a small gasp. "What about Tai?"
"I think you'll be good to him too."
"Okay, time out." Rosalina said. "While yes, it's true that I'm a good mother… I don't know what it'd be like if I just inserted myself into their lives, especially as they're older kids."
"I've seen them much happier when I came back… and I've seen Tai much happier that I haven't seen in a long time. It just… pains me that I will have to leave them again."
"Summer…"
"So please…" Summer looked at Rosalina. "Have them be attached to you like they are with me. I know I told them I'll spend time with them, but… I don't know how long I have until Dark Ruby's gone for good…" She said, tears starting to form in her eyes.
Rosalina let out a soft smile and walked toward Summer, then hugged her. "You're a good mother, Summer… I'll make sure I'll watch over them when you're gone."
Summer sniffed a bit. "Thank you…" She said, returning the hug.
A tear escaped Rosalina's eye. Leave forever… or be with her new friends that she had made? She knew what she had to do.
With Ruby and Summer…
"It feels so strange, staring at my own grave." Summer said.
"Yeah…" Ruby said as her Cyan Wisp was also staring at the grave.
"But you know what…" Summer turned to her. "I'm not gonna let this get to me." She said and wrapped her arms around Ruby where Ruby returned the hug, the two of them embracing.
Their moment was interrupted by the sounds of someone teleporting near them as they turned to see Rosalina gently landing on the ground. "Rosalina…?" Ruby quietly said.
Rosalina smiled. "Hey kiddo." She said. "Thought I'd stick around for a while."
Ruby's eyes sparkled before tearing up and then ran over to hug Rosalina, as she returned the hug. Summer smiled at the both of them and then walked over, hugging Rosalina as well.
End BGM
Meanwhile…
"Nnngh… that bitch… that horrid… red… BITCH!" Dark Ruby groaned, crawling on the ground as half of her face was burnt. "I'll kill her… I'LL KILL HER!"
"My my my… what a sight to behold." A voice said as Dark Ruby looked up and saw Ghirahim standing there. "You look like you've seen better days."
"Nnngh… what… WHAT DO YOU WANT?"
Ghirahim let out a chuckle, picking up Dark Ruby. "Come along now… I'll take you to Master Dry Bowser. He'll know how to fix you up."
"Dry… Dry Bowser?"
"Yes indeed. However, Master Dry Bowser is on a little errand, so we're gonna have to wait a bit." He said as he set Dark Ruby down where she spotted a book.
"What… what's with the book?"
Ghirahim let out a chuckle. "Well… let's just say that's Master Dry Bowser's errand."
Meanwhile… in the Paper Universe…
BGM: More Danger! (Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door)
Bowser burst through a door. "GO GO GO GO GO!" He yelled as Mario, Peach, RWBY and their team quickly ran through a battle arena in the Sammer Kingdom.
"How much farther is it?!" Ruby exclaimed as the void was growing rapidly and shaking the entire area.
"We shouldn't be that far!" A butterfly exclaimed
"HAHAHA… it is too late!" A Sammer Guy said. "We are all doomed! We can't go on like this!"
Bowser grabbed the Sammer Guy. "NOT WITH THAT ATTITUDE! PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER!" He yelled, slapping him and tossed him to the side.
"We gotta hurry! We gotta be close!" Mario said as they kept running… but then suddenly, everything started to lift up from the ground and everything shook violently.
"No no no no! We're too late!" Peach said.
"Nnngh! Keep pushing through!" Yang yelled as they gave it their all… but then, everything was enveloped in white.
