Hello, i don't own anything from Major Crimes. I had this story idea from my real life, my Christmas cookie dough didn't stick together and later in that day i had this story in my head i couldn't forget, so here it is! This is my first story EVER published (there are many stories ''cooking'' :) ) so, please be gentle and i don't have beta reader so any mistakes are my own. AND english isn't my first language! Please, read and leave a comment how you liked it, and maybe you have some tips to teach me:). Thank you!
''Oghh…'' Sharon Raydor was frustrated. Tomorrow will arrive her children: Emily and Ricky, but Christmas cookies will not be cooked. Emily and Ricky couldn't arrive to Christmas, because of their job, so they will be here, tomorrow, on 29. December. They missed so much Christmas cookies this year that they asked Sharon to cook cookies for their arrival. And this is the problem. She has free evening and she wanted to get started, but Christmas cookie dough didn't want collaborate with her. The dough didn't stick together, she made it every time even worse, and her phone started ringing in the distance.
''What?'' She answered her phone without looking.
'' I mean, Sharon Raydor speaking''
'' Whoaa, hello to you too, Sharon'' Sharon to this comment rolled her eyes and smiled.
''Hello, Andy''
'' You never answer to my calls with ''what?'', what's wrong? Should I come over?'' Andy sounded worried.
'' Oh no, no, everything is okey, just Christmas cookie dough doesn't stick together, should be fine when I start everything from the beginning, no worries'' Sharon tried to sound positive, but looking to the dough she just knew nothing was going to be alright. Sharon just sighed and asked about Andy's day.
'' So, how was your day? Anything interesting?''
'' Oh nothing new or interesting, just watching TV and doing nothing, by the way, where's Rusty?''
'' Oh, he is out with Mikes son and will be having sleepover.''
'' Mm, so what's wrong with the dough, need help?''
''No, no Andy really, I will just start over and I don't want you to go out of your house this late in the evening.''
''It's 6.30pm and who said I will come over, I gonna just call you on face time and you will listen to my instructions.'' Sharon just shaked her head and thought to herself ''Of course, he wouldn't come over… Sharon how stupid, get over your little crush on him. Little? Other little voice asked her. It's not little anymore, it's growing every time you see him…'' Her thoughts were interrupted by Andy's voice.
'' Sharon? Are you still there?'' Andy tried to sound serious. He knew that Sharon liked him, he saw every time she looked at him. It all started In November, when Sharon looked at him a little longer than should, more touches and longer hugs after dinner. And he liked her too, and not just little. He liked to tease her sometimes.
''Yes, yes still here, you know I'm gonna go and make those cookies'' When she didn't hear Andy's response, she looked at phone and saw that he has ended the call.
''What the heck. You know sometimes I don't understand you'' Sharon said to the phone. And now I'm talking to myself, how wonderful. In Sharon's head little voice told her ''You are still doing it''.
"Sharon took wine glass and walked to couch to sit down. After her wine glass was half empty she heard her door bell. She sighed and got up, she had a little feeling that it was Andy. Even thinking that Andy was at her door almost at 7pm made Sharon smile and feel happy. When she opened her door her smile fell. There was no one, when she looked at her left and then right she saw Andy. Oh that men! Andy was standing there grinning at her. Andy just kept smiling at her and said
'' Hi''
''Hello, Lt. Flynn what can I do for you this evening?''Sharon asked Andy with small smile. Both smiled at each other, Sharon standing in her doorway and Andy to her right. Sharon's neighbor 80 year old women, Gertrude come into the view.
''Hello you two'' Gertrude said to Andy and Sharon.
''Hello, Gertrude'' Both said together. Even Andy have met and talked to Sharon's neighbor, going to or from Sharon's condo. Gertrude was slow to understand things for example that they weren't dating or being together. Every time they saw together or separately, Gertrude would always say '' It was nice to see you both, I need to go'' and always and Sharon means ALWAYS will lean in to Sharon whisper not so quietly '' He is very handsome and if I were younger…''
'' Well I have to go, so Sharon enjoy your evening with your boyfriend'' Gertrude said and walked away, Both looked at each other and Andy said'' Well, will you let me in, Captain?''
'' Why would I let you in? You hung up on me.'' And made move to close the door.
When she again didn't hear answer, she looked up and saw Andy still leaning on the wall, smiling at her. Of course, Sharon didn't want close the door at Andy. Sharon rolled her eye's and opened door's wider to Andy come in. Andy walking into the condo leaned in and said '' I know what you wanted do here'' Smiled and walked in the condo.
Sharon shaked her head and walked in her kitchen and saw Andy washing his hands. When he looked at Sharon standing and looking at him, he said ''Come on Sharon, do you want your kids to have cookies when they arrive? Wash your hands and we gonna make New year cookies!''
''New year cookies?''
''Yeah'' Andy looked at Sharon and smiled. Sharon for seconds stood still and looked at Andy, smiling and went wash her hands.
After hands where washed, Andy said '' Okey, so i will prepere everything, you can take your wine glass and enjoy that.''
''And what i will do?'' Sharon looking at Andy asked.
''Enjoy your wine and when i will need your help i will ask''
''Andy, i can't ask you to do everything, they are my kids'' Sharon said to Andy, who already took flour, baking powder and butter, eggs and put them on kitchen counter.
'' We are best friends, you always help me, go with me to my family events and now is time i help you'' Andy said looking at Sharon who stood next to kitchen counter, looking at him and saying nothing.
'' Fine, but at least let me help you'' Sharon said to Andy, smiling
'' Fine, do you have pure vanilla extract?''
'' That i don't have''
''That's okey, i took one from my house''
''How did you... nevermind'' Sharon tought how he knew that she didn't have one? She wasn't profesional chef, but Christmas cookies she liked to bake and they were always delicious, at least everyone told her so.
Andy took bowl and started to make cookie dough. After Andy had started and Sharon got bored just standing and looking what Andy was doing she said
''You know, we made a deal that i will help you, and right now you are doing everything''
'' Okey you can help me, could you please give me flour?''
Sharon took flour and passed to Andy.
After how Andy had said earlier ,New years cookies were made, just needed to put in the oven, Andy looked at Sharon and chuckled. When Sharon heard that Andy laughed at her quietly she asked ''What?''.
Andy said '' You have flour on your face''
'' Where?'' Sharon asked and tride to wipe her face with her hands, but made it worse, because her hands where with flour. when Andy started laughing more, Sharon looked at Andy and said '' You think it's funny, you know what? You have flour on your face too!'' Sharon took in her hands flour and trew them in Andy's face. Andy took flour too and trew them to Sharon. After were almost white Sharon yelled laughing '' Okey, stop, stop, Andy!''. When Sharon had said stop Andy had in hands flour, he was ready to trew them at Sharon, but stoped. Andy eyed her and asked ''Really?''.
''Yes, really, Andy look at everything! Everything is white!'' Sharon said a little bit annoyed.
''Okey, fine, but it wasn't my fault!'' Andy said and the flour down, acting like he was sad, but in reality he wanted to laugh/
''You started it!'' Sharon said a little bit louder than she wanted, she was annoyed, but all this situation was funny.
'' You trew first''
'' No, i didn't!'' Sharon said looking at Andy. After Andy didn't say something, just kept looking at Sharon, they both started laughing.
''Ohh... this situation... is... so funny...oh God'' Sharon said laughing.
''Oh God, my cheeks'' After a while Sharon said.
After both of them took control of their laughter, they looked at the kitchen. Everywere was flour, Andy said '' God, this is a mess, it will take time to clean everything''
''Then we need to start cleaning! But first we need to put these in the oven'' Sharon said and took the cookies to put in the oven.
After kitchen was cleaned and cookies were baked, both were sitting on the couch.
''You know we need to try some of the cookies''Andy said breaking the comfortable silence between the two of them, they were sitting not too far to each other, but not too close.
'' Yup, just wait here, do you want tea or coffee?''
''Tea, please'' Andy answered.
When Sharon came back, she put Andy's tea on the small table what was next to the couch and got back to the kitchen to take the cookies. When she got back from kitchen she sat down a little bit closer this time ro Andy, and he notice it, smiled and put his hands around her shoulders.
When Sharon took first bite she said to Andy
''They are delicious! ''
''Jup'' Andy said with full mouth.
''I just don't understand why the dough didn't stick together when i made it, but when you made it it did! And i did everything like you did! How is that even possible?''
''I don't know, even sometimes profesionals make mistakes'' Andy said, shrugged and looked at Sharon.
Both looked at each other and Sharon sighned starting ''Andy, i think... that we should talk...about...''
''Us'' Andy finishing her sentence. Sharon nodded.
'' I think our relationship is a past the point... only best friends'' Sharon said, not looking at Andy. For her, this was hard, put her heart again out there, her heart was over the years broken again and again, but then Andy came into her life and over the years the pieces where put again together. Andy made her happy, more happy than she has ever felt in her life. And over the years Andy had made her fall in love with him.
''Sharon, i like you, a lot and i want to make you the happiest women on the earth. I care about you and i want to see you everytime, everyday for rest of my life. ''
''I care about you too. And i like you very much. How about we go...on a dinner next weekend and see how things go?'' Sharon asked Andy, again not looking at him, and bitting on her lip. Andy put his hand on her cheek, and made Sharon to look at him and said ,small smile on his lips '' Shouldn't i ask you that?''
Sharon shruged and kissed Andy softly. Both smiled and put their forheads together. Comfortable silence fell in the living room, Andy didn't want it break it, but he should go to home.
''I should go''
''Yes, of course i can't keep you here forever.'' Sharon smiled at Andy.
When both were at Sharons condos door, Sharon asked '' I will go with you to your car''
''Sharon you don't have to''
''I just want more time with you'' Sharon shyly said and blushed.
''Come on'' Andy said smiling and taking Sharon's hand in his.
When Sharon come back in her condo, she saw where on the tabe still was standing both their tea's, she smiled, took the cups and walked into the kitchen. When she washed the cups and turned to look at the cookies and smiled. The evening had started not the best for her, but had ended the best way it could.
