I skewed the prompt a little...

Song
Once mugs were drained, and wine was poured and Christmas cake demolished,
Young Arthur stood, and cleared his throat, his features scrubbed and polished.
His hands clasped tight behind his back, as snowflakes fell and glistened
Outside on frosted cobbled streets; inside, all hushed and listened.

He sang, his clear and tuneful voice, rang out like bells a-pealing,
Those well loved Yuletide songs of old, the Christmas tale revealing
The greatest stories ever told, in ancient rhyme, and fable;
The little town of Bethlehem, an ox, an ass, a stable.
~0~
With silent nights and halls bedecked with mistletoe and holly,
And Christmas trees, and first Noels, and seasons to be jolly,
And kings and shepherds bearing gifts and heralds, angels singing,
And jingle bells and one horse sleighs, the sound of church bells ringing.
~0~
And snow which fell at Christmastide, so deep and crisp and even,
And celebrations, near and far; Saint Nicholas, Saint Stephen,
And ancient shared traditions, and a rest from daily labour,
And comfort, joy and peace bestowed on stranger, friend and neighbour.

Young Arthur stopped, his throat was dry; heard wild applause soon after,
Then all at Baker Street joined in, with tears and joyous laughter.
He smiled, and sang throughout the night, until pale day was dawning.
Then walked amidst the winter's snow, a cold and frosty morning.
