Chapter 4.

"So who's going with you to the market?" Sandy asked sitting on the edge of JJ's bed.

JJ looked at her mom raising her brow as she took her jumper off the hanger. "Mom"

"What?" Sandy asked smiling at her.

"Myself, Henry, Emily Aaron, and Jack," JJ said pulling the jumper on.

"Huh" Sandy looked at her.

"What's with the huh?" JJ said sitting next to her.

"Nothing, I just thought that maybe Will was going with you that's all"

"Mom," JJ said letting out a huge sigh.

"You can't say there isn't something between you two, there always was"

"That was over a decade ago mom." JJ sighed.

"And what you can't say he didn't take you by surprise the other day." Sandy looked at her,

"I mean he's good looking and I guess he sort of has a thing" JJ smiled to herself.

"Just let yourself go a little sweetie it's been four long years," Sandy said squeezing her hand.

"We're old friends that's it" JJ looked at her

"Whatever you say, and also wrap up warm, it gets pretty cold out there" Sandy smiled.

"You joining us?" JJ asked.

"Maybe, I'm meeting a friend there so I may bump into you all " Sandy said getting up.

"Ok, I better go make sure he's dressed" JJ shook her head.

"Hey, buddy look who it is" JJ smiled holding Henry's hand.

"Aunt Em" Henry smiled.

"Well haven't you grown" Emily smiled hugging him.

JJ shook her head, hugging Aaron. "It's good to see you"

"You too, you look well" Aaron smiled returning the hug. "And that can't be Jack." JJ smiled.

"Hi, Jen" Jack smiled.

" This is Henry" She smiled.

"Hi Henry," Jack said.

"Hi" Henry whispered hiding behind JJ's leg.

"It's ok buddy, Jack's your friend ok" JJ bent down to Henry's level.

Henry nodded, "Let me know if you get tired of walking ok?" JJ said to him.

"Yes Mommy" He nodded.

"Ok let's go" Emily smiled watching as Aaron walked in front with the boys.

"He will be fine" Emily smiled.

"Yeah he can be super shy" JJ shook her head.

"Well, Jack will have him chatting in no time" Emily laughed.

"Mommy, feed animals?" Henry asked.

JJ smiled, "You want to feed the reindeer?"

Henry nodded, "Ok, You see that bag of carrots grab some for me" JJ smiled watching him.

"He's big" Henry looked at his mom.

JJ bent down next to him, " All you have to do is put the carrot near his mouth" JJ took Henry's arm, holding it while the reindeer sniffed it and took a bite.

"It tickles" Henry giggled.

"See" JJ smiled, kissing his head, "He likes you"

"Can we feed him more"? Henry asked.

"Sure little man" JJ smiled, watching as Henry grabbed more carrots.

"Now that's some well-fed Reindeer" Will spoke.

JJ looked around smiling "Hey"

"Hey" Will smiled back.

"Sorry I'm late, had to close up the tree lot" Will spoke.

JJ looked at Emily shaking her head. "It's fine" Emily winked.

"Aaron, just went to get in line for us all some hot drinks, you guys grab us a table." Emily smiled.

"Mommy look, he likes it," Henry said.

"You did great little man, you ready for some hot chocolate?"

Henry nodded, taking her hand as they all made there way over to Aaron, Sitting down at an empty table, JJ sat Henry in her lap, as Jack and Will sat opposite her.

"So you come here every year?" JJ asked.

"Yeah, Keeps me busy," Will said.

"Well, I'm glad you could join us" JJ looked at him smiling.

"Me too" Will smiled at her.

"Hot Chocolates for everyone" Emily smiled placing the tray down on the table.

"Careful buddy give it a few minutes to cool down," JJ said

Taking a sip, Henry smiled to himself. , JJ looked at Will giving him a quick smile.

"That good?" Will asked.

Henry nodded. "Tasty"

JJ smiled wrapping her arms around him. "You having fun?" JJ whispered.

Henry nodded, "I tired" he whispered,

"We will head home after this" JJ kissed his cheek.

Will watched them closely, watching the interaction between them, finishing up their drinks, JJ watched as Henry clung to her.

"Guy's were going to head out, someone's tired" JJ smiled softly.

"Ok, call me later" Emily smiled.

"You want some company?" Will asked.

JJ nodded, "Sure, that sounds good"

JJ carried Henry on her hip as he fell asleep on the walk home.

"It really does suit you, you know" Will smiled his hands tucked tightly into his pockets

"What does?" JJ asked, rubbing Henry's back.

"You being a mom" Will spoke softly.

JJ looked at him, "I wouldn't change it for the world"

"I remember when we used to lay in bed all day and picture what our perfect families would look like" Will laughed to himself.

JJ laughed with him. "That was a very long time ago"

"Not that long ago" Will looked at her.

JJ nodded, "Can you get the keys out of my bag?" JJ asked.

Will nodded, taking the key's he opened the door following behind JJ. Laying Henry down on the sofa, she wrapped the blanket over him following Will into the kitchen.

"Beer?" JJ asked.

Will nodded, "Sure"

"So, I promised Henry we could watch some Christmas movies tonight you're welcome to stay, my mom's out so," JJ said handing him the beer.

Will nodded, "No that sounds perfect actually, order a pizza?"

JJ nodded, "Pizza It is"

"Do you remember when we used to do this every Friday night?" Will said throwing the blanket over them.

JJ smiled widely, "All the popcorn and cheesy movies"

Will smiled, "Only because you were too chicken for the scary ones"

JJ shook her head, "Oh shut up"

"Mommy," Henry said opening his eyes.

"Yeah, little man?" JJ asked.

"Film time?" Henry smiled cuddling close to her.

"Yes, pizza is on its way too" JJ ruffled his hair.

"Will" Henry smiled.

"Hi, Henry" Will smiled widely.

Looking away from the tv screen Will smiled, noticing that JJ and Henry had fallen asleep, he knew he should get going soon but he had to admit to himself he was having fun hanging out with JJ again.

"JJ" Will whispered moving her hair out of her face.

"Mmm" JJ opened her eyes realizing she was leaning on Will. "Sorry"

"No, need to be," He said moving his hand down her cheek.

JJ licked her lips."Will"

"Yeah" He smiled.

JJ sighed. "We can't do this"

"Do what?" He asked.

"You know what," JJ said pulling away.

"JJ, how do you know when you won't even give it a shot," Will said looking at her.

"Because" She raised her voice, quickly lowering it seeing Henry stir.

"Now isn't a good time" JJ sighed.

"Never will be" Will whispered.

JJ looked at him crossing her arms over her chest.

"You know I was willing to make us work right, back then?" Will looked at her.

JJ licked her lips. "What across the country, weekends, Will we both know it wouldn't have"

"NO!" Will yelled, stopping. "You didn't want it too, cause you're still the same old JJ"

"What does that mean?" JJ looked at him.

"You always ran away from me, you never would admit it, but we made a great couple JJ, but no, you wouldn't commit then you went off and did all the things we were meant to do together"

JJ felt a tear roll down her cheek. "You need to leave"

"Just tell me one thing, Did you ever love me," Will asked.

JJ opened her mouth, quickly stopping herself from speaking.

"Yeah, that's what I thought" Will sighed. "Take care JJ"

Hearing the door close, JJ sat on the sofa feeling the tears fall down her cheek.
