Standing in the kitchen Kate folded her arms, locked in a battle with Nicole and Grace over the new snack ruled.

"This is so not fair" Nicole moaned

"well you guys should have raided the cupboards every other hour for snacks" Kate said

"that was Grace Not me!" Nicole protested

"and you did, you stole mommy's Moro bar" Grace called back

"I did not. You stole some first"

"no, I didn't" Grace wailed

"Enough!" Kate called "the three of you all were on snack hunts all day and this is the result. This is how it's going to be you will get $50 each morning and that is what you will use to get your snacks. The prices are on the cupboard." she indicated to the list on the cupboard and slid two purses across the table.

Both girls made their way over to the cupboard to look at the so-called price list.

"mum this is extortion" Nicole turned "$40 for a bag of chips"

"what?" Grace jumped up for a better look. "mummy" she cried at the realisation that all her favourites were on the expensive side.

"it is more than enough for 2 snacks and a drink you just have to be sensible and choose wisely"

"so your stopping us from having drinks now as well" Nicole called dramatically

"Nicole there is water in the tap that is free" Kate added.

"this is like so unfair" Nicole flounced out

"yeah" Grace called stomping after her big sister.

"well unfortunately that's the way its going to be" Kate called after them sitting down on the stools. it was a rear occurrence that the girls got on and agreed with each other. Sighing she rubbed the back of her neck, she just hoped that they would come round.

"how did it go?" Mike asked walking in flicking the switch on the kettle

"well not great if I am honest" she sighed turning to face him

"it cant have been that bad" Mike

"yeah it is. I think we may have a mutiny on our hands because Grace and Nicole are plotting something together. They both agreed and flounced off together" she said

"okay now that is scary" he grinned

"tell me about it. It would have been easier if I had a little help and support so I wasn't looking like the bad guy"

"yeah sorry but I did have a very important call to make. Do you fancy a brew?" he asked#

"i would love one" she smiled watching him.

"why don't I go up and have a word with them."

"you can do. Just don't paint me as the bad guy" she said

"would I do that" he said mock hurt placing her coffee in front of her walking to the door.

Sitting at the bench Kate Smiled as Midnight walked along the counter. Reaching out she tried to stroke the tiny black kitten.

"well at least you are not mad at me" she smiled as the kitten headbutted Kates hand.

Midnight looked up starring at Kate through huge green eyes. Letting out a pitiful mew which Kate had fast learnt meant she wanted treats.

"no" she said, looking deep in to the kitten's eyes

Trotting along the counter Midnight jumped down on to Kates lap before jumping to the floor walking along to the window where the sun was coming through.

Sighing even the cat was constantly on munchie hunts. She couldn't win hopefully this lockdown would be over soon and the kids would be back at school but she seriously doubted it she would just have to wait and see.

so just a little short chapter on how the kids reacted to the tuckshop. Chirs didn't really notice as he Is only three. hope you like it and I have more lockdown stuff planned that should make life more intresting for Mike and Kate xx
