"Use Dark Magic Attack" Yugi says as he watches the Dark Magician face off against "Yami"
"As you wish thy master" replies the Magician as he fires off a purple energy blast at "Yami"
"A useless attack" "Yami" says as he uses his lightsaber to split the attack in half, sending it in two directions.
"The dark side of the force can grant you so much power, Yugi" He says. "Come and join me and together we can not only find a way home, but get back the Pharaoh's memories.
"No," Yugi replies. "I may not know much about the force, but I know that using darkness is never an option, no matter how tough the situation is. (He's recalling the Orichalcos Saga).
" Besides the Pharaoh wouldn't want this to happen, he would want us to remain innocent and pure and never fall like he did before" Yugi says
"Then you will never be able to repay your debt to the Pharaoh and he will be stuck here for another 3,000 years" "Yami" says as he uses the force to grab Yugi and throw him into a wall and then uses his lightsaber to attack the Dark Magician, who in turn responds by using his scepter to block his attack.
"This isn't going well at all," Yugi says in his mind. "If I am going to win this, then I am going to need a little bit of extra help and to believe in the heart of the cards or well the heart of the force"
Yugi then begins to concentrate and brings the Force around him as the Eye of Anubis glows underneath his golden crown.
"I summon Buster Blader" cries Yugi as a warrior branded in armor in a similar color as the Dark Magician is summoned to the field.
"Another monster Yugi" "Yami" says in a mocking tone. "Summon as many monsters as you wish, you will never be able to defeat me or the dark side of the force"
"Maybe or Maybe not" Yugi replies. "But, I've put my faith in the heart of the force and I believe we can win this fight"
"The only way to win is to join me" "Yami says". "Your fears and thoughts betray you Yugi. You know you're too weak to defeat me without the Pharaoh and will always be weak even when you do find his lost memories"
"Your right…" Yugi says. "I'm not as strong as the Pharaoh nor as brave as him either, but the one thing he taught me to do is believe in myself and the heart of the force and I'll prove it too you right now"
"I activate Polymerization" Yugi cries as the silhouette of the card forms behind him
"Nani?" "Yami" says
"I now fuse my Dark Magician and Buster to create…..The Dark Paladin" Yugi says as a creature in green and orange armor carrying a sword is summoned to the field.
"I am here to serve you, my king. Let us defeat this mongrel together" The Paladin says
"YOU WILL NEVER DEFEAT ME YUGI" "Yami" says. "YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A SCARED LITTLE BOY WHO HIDES BEHIND THE PHARAOH"S SHADOW". "Yami" begins to charge at Yugi, swinging his saber at him, but missing every time.
"You're right," Yugi says while dodging his attacks. "I may never grow out of the Pharaoh's shadow and my fears/doubts will always be there, but as long as I believe in the heart of the cards & force and all of my friends, then nothing can ever stop me"
"Dark Paladin…..DIFFUSION WAVE MOTION" Yugi cries as the Paladin holds his sword towards the sky and releases an energy wave that not only destroys "Yami", but destroys his lightsaber as well.
"NOOOOO" "Yami" cries as the wave sends him crashing back into an icy wall. "How can this be…. I was defeated by this little brat...impossible"
"Nothing is impossible as long as you have a little bit faith in yourself" Yugi says
"HAHAHAH" "Yami" laughs out in spite "I have to say little Yugi, I am impressed that you defeated me, but don't worry this isn't the last time you'll see me. I promise you it won't be"
"Yami" then proceeds to disappear along with his lightsaber and a bright light fills the room, blinding Yugi and the Paladin for a moment before it dies down.
"Yugi? YUGI? Can you hear me?" The Pharaoh asks
"Yami, is it really you?" Yugi says
"What do you mean?" Yami retorts
"Quick, name the most embarrassing thing I've ever made you do" Yugi says
"When you made me switch places with you in the middle of the sidewalk and had Tea look at me like I was an utter fool" Yami replies in a pouting tone
"Yep this is you alright" Yugi says "Good to have you back"
"What do you mean Yugi? What happened?" Yami asks
"I'll explain later," Yugi says. "Right now, we need to make this lightsaber and get back to Ahsoka"
Yugi then sees a shining red light coming from where "Dark Yami" had disappeared from. He picks up a shining red crystal from the spot and examines it closely.
"What is it Yugi?" Yami asks
"I don't know Pharaoh, but I have a feeling it will come in handy for crafting the lightsaber" Yugi says
Yugi and the Paladin then notice that the icy wall that "Dark Yami" had been thrown into has revealed some sort of crack in between it and they decide to go into it. Once the two squeeze out of the crack, they are presented to a room with a giant blue crystal on the ceiling and a workbench off on the far right corner.
"Wow" Yugi replies as he stares up at the giant crystal. He then begins to feel a slight tremor within the force, telling him to hit the crystal with an attack.
"Dark Paladin….use Diffusion Wave Motion on that crystal" Yugi says
"As you wish, my king" The Paladin says as he once again holds up his sword as an energy wave is dispelled off of it, causing a tiny blue shard to fall off of the crystal into Yugi's hand.
Yugi then feels another tremor telling him to go to the workbench and use the red and blue crystals to craft his lightsaber. He then walks over to the bench and places the two crystals on the bench. Yugi finds a material that is similar to the Millennium Puzzle and begins to craft his lightsaber together.
Ahsoka's POV
It's been nearly an hour since Yugi has been in there….Maybe I should go check on him?...No... Every Jedi's trip to Illum is different from the last. I know Yugi will come out of there alright.
As Ahsoka says this thought in her mind, the giant doors from the cave open, revealing Yugi with a few burn marks and tears in his Jedi robes, but Yugi has a big smile on his face. Ahsoka then runs up to Yugi and hugs him much to the amusement of Yami and then lets him go before she begins to blush.
"So where is it?" Ahsoka asks
Yugi then pulls out a golden double bladed lightsaber. He then turns it on and to Ahsoka's surprise….The blades are blue and red! The signs of both a Jedi & a Sith. This is the first time in Jedi history that anyone has a blade that harbors both the light and dark side of the force
"Yugi...That's incredible," Ahsoka says in astonishment. "This material… where did you get it from?"
"I found it in the cave," Yugi says. "It was just sitting on the workbench and I felt the Force guiding me, telling me to pick it up and use it.
"Well the Force does work in mysterious ways" Ahsoka says. "Speaking of which, what happened to your clothes?"
"That's a very long story, you might wanna sit down for this" Yugi replies
Yugi then begins to tell Ahsoka of how the Millennium Puzzle disappeared once he entered the cave and he was confronted by "Dark Yami". He explains that this version of "Yami" was quite buff and had a red lightsaber. Yugi then goes on to explain that the Dark Magician & Buster Blader came to his aid and fused into the Dark Paladin in order to defeat "Dark Yami". He also tells her that the red crystal came from "Dark Yami" as well.
"Wow Yugi" Ahsoka says. "That's pretty amazing. It is always stated that a Jedi's adventure to getting their Lightsaber is different from the last and yours was quite different"
"Yeah, it is certainly something I'll never forget," Yugi says as he begins to remember what "Dark Yami" said during their duel.
"You'll NEVER get the Pharaoh's memories back"
"He's wrong," Yugi says. "I will help Yami get his memories back no matter what"
"So, are you ready to go back to Coruscant?" Ahsoka says bringing Yugi back from out of his thoughts
"Yep I'm all ready" Yugi replies. "I kind of want to see the reaction of Anakin and the Council's reactions"
"So do I" Ahsoka says
The two padawans then board their ship and make their way back to Coruscant, unbeknownst to them that a shadowy figure in the distance was watching them take off. Once the Padawans take off from Illum, Ahsoka readies the hyperdrive and they take off for their destination.
"Yugi, can I ask you something?" asked Yami
"Yeah, what's up Pharaoh" Yugi replies
"This "Dark Yami"...Do you believe one of us will end up like him and do you really believe you won't be able to help me find my memories?" Yami asks
"Sometimes I feel like I'm not doing enough to help you," Yugi says. "I have a very big debt to pay off by helping you because you've done so much for me and no, I don't believe either of us will end up like him because we have our beliefs in the heart of the cards".
"Don't you mean in the heart of the Force" Yami says while giving his other self a slight smile
The padawans then come out of hyperspace and arrive back on Coruscant. Once they land in the docking bay, they ask one of the clones where Anakin or Yoda are. The clone tells them that Anakin is with a certain person in their office, while Yooda is with the council in an important meeting.
Ahsoka thanks the clone and guides Yugi to where Anakin is. Ahsoka shows Yugi to a hallway filled with different statues and paintings depicting something he could not decipher.
"Yugi...This feeling, this coldness…..I don't think we should be here" Yami says
"Me neither" Yugi says. The unyielding cold along with hatred is overwhelming, but they came to see Anakin, so they'll have to deal with it.
The doors open revealing Anakin speaking to an eldery man in a velvet uniform and a receding hairline.
"Ahsoka. Yugi. Welcome back" Anakin says. "I see you also got yourself your lightsaber Yugi, but before we see it, let me introduce you to someone I consider to be a friend and a father figure as well".
"Meet Chancellor Sheev Palpatine"
