Warning: This chapter is still a testing water phase because I took one of the Guest Reviews into consideration. I really can't expect to ask whether you are okay with it or not when nothing was given about the story. Therefore, I decided to post the very first chapter of this story. Chapters will be short in length, around 1K - 2K words since I tend to drag things out so I decided to give it a different approach this time. If you noticed the fast-paced time in different chapters, please do not be alarmed. One more question: I have emails stating that Guest reviewed but why do they not appear in my reviews? Am I going bonkers here? Testing Water Phase Starts Now! Please leave me a review if you are, in the very least, interested just by this short chapter!

Guest - I took your words into consideration and had this Chapter posted. Thank You for the review, I appreciate it a lot! So, what do you think of this story now that a little is revealed? Would you be interested?

FafaCute - When I say the characters will act differently, I mean really differently. That's why I wanted readers to tear off the mindset you have on them. I set up in the previous chapter that Rukia is a strong character in my mind and in this story, she might be the weakest person to exist. I mean no offense to Rukia since she's my favorite character but that's how it is. If you didn't get it, read on and you might get it.

Guest - I hope you would stay interested after reading this Chapter so we shall see. Have fun reading this Chapter!

Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach or its characters.

She squeezed her Dad's hands, desperation lingering in her gaze, her heart in her throat. It was heart-wrenching for her to see him like this, laying unconscious on a hospital bed, with tubes attached to his arms and chest, machines beeping beside him and an oxygen mask covering his face. Tears were rolling down her cheeks but knowing her Dad would be angered if he knew she was crying because of him, she wiped those tears away. Her Dad was always a constant in her life, he was always the anchor that held the whole family together, the pillar of strength that Rukia and her brothers always needed. Seeing him in this state was what made the whole ordeal difficult. "Rukia."

Gazing up at Shuuhei, Rukia embraced him, oblivious to the fact that Shuuhei gazed at Rukia uneasily. "Nii-san, what did the doctor say?"

Gazing at Ukitake, Shuuhei sighed before placing a hand on Rukia's shoulder. "Come on, let's step outside for a while."

Nodding, Rukia placed a kiss on Ukitake's forehead, telling him that she would be back to see him later and stepped out of the room with Shuuhei. In the florescent light of the hospital, her gaze landed on Shuuhei as soon as they were out of the hospital room. Looking at his disheveled hair and the deep purple circle under his eyes, Rukia instantly knew that Shuuhei had a rough day.

"Listen, Rukia..." Shuuhei wrapped his hands around Rukia's and took a hold of it, reminding Rukia of her childhood days when Shuuhei would hold her hand just like that when she was afraid of the dark. For some reasons, that unnerved Rukia. "I need you to stay calm, okay?" Rukia's gaze remain fixated on Shuuhei. "Stay strong. The news..." There was a moment of hesitation. "It's pretty rough."

Knowing better than to panic in front of Shuuhei because quite frankly, he doesn't need panicking Rukia right now, Rukia nodded and took a deep breath, steadying herself. "Otou-San..." Hesitation was heard in Shuuhei's voice before his gaze turned to the ceiling, as if to stop himself from crying and breaking down in front of Rukia. "He had a stroke." Tears threatened to fall as soon as the news was delivered. "The doctors are saying they don't know how intense it has affected him yet, but they think the ALS had something to do with it."

Taking a few deep breaths to calm herself down after the news was delivered, she asked and it was clear that desperation was clinging into her tone. "What can we do?"

"We get some rest." Yumichika, Rukia's other brother, said from behind Rukia and gave her a hug to which she reciprocated before the sentence sunk in. Before she could protest Yumichika's idea, he shook his head. "The doctors are still doing some tests."

Shuuhei and Yumichika gave other meaningful looks and Rukia knew that they were hiding something from her. At that moment, she refused to be ignorant of Ukitake's condition as her eyes hardened. "What?" Rukia demanded. "What are you hiding from me?"

Shuuhei shook his head, attempting to pacify Rukia. "You have an interview coming up, don't you?" Rukia was silent and Shuuhei took it as a cue to continue. "Go home and get some sleep. We will call you once we know more of Dad's condition, alright?"

Rukia sighed. It was more than obvious that she didn't want to leave but her brothers were right. It was important that she nailed this interview, after all. Saying their goodbyes, Rukia walked out into the cold night air, dread filling her stomach. A question haunted her as she made her way back: Was there nothing she could do?

Gazing annoyingly beside him, the girl next to him squealed as he spun the steering wheel, sending the car into a sharp turn just around the corner. The girl laughed, high off of speed and numerous bottles of champagne by her side.

"Kurosaki-kun!" The girl bit her lips, her hands running up Ichigo's thighs. Revving the engine and sending his Lamborghini speeding down the scenic roads of Japan, he watched as the woman beside him was high and seemed to be caressing his body. Not having any reaction out of it but having fun for the sake of stress relief, he grinned as the woman unzipped his pants and proceeded to take him in her mouth. "Kurosaki-kun..."

In reality, he wasn't familiar with her. Their interactions consisted of him bringing her home several times for a quick fuck. Damn, now that he thinks of it, he doesn't even know her name but is satisfied for quick fucks with her here and there. Those who would have seen Ichigo right now will have him cursed but right now, he is enjoying life. Life without responsibilities to a multi-million dollar company and life without annoying Dads breathing down your neck. So deep in thought was Ichigo that he rushed past a red light without noticing and sirens began to ring in the nearby distance, causing Ichigo to pull over, watching the flashlights in the rearview mirror. "For fuck's sake..."

"Kurosaki-kun...?"

Said girl began to look up but Ichigo gave her a look. "Did I say you could stop?" Eager to please, the girl continued her efforts. Gazing at the cop that was getting out of the police car and was currently making his way over to him, Ichigo smirked.

Some information about ALS:

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, orALS, is a progressive nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control.

I inserted a tiny scene of sex in there (M-Rated) and this was what I meant when I said they acted differently. Ukitake has an incurable disease. Instead of Byakuya being Rukia's Brother, Shuuhei and Yumichika took the role. Weird, I know. But, in my mindset, I have some favouritism for Byakuya and didn't want him to suffer with Shuuhei or Yumichika. Trust me, I have imagined that scene and it's not pretty. XD Is it acceptable? please leave a review and let me know what you guys think of it!
