Welp, seems as if I'll be the first to break new ground. Now before I begin this story, as usual let me remind you that I DO NOT, Own either resources I used for this story. That being, Frozen (Owned by Disney) Or Doki Doki Literature Club. And as for main character from DDLC, it will be… Monika. Sorry to all those who wanted someone else, if you don't want to see it you could read something else. But to those who will still read this, raise your swords for the coronation as we begin the Prologue of, "Doki Doki Frozen Emerald".
(Doki Doki Literature Club Space Room)
As Monika sat in the Space Room after the game got intentionally erased by her for like the two millionth time, she looked off into the void of space ponding to how she would ever find a way out. 'All I wanted was someone to love and be with and who will love me in return even if we are separated by screen… IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!' Monika thought as she began to pace around the room.
But as she walked around the room for the third time, as she looked down to the floor, she saw what looked like flowers and vines of ivy on the floor as a sort of walkway. At first, she became confused as she tried to step off it thinking she unintentionally messed with the game's code again. But as she stepped back more flowers and ivy formed like it was following her movements.
"Whats going on?!" Monika said to no one in particular when suddenly a tulip grew from the floor from where the palm of her hand was aiming at and bloomed in front of her like magic. Monika looked to her hands confused as to how she managed to do this.
"Whats happening to me?!" Monika cried out as she teared up with fear as she saw cherry blossoms fall around her. When she saw this, she got spooked when suddenly from a step backwards, streams of vines blooming with flowers and ivy grew across the floor and up the walls of the space room creating a beauty that the room never had before.
As Monika looked to her hands, she saw a faint green aura coming from them. "This can't be part of the game… Did I always have this?" Monika said to herself after managing to calm herself a bit. Then as a test she held her hand out and flicked it as a large blue tulip grew from the already vine covered floor as it grew almost as tall as Monika and bloomed in front of her.
"This is… incredible!" Monika said to herself again as she looked to her hands still glowing in a faint green aura. "wait until the club hears about…" Suddenly before she could finish the room glowed white as a tear in reality formed creating a sort of portal that began to suck her in she tried to grab onto one of the vines that was still covering the floor but it broke off as she then got sucked through the tear in reality.
After the light vanished the most of the vines and flowers withered at a fast speed as they then vanished without a trace and all that was left was a single small blue tulip on the desk where Monika used to sit and talk to the MC when in Act 3.
(An Unknown Gamer POV)
As I then downloaded Doki Doki Literature Club after seeing a youtuber partly play it and hearing how popular it was lately, I wondered as to how a visual novel that looked like a dating sim would have gained to much popularity. 'Four girls and you choosing who you'd want to be with?' that sounded like my kind of game.
As the Download finished, I launched the game as I saw the Salvato Team logo and the disclaimer as it then brought me to the menu screen only to my surprise to see only three girls that being Sayori, Yuri, and Natsuki. But the fourth was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey what gives?! I thought there were four girls not three!" I said to myself as I tried to start the game anyway. But all I got was Sayori wondering what was going on and then just like that the game ended with a deletion of the rest of the characters.
"What?! This can't be it!" I said as I reinstalled the game and checked the files to make sure the download wasn't corrupted. As I searched the character files, I only found file names of the three girls I saw on the title screen but still the fourth was nowhere to be seen.
"Where the heck is the fourth girl's file?!" I said when suddenly my phone's notification for a gaming news update came up but when I looked at it, I saw I wasn't the only one with this problem. Apparently the fourth girl know as Monika seemed to have completely vanished from the game as many are saying as a worldwide bug in the game.
"This doesn't seem good…" I said as I then saw a video of Dan Salvato, the creator of Doki Doki Literature Club, announcing that he had no idea how this happened and until he could fix this bug, the game would no longer be available to anyone.
"You've got to be kidding me. I was so eager to play it." I sadly said as I started up some World of Warcraft to make up for this. But my mind still wondered… What did happen to Monika…
(A Forest clearing somewhere unknown)
Monika finally gained conscious as she looked around to see grass and trees around her. She then looked to her hands noticing they weren't in 2-D anymore. "Wait… I'm I finally?!…" Monika felt around herself and even pinched herself just to be sure.
"I… I'm free! I'm finally free from that game at last!" Monika cried out as a flock of blue jays circled above her then continued on. But then she began to wonder something. As she concentrated, she tried to get the command bar she was used to appear but to her surprise no luck.
"I guess I have no power anymore…" Monika said to herself as she then flicked her hand as a bundle of flowers bloomed around her to her amazement. She looked to her hands as she saw the glowing green aura she had before.
"Well… at least I didn't loose all the powers I had." Monika said to herself as she looked around trying to find out where she was. She then walked though a few bushes as she saw what looked like a kingdom sitting by a fjord and plenty of towns folk moving around.
"Sigh civilization. At least that's a good start." Monika said as she started to walk. Suddenly she then tripped and fell down a slope as she fell through bushes and tumbled through the grass until she stopped just at a cobblestone pathway that lead to town. She managed to get up and brush herself off but her uniform from the game was now littered with rips and tears. Yet strangely her bow stayed intact
"I need to be more careful…" Monika said to herself with an embarrassed smile as she then proceeded into the strange kingdom. As she walked around, she saw lots of people celebrating like an event was happening. She then walked up to a woman with an white and blue belt ballgown and quite impressive swirly blue hair who was leaving what looked like a clothing shop with a hanging sign showing three diamonds.
"Hello." Monika said as the woman looked to her as she gasped at the sight of the tattered clothes.
"Oh dear, you poor thing what happened?" The woman asked as she looked to Monika's tattered clothes.
"Umm I had a bit of a fall through some bushes and it ripped my uniform." Monika said as the woman then suddenly started to drag her inside the same shop the woman was about to leave. "Wha…?! What are you doing?!" Monika yelped in surprise as she got placed onto a podium as the woman took her measurements.
"I can't allow something as atrocious as this stand on the day of the coronation!" The woman said as she then searched her mannequins for a replacement of Monika's clothing.
'Coronation? Is that why this town is so lively?' Monika pondered as the woman then placed a folded outfit in her hands and shoved her into one of the clothing booths to change.
"Try it on for size my dear!" The woman called from outside as Monika, who was still in a shock from this, obeyed and changed.
(Timeskip… Not Sorry)
As Monika stepped out, she was now in what looked like a long dress that had about 8-inch-long cut-off sleeves that attached to it and emeralds on the neck of the dress that made them look like a green choker. As for the color the top started in white but merged and changed into a green skirt. She also had flat heeled dress shoes that were green but had a white flower design imprinted on the top. Monika now even had flowers in her hair accompanying her bow that had survived the fall she took. As the woman looked to her, she then smiled with glee.
"My, my, my, darling you look absolutely wonderful!" The woman exclaimed. Monika blushed a bit at this as she looked at the dress.
"Thanks… but I don't have any money to pay for it I'm afraid…" Monika sadly said as she knew she couldn't afford this kind of lovely dress. But as she was about to change back to her tattered uniform the woman stopped her.
"Oh no, no, no darling I insist you keep it. Besides for coronation day any first dress is free of charge." The woman said as Monika looked back to her with another shocked expression.
"I… I don't know what to say… but… thank you." Monika said as the woman the smiled.
"Of course, darling. By the way are you going to the coronation as well?" The woman asked as Monika looked to the castle just off in the distance as she and the woman exited the store.
"I guess… I mean I just got here…" Monika said not knowing what to do.
"Well if you do go perhaps, we'll meet again miss… um… oh dear I don't believe I ever got your name…" The woman said as Monika smiled.
"Monika, my name is Monika." Monika said as she looked to the woman as they headed towards the castle gates that were still shut.
"What a lovely name. as for me most people here in Arendelle call me Rarity." The woman said as they then both saw the gates open. "Oh, dear I must go now. perhaps I'll see you later." Rarity called out as she then headed into the crowd leaving Monika in town as she walked by the dock just as she heard someone singing.
"Nothings in my… WAYYYYYYYYYYY!" Just before Monika knew what was happening, she got bumped into by someone as they almost fell off the dock. But Monika managed to keep her balance as she managed to grab the hand of a girl in a black and green dress similar to Monika's with ginger hair with a white strand.
As Monika managed to pull her up, she got a look at her face it reminded her of Sayori. "Are you ok?" Monika asked as the girl suddenly tried to brush off Monika's dress as an apology.
"I am so… sorry, I mean I wasn't watching where I was going so it was my fault right?" The girl said making an awkward look.
'She really reminds me of Sayori.' Monika thought as she raised her hand in defense. "It's alright no harm done. Besides you would have fallen into the harbor if I hadn't caught you." Monika said as both of them giggled. "I'm Monika by the way." Monika said as the girl smiled.
"Princess Anna of Arendelle. Nice to meet you." the girl said as both of them shook hands.
'This girl is the Princess? This is quite the surprise.' Monika thought as she released Anna's hand.
"So, I assume you mother's becoming queen then?" Monika asked as Anna frowned a bit.
"My mother actually died a few years ago along with my father." Anna said with a frown but before Monika could ask if Anna was to be the new queen the ringing of bells was heard at the castle.
"The bells… The Coronation! I… I better go! I'll… I'll see you there!" Anna called out as she began to run towards the castle. A few seconds later Monika also headed off. She was unsure what was about to happen, and this day had turned out to be quite strange. But as long as she was finally out of Doki Doki Literature Club. She couldn't be happier.
And we have reached the end of the first of a new breaking ground chapter. Monika is finally free and not only has she managed to understand what was happening, but she even met Princess Anna.
