chapter 1
Starscream was on Mars wondering what to do and he was very frustrated even crushing a rock in his frustration. He soon saw it was jewel encrusted on the inside. He put it in his subspace pocket. Then he heard something it sounded like some sort of machine then he got up and looked behind one of the rocks. It was Cybertronian pod and obviously kept whatever it was in stasis for some time. But then the pod beeped again. It's power must've been low.
Starscream carefully began to open the pod and it revealed something. It was newborn sparkling who was in protoform like mode still yet to scan a bot to gain a vehicle mode. He stare for a couple of minutes and then the sparkling started to fuss. Then without thinking twice he picked it up he was soon holding it. Then heard someone coming.
"There you are," Jetfire said.
Starscream sighed. "What do you want?' he asked.
"I was wondering where you went we are suppose to be looking for the minicon," Jetfire said. At the moment he was noticing the sparkling in Starscream's arms. Starscream saw Jetfire wasn't noticing the sparkling too.
Soon Starscream started to count in his head. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and now he says.
Then Jetfire jumped. "Whoa a sparkling where did it come from?" Jetfire said.
"From this pod over here," Starscream said pointing. "It must've crashed here a long time ago and the sparkling was in stasis all this time. I heard it beeping because the power was low, I opened it and saw it, it's still in a deep sleep like state it has yet to wake up," he said.
"Wow this is very important I have to say I thought all the sparklings had been lost to the universe," Jetfire said. "Looks like you found a lucky one," he said. "Now we must fine the minicon, and put the sparkling in you carrying compartment it will be easier that way," he said.
"I just don't feel like helping is the deal," Starscream said.
"What's wrong now you big baby?" Jetfire asked.
"I just been in a bad mood lately," Starscream said.
"That's an understatement," Jetfire said.
"Just I have been battling under Megatron's command for such a long time and then becoming his second in command then he treats me as a piece of trash he wants to throw away, it's all I ever knew since I was a child," Starscream said giving a boulder a crushing kick out of anger. "Now I just feel like I don't know who I even am any more," he said.
"Well that is a hard situation well you are going to help whether you like it or not," Jetfire said locking cuffs on one of Starscream's wrists.
"Hey!" Starscream said.
"This might help get the message across," Jetfire said. "Plus if you keep it up I will have you arrested for insubordination," he said.
Starscream just growled and placed the sparkling in his cockpit. They were continuing their search Jetfire went higher to spot it. "I see him," Starscream asked.
"Who Megatron?" Jetfire asked.
"No the minicon," Starscream said.
"Where?" Jetfire asked.
"There on that asteroid." Starscream said. Jetfire started to head over there and Megatron, Tidal wave and Thrust appeared. The minicon was activated. It was trembling. "Fire!" Starscream told the minicon. "I said fire, the Decepticons will use you as tool of war, but we Autobots will protect you," he said.
"Keep talking," Jetfire said.
"So fire!" Starscream told the minicon.
The minicon understood and fired a shot. Starscream picked him up and placed him in Jetfire's carrying compartment. Then three weapons started to glow then there was a flash. Then all the bots were blown back.
Jetfire and Starscream returned to earth after that. Everyone was relieved things were okay now. The Jetfire nudged Starscream. "Remember what you found?" He asked him.
Starscream nodded and opened his cockpit and pulled out the sparkling. "A sparkling!" they all said.
"Sparkling?" the kids asked.
"It's what we transformers call our infants," Scavenger said.
"So you mean it's what you call your babies?" Carlos asked.
"So it's a baby transformer," Alexis said.
"Yes it looks like one who came from the allspark rather than two sparkmates, so this one will scan a bot and become the model it scans for vehicle mode, and even take the form of similar bot mode," Red alert said.
"It's kind of cute," Fred said.
"Many bots agree that sparklings are cute," Blurr stated.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" Hoist asked.
"I honestly don't know," Starscream answered.
"Well then let's take a look," Red alert said taking the sparkling and carefully removed the diaper plate. "It's a little girl," he said.
"How did she end up on Mars anyway?" Billy asked.
"When the war started several sparklings were launched into space, no one knows where they went or if the were ever found, so in other words they were lost to time itself." Optimus explained.
"Well this one was found so does she stay here?" Fred asked.
"Yes Fred she is going to stay here," Optimus said.
Then sparkling woke up and started crying. "Oh dear," the bots said.
"It's alright," Red alert said rocking the sparkling who just cried louder.
Then Starscream started to rub the sparkling's head who began to calm down under Starscream's touch. "Starscream it seems the sparkling prefers you," Red alert said handing the sparkling back to Starscream who settled down in the seeker's arms.
"I have the feeling that she thinks Starscream is her father," Alexis said.
"I think you are right Alexis," Rad agreed.
"Can I have a closer look?" Alexis asked.
"I guess so," Starscream answered. Then he kneeled down and showed the human the sparkling. The sparkling cooed and smiled she seemed to like Alexis.
"Hello," Alexis said.
The sparkling cooed as Alexis touched her ever so gently. "Looks like she also likes Alexis," Side swipe said.
Then the sparkling started crying all over again. "Starscream what did you do?" Hot shot asked.
"I didn't do anything!" Starscream snapped.
Red alert took a look. "Starscream did nothing wrong, I think she's just hungry," Red alert explained.
"Oh," the bots said.
Red alert soon came back with a bottle of sparkling formula. Starscream took the bottle and started to feed the sparkling who settled down.
"Wow she is hungry look at her go," Fred stated.
"I'll say," Jetfire said.
Then after drinking about half of the bottle she stopped. "Looks like she's finished," Hoist said.
Then the sparkling burped and then went to sleep.
"Nothing like a nap after a big meal," Scavenger stated with a smile.
The sparkling was sleeping soundly curled up next to Starscream's chest. Red alert made a bassinet for the sparkling. He set it up in Starscream's room since the sparkling was pretty attached to him.
Starscream placed her inside and she was sleeping peacefully inside it. Soon Starscream would soon know what it was like to care for a sparkling and what it was like to love someone with all your heart.
A couple of days later Starscream was walking into the rec room one morning with the sparkling and sat down on the bot sized couch. "Boy you look exhausted," Hot shot said looking at Starscream's face.
"I see you have smart mouth," Starscream said with yawn.
"Wow you are tired," Hot shot said.
"More like completely exhausted." Starscream said. "I have been caring for her for the past three days and I haven't gotten much sleep," he said.
Red alert came over. "I think you could use break, from the sparkling," he said taking her from Starscream's arms.
"I agree to that," Optimus said. "Get some rest Starscream," he said.
So Starscream took nap. A bit later he woke up and started practicing with his sword. Then he decided to check on things in his room and he saw the kids there and gave him a present. "What do I do in a situation like this?" Starscream asked.
"You can say thank you," Alexis said.
A bit later Starscream was with the sparkling. "You know she needs name," he heard a voice say. He saw Alexis.
"Oh hi Alexis," he said.
"We can't call her the sparkling forever," Alexis said. "She needs a name so she knows we are talking to her," she said.
"I had a few ideas what to call her but I am not sure," Starscream said.
"Well what are some of your ideas?" Alexis asked him.
"Novastrike, but I feel that one sounds too much like a boys name," Starscream said.
"Any others?" Alexis asked.
"Lightburst, but I feel that is a bit too girly," he said. "I also have, Nightstar and Sunburst, but I don't really care for those either," he continued. "That's all the names I thought of but I can't think of any others," he said.
Alexis started thinking. "Would you be open to suggestions?" she asked.
"I think I might," Starscream said.
So the others gathered in the rec room to try to figure out what to call the sparkling.
"Okay all of you just give Starscream your suggestion," Alexis said.
"I think the sparkling should be called Heatstar," Hot shot said.
"No, makes her sound hot tempered, and she's so laid back," Starscream said.
"Okay, how about Cumulus after a type of earth cloud?" Side swipe suggested.
"No, that sounds like really difficult name for a little kid to deal with," Starscream said.
"Moonlight?" Hoist suggested.
"No, I just don't like the sound of that one," Starscream said.
"Don't worry we will soon find one that fits her," Alexis said.
"Starstorm?" Scavenger suggested.
"No, that makes me think of my big headed cousin Sunstorm, he's unbearable," Starscream said.
"Northstar?" Optimus suggested.
"It sounds alright but I am not feeling that one," Starscream said.
"Speedlight?" Blurr said.
"Sounds like it's more for a ground bot," Starscream said.
"Skyfire?" Jetfire asked.
"It's nice but I don't think it fits," Starscream said.
"How about Stardust?" Alexis suggested.
"Stardust?" Starscream asked.
"As you all probably know after a star goes super nova, it leaves behind stuff called stardust, and then after a long time it all swirls together and creates a new star," Alexis said.
"Hmm, that has a nice ring to it, Stardust, it seems to fit her quite nicely," Starscream said. "You are now Stardust," he said. Stardust cooed and smiled as if approving of her name.
Stardust really seemed to like Alexis. Starscream was starting to have feelings for Alexis he was about her age in human terms probably about a year older. But he had feelings for her.
Starscream had a little encounter with Thrust. Then came another battle. Thrust was still in Starscream's head. Then he thought about Stardust and Alexis. They might not survive if he rejoins the Decepticons so now with newfound purpose he attacks Thrust. The two bots are in dog fight. Starscream lands and sees Thrust still flying through the air.
"Hey coward, try fighting me on the ground, and settle it with our fists!" Starscream shouted.
"Fine have it your way," Thrust said landing.
Starscream and Thrust were in quite the fist fight. Starscream managed to give Thrust a toss. Thrust decided to get Starscream. "No more you win spar me," he said.
"Really Thrust? I thought you were made of tougher stuff from all those times you lead those battles, and lead us into battle? I never thought you would be one to back down like this," Starscream said coming closer to Thrust. Thrust the fired on Starscream.
"Argh," Starscream said and fell down and sat up his side leaking energon. "That was really low Thrust," he said.
Then Thrust kicked the wounded Starscream and continued the assault. Starscream grabbed Thrust and threw him into a tree.
Scavenger saw the whole thing and came over. "You alright?" Scavenger said.
"Pretty sore but I'll live," Starscream said he was still holding his wound which was still leaking.
"I think you should stop you lost quite a bit of energon," Scavenger told him.
Thrust got up. "No one throws me into a tree like some ragdoll," Thrust said. "You got lucky during our fight Starscream but you can decided again stay traitor or go back to the Decepticon camp," he said.
"I will never go back to the Decepticon camp, I belong with the Autobots," Starscream said looking Thrust in the eye.
"Fine meet your end," Thrust said.
"I don't think so," Scavenger said. "Dozer cannon," he said linking up with Rollbar and hit Thrust. Thrust tried again and started to wrestle the Star Saber from a weak Starscream's grip.
"I won't let you take these minicons," Starscream said and then was pushed to the ground by Thrust when he saw how weak Starscream was from his wounds. Thrust had the Star saber. Then Thrust stole the shield. "I failed," Starscream said while laying on the ground holding his wounds.
Scavenger kneeled next to him. "You didn't fail, you did your best, now hang in there," Scavenger said. Then turned on his com. "Optimus, Red alert needs to prepare the medical bay Starscream is wounded and it's bad," he said.
"Understood," Optimus said. "Red alert prepare the medical bay there is casualty." he said.
Scavenger picked up Starscream and carried him to the others. "My fault," Starscream said.
"No it's not your fault Thrust got away with the Star Saber and the Skyboom Shield, you fought on our side no matter what," Optimus said. "You did what you could to keep the Star Saber away from Thrust, you're wounded, so no one is blaming you," he said. "Now let's get you back to the base," he said.
Once in the base Starscream was taken to the medical bay. Red alert carefully lifted Starscream's hand and saw the nasty wound on his side and the energon leaking out of it. Red alert went right to work. He cleaned the area and then fused the lines shut. Then he used an X-ray scanner to see if there was anymore damage in that area or any where else in Starscream's body.
Starscream seemed to be fading. "Starscream stay with me now," Red alert said. Then Red alert came out. "I need B- energon now!" he said.
"I got plenty of that," Scavenger said.
"Then come in here I will start up a transfusion." Red alert said. Scavenger came in and Scavenger laid on the table next to Starscream. Red alert stuck the needle in his arm and got the transfusion kit ready. Then he stuck into Starscream who started to receive Scavenger's energon.
"Hang in there kid," Scavenger said.
Red alert went right work repairing all the damages. "I hope your not feeling faint Scavenger you just gave two Cybertronian pints of energon." he said.
"I'll be okay," Scavenger said.
Red alert finished up and Starscream was looking just fine. "There he's going to be fine now, he doesn't need anymore energon Scavenger," Red alert told him removing the needle from the older Autobot and bandaging him.
"Ugh," they heard. They saw Starscream coming too.
"Where am I?" Starscream asked.
"In the medical bay in the Autobot base where you belong," Red alert said. "How are feeling?" he asked.
"Sore, but I think I'll be okay," Starscream answered.
"Good," Red alert said. Then gave Starscream something for the pain.
A bit later Alexis came in. "Starscream I am so glad you are okay," Alexis said sobbing.
"I'm okay, sorry if I scared you," Starscream told her.
"I just care about you so much I just was so worried about you," she said.
"I care about you too, you are one of main reasons why I am staying here," Starscream said.
"What?" Alexis said.
"In human terms I would be your age and I feel something special when you are near," Starscream said. "All am saying is I love you," he said.
"I feel the same way about you," Alexis said.
"I just wish there was a way for us to be together," Starscream said.
"Me too," Alexis said.
There had to be away for these two to be together.
