Hello. Back for chapter number 17. I had a bit of fun with this chapter. Tony Stark really makes wonderful A.I's

Enjoy the story.

Wanda escorted Xander out of her room and into the now thankfully empty hallway. To Xander, it felt surreal. Here he was, with his girlfriend in the Avengers compound with Wanda Maximoff, a woman with the power to read and manipulate minds and basically one of the world's newest superheroes. Which begged the question.

WHY WAS HE HERE? Sure Captain America brought him here to help Wanda out of her depression, but that was still very hard to believe that he of all people had the privilege of being in one of the most heavily fortified buildings in the world simply because one of the Avengers thought he was worth her time. He felt very unworthy. Even the other avengers thought he was something special, taking their time to make sure he was ok, even though that was more for Wanda's benefit than his own

Xander wouldn't be lying when he said he knew there was a special connection between him and Wanda and it certainly had nothing to do with her status as an Avenger. When he first met he all he saw was a beautiful woman, as shallow as it was. He instantly wanted to get to know her, after seeing the woman behind the beauty though. It helped that when he saw her on the lake shore that day he was able to get a conversation opener by doing art. That and the courage to actually go and talk with her. Never in a million years did he think it would lead to this and yet here he was, walking with one of the most beautiful people he ever met treating him like an equal a man among the gods. Hell she was going to take him to dinner at one of the most expensive restaurants in New York at the cost of some of Tony Stark's Money. How could he not be excited? Granted he didn't really care where he was so long as he was by Wanda's side. He just didn't want to cause Wanda any discomfort by being with him. He already caused her some trouble but that wasn't directly his fault. Even so he just wanted to be the one to put a smile on her face at any time they were together.

The only concern was how they were going to communicate with each other in the long run. Wanda could certainly read lips and there was always the option of texting but as the incident at the theater proved there needed to be a way for him to be able to grab Wanda's attention should the need arise. But how were they going to be able to do that? Maybe Stark could assist with that considering he was some sort of tech genius, but he didnt want to dwell on that for the moment. Wanda wanted to go to Dinner with him and that's what they were going to do. The question was, where were they going to go and would Stark be willing to pay for Wanda's desires.

Xander was pulled away from his thoughts when he felt Wanda squeeze his hand. He turned to look at Wanda, whos eyes were shining with joy and her smile was equally as infectious. Doing his best to calm his nerves, Xander returned the smile, not wanting Wanda to worry any more than she had too. It was supposed to be a good day after all.

As if she could read his thoughts (which she could) Wanda let out a giggle "No need to be so worried, we're all friends here." she told Xander sweetly as the two arrived in what appeared to be a conference room, where much to Xanders trepidation he saw not only Captain America and the black widow., but Iron Man's sidekick War machine and what appeared to be a guy with an unhealthy amount of makeup on his face. What was his name? The Perciever? The Reader? He wasnt sure. All he knew was that the "New Avengers team hadnt exactly gone public and there was no world ending threat since The Ultron incident to make the new guys stand out. It wasnt like the Avengers had new conferences or gave out information about themselves. After all, even though he had heard Wanda was on the Avengers, he had no idea that it was the same Wanda that he held dear to his heart.

Oh dear would now be a good time to run? He was in the same room as the biggest superheroes on the planet, and there was a good chance at least one of them might kill him. Probably the Seer, if his piercing gaze was any indication War Machine wasnt looking much better. He was a part of the military after all, he had seen the Stark expo a few years back so he might be suspicious of anyone. Captain America seemed to trust him however and Black Widow did too.

Didnt stop him from being nervous though. Wanda however seemed to have enough confidence for the two of them as she guided Xander to the table (though a distance away from where the others were sitting) and sat him down before moving to sit down beside him. She then looked at her teammates, who seemed to receive a silent message and clear the room. Xander couldnt help but feel relieved but still wondered what it was that Wanda had in mind

"F.R.I.D.A.Y!" Wanda suddenly called out, causing Xander to blink. Who was she talking about? He was certain that there wasnt an Avenger by the name of a day of the week. Needless to say Xander was confused. Or at least he was until a female irish accented voice suddenly appeared out of nowhere "Yes Miss Maximoff?" the voice asked "I see there is an unauthorized individual with you…"

"Yes F.R.I.D.A.Y" Wanda responded quickly. "His name is Xander Dawson and he..." before Wanda could continue, Starks AI was already running a recognition program on Xander.

"Alexander Zane Dawson, age 17, student of Columbia University, born in Boston Massachusetts February 9 1998. Family currently resides in Missouri. Hobbies include art, movies, video games and reading books. Psychological profile restricted. Physical attributes include brown hair and blue eyes. height is 5 7. All other physical attributes restricted.

Xanders face lit up like a christmas tree at the AI's intrusive evaluation. Even Wanda looked exasperated and she tried her best to alleviate Xander's embarrassment "F.R.I.D.A.Y please contact Tony Stark for us. We would like reservation at the most expensive restaurant in New York, but we need him to be able to do that for us."

The Scottish AI was silent for a few seconds as if contemplating Wanda's words for a moment, ten let out what could only be described as a dark chuckle. Which put Wanda in a slight state of unease. Tony Stark programmed this thing. Only he was capable of understanding what this AI was capable of. That being said, what was F.R.I.D.A.Y up too? Thankfully Wanda got her answer a few moments later when the A.I let out the last thing Wanda was expecting her to say in that situation "I took the liberty of setting up a reservation for two at 7:00 tomorrow evening at Per se, a luxurious french restaurant located in Manhattan. The tab has already been paid , so feel free to go nuts on Mr Starks account" the A.I told the shocked teens, who were both at loss for words (or rather Wanda was considering Xanders condition) Wanda should have expected that F.R.I.D.A.Y to do what she did considering that Tony Stark was the one who programed her and J.A.R.V.I.S was very much the same way according to Vision since Wanda never met the A.I prior to Visions creation. That being said, Wanda supposed she should have been grateful for the A.I doing what she did, it made it a lot easier to go out on a date with Xander without Tony Stark learning that Wanda was dating someone (assuming that Pepper hadnt told him anything when Steve contacted her to get Tony to pulled some strings but given the situation it was likely that Tony did have knowledge of Xander, even if he didnt know the full story.) and learning that the Sokovian was exploiting the billionaire wallet to do so. That being said there was just one problem with F.R.I.D.A.Y's plan. Wanda had gotten some dresses that would work in her favor for a night but Xander… barring the idea that he could borrow a tuxedo from one of her teammates (which wouldnt be the most ideal situation to begin with.) there was no way Xander could afford a tuxedo for a place that was very expensive. She didnt really know anything about his finances but she doubted that he would be able to afford a tuxedo for an upper class restaurant. At least to the expectations of Tony Starks virtual wallet. Taking a quick glance at Xander, Wanda could see she was right; the poor mute seemed very apprehensive. Wanda placed her hand on Xanders shoulder, causing him to turn to her and Wanda quickly pecked his lips. "Dont worry Xander, I'm sure F.R.I.D.A.Y will figure something out for you" she said. If the A.I had a body she would be glaring at it but alas she was left to give Xander a smile.

As if the A.I understood what Wanda was thinking, Friday let out even more news "Mr. Dawson is scheduled to go to a fitting at Men's warehouse at 10:00 tomorrow morning. I have already sent them the necessary information to ensure that Mr. Dawson will have a comfortable experience." If possible the A.I almost sounded smug. "I have informed Mr Stark of this arrangement. Should there be any issues he can take it up with Ms Potts." there was no mistaking the mischievous tone in the A.I's voice that time. Wanda couldnt help but giggle. "Thanks F.R.I.D.A.Y'' she said before turning to look at Xander. He seemed quite out of his element which was to be expected. Being treated like he was at the moment was certainly not something he was used to. "Is there anything else I can assist you with, Ms Maximoff?" F.R.I.D.A.Y asked. Wanda smiled. That will be all for now." she said. There was no response leaving the two teens by themselves for a few moments. It was practically a perfect moment.

At least until the sound of a door opening reached their ears and in walked the rest of the team. All with wide grins on their faces except the Vision who looked stoic as always. Thats when Wanda realized…. Damn that A.I she had broadcasted the whole thing to the team. Either that or they just knew what was going on. Wanda gritted her teeth, but held her tongue. Ignoring the gazes of her teammates, Wanda got out of her chair, and began leaving the room, Xander following her.

Wanda took Xander into the hallway, away from her prying teammates , then led him to the living room area where they would have some privacy away from the others in the conference room/lounge area and maybe get a snack in the kitchen if they wanted.

That being said Wanda did want to talk to Xander, specifically about their upcoming date as well as each other in general, considering that the last time they had a conversation, it was cut short by Xanders unfortunate situation. Of course how Wanda was going to keep that conversation going was a good question, though she could read lips and…..

Wandas eyes widened as a thought struck her then and there. She could read minds. How could she not have thought of that sooner? She could just read Xanders mind in order to communicate with him. Granted there was one drawback to that plan. Xanders mind, as open as it was, certainly was not a place she wanted to be 24/7 given that it would be impolite to just read his mind every time they were together. He would have to be a willing participant in that plan and Wanda wasnt sure if he would like that given his exposure to her powers. Sure he didnt blame her, but wanda didnt want to cause any more damage. The thought alone made her sick.

No, perhaps there was another way. At least for the time being. One that would be far more comfortable for the both of them and not as intrusive. Using their phone to communicate would certainly work; it would be tedious but at least they would be able to have a private conversation with each other for the most part without anyone interrupting them except it would partially be rude and distracting in the grand scheme of things. Or at least that she was told by Clint during her time at the Bartons, but she had no other choice at the moment, unless she spoke to him about it.

Which was exactly what she was going to do at the moment. Holding onto Xanders hand, she led him to the couch. Quickly getting the idea Xander sat down, his eyes on Wanda as she sat down next to him, keeping her eyes locked onto his. There was a moment of silence between the couple, before Wanda gripped Xanders hand tighter. She took a deep breath before she began her tale. "Xander…. You trust me right?" she asked her voice cracking slightly. Xander tilted his head, seemingly confused by Wanda's shift in attitude, but nodded in response a small smile on his face. Wanda couldnt help but let a smile reach her lips for a moment as well, before she continued. "I think I know a way we can communicate without each other." Wanda said. Xanders eyes widened, but otherwise did not respond waiting for Wanda to continue. "You know i can read minds, so i believe that we can communicate with each other like that. The issue is it's mostly one way. i never do it without permission, voluntarily I mean." Xander nodded "so i'm asking you. Will you let me read your mind from now on?"

For a moment Wanda held her breath, her gaze going downcast. Was it too much to hope that Xander would say yes to something so ludicrous. Probably which is why Wanda couldnt bear to look at him when he answered….

Wanda felt Xanders hand tighten around her own, causing Wanda to look up at him. Xander had a warm smile on his face and he was nodding slowly. Wanda couldnt believe it. He was agreeing to this? It was practically a dream come true. Yet she was still worried since she had never done something like this before. Of course this was the only way to find out, but… what if she did even more damage to Xanders mind? Wanda would not be able to bear that. But Xander was giving her his complete trust, and that was enough for Wanda to want to try complying with Xanders wishes. With a heavy heart, Wanda let go of Xanders hands and raised her hands to Xanders head. She placed her fingers against his head and pressed her forehead against his, the pair closing their eyes in anticipation of the moment. She could feel his warm minty breath on her lips just as he felt hers on his. It was a soothing feeling, one that helped Wanda go through with her endeavour. With one thought, Wanda opened both her mind and Xanders, connecting their thoughts and establishing a gateway between them

In a way, they had truly become one. Wanda could feel Xander more than she ever had and it felt exhilarating. For a brief moment everything was perfect. Wanda proceeded to open her eyes and her green eyes met Xanders blue ones. "Xander…." she whispered breathlessly, hoping that he would be able to hear her.

For a moment nothing happened or so it seemed to Wanda then in her mind…. She heard it "Wanda…." Xander thought, his voice echoing in her head as if he had spoken the words aloud. Wanda couldn't help it, her eyes began to shine with tears and without thinking, she tackled Xander, pinning him to the couch as she smashed her lips to his, absolute joy filling the entirety of her being. Xander of course couldn't complain about the situation, responding by moving his lips in tandem with Wanda's, the two getting lost in the absolute love that they felt for each other. Sadly the pesky need for air got in the way and the two broke apart. Xander cupped Wanda's cheek, looking at her with a large smile on his face "I love you…." he mouthed but Wanda could hear it in her mind. If Wanda was close to tears before, she couldn't hold back her emotions upon hearing those words now.

"I love you too Xander…" she said, before capturing her boyfriend's lips once more, the two sealing their vows forever more….

Later that day, Wanda was in her room alone, Xander had left to go back to Columbia in order to deal with makeup work from his time at the hospital. Needless to say it was going to be quite some time for him to catch up but he was going to do so anyway. Wanda was certain that the school was going to be lenient given the circumstances. It isn't everyday that someone was in an accident after all. Given that Friday was a few days away, Wanda wanted to prepare for her date early so she wouldn't be rushing to do so later. Of course that meant talking to the Facility's resident assassin for assistance, once again. This time however was going to be a little different since Wanda had never been to such a fancy restaurant. She did have some fancy clothes courtesy of Starks Wallet, but the issue was this was brand new territory for her so the poor enhanced woman didn't want to overshoot or undershoot her clothes at the fanciest restaurant in New York. Presently she was looking at the menu for Per se. It would seem however that the restaurant didnt have a set menu, but one that changed every few days, meaning that everyone would have a different experience every time they visited the restaurant. Well it would certainly be memorable at the very least.

Sighing Wanda closed her laptop and stood up from her desk before walking out of her room and going to Natasha's room. Natasha was bound to have some tips about being at a fancy restaurant considering soome of her assassination missions had taken place at such locations. Her job was about blending into society in order to not be detected. Who better to learn the finer points of high society from? Certainly not Stark, who wasn't around anyway.

Wanda knocked on Natashas door, which opened to reveal the redhead. Sadly for Wanda though a smirk formed on Natashas face. Oh right she knew Xander was here and F.R.I.D.A.Y probably told everybody about the date in the first place. Damn crafty A.I.

"What can I do for you Wanda?" Natasha said, placing a hand on her hip as she looked at the young telepath. Wanda rolled her eyes and folded her arms "I need help picking out a high society outfit." she grumbled. "F.R.I.D.A.Y already got Xander covered at Mens warehouse, and while i know Stark got the cloths part covered when you and i went shopping some months ago Im not exactly sure what rich people wear at a pretty sure you're the only person here who knows what that is like." Wanda told the older woman. She really wasnt in the mood to play games right now let alone being teased about her relationship. She was too nervous as it was. Once she managed to get the clothes situation out of the way she would feel much better.

Natasha nodded closing her bedroom door and walked down the hall towards Wanda's room "I know exactly what you need Wanda, its nothing i havent done before." she said. Wanda followed hoping that Natasha would just get to the point before the young woman's nerves got the better of her.

Natasha led Wanda to the younger woman's bedroom (obviously), and the two entered the closest. The one place that was both Wanda's bane and her salvation. It was going to be a long few minutes for the both of them.

Meanwhile, Xander was in his solo dorm room trying his best not to panic. Just a few hours ago he was one of the first civilians ever granted access to a Superhero headquarters. Ok not just a headquarters, THE headquarters. On top of that he was profiled by a voice coming out of a speaker in front of the woman he loved most and he had an appointment to get a suit, a very nice suit at a store that he had absolutely no business stepping foot in, but here he was trying his best to hold in his excitement. Granted it wasnt like he could verbalize anything with his condition but even then it was hard hiding his emotions with what had to be the goofiest grin on his face. But he was also going out on a date, so yeah he had every right to be the happiest man on Earth right now.

That being said Xander did have a bit of a problem right now. He had yet to explain to his parents that he was dating anyone. Sure he had met Wanda half a year ago, but they had only been acquaintances at the time there was no need to explain his attraction to a girl he just met to his parents, but now he had an even bigger problem. How was he going to explain to them he was dating an Avenger? He couldnt just lie to them and they were bound to find out eventually. Oh god this was giving him quite a bit to think about now wasnt it?

No, he had to keep his cool. He still had a day and some hours before he even had to go to Mens warehouse and Wanda had promised that she would send someone to go with him (obviously she needed time to get ready herself and likely wanted to be surprised by what Xander was wearing just as he wanted to be with her) and he still had quite a bit of homework to make up.

Still his mind couldnt help but wander back to Wanda and memorize every detail he had noticed about her. Her hair, her eyes, the beauty of her face, her voice. Yep he did have it bad. But he wouldnt trade a moment with Wanda, despite the fact he had lost his voice. But he didnt blame her. It was the gunmans fault not hers. It wasnt like it could get any worse for him at this point. Granted he had never been in one of the Earths most catastrophic moments like Wanda had and he certainly hoped that he never would be. As did most of the worlds population.

Xander let out a silent sigh, taking a moment to look out the window of his dorm at the bustling city outside, catching a quick glimpse at a red and blue blur in the distance. This city was his home, a home he shared with Wanda. He knew the risk of being with her but he didnt care. All he cared about was making sure that Friday night would be a night that she wouldnt regret or forget. That A.I, what was it called? F.R.I.D.A.Y was it? Had set everything up so he was just trying not to worry

At that moment his phone rang. He turned to pick the electronic device and to his surprise, he saw the smiling face of Wanda that he took after their "date" at the coffee shop when they reunited.

Smiling, Xander answered the call.

Back with Wanda the young woman had finally managed to pick out her clothes for the date later on. It was quite the process especially when trying to endure Natasha's teasing (especially about intimacy), but Wanda managed to work through it without hexing the redhead and was now out overlooking the lake outside the Avengers facility. She realized that she liked being by the lake since it reminded her of Xander and the day they had met. She still kept that picture he made tucked away in a safe spot in her room. But for now she was just sitting by the lakebed throwing stones in the water, enjoying the small ripples that the rocks made as they hit the water. It made her feel calm and was quite therapeutic.

Her thoughts turned to Xander, hoping that he was ok. She quite noticed that he was uncomfortable during F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s analysis. She did her best to calm him during that of course and it seemed to work, but she wished even when he wasnt around Stark wasnt ruining her time with the person that she loved being said, she couldn't wait that long to see him. Sure it had only been a few hours since he had left (not a not of civilians were allowed in the facility and no one would appreciate unauthorized access for more than a couple of hours) but she just couldn't wait to see him again.

Yep she was in love and very proud of it.

The young woman took out her phone and dialed Xanders number, watching as his face popped up on the phone, taken the day they had reunited at the coffee shop. No matter what happened. She was going to make sure their next date was going to be the best date ever, a night that he would never regret or forget.

What else would you like to see?
