Trying to catch his breath, a sweating Darien pulled Serena over to him. She laid her head on his shoulder and gently placed her hand across his chest. She too was trying to catch her breath he could feel her heart beating against his side.

He kissed the top of her head. "I want all of our babies to be made that way." He joked.

Serena tilted her head up and looked at him. She slapped his chest. "You are such a dork." She said as her breathing calmed.

"What?!"

"Shhhh you're going to wake Danny."

"Look, if he slept through all the noise you were making..."

"Darien!" Serena quickly propped herself up.

"Shhh the baby!" Darien mocked pulling her more on top of him.

"I hate you." She tried to push herself off to check on the baby, but Darien's arms held her tighter.

"No, you don't." With a quick, simple movement he now hovered over her, as she laid on the bed looking at him.

"What are you doing?"

"Making sure you never get away from me again, what does it look like I am doing?" He lowered himself to kiss her.

Her hands came up to cup his face as she kissed him back.

"I love you so much." He whispered between his kiss.

Serena felt a little sensation her nose. She pushed back for a second to sniff back her tears, and she smiled.

"I mean it. I love you." He kissed her again. "I want to start our family."

"We will one day." She kissed him back just as he pushed himself back to hover over her.

"No!" Darien's tone of voice changed. "I want our family now."

Serena smiled made a small scoff. "Darien..."

"I cannot wait Serena, I want a family. You, me and kids."

"Darien...all that still takes time." She ran her hands down his chest.

"But it doesn't have too." He argued.

"Darien, you're a doctor, you know that it would take at least 9 months for us to have a physical baby in our arms."

He gently lowered himself to where he was laying on top of her, using arms as support to keep from dropping his full body weight on her. Chest too chest. "No, we can have a baby now if we wanted."

Serena was so confused.

"We can adopt Danny, and we can have our family."

"Darien...come on."

Serena pushed him off of her and he fell to her side. She sat up as he turned to his side to face her, propped up on his arm.

"Come on what? Sere you heard Ma, there has not been one family that has been good enough for him."

"And...?" Serena turned to look at him.

"Maybe because he is meant to be ours. He loves you and you love him."

"I do love him, but that is not enough, you know how many hoops we would have to jump through to adopt him? What makes you think we would be a better match. We aren't even married." She explained.

Darien watched as she turned to look at baby Danny. He was still sleeping. She released a frustrated sigh and took another breath. Darien ran his hand down her back to calm her down.

"I want a family so bad Darien, but I cannot get my hopes up then have it be denied. I can't do it Darien." She just shook her head. "And if that means we don't get to keep him, then." Her shoulders dropped in defeat.

"Then marry me."

She just looked up at the ceiling and shook her head.

"I know you think I am joking, but I am not. We can get married and we can file for the paper work, and he can be ours."

"Darien..."

He pushed himself up next to her.

"I know it won't be your dream fairytale wedding, not right now at least, but we can still have that." He adjust his placement so he was sitting on her side but facing her. He grabbed her hands in his.

She just looked back at him.

"I am serious. We just go to the court house now. Get our marriage certificate, which we are going to have to do anyways."

"Darien, shhhh..."

"I am sorry, but this could work. I don't want to spend the rest of my life with anyone else, but you and we can finally be a family." His hands squeezed hers. "Baby please marry me. I promise we will have the wedding of dreams after all this. Whatever you want. No price limit, I don't care."

"Darien you know I don't want anything big."

"Fine," He scooted closer to her, rubbing his leg against Serena's side. "But you still have whatever you want, and Danny will get to be there!" He took in a breath. His heart was racing and his palms were sweating. "I would get down on one knee but I am not really dressed for that and it may look weird."

Serena started to laugh. "You are such a dork."

Darien released her hands and grabbed her face, "but I will always be your dork, for the rest of my life." He kissed her. "If you make the happiest man in the world, and marry me." He kissed her again.

"You really mean this don't you." Serena asked between his kiss.

"With every fiber of my being. I love you more than I have loved you in any lifetime. I was dumb not to marry you right away." He scooted even closer to her. "I cannot wait anymore. Marry me! I will call in sick Monday."

"I have to work on Monday." Serena argued.

"Then we will go when you are off!"

"Danny leaves Sunday." Serena eyes started to glisten.

"Then we will file papers as soon as we get home." He encircled both arms around her. "I know you're reserved, but we can make this happen, and I will jump through every hoop to make him ours." He rested his forehead on hers and looked down at her, hoping she would be looking back at him. She wasn't.

He was not sure what she was actually looking at. But he could feel the on going battle in her head. Her heart was rapidly beating and she was twiddling her fingers. She seemed as though she was holding her breath because as close as they were he did not feel the warmth of her breath. She may have been nibbling the side of her cheek. He moved his head up to plant a long kiss on her forehead. She moved her head back and looked deep into his eyes. The only light coming from the moon, so his eyes looked black, but still had the warmth and comfort she always felt looking into them. She exhaled. "You really mean this?"

He nodded. "I am going to ask you for what seems like the 10th time in this conversation." He licked his lips. Grabbed her hands again. "Serena, will you marry me, adopt that beautiful baby boy with me and start a family with me?"

She just nodded.

"Is that a yes?"

She nodded again.

"Yes?!"

She smiled at him, "Only if you promise to never leave me lonely again. I know that there will be emergencies, but I need to know that me and the kids will always come first, and unless it is a true emergency you will be here, every night. We will go to bed at the same time and that we will raise our family as a team. I am not going to be the only one taking care of the kids, while you are out "working." She used her fingers to make quotation signs.

"I promise."

"And I am not quitting my job!" She pointed her index finger up.

"I would never ask you too." He lunged forward bring her down to the bed.

"Darien!"

"Shhh the baby!" He kissed her.

"You're squishing me!" She tried to wiggle out of his grip.

"I will once I hear you say yes..."

"You are being silly and you are going to make me wake up the baby." She continued to squirm.

He kissed her cheek. "I need to hear it." He lifted his head to get a good look at her face.

She stared back at him. Smiled. "Yes. I will marry you."

He didn't even take a second to smile, he just pressed his lips against hers, as she moved her arms around his neck. Danny would probably be up in an hour or so to feed, but they didn't care.
