We open to Titans tower on a snowy day, inside, Jinx was sleeping peacefully not letting the day bother her. The pink haired sorceress got out of bed and looked at her calendar, it was December 23rd. Jinx groaned in annoyance, hinting she probably didn't like what today was. "Great, only two days. Hopefully the Titans don't celebrate it."
Jinx walked towards the door and opened it to see Starfire flying down the corridor carrying tinsel. "It's probably an alien thing."
Starfire flew up to Jinx, feeling overjoyed. "Oh friend, do you know what day it is?"
"Um...A special day where you Tamaraneans fly around carrying tinsel?" Jinx asked.
"No friend, today is two days until the day of Christmas." Starfire replied. "I thought you would've known."
"Yeah, I do." Jinx replied with an annoyed sigh. "Does Raven get used to this?"
"You get used to the joy after a couple of years." Raven replied as she walked past. "And Star, every year I tell you to not put a tree in my room and what do you do?"
"I did not put the tree in your room." Starfire assured her.
Kid Flash zoomed past and said, "That was me." He ran to the door that lead to the lounge and placed some tinsel around the door frame. "Impressed?"
"Friend Kid Flash, I thought I was doing the decorations." Starfire said disappointedly.
"So am I." Kid Flash retorted. "I gave the T-Car a bit of a Christmas makeover."
"Is that a good idea?" Raven asked. "I don't think Cyborg will approve."
"He will." Kid Flash assured Raven.
Meanwhile, Cyborg walked into the garage and screamed once he flipped the light switch. The T-Car was now red, green and white, instead of blue and white. "Kid Flash!!!!"
Back with the others, who heard Cyborg's scream.
"He'll grow into it." Kid Flash said.
Suddenly, the alarm started going off, meaning there was trouble going on.
Kid Flash sighed. "And I thought villains took a break during months like this."
The Titans ran into the lounge where they saw Robin, Cyborg and Beast Boy staring at the screen, while Terra was typing away. "What's the situation rock and roller?" Kid Flash asked.
"Ok, some guy named Mr Freeze is robbing the chemical lab." Terra replied.
"Mr Freeze?" Beast Boy asked. "What's next? Captain Cold? Or Killer Frost?"
"Captain Cold exists." Kid Flash said.
"So does Killer Frost." Jinx said.
"Trust me Titans, Mr Freeze is no laughing matter." Robin assured. "His real name is Victor Fries, a research scientist who was trying to find a cure to save his dying wife. Until a chemical accident caused by Ferris Boyle caused him to encase himself into a low temperature suit in order to survive. His crimes are just robbing chemical plants in order to find a cure for his wife."
"Wow, I don't know about you but I feel bad for this guy." Beast Boy said.
"Titans, you know what to do." Robin said.
"I'll let you know what I find." Terra said as she typed into the computer.
"Just when I thought the month couldn't get any better." Jinx quipped.
Meanwhile, Mr Freeze walked past a number of frozen security guards while cocking his freeze gun. "I'm sorry I had to do this, believe me." Mr Freeze apologised. "But this was the only way to get what I need." Mr Freeze walked towards a desk and picked up a cylinder filled with a light blue liquid. "This is what I will need."
"Put it down, Freeze!" Mr Freeze turned around to see Robin, Jinx, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg, Kid Flash and Beast Boy standing by the entrance.
"More like, freeze, Freeze." Beast Boy joked. The joke made the Titans, except Starfire groan.
"No ice puns, please." Cyborg begged.
"Oh, I get it. His name is Freeze and the gimmick of his is his obsession with ice." Starfire realised.
"You won't stop me again Robin." Mr Freeze said.
"This isn't the way Freeze, you know this." Robin said. "We can try and help Nora."
"How many times have you and I had this conversation Robin?" Mr Freeze asked. "You know it won't stop me."
"Oh, don't be so cold hearted." Beast Boy's joke made Raven give him a backhand slap to the back of his head.
"Beast Boy, please chill out with the ice puns." Jinx begged. Everyone groaned at Jinx using an ice pun but she argued, "That was unintentional."
"Just stop." Raven begged.
"I'm sorry I have to do this Robin." Mr Freeze apologised. "But you know this was the only way I was going to save my wife."
"And I'm sorry we're going to have to send you to Belle Reve." Robin apologised. "Titans-" Robin was interrupted when somebody's ringtone started going off.
Kid Flash sighed and pulled a cellphone out of his pocket. "Please don't let it be who I think it is. Please don't let it be who I think it is." He looked at his screen and groaned. "Come on."
"Dude!" Cyborg exclaimed.
"Sorry, it's my parents." Kid Flash apologised. "Could you wait, please?"
Mr Freeze replied by firing his freeze ray, that the Titans quickly avoided. Raven used her magic to move the frozen security guard out of harms way and then threw a chair at the ice themed villain, that he ducked.
Robin threw a birdarang at the ex scientist, that he froze in midair. Then Starfire fired a star bolt at the ice themed villain, causing him to stumble a bit.
Jinx used her hex powers to send Mr Freeze to stumble backwards that he almost fell. Cyborg fired a laser blast which caused the ice themed villain to fly backwards.
Jinx fired another backflip and landed beside Kid Flash, who was still on the phone. "I don't know if this is a good time Mom...I'm a little busy right now..." Jinx glared at the speedster. "...It's another ice incident."
"Hey, Kid Flash, the Titans need you." Jinx said, rudely.
Kid Flash sighed then went wide eyed like he made a mistake. "I wasn't sighing at you Mom..." Jinx groaned in annoyance and ran back into the battle. "...I was sighing at my girlfriend."
Back in the battle, Beast Boy turned into a Pachycephalosaurus and rammed into Mr Freeze, causing a dent to appear in his armour.
"You're going to regret that." Mr Freeze said.
"Regret what?" Beast Boy asked as he turned into a rhinoceros. "The puns, or the dent?"
The Titan started charging at the ice themed villain, but he quickly pulled out his freeze gun and fired it at Beast Boy, who was then frozen in a block of ice. "Both." Mr Freeze replied before he fired his freeze ray at an approaching Raven, who was about to use her magic.
Robin performed an air kick to Mr Freeze's face, causing a crack to appear on his visor. But Mr Freeze then back hand slapped Robin, causing him to fly across the room. Jinx managed to jump on Mr Freeze and started punching his helmet. She then used her hex powers to disassemble his gun. "Sorry child." Mr Freeze apologised as he grabbed Jinx and threw her at Starfire, who managed to fire a star bolt at the ice man's leg.
Mr Freeze smiled, took the chemical and ran out of the compound.
"Great." Jinx groaned as she got up
"Cyborg, Starfire, stay here and thaw these people." Robin ordered as he got up. "Me and Jinx will go after the ice man."
"Sure thing Rob." Cyborg said. "What about the procrastinator?"
Robin took notice of Kid Flash and sighed. "When it comes to his parents, they'll kill him if he doesn't answer."
Meanwhile, Mr Freeze ran to his getaway van with the cylinder in hand. He entered the back of the vehicle and said, "Drive! Drive! I got it."
"I know." The ice themed villain got a good look at his driver and realised it was Kid Flash at the driver's side. "Oh, I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to my Mom."
Mr Freeze glared at the speedster and was about to blast him with his freeze ray, but the speedster used his super speed to run out of the van and locked Mr Freeze inside. Mr Freeze tried to bust out but he realised his suit was powering down. The ice man poked the back of his armour and realised the wiring had been messed with.
Outside the van, Robin and Jinx arrived at Kid Flash's location and see that the speedster was still on his phone-call. "Alright...Cool...Sure, see you than."
"What happened to Freeze?" Robin asked.
"Oh, he's a little stiff right now." Kid Flash replied. "In a de-powered suit kind of way."
"Least it wasn't an ice pun." Jinx said, relieved.
"Is he in the van?" Robin asked.
"I can confirm." Kid Flash replied as he put his cellphone away. "Sorry about taking a call."
"Not to worry, your parents should be apologising." Robin said.
"Hey, if I don't answer, my parents worry, you know that." Kid Flash said.
Robin pulled out his T-Communicator to speak to Terra. "Terra, contact the police. Tell them about a tip about an abandoned van with a criminal who resides in Gotham."
"Sure thing."
"Come on guys, let's get home and do...whatever you do during this time of year." Jinx said as she started to walk away.
Robin and Kid Flash took notice of her strange attitude. "Is she ok?" Robin asked.
"I don't know." Kid Flash replied. "She looks like she's been dreading Christmas."
"Why?" Robin asked.
"I don't know. But she's not going to like what I'm going to ask."
Later, at the tower.
Beast Boy and Raven were in their pyjamas and had wrapped themselves in towels, while Cyborg was making some dinner with Terra, while Robin was looking at the computer screen with Starfire by his side. "Dude, I hope we never encounter another ice themed villain again." Beast Boy said.
"If we do, I'll make sure Kid Flash is frozen." Raven agreed.
"Funny, you'd probably say you'd find a way to make sure I'm the only one who was frozen."
"That would be too easy." Raven replied.
"Look, I'm sorry." Kid Flash apologised. "My parents usually would kill me if I didn't answer."
"Man, I'm lucky I lost contact with my Dad." Cyborg said.
"And I'm glad my father's dead, hopefully." Raven said.
"I forgive Kid Flash." Robin said. "His parents used to do that every time. Especially on missions."
"Besides, I need to speak with Jinx about something and I'll be needing a few days off. If that's okay, with you?"
"Sure thing Kid Flash, I understand." Robin replied to his best friend.
"Thanks. Gotta run." Kid Flash zoomed out of the lounge and to his room.
"Why is Kid Flash not spending the day of Christmas with us?" Starfire asked Robin.
"Kid Flash usually spends Christmas with his family." Robin replied. "The West Christmas Spectacular I like to call it."
"But what does this have to do with Jinx?" Terra asked.
Robin's sighed, realising that Kid Flash probably did something stupid. "Oh boy, he made a Kid Flash move."
Meanwhile, Jinx was in her bed crossing out the days on her calendar. "Only two days, still." Jinx groaned as she laid down on her bed. "I wish this month can be over and done with."
She heard a knock on her door and groaned. "If you're asking if we can do a Christmas makeover Starfire, no." She opened the door and sees Kid Flash standing there, pulling one of his signature cheesy grins.
Jinx sighed. "What is it Kid Flash?"
"Like I said: Call me Wally when we're alone." Kid Flash reminded the sorceress.
Jinx pulled Kid Flash into her room and locks her door. "What is it?"
"Jinx, I need you to be my girlfriend." Kid Flash reply made Jinx freeze and then gave him an annoyed look.
"I thought we were taking things slow."
"No, we are not boyfriend and girlfriend." Kid Flash said.
"Um...What are you getting at?" Asked a confused Jinx. "And that was probably the fastest breakup in the history of breakups."
Kid Flash groaned. "Ok, I think I need to slow down."
"I think you do." Jinx said. "You said I need to be your girlfriend and then you say we're not that."
"I know we aren't boyfriend and girlfriend at the moment but..." Kid Flash sighed. "Remember the badly timed phone call from my parents?"
"If this happens every mission than I'm destroying the landlines." Jinx said.
"Look I usually stay with my parents for a few days during Christmas, sort of a tradition. During the phone call when you told me that the Titans needed me, they asked who you were and I sarcastically replied you were my girlfriend. But my Mom...thought it was the real deal and now she wants you to come over for Christmas."
Jinx's eyes started glowing pink as she looked like she was about to hex blast Kid Flash to oblivion. "You did what?!"
"I thought they understood my sarcasm, but unfortunately not." Kid Flash said.
"No, they don't." Jinx agreed. "But, why did you refer to me as your girlfriend? Why couldn't you call me your teammate?"
"It just came out." Kid Flash groaned. "Look, will you at least pretend to be my girlfriend? Ya know until December 26th. Because, my Mom is not the kind of person who likes to be disappointed, trust me."
Jinx sighed. "Alright, but on one condition."
"Oh boy, do I need to do something humiliating?" Kid Flash asked, probably scared Jinx will make him wear a tutu like she did with Cyborg.
"Maybe, but I will think of something, trust me." Jinx assured him. "So, how long are we staying at your parents?"
"Like I said, a few days." Kid Flash said before he zoomed out of her room and came back with a lot of suitcases.
"Ok, give me time to pack." Jinx said to the speedster.
"No need." Kid Flash said before he ran around Jinx's room and had packed the pink haired sorceress' suitcases.
"Did you even know what I wanted to pack?" Jinx asked.
"The important junk, clothes, hair products and makeup." Kid Flash replied.
"Ok, but what if I need my drawing books?"
"I packed them just in case as well." Kid Flash replied.
"Thanks." Jinx said. "Did you get a peek at them?"
"No." Kid Flash replied while pulling a look that said he's took a tiny peek.
"What time do we have to arrive at your parents?" Jinx asked.
"They expect us to be there in five minutes." Kid Flash replied.
"Five minutes?!" Exclaimed Jinx. "But we're in Jump..." Kid Flash zoomed past Jinx and then she suddenly realised she was no longer in her room, but beside a house on a peaceful street. The house looked very suburban, like something out of a street in Chicago. "...city."
"Welcome to my humble abode." Kid Flash said.
"You actually grew up here?" Jinx asked.
"Yes, I sure did." Kid Flash confirmed.
"Nice place." Jinx commented.
"It is, except for when the bad guys come about." Kid Flash said.
The speedster and his 'girlfriend' walked up to the door; with the speedster looking nervous. "Nervous?" Jinx asked.
"Boy am I?" Kid Flash replied. "It's just, what if they see through our lie? What if they expect us to kiss?"
"I'll kiss you on the cheek." Jinx said.
"Yeah but...what about..." Kid Flash pointed to his lips, implying that he's worried that his parents might expect them to kiss on the lips.
"Then we do it, not an issue." Jinx said as she knocked on the door.
After the sorceress knocked on the door, a ginger haired woman who appeared to be in her mid forties answered the door. She smiled at the ginger haired speedster. "Wally, so great to see you again." She pulled the speedster into a hug which he returned.
"Hi Mom." Kid Flash said.
She pulled herself out of the hug and gave him a disappointed look. "Wally, how many times have I told you not to wear that uniform when you're here?"
"Mom." The speedster groaned. "I only just got here and I need to get the suitcases. You know I can't run around the continent and-" The boy's mother gave him a Mom glare that Kid Flash sighed at. "You win, again."
Kid Flash zoomed away from the front porch then came back, now dressed in a yellow t-shirt, beige pants, brown coat and black gloves and carrying a large number of suitcases. Jinx stared at Kid Flash like it was the first time seeing him without his mask, which caused her pink eyes to go wide, since she didn't expect him to be so...cute. "Um..."
"Well come in you two." Mrs West requested.
Jinx walked in, while Wally stood outside still carrying the suitcases. "Come on, do I look like I have four more limbs?" Kid Flash asked.
Later.
Mrs West was leading Jinx around the house. "I'm so happy to meet you at last, Jinx."
"Thanks, didn't he tell you much about me?" Jinx asked.
"Well, I only learnt about your existence just today and since then, I always wanted to meet you." Mrs West explained.
"Yeah, he's told me lots about you." Jinx said. "Especially how you win every argument."
Mrs West chuckles. "My son has beaten so many bad guys and the only person he hasn't beaten is me." Jinx chuckled at Mrs West's joke. "I'm not joking."
"Oh." Jinx reacted.
Mrs West motioned Jinx into the living room where there were a bunch of Christmas decorations up and ready. The sight almost made the sorceress involuntarily gag.
Kid Flash soon ran back into the living room, looking like he was out of breath. "Ok...That's all the stuff...unpacked." Kid Flash took a bite out of an apple from the fruit bowl. "Hey Mom, is Dad at work?" Kid Flash asked with a mouthful of apple.
"He is." Mrs West replied. "He should be back by Christmas Eve."
"Disappointing, he would have loved to hear my stories." Kid Flash said.
"Wait, you're cool with him being Kid Flash?" Jinx asked, surprised. "I thought, with you being his parents, you wouldn't have."
"They are." Kid Flash interjected. "But they do worry about me sometimes."
"All the time." Said Mrs West. "So, how did you two meet? I bet it was before you were a Titan."
"You know about me being a villain?" Jinx asked.
"Well, I saw you on the news back in your days with...whatever you called that bug's nest, but then I saw you with the Titans." Mrs West said.
"Well, we did meet back in my villain days." Jinx explained.
"I made her fall for me instantly." Kid Flash's little lie made Jinx elbow him.
"No, I didn't fall for him instantly. He kept giving me roses and at one point-"
"I turned myself in." Kid Flash interjected.
"I knocked him out with a wet floor sign." Jinx explained.
Mrs West chuckled. "Wally, didn't your uncle say don't get too cocky when you're in uniform?"
"Hey, that happens when I fall for an amazing girl like her." Kid Flash defended himself. Jinx blushed when Kid Flash called her 'amazing' she absolutely adored it when he charmed her. But that brief moment of small happiness stopped when Jinx looked at the Christmas tree and gave it an angry glare while Kid Flash and his mother continued chatting.
Later.
Jinx was in a small guest room which was quite spacious. It had a wardrobe for her clothes and a bed she could sleep in perfectly. But she wasn't feeling herself at the moment since she couldn't quite sleep, she was seeing flickering multi coloured lights from a bunch of Christmas lights from across the street. She got out of bed, wearing a small tank top and purple shorts, and walked towards the window and stared at the small house across the street with Christmas lights. She glared at the house and used her hex powers to shatter every last bulb. "Stupid Christmas." Jinx mumbled.
She got back into bed to try and get the sleep she deserved, but for some reason she couldn't. She tried rolling over but that didn't do anything to help her, so she just got out of bed and walked to her uniform that was placed on a chair. Jinx quickly put on her uniform along with a pair of gloves and a long scarf she wrapped around her neck.
She opened the window and climbed down the roof by sliding down the water pipe. She wasn't leaving Kid Flash, no she knew he still needed her to keep up the charade, she just wanted to take a nice long walk to tire herself out.
During her walk she walked past a large number of suburban houses all with Christmas decorations up, the sight sickening her to the core. She noticed a large inflatable decoration of Frosty the Snowman. She wanted to use her bad luck powers to make it pop, but she decided that wouldn't be such a great idea.
"Like taking long walks?"
Jinx quickly turned around and sees Kid Flash leaning against a mail box. "Not really." Jinx replied with a sharp glare. "Were you following me?"
"Actually, I go on patrol for a few hours and then I head off to bed." Kid Flash replied. "You know, my mentor always used to say to me, crime never sleeps and neither do the speedsters and Batman."
"Any luck?" Jinx asked.
"Nope." Kid Flash replied. "Maybe crime realised they should be on Santa's nice list." Kid Flash's little joke made Jinx genuinely laugh.
"Hope so." Jinx said as she and Kid Flash started walking.
"I couldn't help but notice you glaring at Frosty the Snowman, what did he do?"
"Nothing, I just felt like popping it." Jinx replied.
"Honestly, I would've allowed it." Kid Flash said. "Twas an awful Christmas decoration."
"Sure is." Jinx agreed.
"So, why are you out so late?" Kid Flash asked.
"I couldn't sleep." Jinx replied.
"Didn't you try knocking yourself out?"
"Do you think I didn't?"
Kid Flash and Jinx continued walking before laughing at the little joke. "What was Christmas like at the HIVE?" Kid Flash's question made Jinx nervously rub her shoulder, possibly not wanting to talk about it. The reason why Kid Flash asked the question was because he wanted to know why she hated Christmas.
"It wasn't anything special." Jinx replied. "Just, rob charities and steal Christmas presents."
"So, doing something evil and doing something childish?" Kid Flash responded.
"Hey, one of the members was a baby with a jet pack, I had to please everyone." Jinx said, defending herself.
Kid Flash laughed at Jinx's description of Gizmo and stared at her, smiling.
"It's a nice night." Jinx said. "It would be a shame to ruin such a moment like this."
Suddenly, the two heard the sound of what appeared to be a freeze ray being set off. They look across the street and see a teenage boy made entirely out of ice pointing his hand at the cashier of a convenient store.
"You had to jinx it didn't you Jinx?" Kid Flash's question made Jinx roll her eyes. "Any-who, let's go."
Kid Flash ran to the convenient store and rescued the cashier before the villain could freeze her.
"Hey, no fair!" Shouted the teenage boy. He ran out of the store and sees Kid Flash and Jinx standing from across the street. "Oh, you had to show up didn't you?!"
"What, you think heroes just rest around Christmas time?" Kid Flash asked.
"Y-y-y-you're ruining my master plan!!!" The teen boy yelled while pointing an accusing finger.
"Robbing a bank?" Jinx chuckled. "Not exactly a master plan more like a...mediocre plan."
"Oh, you heroes think you're so smart don't you?!" The teen boy used his ice powers to make a spear entirely out of ice. "Well, you can't stop Icicle JR!" He throws the spear at the two, but they both dodged it.
Kid Flash started running towards the villain who quickly froze the road causing the speedster to slip. Jinx fired a hex blast at the ice villain, but he quickly formed an ice shield and deflected it back at her.
The ice themed villain started running and then used his ice powers to create a ramp to slide across the street.
The two Titans stood up and dusted themselves off. "Ice...my one enemy." Kid Flash said.
Jinx chuckled and said, "Ha, now I know your weaknesses."
"Ha Ha. Kid Flash gets defeated by ice and wet floor signs." Kid Flash mocked sarcastically. "I'm going after the iceman, you stay here and thaw these people." Jinx gave the speedster a nod.
Then Kid Flash ran off to chase the ice themed villain by following his ice trail. The trail led to where the villain currently was, which was still sliding on ice ramps he was creating from his hands.
Icicle Jr noticed he was being followed by the young speedster and tried to blast him while he used his other hand to form the ice ramps. But the speedster quickly ran up a building to avoid the ice. "Hold still!" Icicle JR demanded.
Kid Flash avoided another ice blast by running down the building he was running on and then running up another. "I thought you ice themed villains always say freeze." Kid Flash's quipped.
"Do you think you're funny?!" Icicle JR asked before he threw an ice spear at the speedster which he caught.
"I don't think, I know." Kid Flash's said replied as he threw the spear back at the ice themed villain. The spear managed to miss the villain and hit a building on the other side of the street instead.
Kid Flash continued to chase the villain while trying to find the perfect open to tackle him and end this stupid chase. He quickly jumped off the building and tried to tackle him, but he missed and was about to fall into the ice ramp. He was until the ice ramp shattered and he got caught by a certain pink haired sorceress.
"Nice catch." Kid Flash commented.
"Go get him." Jinx said as she placed Kid Flash back on the ground.
Suddenly, a red blur ran past the two which startled the sorceress, but Kid Flash wasn't. "Did you see that?" Jinx asked.
"You bet your pink hair I did." Kid Flash replied.
"Who was that?"
They watched as Icicle JR continued to make form more ice ramps to slide on until the red blur tackled him off the ramp and crashing on top of a building. "Hello there."
The ice themed villain saw who tackled him; it was a man wearing a red spandex suit and mask with a yellow lightning bolt symbol on his chest. "I don't think we were introduced, I'm The Flash." Said the red spandex hero. "What's your name?"
Icicle Jr screamed as he got up and fired an ice blast from his hand, but the red speedster dodged it. "Aaaahhh, pleasure to meet you."
The Flash quickly punched Icicle Jr in the face, knocking him out. "I think you just need to chill."
Kid Flash in a blur, carrying Jinx in his arms, bridal style. "Flash."
The Flash turned around and smiled at his protege. "Kid, great to see you again."
"You too. How's Iris?"
"Iris is doing great, thanks." Flash replied speaking very quickly.
"I'm doing well, before you ask." Kid Flash retorted, now speaking just as fast as his mentor.
"New team going well?"
"Going amazing."
"Justice League, going solid."
Jinx watched the sight with her invisible eyebrow raised in confusion, since the two speedsters were talking really quickly. "Hey, you two!"
Kid Flash and The Flash stopped talking and both acknowledged the pink haired sorceress. "Sorry, got carried away." Kid Flash apologised.
"Friend of yours?" Flash asked.
"Girlfriend." Kid Flash replied.
"Actually-" Before Jinx could say anything, Kid Flash ran up to her and shook his head.
"Girlfriend?" Flash reacted. "You sure she's a good pick?"
"Trust me she is." Kid Flash assured him.
"Ex-criminal seems like an odd choice." Flash said. "Then again, you dated an archer and a student journalist who tried to find out my identity."
"Our identities." Kid Flash corrected him.
"Right."
Jinx glared at the two, since they were talking at top speed again. "Hey!"
"Sorry, got sidetracked again." Flash apologised. "You want to know something strange?"
"What?" Kid Flash asked.
"This, Icicle guy wasn't the first ice themed villain I encountered today." Flash explained. "Killer Frost attacked an ice rink today."
"Funny you should say that." Jinx interjected before the two started talking at top speed again. "Me and Kid Flash encountered Mr Freeze earlier today."
"Really?" Flash asked. "Seems like a bizarre coincidence."
"I agree." Kid Flash said. "An ice themed villain team up. It will be ice puns galore."
Flash chuckled. "I think you better get back to bed before your Mom kills you."
"Yeah sure." Kid Flash said. "And you better get back before your wife kills you."
"See you soon kid, you too Jinx." Flash said before he ran off the building and headed home.
Jinx glared at Kid Flash and angrily asked, "Why did you tell him I was your girlfriend? He isn't coming for your Christmas get together."
"Trust me, it's best he knew." Kid Flash's explained.
"Right, let's get back to your place." Jinx requested. "All the lights and decorations are making me sick."
Kid Flash's gave Jinx a nod, picked her up and ran back home.
Meanwhile at Belle Reve penitentiary, Icicle Jr is being escorted by two prison guards into the facility.
"Welcome to your new home." Said the prison guard as he was escorted into the cell that also had Mr Freeze.
Icicle stared at his cell door before turning to the scientist and asked, "Is it time?"
"Not yet." Freeze replied. "But we will be soon and I will soon have Nora out."
The next day.
Jinx was sleeping on the bed, resting peacefully until she accidentally rolled out of her bed, landing on the floor with a thud. The sorceress sat up and rubbed her head. She stood up and stared outside the window and saw the same house, the one where she destroyed the Christmas lights with her hex powers; and a man cleaning up the broken glass on the ground. The sorceress chuckled at the man's misfortunes.
There was a knock on the door and the sorceress answered it seeing Kid Flash still in his uniform. "Morning." Kid Flash said.
Jinx analysed Kid Flash and noted, "You're in costume."
Kid Flash looked down and realised he still was. "Whoops." The speedster ran back to his room and came back, now wearing his civilian clothing, which was a yellow shirt and brown pants.
"So, are we going to get breakfast?" Jinx asked.
"Yeah. Mom's expecting me to make breakfast actually." Kid Flash replied.
"Really?" Jinx asked with an invisible eyebrow raised.
"Yeah. Why? You don't think I'll be a good cook?" Wally asked. "See you downstairs, where you'll get to witness my Christmas Eve feast." Wally zoomed downstairs and the sound of the stove being turned on is heard.
Jinx just groaned as the thought Christmas centred breakfast just made her cringe.
Meanwhile at Belle Reve.
A security guard was watching a live recording of Mr Freeze and Icicle Jr resting their cells. His partner approached him and threw a ball at his head. "West." The guard groaned.
"Sorry, got a little bored." Replied the man who sported a brown moustache. His partner laughed at West's apology. "What are they doing?"
"Just chilling." West's partner replied.
West sighed at his partner's dumb ice pun. "Ice puns?"
"It's Christmas Eve, man."
"Sure, whatever you say Willis."
Meanwhile.
Icicle Jr was doing push-ups in his cell while Mr Freeze was resting in his bed. The scientist got out of bed and approached the security guard guarding the cell. "My friend, do you know what time it is?"
"It's 10:30 Am." The guard replied.
Mr Freeze gave the guard an acknowledging stare and says to him, "You know what to do."
The guard smiles and taps into his phone causing Mr Freeze's and Icicle's collars to detach from their necks.
Back in the security room, the two guards noticed a separate monitor beeping. "Hey West, four de-powering collars just went off."
West ran up to the monitor and typed in the password to see who's collars just went off. "Willis, Mr Freeze, Polar Boy's, Icicle's and Killer Frost's collars just went off."
Willis fell back on his chair and was about to pull the fire alarm, until his hand gets frozen stiff the sound of a freeze ray.
West looked at who did this shocking act which just so happened to be Killer Frost. "Not so fast."
Meanwhile, guards tried to apprehended the suspects but they just got frozen by a young male with spiky hair firing ice out of his hands. "Polar Boy is in the house."
Meanwhile, Mr Freeze and Icicle Jr exited their cells and stood with the security guard, watching the madness take place. "Thank you Snart."
The security guard took off his uniform to reveal he was in fact, Captain Cold. "You're welcome Freeze. When do we start with the blackmail?"
"That will come my friend, soon enough." Mr Freeze replied.
Meanwhile, at the West house, but hours after the ensuing hostage situation, Mrs West is seen making Christmas dinner with Wally at her side. She was chopping the carrots while Wally was adding some spices to the chicken.
Wally put his finger on the chicken intending to have a small taste, but his mother noticed this and smacked his hand. "Wally."
"Sorry Mom, my metabolism." Wally said, defending himself. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and then Wally ran to answer it.
"Wally, no running in the house!" Exclaimed Mrs West.
Wally opened the door to be greeted by a red haired woman and a blonde haired man. "Hey Aunt Iris, hey Uncle Barry."
"Hey Kid, long time no see." Said the kid's uncle who gave his nephew a pat on the shoulder and then a hug.
"Hey, give your aunt one." Iris pushed Barry aside and gave her nephew a hug. "How the heck have you been?"
"Ya know, been running." Wally replied as his aunt and uncle entered the house.
"We also got word from your mother that you have a girlfriend." Barry interjected.
"Is she another student reporter, Wally?" Iris asked. "Because if she is, dump her ASAP."
"No, she's an ex villain." Wally replied.
"That sounds better than a journalist." Said Barry.
"Is it by any chance that Jinx character I've been hearing about?" Iris asked.
"How do you know?" Wally asked.
"How do you think?" Mary shouted from the kitchen, implying she told Iris.
"So, where is the lucky lady?" Barry asked.
"She's in the living room currently."
Meanwhile Jinx was sitting in the living room looking at pictures of a young Wally in his toy chemistry lab which made Jinx chuckle. "Ha, freckles."
She noticed a family photo album titled 'Memories.' She picked up the book and sat down on the couch to read it. The first page had Mrs West holding a baby Wally West, looking like she had just given birth to him. She turned the page and saw a picture of a red haired woman holding a baby Wally West. She turned the page and sees a picture of a young Wally West standing with his family, the red headed woman and a blonde haired man, all standing by a Christmas tree.
She turned the page again and this time saw the same image, but this time with a more older Wally West. She turned the page and sees Kid Flash and Flash standing with Wally's family; still standing beside a Christmas tree. As she turned the pages seeing the family having Christmas dinner, she got aggressive the more she turned the pages. Then as soon as she got to the last page, the book suddenly caught in pink flames due to Jinx's hex powers.
Jinx screeched and started panicking. She threw the book on the floor and started stamping on the book with her foot in an effort to put the fire out.
Meanwhile in the kitchen, Mrs West was just adding the mince to the mince pies until she smelt some burning. "Fire!"
Back in the living room, Jinx managed to put out the fire just as Barry, Iris and Wally entered to see the book turned to a crisp.
Jinx turned to the three and gave them a nervous stare. "Um...I accidentally dropped it into the fireplace."
"We have no fireplace." Wally pointed out.
Mrs West then ran into the living room wielding a fire extinguisher. "Where's the fire?"
"Mrs West, please let me explain." Jinx begged.
"Did you start the fire?!" She angrily asked.
"Well it was an accident." Jinx replied.
"How?" Mrs West asked.
"Well, I was reading your little photos album and then...then..."
"Then what?!"
"Mary, give her some time to explain." Iris requested to her sister.
"Why?!" Mary asked. "She burnt the book of all our Christmas memories!"
"I'm sorry, okay!" Jinx exclaimed. "I put it out."
Suddenly, the book caught fire again and Barry snatched the fire extinguisher out of her hand and put the fire out.
The sorceress gave the family an apologetic stare before she ran out of the room.
"On the bright side, she's still better than Linda." Barry quipped.
Wally ran to find where Jinx was which wasn't very far since she was outside sitting on the bench. "Jinx, what happened?"
"You know what happened." Jinx snapped.
"No I don't." Wally replied. "I never knew you had fire powers."
"I don't have fire powers, I just set the photo album on fire."
"Why did you?" Wally asked.
"It's to do with my hatred for Christmas." Jinx replied.
"Look Jinx, I know you hate Christmas but...you shouldn't have burn that book." Wally said. "Now, Mom's going to kill you and then me. She'll probably say 'She's worse than Linda, why did you think of bringing her if she hates Christmas?!'
"Wally, the reason is stupid." Jinx replied.
"How is it stupid?!" Kid Flash exclaimed. "I know Christmas is over commercialised but that doesn't mean you had to go ahead and burn that book!"
Jinx looked away from Wally trying to hold back the tears, the young boy gave his 'girlfriend' a sympathetic stare and started to walk up to her. "Hey, you can tell me."
Jinx turned to face Wally, now tears falling down her face. Just then, their moment was interrupted when Barry entered the backyard. "Kid, we got a problem."
In the kitchen, Mary and Iris were staring at the TV with worried looks on their faces. Then Barry, Wally and Jinx entered the kitchen.
"What's going on?" Wally asked.
"Shh." Iris hushed her nephew and motioned him to watch the news.
"The hostage situation at Belle Reve has been going on for five hours and is being lead by Doctor Victor Fries, now known as Mr Freeze. We don't have any...What's that?...We have some footage from the prison...Play it."
The footage was Icicle Jr trying to adjust the camera. He moved the camera to Mr Freeze who was just cocking his freeze ray.
"To those who are viewing this, this prison is under temporary management until I get what I desire." Mr Freeze started. "I want the specimen known as AZ-53, a chemical I need to manufacture a cure for my dying wife. If I don't get what I want than I will turn Central City, Gotham City, Jump City and Happy Harbor into winter wonderlands for 300 years. And trust me, it's something I wish not to do. You have until Christmas Day before..." Freeze pulled Rudy West to the screen. "...this man will watch his city and family become ice sculptures."
Wally and Mary froze in fear at the sight of Mr Freeze holding the man hostage. "Dad." Wally reacted.
"Rudy!" Mrs West shouted.
"You have until midnight to whoever is watching. Get me what I want and I spare your wretched lives!"
The footage then cuts to static while the West family, Barry, Iris and Jinx stared at the screen in horror.
Mary then sat on the kitchen chair, fearing for her husband's safety. Iris approached her and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It's ok, he'll be fine." Iris assured her.
Wally ran to his mom's side. "Mom, don't worry, we're going to get Dad out of this mess."
"You three better." Iris said to her nephew.
"Three?" Jinx asked. "Who said there was going to be three? I mean, I'd obviously try and rescue him, but who's number three?"
Wally zoomed out of the kitchen and came back wearing his Kid Flash costume. "How rude of us to not iterate. You got the ring Barry?"
"I don't leave home without it." Barry replied. Barry pushed a golden ring on the finger in-between his thumb and middle finger, causing the ring to shoot out a familiar red suit and quickly got dressed into it. "See?"
Jinx stared at the red suited man in bewilderment since she wasn't at all expecting Wally's uncle to be the Flash. "I know, surprising." Flash said. "Good thing I didn't do that with Linda."
"So Jinx, you coming with us?" Kid Flash asked.
"Of course." Jinx said. "But only because of my duty as a hero, not because I want to get on your Mom's good side."
"I think you need to get on my good side as well." Flash said before he ran out of the house.
Kid Flash soon picked up Jinx, bridal style and followed his uncle's lead to Belle Reve.
Meanwhile at Belle Reve, Icicle Jr and Killer Frost were playing cards in the security room, while Polar Boy was watching the monitors of the exterior of the prison, while Mr Freeze and Captain Cold were watching the hostages.
"I'm sorry that your families won't be seeing you on a day like this." Mr Freeze said. "But family is what's more for holidays like these and for me, it's going to be the 4th Christmas without Nora at my side, if they don't give me what I want."
"Freeze, this isn't the way to handle things." Said Rudy.
"I believe it is." Mr Freeze said.
"Hey, Mr Fries." Polar Boy said.
"What is it? And it's Freeze."
"Whatever." Polar Boy retorted. "We got company, two speedsters and a witch."
Mr Freeze looked at the screen and sees Flash, Kid Flash and Jinx standing outside the penitentiary.
"Ah, company." Mr Freeze commented.
"So, what do we do Freeze?" Asked Killer Frost. "Do you want me to give them a cold welcome?"
"Not exactly Frost." Freeze replied. "Our guests better have brought their skates."
Outside the prison, Flash was knocking on the door and after a few more knocks, Kid Flash shrugged his shoulders. "Guess, no one's home. Should we knock harder?"
"Jinx, have you blown up plenty of bank vaults over the years?" Flash asked.
"Countless." Jinx replied.
"How about prison doors?"
"I thought you'd never ask." Jinx replied with her eyes glowing pink. Then she blew the door open by firing a powerful hex blast. Once the door was knocked down, the trio saw that the floor was now covered in ice.
"Okay, I think they were waiting for us." Flash pointed out.
"What would have happened if it was the Justice League?" Kid Flash asked.
"They're busy doing their jobs." Flash replied. "Hey Jinx, since you burnt my sister in-law's book earlier, how about you heat things up in there?"
"Do I look like Hot Spot?" Jinx rudely asked.
"How did you burn the book?" Flash asked accusingly.
"Look, sometimes my emotions are what triggers my powers." Jinx snapped.
"Well, what triggered it?" Flash asked.
"Can't we just use something practical?" Jinx asked.
"Thought you'd never ask." Kid Flash said, pulling an aerosol can and a lighter out of his pocket. Kid Flash fired up the lighter and sprayed the aerosol can, using it as a flamethrower to melt away the ice.
Back in the security room, the ice themed villains glared at the screen, angrily.
"A lighter and an aerosol can, our one weakness." Icicle reacted, acting all dramatic.
"Your dramatic performance does not amuse me Mahkent." Freeze said.
"But did you even have a backup?" Captain Cold asked.
"Sure. Snart, with me."
Meanwhile, Kid Flash managed to melt all the ice away while his uncle and 'girlfriend' stood impressed.
"But I still want to know how you did that fire power." Flash said to Jinx.
"Race you to the security room?" Kid Flash asked his uncle.
"You bet kid." Flash said.
Flash and Kid Flash start running towards the security room, but suddenly, the two get frozen in solid ice. "Flash!" Jinx shouted.
"Hello child."
Jinx looked up and sees Mr Freeze and Captain Cold walking down the stairs. "How are you liking the Christmas wonderland?"
"I would've if I wasn't such a Scrooge." Jinx replied.
"Oh boy, sounds like someone hates Christmas." Captain Cold said.
"It appears she does." Mr Freeze agreed. "Tell me child, why do you hate Christmas?"
"I just can't stand it." Jinx replied. "So what?"
"The people who can't stand it have their reasons." Mr Freeze said.
"Is this really important?" Jinx asked.
"I'm trying to know you."
"That's what the last guy said before I knocked him out with a wet floor sign." Jinx said before she performed a back flip just as ice beams hit the spot she was standing on before.
Jinx looked up and sees Killer Frost, Icicle Jr and Polar Boy leaning against the railings just one floor above her.
"Now I know why you wanted to talk." Jinx said.
"Exactly." Mr Freeze said before he fired his freeze ray at the pink haired sorceress, but she performed a cartwheel and glared at Freeze with her eyes glowing pink. Just as Freeze was about to attack, his armour suddenly stopped working.
"Bad luck?" Captain Cold asked Freeze.
"Exactly." Jinx replied before she snapped her fingers, making Captain Cold's gun implode, causing Cold to be encased in ice.
Killer Frost tried to punch Jinx, but the sorceress evaded each punch. She caught Frost's fist in her hand at one point, but Jinx soon let go when her hand started smoking.
"Im below sub-zero, sweetie..." Killer Frost said as she started to form an ice ball. "...I'm untouchable."
Frost threw the ice ball, but Jinx dodged it causing it to hit Icicle Jr instead.
Polar Boy fired some ice from his hands, but Jinx dodged it and kicked him in the face. Icicle Jr threw an ice spear at Jinx, but she blew it up with a hex blast, turning it into ice cubes.
Jinx fired a wave of hex blasts at the remaining ice themed villains, causing them to be thrown back. They were about to get up, but Jinx fired a huge round of hex energy to make them unconscious.
"Right, time to thaw my allies and save the-" Just as Jinx was about to finish her sentence, she got knocked out by a metallic arm.
"My armour doesn't stay broken for long, child." Freeze said. "Thaw out Snart and prepare the next broadcast."
Later.
Jinx woke up later feeling a little cold and stiff, like a part of her was encased in ice. That's because a part of her was and only her head was sticking out. "Hey." Jinx sees that she was in the security room, seeing Icicle Jr stopping the camera from recording.
"That was amazing boss."
"I hope that was honesty, I don't appreciate the suck-ups." Freeze said.
"Hey, how come I'm not fully frozen?!" Jinx angrily asked.
"That was my intention, but my gun froze halfway through." Freeze replied.
"Now we're stuck with a rather amusing sight." Killer Frost laughed.
"When I get out of this ice prison, I'm going to melt all of you!" Jinx exclaimed.
"Yeah sure, except you can only melt two of us." Polar Boy explained. "Three if you're counting Icicle."
"Hey!" Yelled Icicle Jr. "Do you want a spear in your chest?!"
"Go ahead and bring it, poor excuse for an Icicle." Polar Boy said.
"Why, you..."
"Icicle, Polar Boy." Freeze interjected. "Your bickering is not worth your time. You two are to go down with Frost and Snart to set up our weapon, we only have an hour till midnight."
"Great, I get the-"
"One insult that sets them off and I throw you in the boiler room." Freeze threatened Frost.
Freeze's threat didn't faze Frost just made her roll her eyes. "Come on you two." Frost said before she and the two exit the room to fire up their weapon.
"Hmm, they haven't brought what I wanted for a long time." Freeze remarked. "Perhaps they believe I'm bluffing."
"Do you actually that being the way you are will bring your wife back?" Jinx asked.
"Perhaps I'm starting to regret not freezing your head, child." Freeze commented.
"But do you?"
"I don't enjoy what I do, but sometimes I consider doing the wrong thing the right way to get what I want."
"You have a choice." Jinx said.
"I know." Freeze said. "Why say that? I know I have a choice. Do you think I was forced into this life, I went to this life because I saw no other way. Everything was gone that day, my money, my research, everything."
"Do you actually think your wife will appreciate what you've done?" Jinx asked. "Freezing entire cities on Christmas just because you want a cure."
"I don't want to do it, but I have no choice!" Freeze exclaimed.
"But why on Christmas? Wouldn't the summer be more fitting?" Jinx asked.
Mr Freeze stared at Jinx before he lifted up his visor to talk. "Christmas, a time of forgiving and spending the day with the ones you love. How can you spend those days when you have no one? For four years, I have been spending Christmas by myself for four years and..." Freeze takes off his helmet to reveal a very pale balding man. "...it doesn't do well when you're somebody whose wife is sick and encased in ice so you can find a cure. How can I keep going? How can I keep going spending my Christmases without her? How come everyone in the world has someone beside them on Christmas, while I have nobody?"
"So, you're threatening to freeze everybody because...You want them to understand your pain." Jinx theorised.
"Not just that...It sounds petty, I know, but I can't stand seeing families so happy while I stare at my beloved, crying, praying that she is listening, praying that somebody will announce that they found the cure. I know I might seem shallow, but all I want is to be my with my wife. Feeling her warm hand while we rest by the open fire." Freeze sighed as he sat down on the chair. "You hate Christmas anyway, I doubt you'll understand how I feel."
While Freeze was talking, Jinx felt sorry for the ice themed villain. Throughout, she gave him a very sympathetic stare like she understood why he was doing it, like she understood why he was cold towards Christmas, like she understood his pain. And after Freeze finished, the sorceress managed to melt her way out of her icy prison.
Freeze didn't seem to care she escaped because he was staring at the floor, allowing tears to fall from his face. Jinx approached Freeze and placed a warm hand on his shoulder. "Freeze, I know what it's like not having family around Christmas. I'm confident you'll find that cure, but robbing chemical plants isn't going to synthesise it faster. You need to have faith that your research will save her, not crime. Crime isn't the way, I know that from experience."
Freeze gave Jinx a teary eyed stare like her words actually struck a core with him. Something that Batman nor Robin could ever do.
Mr Freeze opened a drawer and pulled out four key cards. "These key cards can deactivate the missiles, we need to turn them simultaneously."
"How?" Jinx asked.
Freeze approached the frozen Flashes and used his armour to punch the ice and break them out.
Kid Flash and Flash fell to the floor, shivering due to them being frozen. "Ok, the cold is bothering me." Kid Flash said.
"Just vibrate your molecules to heat yourself up." Flash suggested. "Usually heated me up after being frozen by Captain Cold."
Kid Flash took notice of Mr Freeze and grabbed him by his armour. "Alright Freeze, where are the hostages?!"
"They are alright, I assure you." Mr Freeze replied. "But they'll come later, right now we need to stop the missiles."
Kid Flash shook his head in surprise due to what Mr Freeze said. "Okay, who are you? And what did you do to the real Freeze?" The Flash asked.
"Flashes, he wants to help." Jinx retorted. "He knows how to stop them and it's up to the four of us to do so."
"Um...Were we frozen for a long time?" Asked Kid Flash.
"You've been frozen for a few hours." Mr Freeze replied.
"So, a long time?"
"Long for a cocky speedster." Mr Freeze replied just as Kid Flash let him go.
We mustn't joke, we only have 50 minutes till they launch." Mr Freeze replied.
"Well, let's go." Kid Flash said.
"I'll meet up with you, you try and stop the others." Mr Freeze requested.
"Why can't we just carry you there?" Kid Flash asked. "Ya know, since it'll be faster."
"Do I look light enough to carry?" Mr Freeze asked.
"He's got a point kid." Flash said. "And let me tell ya, my arms are tired from wrapping Christmas decorations I don't need to carry a heavy trash can.
Meanwhile.
Icicle Jr, Captain Cold, Killer Frost and Polar Boy are seen in what appeared to be the lower decks of the prison, arming the missiles. "Oh yeah, 47 minutes." Yelled Icicle Jr.
"Don't you wish this could go faster?" Polar Boy asked
"Hey, Freeze promised the scared citizens that this goes off at midnight." Frost reminded them. "He may be a crook, but he's a crook of his word."
"Oh, forget Freeze." Captain Cold interjected. "I say we speed things up and turn those cities into winter wonderlands, except Freeze might freeze me."
"Besides, I doubt one of us is a hacker." Polar Boy said.
"Launch initiating in 8 minutes."
"Lucky I am." Icicle Jr.
"Jr!" Exclaimed Killer Frost.
"What? He's a slow walking trash can anyway." Icicle Jr retorted.
"If I get frozen then you I'll throw you into an electric saw-"
"-Sauna?" Flash interjected. "Sounds too hot for a walking Icicle."
"Now, I get why he's called Icicle Jr." Kid Flash said.
"You four are definitely going to the cooler." Flash's pun caused everyone in the room to groan. "What? They're actually fun."
Killer Frost fired a beam of ice from her hands, but the Flashes and Jinx managed to dodge them; Jinx retaliated by firing a hex blast at Frost.
Polar Boy was about to fire another beam of ice, but Kid Flash pushed him, causing him to fall on the floor.
Icicle Jr managed to cover the floor in ice, but it quickly melted away and the teenaged villain got a look at Flash turning on the heating. "Sorry, it was a little cold."
Icicle Jr managed to form an ice spear and threw it, but Flash quickly dodged it and ran towards the teenaged villain and punched him.
Meanwhile, Polar Boy and Captain Cold tried their hardest to strike Kid Flash, but he was too fast for the ice themed villains. "Miss me." The speedster dodged another ray of ice. "Try again."
While Kid Flash and his uncle were annoying the ice themed villains, Jinx was in a fistfight with Killer Frost. The two were exchanging punches, but each of them was blocking every one.
"Say, didn't you get me to sign a picture of myself at villain-con?" Killer Frost asked Jinx.
"No, I think you got me mixed up with Klarion." Jinx said.
"What's the difference?" Killer Frost asked while blocking punches. "You both have devil horns, pale and have voices I can't stand."
Jinx performed a back flip and then hex blasted Polar Boy. "Yeah, except my voice doesn't sound like a dog whistle." Jinx hex blasted Killer Frost, causing her to fly into a steam pipe.
Frost was about to get up, but got hit by Captain Cold's ice beam. "Sorry." Captain Cold said.
"Poor aim." Flash said to Cold before knocking him out.
Polar Boy and Icicle Jr tried to hit the speedsters with their ice beams, but were very unlucky. Polar Boy turned around and tried to hit Jinx, but she ducked and fired a blast at her attacker.
After he crashed into the wall, Kid Flash picked him up and threw him on Icicle Jr. The Flash ran past just as the two sat up. "You get the yellow one and his girlfriend, I after the red torpedo." Icicle said while pointing directions, ignoring the obvious power cancelling handcuffs linked on his right hand and Polar Boy's left hand.
Once they noticed it, the two were knocked out by a power punch from the speedsters.
"I guess that's everyone." Kid Flash said once he and his uncle stood with Jinx.
Suddenly, they heard an ice beam go off and prepared their defence positions. But instead, they saw Captain Cold frozen in a block of ice and Mr Freeze approaching them. "Sorry I'm late." Mr Freeze said.
"Okay, how much time do we have left?" Jinx asked while Mr Freeze approached the missile in front of him.
"Not long." Freeze replied. "I suggest we do this as quick as possible."
"Quick and possible are my middle names." Kid Flash said with an egotistical smile.
"Quickly now." Freeze said.
Flash, Kid Flash, Jinx and Freeze stood by four separate control pads with their key cards ready. They stuck them where they belonged, ready for the right moment.
"At the same time. One, two...three!" Freeze, Jinx, Flash and Kid Flash twisted their keys, causing the launch to be deactivated.
Kid Flash gave a relived smile and said, "Yippie Ki Yay-"
"Language!" Flash interjected.
Later.
Rudy West and a large number of security guards were stuck in a solitary cell, waiting for when they had to watch the missiles launch. They heard the sound of the door opening and saw the Flash, Jinx and Kid Flash. "Hey D-I mean, Mr West." Kid Flash greeted.
"Did he almost call you Dad?" Asked one of the guards.
"It's happened once or twice." Rudy replied.
The next day.
Jinx was sitting on a bench in the backyard, watching the snow fall. After the little prison escapade, the ice themed villains all got locked up and sent to a more confined security prison. Jinx managed to fix things with Mrs West even after accidentally burning the photos book. The pink haired sorceress continued to stare at the snow falling, not noticing the person standing beside her.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Wally asked.
"It actually is." Jinx replied while Kid Flash took a seat next to her.
"What's happening to Freeze?" Jinx asked.
"He's going to be locked up, but the warden allowed him to continue his research during his stay." Wally replied.
"Is that a good idea?" Jinx asked.
"Cops on this planet are stupid anyway." Wally replied.
"Couldn't even catch me." Jinx chuckled.
"But speaking of Freeze, how did you manage to convince him to change sides?"
"I connected with him." Jinx replied. "He and I hate Christmas for the same reason."
"Commercials?" Wally jokingly asked.
"The absence of family." Wally's smile disappeared when Jinx replied with that answer.
"Oh. I'm sorry." Wally apologised.
"Don't blame yourself. Every Christmas at the HIVE, I would sneak out and wander the city. I don't know why I did, but during my walks, I noticed families opening presents, eating turkey and spending their nights watching Christmas movies. I never had that and I always asked myself, 'How come I don't have that?' That's possibly why I burnt the book, seeing you with a family just made me jealous...and my anger took control and that's why I burnt the book." Jinx had tears falling from her face explaining her sob story to Wally. "I'm so sorry."
Wally turned Jinx's head so she was facing him and he wiped her tears away with his hand. "Jinx, I know how much HIVE sucked for you and I understand why you hate Christmas, you felt alone. You're not alone anymore, you have the Titans, my family and...well me."
Jinx stared at Wally while he wiped away her tears, feeling somewhat touched by his words. She smiled at him and said, "I know I have you, you're my boyfriend after all."
Wally froze in surprise hearing Jinx refer to him as her boyfriend. "Wait, it's official?"
"Definitely." Jinx replied before she leaned in and pressed her lips against Wally's. The young boy was at first shocked but he then closed his eyes and returned the kiss. He wrapped one hand around Jinx's pink hair, while Jinx wrapped her hand on Kid Flash's back. The two pulled out of the kiss, smiling uncontrollably.
"Am I interrupting anything?"
Wally and Jinx quickly realised that Barry was standing in front of them, dressed in his Flash uniform.
"How long were you standing there?" Wally asked.
"I got to the part where you weren't official, until now." Flash replied. "I'm not going to tell your Mom your relationship was a lie until that point."
"Why are you dressed in your uniform?" Wally asked.
"Some jokester named Condiment King was robbing a church." Flash replied. "And now, I'm back for some Yule log."
"Yule log, heck yeah!" Shouted an excitable Wally.
"You coming you two?" Flash asked. "Or should I leave you under the mistletoe for longer?"
Wally and Jinx looked up and realised that they were sitting underneath a mistletoe. "I swear I didn't know that was there." Jinx said.
"Come along Romeo and Juliet." Flash said as he entered the house.
"You coming Jinx?" Wally asked as he stood up.
"You bet, babe." Jinx replied with a smile before she and her new boyfriend entered the house. "Let's hope Starfire doesn't find out anytime soon."
