Goodbye to a Fallen Warrior – Chapter 6

I'm completely nervous, I spare a glance to my best friend whom is stood beside me. I can tell by the look on his face that he's thinking of something to get us out of this mess.
"Calm down Supey" Wally says, obviously attempting and failing to calm the clone down.
"What did Wally mean Dick?!" he asks again, obviously attempting to calm himself down.

What do I say to him? That I lied to my best friend covering my own feeling for him with fake feeling for Conor. I honestly didn't know what to say, I'm seventeen years old and I've never been this scared, even against the Joker. Wally steps forward and begins speaking.

"You know what, I'll leave you two alone, you two obviously have a lot to talk about" I look at Wally, wide eyed, shocked by what he just said. Some best friend he is leaving me to get killed by Conor, he walks towards Conor and stops next to him, whispering something to him then leaves the room which Conor watching his movements. I gulp, this isn't going to end well, I have a gut feeling and I'm never wrong. Conor then turned and looks at me, he begins walking towards me, every step he took I felt my heart beat increase. He stops right in front of me, he pushes me down so I'm sitting on the couch.

"We need to talk" he glares at me "When were you going to tell me? How long would you have left it if I hadn't of overheard your conversation with kid mouth? How long have you felt like this? I had a right to know how you felt about me" I open my mouth to interrupt him but he puts his hand up "I'm not finished, you don't understand how happy I am that you like me back" Wait! What? Like him back… No! Not possible. I have a very confused look on my face. "I've liked you for a while now Dick I just wasn't sure how you felt, then Wally 'died' and you left the team. That was when I first realised that I had feelings for you" Oh shit! Warning signs were going off in my head. Not good abort conversation. Abort! Abort! Abort! He slowly sits down next to me. "I know it'll be weird at first but I think that we could work, what do you think?"

Be in a relationship with Conor? Maybe it's not a bad idea, I'll never get a chance with Wally and you never know I might eventually grow to like Conor in that way. I mean I'll admit he's hot, anyone can see that. I see Conor look at me with this unsure expression, shit he's wait for a reply.
"Erm wow Conor, I really don't know what to say. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, it's the last year has been really hard yanno and loosing Wally really hurt. I kept it from you because I never thought in a million years that you'd like me. I was ready to write it off as a simple crush. I think we could work but I want to keep it a secret for now okay Supey". A big, adorable grin graces super boy's face.

"Sure Dick, anything you want" I nod my head, I stand up and stretch.
"Okay, let's get back to Roy and Wally, they're probably worried about us" I begin to walk past him, he stands up.
"Sure, but one thing first"

Before I had the chance to reply, he pulls me into a kiss. Shit! He's kissing me, what do I do now? Without being sure what to do next, I kiss back. A couple of seconds later he pulls away, and smiles at me. I smile back, still recovering from the shock of the kiss.

Five minutes later we walk into the TV room to see Roy and Wally in a heated one on one battle on COD. Hearing us walk in, Wally pauses the game, he looks up at me and grins. He super speeds to me and hugs me, stood next to me Conor gives off an aggressive growl.
"Thank god Dick, I'm so glad you're not dead" I gently push Wally away from me, he gives me a confused look.
"Yeah I'm alive, no thanks to you" I glare at him, in reaction to that he gives me this adorable puppy dog look "Thanks for that man" I push past Wally and throw myself down next to Roy.
"Why was Conor so angry?" Roy asks.
"It doesn't matter we've sorted it"

I smile turning to look at Conor. He's talking to Wally about something, as if he feels me looking at him, Conor turns to look at me. He smiles and I smile back, this might actually work. Maybe. At that second, Bruce walks in.
"Slumber party's over, boys you're going to have to go, Dick suit up and meet me and Tim in the Bat Cave in 5 minutes"
Without waiting for a reply he leaves the room, I stand up and turn to my friends.
"Sorry guys, you gotta go" I sigh "so not feeling whelmed"
"I'll phone you later okay" Wally says.
"Sure KF"
Wally disappears in the direction of Central city and Roy was waiting in his car for Conor. Conor closes the door so Roy wouldn't see us and pulls me into another mind blowing kiss. A couple of minutes he pulls away.
"I'll see you later" he smiles as I shut the door as he leaves.

I sigh and walk towards the door that led to the Bat Cave, I'm supposed to be retired, and I guess I have no reason now. When I reach the bottom of the stairs I see Batman and Robin sitting at the computer. I quickly get change and join them.
"Hey! Who's troubling us tonight" I ask looking at the screen.
"Red Hood" Batman says quietly, my eyes widen.
"Jason? What's he done now?" I ask. Jason Todd is the bane of Batman's existence, he used to be the old Robin before Tim took over. However he was killed by the Joker, and was brought back to life by Ra's Al Ghul (Under the Red Hood spoilers :)). Ever since his return to Gotham he's been a major pain in the arse, but what do you expect from little brothers.
"He's killed two crime lords and stole thousands of dollars from their safes" typical the boy doesn't change.
"Where is he? We going to go after him?" I ask knowing it won't be that easy.
"You know it's not that easy Nightwing" see told you so "Jason has always enjoyed messing with you. I want you to go out and 'Patrol' and draw him out, talk to him, get close and knock him out" I nod my head. I hear a sound and turn to see my favourite motor cycle come up, I climb on and start the engine but Batman stops me.
"It's good to have you back" I nod my head "Oh and Dick… Be careful"

I exit the Bat Cave and enter the streets, I park up and climb onto a roof top. All I have to do is sit and wait. I watch the cars below go as I think about the events of the day. I can't believe I'm dating Superboy, I can't believe how much this is screwed. So no feeling the aster, I sigh and continue to watch the city, until I feel the presence behind me.
"Hello Dick" I turn around.
"Hello Jason" the plans working for now.
