Merry Christmas, Alex! (I'm not putting your whole account name in here, because I'm worried that it's your first and last name.) We've only talked a handful of times, and those have always been fun conversations. I know you really like ZenYuki, and that you've definitely needed some ZenYuki fan reassurance, so here's some. (I love ZenYuki, and naturally I got that same reassurance from the ZenYuki Writing Server as well. They've reassured me and made me breathe easier.) Happy New Year! I hope that you have an awesome day and an incredible week! Merry Christmas!

Some people say that it can't possibly be this easy, that it can't start out so delicate that one doesn't see it, at all. Some say that true love can't be found when two people are starting from two very different places or that a woman not born to wealth can't love a prince for something other than his money.

Yet, does this even need an explanation? Zen's hand rests gingerly against hers, and she feels more at home here than she had felt back in an empty house after her grandparents had died. This is home. The right words probably couldn't do this justice.

With Zen, things are as natural as breathing, only every now and again, is there a stutter. It's when something warm seeps in, surprising in its sheer joy. With Zen, there has never been anything that makes her want to say 'goodbye.'

There have been challenges and hardships, but every good relationship needs to be tried, needs to be checked for worthiness, and every person needs to be challenged to grow. Growing together is it's own special walk. A walk that Shirayuki is grateful to walk, a path that Shirayuki loves, even if the journey isn't always easy.

Zen, as the man that she fell for, as the man that initially she only pursued friendship with, is well worth every hardship and challenge. Just being with him, even as a friend, is incredible; he's her best friend, someone that inspires and motivates her like no one else. And she loves him a lot.

He's the man that she hopes to marry someday, even if she can't quite picture what that marriage will look like, she still longs for the time where Zen and Shirayuki will begin to walk the forever path of marriage, will be together for the rest of their lives, no matter how they balance work with marriage, with one day family.

It's surreal to think about, so she pauses her dreamlike musings, to thread her fingers tighter through Zen's and live in this moment, as beautiful, simple, and ordinary it is. Zen's by her side, and that is such a beautiful delight that she wouldn't want to be anywhere else. This warmth and this joy is so sweet to the touch, so gentle, and beautiful, that all there is to do is savor it.
