Chapter 5: Mistakes are made

"I swear on my life, I'll protect this world that is precious and dear to me!"

-(Anonymous)

She sat down on a wooden stool, the walls of a plain, white room surrounding her. Her legs crossed, a thoughtful glint in her bright, crimson eyes as she pondered.

"Could it be...?" she mused out loud, although there was nobody in the room to hear her voice out her thoughts. She stood up from the stool, and walked towards the mirror that had instantly appeared. She put her long slender hand on the surface of the mirror, feeling the familiar heating of the mirror.

"She really doesn't remember...?" she murmured. "Maybe I was a little too playful" she said, her eyebrows crinkling in concentration as the mirror started to blur, slowly showing the image of two girls.

A blonde girl talking and putting a reassuring arm on the other girl's shoulder.

Crimson eyes watched in entertainment.

"Oh, she'll find out soon enough."

Red lips curved into a smile.

"How interesting"

"The winner of this competition is Chelia, who won using her quick reflexes, wit, and strength!"

The crowd roared in rare approval for the cute victor who eagerly waved and blew kisses to the adoring audience. Shelly proudly looked upon at her niece from the Lamia Scale guild box.

"I'm sorry..." Wendy murmured over and over again to her teammates, her head bowed in shame.

"I got distracted too easily, a-and Rogue-san" she sniffed.

"There, there" Charle said putting a paw on her back in reassurance.

"It's fine, Wendy!" Natsu said grinning. "If we lost this round, we just have to win back the points - did you smell Lucy?"

Erza slammed her metal adorned hand onto the top of Natsu's head, hard.

"Why'd you do tha-" he was cut off.

"Now is not the time to be thinking about that Natsu" she responded, her face thick with emotion at the mention of the fiesty blonde's name.

Wendy's face lit up at the comment, unaware to Natsu and Erza's quarrel.

"Yes! I actually did!"

Everybody's head snapped to the sky dragon slayer.

"Eh?!"

"She says she smelled Lucy!"

"Impossible!"

"What!?"

Natsu cackled loudly his hands bursting with fiery flames, "I told you, snow flake!" he said in a mocking tone, and then proudly.

"My nose is never wrong!"

"What'd ya say, flame brain!?"

This time it was Master's turn to slam a very large fist on top of Natsu and Grey's head. He turned to the small girl, sitting on a chair, her large blue eyes gleaming in excitement and anticipation.

"Is it true?" His voice neutral, not wanting to hope too hard.

Her eyebrows scrunched in concentration.

"I...think so, not directly though" she paused, thoughtful.

"It was very faint and spread apart throughout the battle arena..." she trailed off. She bowed her head in shame, once again.

"I'm sorry!" She said, her bangs covering her eyes. "I couldn't pinpoint an exact location" the poor girl looked like she would burst into tears any moment.

"It's fine! In fact this is great!" Cana cheered happily, pulling Wendy close to her breasts, squishing the poor girl.

"E-eh? Cana-sa-" she started.

Cana grinned. "It's better than nothing, right? And now we have a lead" she turned to everyone who seemed disappointed at the news.

"At least we know Lucy's not dead!"

Everyone seemed to brighten at that statement.

"That Cynthia chick looked strong!" Natsu said, flames covering his fists. "I wanna fight her!"

"Do you wanna fight everyone, hot sauce?"

"What did you say snow princess?"

"Why you-"

While everyone talked in happiness, Cana turned back to her thoughts.

Her eyes trained on one girl in the Devil Tears box guild. Her unique violet hair trailed down her back in long locks. Her green eyes that seemed emotionless.

"Cynthia Kurosake, S-class mage...why did she lose...if her power really is.." she murmured out.

"Cana? Did you say something?" Macao inquired.

Her face broke out into a smile.

"Nothing"

"EHHHH!?" Haru exclaimed, frozen in shock. "You lost!?"

"Haru!" Chihiro lightly chastised at the speechless boy.

Cynthia closed her green eyes and sat down in the chair in front of her. With a sigh she replied.

"Yes"

"B-b-b-b-but..."

"Hey" Lucy said, poking Haru's side as he unfroze. "At least we didn't come in last" she smiled, still wearing the cloak.

Haru sighed. "I guess, but..." his eyes trailed over Lucy's cloak. "Why are you wearing your cloak?"

"Oh..." Lucy helplessly trailed off nervously. "Uhh..." she looked at Inori, who efficiently distracted Haru with the prospect of going first in the next round, to where he responded happily, thrusting his fists into the air.

The single battles had already begun, their guild not called. Judging from the audiences loud, encouraging roars. '

She did wonder though.

Why had Cynthia lost? She was S-Class, surely she could've handed them. She looked at Cynthia who looked entranced by the battle. Her eyes following every movement and gesture.

She collapsed in a nearby chair with a sigh. She knew Ikuto was also curious about why she had been wearing a cloak, but Ikuto was naturally a person who kept opinions to himself, and for that, she was grateful.

She couldn't hide the fact forever, and soon, she would have to tell them her past in Fairytail.

She wondered what would come first.

Her encountering Fairytail.

Or Fairytail encountering her.

Three heavily cloaked figures watched from the crowd. Two sat down, while one stood up and leaned on the hard wall of the colosseum.

"Lucy's guild didn't win" she murmured, almost in anger.

"That Chelia girl looks quite the opponent" the high pitched voice said in amusement. "A god-slayer eh? Cynthia too" she whistled. "Haven't seen that bitch in a long time"

"The last time you saw her, she did you in, Six" the gruff voice said.

There was a sudden change in the atmosphere. It turned dark and...malicious.

"Shut up!" Six snarled at the man leaning on the wall, Nine, while several people next to them slowly scooting away from the source of the angry voice.

"I'll kill her! That bitch!" she said angrily, her fist clenching tighter, and tighter.

"It'll be hard" he responded. "She isn't ranked one for nothing"

She noticeably grinned under her cloak. "When master give me my new power the first thing I'll do is rip out that bitch's vocal chords, and retaliate exactly what she did to me"

"...Do you have a grudge against Cynthia or something" the other voice asked. Hesitant not to make her mad again.

"Oh, newbie, you have no idea, "

"Do you have the information."

The voice stated. It was not a question, it was a demand.

"Yes, master" both them said in union. The kneeled in front of the man, heads bowed in respect. The man sat on a large chair, his dominance and aura fairly evil.

"And the escapade prisoner, one of Fiore's most wanted criminals on loose, I assume you helped with that"

"Yes, master"

His lips curled into what could of been a smile.

"How is the girl?"

The boy sneered while kneeling.

"Weak" he said with distaste. "We should've replaced someone else"

The girl laughed.

"All she does all day is cry for her siblings, I can't even play with her without getting bored."

"Careful" boomed the man. "I need her, she is very...valuable"

The girl and the boy looked at each other, both faces mirroring each other with distaste.

"How is the guild"

The boy responded first.

"The girl doesn't seem like she will be gaining her lost memories anytime soon, his power is too strong"

The man cursed, to which both of them flinched. He slammed a fist onto the armrest of the elegant chair.

"That cursed son of-" he stopped. His fist still shaking in anger. "Does she show any sign of her memories?"

"...No..." he said.

"Such a shame too..." the voice drawled in false sadness. "I'd love to play with him~"

He rolled his eyes.

"Silence!" He roared.

"Make sure she regains her memories, if she doesn't then all of this is for nothing! Now...return to your guild and make sure no one finds out."

"Yes master"

Blood.

Blood slowly dripped from her hands, her once red eyes turned back into her regular, piercing blue eyes.

"_ I'm scared" she was shaking, her frail body at her limit.

"Why is everyone dead? Okasabe-san, everyone..." her voice broke "Akari-san..." the woman who had treated her like a daughter.

The woman who had stared at her like a monster, tears streaming down her face before taking the knife and joining her husband.

Her.

A monster.

"Somebody..." she staggered back. "It hurts so much" she clutched her head in agony. The voices that had called her a demon.

The people that she had cared about. Loved.

All of them dead, puddles of blood underneath them.

Who?

Who did it?

You.

What?

You. You killed them. You. You. You. You. You. The monster.

Stop it! No!

You. You. You. You. You. Yo-

"_!" He yelled over to her. His eyes widening at the bloody scene, the disfigured bodies and the shaking girl.

"No! No! I don't want it! Everyone, everyone is dead!" she screamed. Her head pounding furiously. Tears streamed down her face.

"Why, _? Why is everyone calling me a monster?"

He nervously fidgeted. He didn't seem fazed by the amount of blood, but instead seemed fazed by the question.

He kneeled down besides her, dried blood on her hands.

"It's alright" he soothed. "It'll be fine"

She seemed to be on the verge of tears again. "No! I-I don't want this...I don't want to remember..."

He flinched at the word.

"What's going to happen now?" she said, trembling.

He stayed silent until he wrapped his arms around her. She slowly shifted, her blue eyes wide.

"It's alright" he said once again.

"I'll make you forget"

A/N: The ending was shitty.

I'm sorry! T.T

Just saying, the ending was not supposed to be creepy or anything...I just didn't know what to write . Sorry once again! The underscores are supposed to be names, I couldn't let their names be revealed too soon!

Anyway, plot development~ Things are going to get quite interesting from now on!

Try to make predictions! I love reading reviews, they make me so happy! In fact, the reason why I forced myself to write this chapter was because of a review!
