Chapter 7: Influence

"If you have the will to follow through with you beliefs, the results will follow naturally." -Kuroko Shirai

"Please...save her..."

Haru's eyes widened.

She was projected like a hologram, her image flickering on and off. She lay on the floor, a pool of blood surrounding her and getting larger by the moment.

Haru stared at her in shock.

"O-oi!" He rushed over to her, kneeling down next to her.

"Are you alrig-" he abruptly stopped as he hands went through her her shivering form.

The girl let out a crude laugh, her eyes closed in pain. "I'm afraid you can't help me" she said, her voice delicate and strangely calm for somebody who was laying in a pool of their own blood. She opened her eyes, a very peculiar shade of maroon he noted and quickly shook the thought out of his head and focused on the girl in front of him.

"Her name is Lucy, please find her"

Haru blinked.

She sighed "I guess I really haven't changed at all. Still expecting people to do everything I want" she muttered out "If only my past self could see me now..."

"Enough of that mumbojumbo!" Haru exclaimed, "look at your injuries! We have to get you to a doctor-where are you?"

She stared at him. Contemplating. There was silence.

"This is a dream" she said bluntly.

"Bu-" Haru started to speak as the girl closed her eyes once again and shook her head. Silence once again ensued.

The silence was broken as she started hacking violently, blood spilling from her mouth and her eyes unfocused.

"Monoke Village..." she murmured out, barely a whisper. Haru wouldn't have ever been able to hear it if it weren't for his keen hearing.

"W-wait! What are you are doing!?" Haru yelled out in surprise and confusion.

The girl was holding her hands to her neck, wrangling as hard as she could. Her pale hands were shaking from the strain.

"HEY!" he yelled, he slammed his fists down on the floor, his fists sailing through her transparent form. She stared at him and he stared back.

"WHY!?" he had met this girl less than 5 minutes ago and she was trying to kill herself!? He racked his brain for possible explanations, but he came out empty.

He wasn't Ikuto who could calmly analyze the situation and solve it.

She stilled, her hands leaving her neck to lay at her side. Her eyes watered.

"It seems...I am afraid of dying...after all this time...all that I had been prepared for-" she broke off, her voice cracking.

"Wha-what?" He didn't know how to respond, his body was frozen in place and his head was pounding. Mustering as much as strength as she could, she tilted her head to the side. Blood dribbled down her mouth, her eyes softened as if she were in a daze.

"Don't worry, again...reborn..again..." tears flowed down her face.

"Lu...Cy"

Her eyes glazed over and closed.

Her image faded.

Haru awoke sweating, he shifted into an upright position. His green eyes closed in exasperation, as he let out a dramatic sigh and flopped back onto the bed with his arms sprawled out.

"Huh...It was that dream again" he could see remember everything vividly. The first time he had ever had that dream he had been a mess when he woke up-he had been screaming for help. Inori shaking his shoulders, a worried look on her face while Ikuto had gone and gotten a glass or water.

He had explained the dream to them, only the most important parts.

A girl named Lucy.

Monoke Village.

The holographic girl.

He had left out the rest on purpose.

He groaned. He knew he should've told Lucy, maybe Lucy even knew who the person was but something kept him from saying it. He felt it was a bad omen of some sort and stored the dream at the back of his mind, until right now. The dream repeating in his head, over and over.

"Like hell I can go back to sleep" he muttered as he jumped off his bed and walked to the kitchen. The lure of food keeping him awake.

Six stared out at the dawn, watching from the window.

"Ehhhh, the sky is so pretty~" she said happily, she leapt down to the floor from where she had been sitting.

She raised her arms and stretched, stifling a yawn as 2 pairs of chains connecting to her legs clanked with every move. She stared at the the chains that wove themselves around her two legs and then stretched and connected itself to the wall, and glared.

"I'm hungry" she grumbled "and I can't go anywhere with these magic-sucking-chain-thingies-ugh"

She scowled. "OI! TEN ITS MORNING" she shouted out towards the top of the room she was in. Ten was likely on the roof, observing the sunrise as she had. True to her predictions, in less than a minute Ten appeared near the entrance of her small room.

He sighed as a single key appeared in his hand, and walked over to where Six sat expectantly on the small twin bed, her legs raised forward revealing the chains.

"Quickly, quickly!" she said impatiently. "I'm going to eat at that tasty cake store for breakfast~" she said with a look of delight and her eyes twinkling.

"You'll get cavities you know" he said, kneeling down and unlocking the locks on the shackles one by one.

She pouted "That's none of your business, besides, you wouldn't have to unlock these chains every morning if you'd just let me go without these" she shook the her right leg that hadn't been unlocked yet, making loud noises as the steel collided with the floor.

"Stop that" he grumbled "It's annoying, plus no can do-you know boss"

"What if I promise not to go on a rampage" she whined.

He sighed in annoyance once again. "Don't make promises you can't keep. We all know that's not true"

"B-But!-"

"We have to keep a low profile Six" he unlocked the final chain on her right leg. The chains fell down to the floor with a heavy 'thump' making a dent in the cement floor. "Once we're done with this place, get the prisoner to join, and boss gives you the signal-you can do whatever you want"

She smirked.

"I can kill whoever I want?" She said delightedly, her face lit up.

"Anybody"

She cheered, grinning, as Ten was happy to get her distracted from the idea of letting her loose during the night.

"Then~ I'll kill that pretty boy in her guild first!" she stopped and grimaced. "That's a waste of such a handsome face though!" she said, her eyebrows furrowed deep in thought. "Ah! Ten can I recruit memb-" she turned to face the spot Ten was.

Was.

Ten had disappeared. The door of her room swinging from his departure.

She pouted once more.

"Ten you meanie!"

The girl shifted in the dark, damp prison cell.

She tiredly rubbed her eyes and got on her knees.

She was so tired.

Exhausted.

How long had she been here?

How long had it been since she had seen her family, her friends.

And...him.

Her heart thudded at the thought of him, even though it had been laced with pure sorrow of not being able to see him again.

Perhaps...he had found a lover. Yes, he was clueless, yes, he was hopeless, but still...after all, he was now that age.

Even he had must've matured, at least a little bit.

She didn't know.

Was he still grieving over her?

Her heart painfully squeezed, her cheeks burned while tears threatened to fall.

Maybe...he hadn't.

Would he have forgotten everything they had been through-children or not, those were real memories she had cherished and loved.

The only thing that kept her alive.

Thoughts.

Memories.

And that thought.

The thought of him not having a lover yet.

And that one thought was enough to get her going.

For another day at least.

Everything was a game.

To them at least.

Infiltrate the guild.

Manipulate.

Betray.

Take the girl.

Crush.

And leave.

Happily ever after.

Until a new game started.

All they wanted was fun. Everything was boring.

How did they cure this boredom?

They didn't mind joining this cruel, sick, and twisted game.

As long as it was fun.

They didn't mind being the bad guys.

However.

SHE was not part of the game. How she had been discovered by the guild and had joined.

She was not supposed be a character in this game.

She was not supposed to join their team.

SHE-

She was unexpected.

But she made this game fun.

Infiltrate.

Manipulate.

Take the girl.

Betray.

Kill.

The rules of the game have now changed.

Lucy burst into the room the boys were occupying.

"I-Inori's missing!" She shouted in a panic.

Ikuto was the first to respond, he quickly shot up and before Lucy could blink, was out the door.

"I-Ikuto...?" she said to the wind from Ikuto's departure.

She sighed and turned around to see a messily sleeping Haru, with snores loud enough to wake a bear from hibernation. Her eye twitched.

"GET UP!"

Haru slowly shifted, grumbling.

"Don't I at least get breakfast" he mumbled out.

"No"

The sounds of birds chirping woke Inori up, she lay sprawled all over the rough ground of the forest.

She blinked.

"Ouch" she muttered, getting up, her legs were wobbly. "How the hell did I get here"

A cool breeze made her shiver as she unconsciously wrapped her arms around her torso. "Ikuto will be worried about m-" she stopped, eyes widening, her heart wildly thumping in her chest.

Red.

It was splattered on the trees surrounding her, trapping her inside. She felt claustrophobic, the sight was horrifying...yet... she couldn't bring herself to look the other way, to take her eyes of the goriness of the scene.

And...looking at this scene, it made her almost feel nostalgic.

She felt disgusted with herself.

But why...Why was this scene so familiar?

"A-Ahh" she cried out as she used her hand to muffle her mouth, bile rose in her throat and her head furiously pounded.

"Somebody" she stuttered out, she finally mustered enough strength to close her eyes. "Ikuto"

"INORI!"

Her eyes shot open and she was instantly greeted with the sight of Ikuto hovering above her, concern evident in his eyes.

"I-Ikuto" she whimpered out. "B-Blood everywhere" she said, her form a shivering mess. He knelt down next to her and shook her shoulders, forcing her to look in him in her eyes.

"Tell me everybody" he said, his tone was laced with urgency and concern.

And with a pitiful nod, she complied.

A/N: I'm really trying not to make this confusing but- so many people tell me how confusing the last few chapters and . tbh, thats how I kinda lost motivation to write ugh.

I'm sorry if its confusing, I promise it'll clear up in the end! And just a few answers:

No, this story is not going to be OC X Lucy, cause those are way too mainstream and I don't like them. The friendship between Haru and Lucy is purely friends.

I'm still having mixed feelings about Inori X Ikuto cause I have gotten several PM's about them being together (which I am still debating on)

Inori's name is pronounced 'Nori' but if you say it fast enough it sounds like "Inori" so I just included that.

Lastly, if anybody has any questions, feel free to PM!
