Maryanne had gone to the doctor and received medication for her postpartum depression. The Barones decided to stay in town to help her get better and become more comfortable as a mom to triplets. Amy's parents were staying with her and Robert to help them settle in and to spend time with their first grandchild.

"Sweetheart, remember, they can sense when you are in distress," Marie gently told her daughter.

"I know, but I don't know how to calm down."

"That's why I'm here."

"I need you to take her. I have to step out."

"Okay," Marie took her granddaughter so that her daughter could try and calm herself down. When Emma calmed down, Marie went to her daughter's room. Maryanne was in bed, crying, "you are doing great."

"No, I'm not."

"You are a wonderful mother. This time there's just more going on inside. You're not the first woman to deal with this and you won't be the last. It's going to take time and we're going to make sure that you make it through this."

"I'm so scared."

Marie moved to sit by her daughter and took her into her arms, "I know, sweetheart. We won't let this beat you. You have so many people fighting and praying for you. It's okay to break and cry because it's unhealthy to hold it all in. You're going to get better and be just fine. I'll make sure of it." Marie looked and found her daughter falling asleep. She waited until she was sure the woman was out before gently laying her down on the bed and tucking her in. Marie snuck out to allow her daughter all the rest she so desperately needed.

Two months later, Maryanne was finally settling in with the triplets. The Barones were going home the next day. That night they had a going away party at Robert and Amy's. Maryanne was in the kitchen with her mother, Debra, and Amy. Debra noticed her sister-in-law put her head down, close her eyes, and brace herself on the counter.

"Maryanne," Debra placed a hand on the woman's back, "Hey, are you alright?"

Marie turned when she heard Debra, "what's wrong?" she asked as she rushed to her daughter. Amy followed her mother-in-law.

Maryanne looked up and noticed the concerned looks on their faces. "Sorry, I think I'm coming down with something. I'm fine," she could tell they didn't believe her, "really."

"Why don't you sit down?" Marie suggested. Amy brought a stool over for her sister-in-law. Maryanne sat on the stool and everyone went back to what they were doing.

"Hey, Deb, I'm going to go to the bathroom," Maryanne said.

"You okay?" Debra whispered.

"Yeah," Maryanne said before getting off the stool. She collapsed in less time than it took for her to stand.

"Maryanne!" Debra yelled and knelt by her sister-in-law.

"Oh my God!" Marie yelled as Amy ran to get help.

When Maryanne came to, it was decided that Debra and Ray would take her to the hospital. Amy was still nursing and Marie decided it was best for her to stay at the house to help with all of the children. Maryanne fell asleep awaiting the results of her tests. The doctor walked in, looking down at his clipboard, "we have your results, Mrs. Thorpe." He looked up to find the woman asleep, "sorry, just hit the call button when she wakes up and a nurse will be in." He started to walk away but Ray and Debra stopped him.

"Wait," Ray said, "you can't leave us hanging. She said we could be told stuff, so tell."

"Mrs. Thorpe is pregnant."

Ray and Debra stood there in shock with their mouths open. Debra broke the silence, "you know, I think it would be best if we told her."

The doctor left and Ray turned to face his wife, "what the hell?"

"This is not good."

"What the hell?"

"What are you gonna say when you tell her?"

"I don't know. I guess...wait a minute. Why do I have to tell her?"

"You're her brother."

"You're her sister-in-law and one of her best friends. That's two to one."

"You're both so damn loud," Maryanne said as she woke up.

Debra walked over and sat next to Maryanne, "sorry," both Ray and Debra said.

"Did the doctor come back?"

"Yeah," Debra said, "I had stepped out to call and check on the kids, but Ray was here," Debra turned to her husband, "go ahead, Ray."

"You suck," Ray said. He ran a hand through his hair, "listen," he paused, "just know that no matter what, we love you and are all here for you."

"No," Maryanne said when she began to suspect what he was going to tell her.

"Yeah, you're pregnant."

"Ah!" Maryanne groaned as she closed her eyes.

Just then the doctor returned, "Mrs. Thorpe, did they tell you about your results?"

"Yes," Maryanne groaned.

"I didn't have a chance to go over this with your brother and sister-in-law, but your hormone levels indicate that you may have more than one baby on the way."

"You take that back!" she snapped.

"She has six-month-old triplets at home," Debra explained.

"I'll, um, send the nurse in with your discharge papers," the doctor said before retreating.

Maryanne called Richard on the way home and the man apologized for getting her pregnant again. He just felt that he should be sorry. Richard told the family and asked them to let her rest and let everything sink in. The next day, the Barones returned to New York, but wouldn't be home long before they were once again needed by the Thorpes.
