"Richard!" Maryanne yelled from the living room.

Richard ran in and found his wife standing, bent over, one hand on her head, the other helping her to brace herself on the couch, and her eyes closed. Richard helped his wife sit down. "Are you alright?"

"I think so," Maryanne had been having multiple bad dizzy spells every day this time around.

"Do you need anything?"

"No," Maryanne said, "you can go back to what you were doing."

"Okay, but take it easy."

Justin came over for dinner and had to hold onto his mother while they walked to the dining room. Later that night Maryanne was in the nursery, "Richard!" The man once again ran into the room, "take Eily, hurry." Richard took his daughter and placed her in her crib. Maryanne had her elbows on her knees and her head in her hands. "Thank you," she whispered, "I thought I was going to drop her."

"Here, I'll help you to bed. Go slowly," Richard helped his wife stand before helping her to bed.

"We may need to call my mother. I hate to ask her to fly back out here again already."

"I feel like she won't mind at all. If you want, we can wait and see what your doctor says? I can take time off in the meantime."

"You don't have to, but whatever you want to do."

The next day, Maryanne called her mother when she almost passed out while sitting in bed.

"Sweetheart, it's so good to hear from you," Marie said when she answered the phone, "how are you? How are the children and Richard?"

"The children and Richard are all fine."

"What about you?" Marie asked less upbeat.

"Well, I'm really sick this time around. I don't know why either. Yesterday I had to call for Richard because I got dizzy and couldn't stand or sit back down. Then I had to call for him while I was rocking Eily last night because I was dizzy and afraid I'd drop her. Before I called you, I got dizzy when I sat up in bed."

"Are you in bed now?"

"Yeah, I can't get up. I feel terrible because I can't really help Richard."

"Sweetheart, I feel like you want to ask me something. You can ask me anything."

"I know, but I feel guilty since you just got back home."

"Don't," Marie said.

"Mom," Maryanne began to cry, "can you come back and help?"

"We'll be there as soon as possible."

"Thank you," Maryanne said.

"You don't have to thank me. I'm your mother. I love you."

"I love you too."

The following day, Frank and Marie arrived to help the Thorpes. Ray and Debra couldn't come because the kids were in school, but said they could when the children went on break. Richard went to work after Frank and Marie arrived. Maryanne had an appointment later that afternoon and Marie promised to help her daughter get ready.

Maryanne was coming down the stairs when she suddenly became dizzy. She braced herself on the railing and waited for the spell to pass.

"Maryanne," Marie walked towards her daughter, "are you alright?"

"Just a bit dizzy," Maryanne said.

"Do you feel like you're going to pass out?"

"No," the spell started to pass, "I'm good now."

"Here," Marie held out her hand for her daughter to take. Maryanne didn't know why, but she was still getting dizzy five months in. "How about you go outside for a little bit and get some sun?"

"Okay," Maryanne started to walk towards the back door.

Marie went to grab the baby monitor before joining her daughter. She found Maryanne standing outside and staring at a lounge chair. "Do you need a hand?"

Maryanne looked at her mother and smiled, "Yeah, I really can't maneuver this thing," she said placing her hands on her bump. Marie walked over to help Maryanne settle on the chair before going to sit on the other.

"How are you feeling about all of this? I know you were a bit panicked at first."

Maryanne rubbed her hands on her belly, "I was and still am a little. I'm just concerned about hemorrhaging again or having a breakdown."

"Well, the doctor has all of that information on file. I'm not saying you won't hemorrhage or have to deal with postpartum depression, but the staff will be more informed and hopefully, you can give birth in a hospital this time." Marie and Maryanne both laughed at the comment.

Later that afternoon, Richard arrived home for his wife's doctor appointment. "Maryanne!" Richard called when he walked into the house.

"Coming," Maryanne said as her mother helped her down the stairs.

"Let me know what the doctor says," Marie said as Maryanne and Richard left.

At the doctor's office, Maryanne was told her blood pressure was low for the second time.

"That is probably why you are always so dizzy," the doctor said.

"Is there anything I can do about it?" Maryanne was desperate to make it go away.

"Try resting and drinking a lot of fluids."

"That's it?"

"It will probably go back to normal in your third trimester."
