hello there! I updated closer to on time this time! well hope you like this chapter of Star drippings!

Adrian could not believe his eyes, for all his acting, he still loved his family. He didn't know what to do. Should he call the police? Had maisly really killed his siblings? She didn't seem like the sort of person who would do something that inhuman, but how could she not have; with all the evidence pointing against her?

Adrian's hands shook as he reached for the knife that Maisly had dropped.

Adrian scanned at his father's favorite steak knife. He'd seen it covered in blood before, just never human blood. He turned it over in his hands slowly, fingering the blood there. His fingers left streaks where he'd touched the knife. He felt nauseous, this was his little sister's and his twin brothers blood. A sharp sting told him that he'd cut his finger, making his own blood mingle with his siblings. Adrian raised his finger up to his mouth absentmindedly to lick the blood off. As soon as he touched his finger to his tongue, he gagged at the realization that he just ingested his dead little sister's blood.

Adrian now turned his attention back towards Maisly, who was having what looked like a miniature panic-attack. "Come on. Let's go."

"Where are we going?" Maisly asked nervously from her spot on the floor.

"Upstairs," Adrian stated vaguely. With that Adrian stalked up the stairs, not bothering to make sure that Maisly was following. Of course he knew that she would, as she was obviously not stable enough to be left alone down there.

Once they were upstairs, Adrian directed Maisly towards the kitchen table. Then he got out a piece of paper towel and soaked up the blood on his finger.

Maisly's eyes were frantically darting around the room. It made him uneasy.

Charlie's head really hurt. A lot.

Actually his whole body felt like it was on fire.

Was he dead? He must be dead. But how did he die? Why couldn't he remember?

A nearby wimper drew his attention from himself. He rolled over onto his back, even though every nerve in his body protested with shards of herculean agony. His eyes must have betrayed him! Elise couldn't be dead too! Why didn't he protect her better? He must be the worst big brother in the world. He raised himself up to a sitting position. Evidently ignoring the logic of staying still in case he had injured his what would it matter if he was already dead?

Elise needed his reassurance, now more than ever. Maybe he wasn't the big brother he should have been when they were alive, but that didn't mean that he had to be a craptastic person now.

Elise whimpered again and Charlie scooted over to her in the pale yellow grassy field they were laying in. He sat at her head. her long brown hair was stuck to her eyelashes and face, so Charlie brushed it back and tucked it behind her ears. At this slight touch Elise whimpered again, and sat up. "Where are we?"

"I don't know. It looks like we're in a field of some sort,"Charlie was about to suggest that they get up and explore when without any warning, shouts resounded through the air. There was shouting, whooping and cheering so loud that Charlie was sure that Elises ear drums must have popped. Charlie stood up and nudged his younger sister behind him. Two people were running at them with alarming speed.

Adrian sat down at the kitchen table across from Maisly and clasped the paper towel to his right hand. Maisly looked fragile to put it mildly, but Adrian needed to know what had happened. He needed answers from her even if he couldn't believe a word out of her mouth.

As Maisly recounted all that had happened, Adrian felt the color slowly draining from his face. When she told him about the 'earthquake' he got really skeptical because there was no earthquake. He might not be as attentive as his beloved twin brother, but there was no way that Adrian could miss something as big as a freaking earthquake! What ever had really happened down there must have broke Maisly. Earthquakes don't just happen to one person, do they? Adrian was no seismologist, but he was pretty sure that earthquakes didn't do that. She also told him about how the mahogany bookshelves in the living room had tossed all of their contents onto the floor. The thing was that the bookshelves in the living room were just as stocked as always, and apart from some mugs on the coffee table, the house was spotless.

Charlie braced himself for a fight to protect his younger sister. The figures however slowed down as they reached Charlie and Elise and put up their hands in a show of surrender. "We were wondering what took you so long to get here!" the female said. The female was tall and lean, she had long blonde hair that was limp and lifeless. The male had broad shoulders and short black hair. Both of them had cold black eyes. Almost like their irises were swallowed in an unending pit of corrupt ebony. "Didn't your training help you control the effects at all?" the woman's face was exasperated to say the least.

Charlie's shoulders relaxed a bit, and his fierce expression was replaced with one of confusion. "What do you mean training?"

The beast of a man grunted and nudged the wiry immediately smoothed over her face. 'What was that about?' Charlie wondered. But the incident was over in a heartbeat and Charlie's attention was pulled away from it. "Doesn't matter!" the woman decreed abruptly, "we've been awaiting your arrival! Come along with us both of you!" The brawny man put his hand on Elise's bicep. And since the man was literally twice Charlie's size, and Charlie was a muscular person himself, Charlie deducted that for safety's sake; they'd do what they were told.

After a while of walking Elise stumbled on a rock, and the brawny man yanked her back upright. This Charlie couldn't stomach, so he pulled Elise out of his grasp and said "careful with her," the man glared at him, "Please."

The man grunted and faced forward once again. They walked and walked for what felt like hours, but finally, they approached a large medieval-looking castle. It was complete with guards and gates and banners. It stole Charlie's breath from his lungs. It towered into the sky. They were led through the gate, and down a spiraling staircase. The smell was putrid, a tell tale sign of where they were headed.
