"Narberal-nee, I'm in need of your assistance."
The monotonous voice of CZ2128 Delta also known as Shizu echoed into the room.
"Shouldn't you be going towards Ainz-sama's office by now?"
Asked the Doppelganger.
"Yes, I was about to start today's mission as personal maid for Ainz-sama, but I have a question, I want to be sure since it is Ainz-sama I'm going to serve today."
The Automaton explained, her older sister nodded signalling for her to continue.
"I spent the last days researching in the library how to best serve the Supreme One, there were some volumes on that written directly by the Supreme Beings, but, no matter what, I didn't understand something… at which point of the day should I remove my clothes?"
The emotionless girl asked, the Doppelganger seemed to not understand for few seconds before a light blush appeared on her face.
"W-What are you talking about? There shouldn't be a moment like that during the day!"
She protested.
"It is written into Peroroncino-sama's book 'Guide to the Perfect Maid', I stored it all in my cache memory for today 'the perfect maid should know her master's desires without the need for him to state them, they should know when to remove all their clothes slowly but without taking too long, all masters adore to see their maids naked and waiting for them to use their bodies, they should know when to bend over-'"
Shizu voice was interrupted when Narberal's hands covered the Automaton's mouth, the Doppelganger's blush was so intense that Shizu doubted there was enough blood for all her body parts at the moment.
"A-Are you sure about this? P-Peroroncino-sama wrote it? I didn't know about any of this! Should have I done it yesterday?"
Seeing as her sister was beginning to mumble to herself Shizu decided to leave the room since her older sister didn't have the answer she looked for 'it would be bad to be late, I will have to use my mood reading CPU at maximum power to understand when the right moment comes'.
She reached Ainz's office in few minutes and then waited for him to arrive before properly greeting him and entering; Ainz immediately sat behind his desk and began to work.
She stood there as any proper maid should, she didn't wear a short skirt so she couldn't apply many of the things in Peroroncino's book but her Lord didn't seem to mind.
Around two hours later her Lord stopped working and turned toward her.
"Shizu, I want to ask you something, how do you feel about your sisters after all the events of the last weeks?"
The deep voice of the overlord asked her, Shizu's emotional CPU began to work in search of an answer 'PROCESSING QUERY: QUESTION RECEIVED, CHECKING RELATED DATA: DATA FOUND, ELABORATION: 50%... 100%, ELABORATION COMPLETED WITH SUCCEESS: OUTPUT ANSWER READY' the voice in her head said, the whole process lasted less than a second but she heard every part of it as usual.
"I love all of them no matter what, they are my sisters."
She said in her usual monotonous tone but with a little hint of something she herself couldn't understand mixed in it.
"I see, I'm happy to see your bonds are as strong as they should be, even after I made you battle each other, for that I must apologize."
Said her Lord while bowing his head 'ERROR: UNRECOGNIZED ACTION, ELABORATION, ELABORATION CONCLUDED: SUBMISSIVE ACT, PANICO MODE: ON, PANIC MODE: OFF, ANSWER REQUIRED, ELABORATION, ELABORATION CONCLUDED: SUBMISSIION REFUSED' after what seemed a moment she knew what to do, she knelt in front of her bowing Lord, this way she was even lower than him.
"We are the creations of the Supreme Beings, we will always obey no matter the orders, we live to serve because there is no greater way to live our lives than this, apologizes are not required, I beg my Lord to stop such troubling actions."
After she said that Ainz rose his head, she couldn't read his expression since he had no flesh or muscles to read in the first place.
"I understand your point but as your superior I still have to take responsibility for what happened."
He explained, Shizu's creator gave her basic knowledge about military hierarchy, and she knew that Ainz-sama's words were right so she said nothing as was proper from a subordinate in her position.
While she remained silent Ainz tried to find a way to make her say what she desired as a reward, with the other it was easier but she was an Automaton, he couldn't play the emotional card here; in that moment a memory of his past came back to him, working as a salesman forced you to get good at forcing people to listen to what you had to say, one good way to do so was by using jokes, but would those work on an Automaton, it was still worth to try.
"Garnet-san gave you a fine poker face, it makes it harder to read your expression and your thoughts as well, an invaluable advantage in combat, I as well use such a tactic when it is needed, well not that most people would look at my face while we are battling, they would get chilled to the bone otherwise."
In that moment Ainz remembered why Satoru Suzuki never became good at selling, his jokes were the worst someone could came up with, he almost felt the need to cover himself in shame.
Shizu didn't say anything as she analysed the situation 'STATEMENT RECEIVED, ANALYSING, ANALYSIS COMPLETED: COMPLIMENT, FURTHER INSPECTION, RESULT: JOKE, REQUIRED OUTPUT: LAUGH, SITUATION ANALYSIS, ANALYSIS COMPLETED: RESULT INVALID FOR SITUATION, RESERCHING ALTERNATIVE RESULT, ALTERNATIVE RESULT: SMILE, COMPATIBILITY WITH SITUATION, COMPATIBILITY CONFIRMED' as Shizu's CPU reached its result the angle of Shizu's mouth curved upward, a little smile appeared on her face.
'Wow, I think… I think I never saw Shizu smile before… that's sad….' Said Ainz in his head 'should I use a more direct approach on this?... that could actually be good… but what to do? They all seem very attached to the others, like children to their parents…' Ainz was pushing his brain to his maximum, not that it helped him much, then an idea hit him like a truck.
"Shizu, I would like to go somewhere with you."
He finally said after a minute of silence 'COMMAND RECOGNIZED: FOLLOW' Shizu immediately prepared to follow her lord as any dutiful maid should.
They walked through the corridors of the 9th floor for about ten minutes before reaching a specific corridor, Shizu of course knew what this place was, 20 doors on each side of the corridor and one at the end, 41 in total.
This was probably the most sacred place, many in Nazarick thought it was even above the Treasury in importance, these where the personal chambers of the 41 Supreme Beings, no one was allowed inside, only the maids could enter to make sure the rooms remained clean but they were not allowed to touch anything in there.
They walked through the corridor until they reached the 14th door on the left, she knew this door, she stood before it many times even if she didn't dare to enter without permission, this was her creator's, Garnet, room.
The skeleton Overlord opened the door and went inside, Shizu noticed immediately the difference in his pace, now her Lord was very cautious of all his steps as if he was walking on thin ice.
Shizu followed him, her mechanical body tensed, this was rare, the only other time she experienced a similar feeling was when she heard about Entoma's battle in the Kingdom, but even then what she experienced was a cold feeling of stiffness, this was different, it was warmer and kinder… she didn't know if the words to describe that sensation even existed.
Her creator's room was as grand as she as expected, many weapons were placed on the walls and many objects decorated all the shelves, there were even mannequins wearing particular outfits similar to the Guardian of the Treasury's one.
Were her creator's and Ainz-sama's sense of fashion similar? She asked herself.
"What do you think Shizu? Garnet spent years gathering all this stuff."
Ainz words brought the maid back to reality, how much time did she spend admiring her creator's room? 'PROCESSING QUERY: QUESTION RECEIVED, CHECKING RELATED DATA: DATA FOUND, ELABORATION, ELABORATION CONCLUDED WITH SUCCEESS, OUTPUT ANSWER READY'.
"It is an outstanding view My Lord, but I'm confused, my Creator said I should like cute things, but my Creator doesn't seem to like cute things, is my definition of cuteness wrong?"
She asked in the usual flat tone but inside she felt uneasy, if she was wrong all this time it would be her greatest failures; Ainz thought for a moment before approaching her and gently patting her head.
"Garnet-san was very happy when he made you, he said that you were so cute he didn't need anymore cuteness in his life, you were all he needed; cuteness is something subjective, your definition could be different from mine, it is not a problem and I'm sure Garnet-san is very proud of you right now."
His words stunned her 'cute? Me?' she was about to elaborate further when her CPU sent her a warning message 'UNRECOGNIZED OVERHEATING OF THE CENTRAL CPU DETECTED, PLEASE WAIT FOR SCANNING, DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY ACTION WHILE SCANNING' that never happened before, now she had to try and continue by herself.
"Does Ainz-sama think I am cute?"
She asked, she herself didn't know what the purpose of that question was, but for some reason she wanted to know it.
"ah… uhm… well… yes, I think you are cute, you were made by Garnet-san and to be fair he asked for my opinions on some parts of you so I may have had a little influence on your creation."
Ainz admitted trying to justify his answer more to himself than Shizu, 'ATTENTION! OVERHEATING TEMPERATURE INCREASED! SCANNING RESULT: IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND OVERHEATING SOURCE! FORCED SHUTDOWN ADVICED!' indeed Shizu now could feel the warmth her CPU spoke about, but at the same time she couldn't shutdown and lose this opportunity, she was receiving important information about herself, she had no idea Ainz-sama had been part of her creation, even if just a little, she felt very proud of it.
Ainz on the other side was trying to avoid this conversation, his eyes scanned the room in search of something to change the subject, and miraculously he found something; he quickly moved toward a shelve and took a photo from it.
"Shizu come, look at this."
The maid obeyed him and approached, she looked at the photo, she saw various Supreme Beings in the image standing over a dead dragon, her creator stood in the centre of the photo.
"This was taken years ago when we defeated the Evil Dragon King Karaum, in that occasion it was your creator who delivered the killing blow and every time we fought such beings we decided that the one to deliver the last blow would be the one standing at the centre when we took the photo."
He explained, Shizu looked in fascination at the image, for her this image was worth more than the entire world, few in Nazarick had the pleasure of seeing even an image of their creators nowadays.
"I would like you to take this, this is a reward for all your hard work."
He said, she felt her engines going faster and faster as she accepted the photo in her hands before putting it in her inventory, she would treasure it and protect it until her death.
"It would be better if toady events remained between us two, are you okay with this?"
Her Lord asked.
"Affirmative, this recording his only accessible by Ainz-sama himself."
She said, in that moment something caught Ainz's eyes, a uniform he recognized laid on the bed, he approached it 'isn't this a WW I german uniform? Waaaaah Garnet-san! I farmed a lot for it and never got it! You had it and never said anything!'.
Meanwhile Shizu looked at him in puzzlement, why was Ainz-sama looking at her Creator's bed? She would normally use her CPU but now she was unable to do so due to the overheating 'is this the right time? Yes, Ainz-sama is looking at the bed, he is expecting me to make the first move'.
She clearly remembered the words in Peroroncino's book, she began to remove her clothes placing them on a chair, for some reason being naked in her creator's room with her Lord felt just right.
'ATTENTION! OVERHEATING TEMPERATORE IS ENCREASING! CRITICAL LEVEL REACHED! SHUTDOWN REQUIRED!' she ignored her CPU and continued to remove her clothes, once she was done she looked at herself in the mirror, her face was red, probably due to the overheating she deduced, she silently approached Ainz, she quickly got on the bed and used Peroroncino's book's 14th pose.
As soon as Shizu got on the bed Ainz' mind came back to reality 'WHY IS SHE NAKED! WHAT IS THAT POSE! DON'T TELL ME… GARNET-SAN! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!' fortunately his outburst was calmed down quickly by his [Emotional Suppression].
"S-Shizu, what are you doing?"
He asked in the most dignified tone he could master.
"This is what I read in Peroroncino-sama's book, it was about how a maid should behave, I'm following the instructions."
While this was true, she couldn't deny that there also was another reason, she couldn't put it into words but she felt like she wanted to be like this with her Lord, a personal desire to be with him forever, but she couldn't understand it herself, Ainz-sama was not cute, that was a fact, but she still wanted to be with him 'is this what Albedo-sama and Shalltear-sama spoke about… do I find Ainz-sama… beautiful?' she wondered.
In the meantime only one thought was going through Ainz' mind 'I WILL FUCKING MURDER YOU PERORONCINO!' he could almost hear his friend's laugh in the back of his mind.
