Austria:
1791
Roderich Edelstein hadn't given the young Ludwig nor his guardian Gilbert Beilschmidt any choice; they were coming with him to see the first performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera The Magic Flute, and that was the end of that.
However, Roderich might as well have been alone for all the attention he gave anything not the opera. Completely enraptured and enchanted sat he and felt his spirit soar with every note.
Germany:
1791
Ludwig was new to life, at least of what he could remember, but he already knew two things: he didn't mind operas, and the tension between Roderich and Gilbert would always put him in the middle.
Prussia:
1791
Gilbert spent the first ten minutes cursing (first loudly, then after being hushed for the 100th time, silently) the "stuck-up aristocrat who had forced him here". Maybe there was something good about whatever-this-opera-was-called, but it was so boring!
He'd rather display his awesomeness by defeating Roderich with his awesome sword-play.
Romania:
1791
Like an elegant thief in the night, Irina Vlad had snuck in the Theater auf der Wieden, to watch the first ever performance of The Magic Flute. This new opera, or Singspiel (depending on how you define it), by herr Mozart, was bound to possess the same genius as all his works.
She was right about that, but even she couldn't have predicted how moved she would be by every step the dancers took.
Author's notes:
I'm not 100% sure about chronology in the world of Hetalia regarding the growth of Nation Characters, but I picture Germany as a young boy in 1791, barely having become (became?) Germany.
I don't own Hetalia
