Though Alfred loved the industrialism of his country, and every new invention that improved the daily life of his people, he never forgot where he came from.

Not just the fight for independence against Britain, or the wheat fields where Arthur had first met him.

No, even further back. To the wilderness that had been his first home. That wilderness had sheltered him and given him food and water. True, it was unlikely that he'd have died without any sustenance, being a Nation and everything, but it wouldn't have been the same.

So, it wasn't enough to just make Yellowstone a national park; more places had to become delegated such as well. He'd always felt that way, ever since the first notion of a national park had crossed his desk.

However, Yellowstone had been the only one accepted as such.

Still, 18 yrs later, he'd managed to designate Yosemite as a national park too.

Stubborness paid off.
