Alfred could feel it in his bones; his people were divided. It wasn't as bad as it had been under the Civil War, but it was still bad. Still a divide. And it was breaking his heart that all his people, every single U.S. citizen, couldn't be happy about Thurgood Marshall being sworn in as the first non-white justice of the United States Supreme Court.

The US of A was for everyone, every kind of people! Not just the people that were white!
