That he would have to apologize to the Faeries was the first thought that crossed Arthur Kirkland's mind as he saw through Lassell's telescope.

They had interrupted his gardening to drag him all the way across town, and he had cursed them for doing so. True, he did not normally curse his friends, but he had been gardening at his private spot in Her Majesty's gardens with some new plants from the Colonies and had really not appreciated the interruption.

Now, however, he could see why it had been so important for him to come here.

They had known, as only they could, that Lassell would, today, make the discovery of the hitherto new celestial object; that of moon of Neptune. And that, only 17 days after the discovery of Neptune itself.

The moon in question, Triton, wasn't named so before several decades later. Therefore, it's name isn't featured in this story.
