This whole year had been a crazy experience Alfred F. Jones, the Personification of the Nation of the United States of America, could've done without. Though he hadn't been alive during the Black Plague-years, he could imagine that it'd been a little like this.
Just without the orange leader.
The most depressing part, and the most boring one, was all the paperwork Alfred was now stuck with. And he couldn't even pass it off on someone else, as they were either sick, dealing with preparations for presidential campaign, staying home under the suspicion that they might be sick, or just plain ignoring him. Which meant he would've to deal with mountains of paperwork all on his own.
Seconds before Alfred faceplanted on to said paperwork, a chocolate miraculously appeared on his desk.
He looked up, but saw no one. Shrugging, he popped it in his mouth.
For the rest of the days, chocolates would appear whenever he needed it, though he never saw who dropped it.
Really, they just appeared out of thin air. Like magic.
Author's notes:
Naturally, it's Arthur who's giving Alfred chocolate. And he's not showing himself, because he knows that Alfred will force/trick him into doing the paperwork for him.
