Hello, everyone !
This is obviously not an update or at least not a story one. If you follow me on tumblr you won't be surprised as I have been talking about it for a couple of weeks.
I have a bit of an announcement! I have been doing a lot of thinking over this last month and I think with the New Year, it's a good time to start new projects and close old ones.
Which is why I am going to mark this collection as complete and it won't be updated again.
But fear not! I am as we speak (or rather right after I posted this) going to open another collection that will be called Have a Drink, Sweetheart 2 (I know such an original name but isn't it a brand at this point? Do I want to confuse people with a new one? Yeah, you got me, I'm lazy and I just don't want to brainstorm a new title XD) and that will have the exact same purpose as this one. I will publish prompts and occasional one shots in it.
You're going to ask me why, I know, because you already follow this story and it's easy and all. Well, several reasons:
First, this collection is too long, it has too many chapters. It's starting to make me feel very self-conscious about my obsession for hayffie and it also makes ff behave very weirdly since, I am pretty sure, stories on this site aren't supposed to be over a certain numbers of chapters XD I had several people telling me reviews don't work correctly, I have myself experienced technical difficulties while posting and links tend to arrive in double or not at all so… Yes.
Second, I feel a need for a change to be honest.
Third, I also plan on going easy on submitted prompts, at least for a while. I have such a stock to publish you shouldn't really feel the difference but I kind of want to write what the muse wants for a while and I have a bad habit of stressing if I don't have prompts ready etc. Lately, I have been writing random stuff, a little like for the hayffie advent calendar if you were reading those, hopefully you will still enjoy those. That doesn't mean I'm closing prompts. You're welcome to leave one through reviews or tumblr at ellanainthetardis but that does mean there is no guarantee I will take it up (yeah, I know the speed of prompt writing was already counted in months or years so that won't be a big change XD)
Fourth reason: I sort of want to start on a clean slate because I want to try and cross-post on AO3 as well, that site is easier to maneuver around, to be honest, and I know a lot of readers like it better so if that's your jam, my penname over there is EllanaSan, it's linked on my tumblr and you can subscribe to the story collection just as easily if you would rather do that there. Plus, when people ask me to link a particular story I have a feeling it will be a lot easier to actually find stuff. And I can actually answer comments there. It's easy on tumblr, it's easy on ao3 but ff really doesn't make it easy at all and that frustrates me not to be able to exchange with you when you leave so lovely reviews but the time it would take me through this site is time I do not have unfortunately. That's also something that has been frustrating me for a while, the inability to be able to communicate more easily with readers.
So, yes, in short, nothing will change except the location where you can read your updates so pleasego find the new collection on my profile and you can follow it if you still want to be alerted of new updates. I have a cracky New Year one-shot to tempt you over ;)
For those who won't switch rides with us, either because it's been so long they're not into hayffie anymore or just because it's too much of a hassle, I want to thank you so much for this journey that started in 2014. Wow. Don't I feel old now. It's been 6 years of absolute pleasure sharing and exchanging with you.
Hopefully it will be a few years more ;)
