England:

1907

-How do I look? Edward VII anxiously asked the most important person in the United Kingdom, besides himself.

-You look dandy, Arthur Kirkland, England, answered his King soothingly. It always amused Arthur how practically every King and Queen would ask him that question at one point or another.

-Do you know what I'll recieve for my birthday?

-You will just have to wait and see.

-Can you believe the present I got from the Transvaal Company? A diamond! It's a rather nice diamond, but it needs cutting. I'll send it to Amsterdam the first thing, to Joseph Asscher & Co.

Edward VII was so excited that he didn't notice that Arthur hadn't said a single word. He couldn't; it was impossible for him to get one in with all the rambling of his King.
