It wasn't going as well as they thought it would, but the good thing Hadrian and Healer Paeon found out the curse were of Black Magic. Once they could get Sirius out of Mongo's and to their hospital back home they can isolate the curse then give him the cure though no matter what he will be left with a scar where the curse hit. Which, in this case, was his neck.
"I said what the hell is going on?"
Ah, well now back to the present, Hadrian looked up to his brother again. Healer Paeon called him over just as his brother came to the room. He knew that Linfred, from the sound of his voice, was worried and afraid. Hadrian though was not too sure what to do. The last time he saw his brother was when he was six years old. "Hi Lin, it's been awhile since I last saw you. You're fourteen right?"
Still trying to figure everything out it seemed Lin only nodded. "Who are you?"
Hadrian ducked his head looking to his father for some guidance. At seeing the look, his father nodded and came up to the pair. "Hello Linfed, it has been indeed a long time since I last saw you. You have grown up into quite the young man" Hadrian had to hide a smirk as Linfred actually blushed at that, his father always had a way with words. "Tell me do you attend Hogwarts like your parents?"
"A... Ya I am a Gryffindor like both my parents" at that comment he puffed out his chest in pride, "I will be a fourth year this year."
"Exciting! Well, we are planning to take Sirius with us since Hadrian here is his godson and heir. We will keep you updated on his care."
His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "I am his godson and heir as well as to the Potters. Why should I let you leave?"
Hadrian growled at the comment and showed him his rings that he had since he was seven, "Look younger brother, I am not in the mood to have this on my birthday no less, we are taking my godfather to heal him who your healers here can't do. I wish we didn't have to see each other this way after so long."
Lin stood at the door looking between Hadrian and his father, then did the only thing Hadrain wished he didn't do. "I'm going to tell my dad." And with that he ran out of the room.
It then gave them enough time to get Sirius stable for transport and the papers signed, leaving all within five minutes. When the Potters returned they were only left with a letter from the doctor.
Dear Potters,
It has been many years since I have heard from you all. I hope the years have been as good to you as they have for me. Lin, congratulations on going into your fourth year at Hogwarts. I can say that I don't miss you as much anymore when the letters stopped and you never came. But as they say, the past is in the past.
With the coming year I find myself going to Hogwarts this year for the tournament. My father has asked me to do the protection on the cup being the top student. Well and being a part of the royal family I also have to make an appearance. Otherwise, I am signed up for the dueling competition which again my teachers have given me no chance.
What you may not know yet for this school year, there is one of our professors coming to teach your students. He is one of my professors as well. He will be wonderful in helping in getting the class of DADA up to date.
As of now I don't have anything else I am able to share, well I am working on my masters in ten subjects. The plan was to graduate from the school this coming spring but with the Tournament my father agreed upon, I am looking at the fall next year. In all honesty it doesn't matter to me since I have yet to find what I'd like to do.
For today I was waiting for Sirius at the gate, he always comes on the week of my birthday. And well he didn't show, I feared the worst, which only came true. He got hurt and was in the hospital, but it wasn't only that. You have been misinformed Lin about the heirships. I have had them since I was seven and now there is no going back. I would suggest you ask the goblins about the Potter family charter. Quite fascinating. Anyway, Sirius has been transported to the hospital here closer to me, and we have already found out the curse.
I will keep you all updated on his recovery. He will most likely arrive with me in October with the other visitors.
I wish you all the best, don't worry he is in the best hands.
Your son in only blood,
Hadrian Charlus Potter Anaxagoras heir-apparent
A week, it was all that took for them to find the cure. While under supervision Hadrian was in the middle of making the cure for the black curse Sirius was hit with. The cure was in an old family recipe, but consequently a Greek one, with an intricate potion for the cure. Professor Dickens was overlooking Hadrian's work, being close to getting his mastery Hadrian saw that this was the way to help his godfather. This was the deal they made.
"Looking good, the old translation mentions a slow turn after you add the-"
"Nightshade, I turn three times...Slowly."
"Yes correct, after that is done let it rest for…"
"2,190 minuets."
"Cheeky Brat." Professor Dickens muttered to the math genius, "in a normal turn?"
"36 in a half-hour, professor or 131,400 seconds"
"And I want you to count all those seconds," his professor sarcastically said, earning a laugh from Hadrian.
Hadrian made his way from the potion labs to Sirius's room, which was made when he visited every year. The healer was positioned into the room right across from his room in case anything occurred. He knew he couldn't stay too long today since his sister was due to return home today.
There was a lot to tell her but after he heard all her never ending stories about everything he's missed while she was away. And the Minister and most of the main leaders of the various schools and representatives were coming. They were just too scared of his father backing out, at least that was Hadrian's point of view. "Hey Padfoot, hope you're doing okay today. The cure is about ready in...77,400 seconds. You'll be up and about in no time." He then spent what little time he had in filling the book he and Sirius set up eight years ago. Each of them would write about their day or week and the other notebook would instantly fill up to read the next day. So they shared all that had happened. That is what he did till a nock on the door interrupted him.
It was his father, "hey son, how is Sirius doing?"
"Same old, the cure will be ready in...72,ooo seconds-" Hadrian stopped short at the look of annoyance on his dad's face "20 hours left till it is finished dad," he fixed with a laugh.
"You are filling your book I see."
Nodding, Hadrian set the book on the table next to the chairs. "Yes I have been neglecting for a couple of weeks before all of this; I don't want to miss anything anymore."
"That is very smart indeed, come on you don't want to miss your sister's return home."
"Who wants to miss the flower return home?" Hadrian joked with his father as they made their way out of the room. "I am also here to remind you of the weekly update to the Potters."
"Right I forgot since I've been working on the Cure all day. I just really don't want to work with a Black Curse again."
"I have to agree with you on that, it was annoying to learn." Hadrian agreed full heartedly with him. While Dark magic was a force of emotion, Black magic was a force of Ill Intent. They wanted to hurt someone to the point of pain. They were so close together with some of them. Others they were one's use for aiming to kill in a heartbeat, no regret, no emotions at all to cast the curses.
"Κόραξ!" An excited shouting bundle of joy known as Roseamond, or just Rose, bounded over to her older brother who she always calls him Raven, who gets it from her mom.
"Hey ρόδο!" Hadrian breathed out as they both fell into a bone breaking hug. "How was your retreat?"
"It was sooo goood and Fuuuunn!" She screamed as the two made their way to the back patio for lunch, as their connected arms swung back and forth. It took that one question and the young seven year old was telling story after story of her trip. In Deipnias, the young ones who live in the village put together a trip for all seven year old's. It is a secret to those who didn't grow up a part of the culture. But being the adopted son of the leader has its advantages.
Her month long trip was summarized in one hour and she was not tired at all. She was ready for a fly, on the brooms. Hadrian couldn't say no to the adorable strawberry blond hair and sparkling blue eyed girls, he would do anything for her in seconds. She was the younger sibling he always wished for.
The announcement of the lord and Lady was two years after Hadrian joined them, they asked him first; knowing they couldn't live without the bright emerald eyed boy they fell in love with. His reaction was this. His eyes widened and then he danced around the whole room. A very large and toothy smile on his face that wouldn't go away for a whole week. When she was born Hadrian made sure he held her while his father was looking after his mother and even got to name her. The sparkle in those emerald eyes never disappears when he looks at her and perhaps it may never disappear.
Hadrian spent the rest of the afternoon with Rose, mostly they were outside, either in the air or with the animals at the stable. Once it was closer to dinner, their mother called them in to get ready. Hadrian laughed when his sister bounced around the halls to her room with their mother it was a sight to see.
At six o'clock the bell rang signaling the guests had arrived for dinner. Hadrian ran his hand through his raven hair which over the years became light like feathers due to his animagus. With one last look in the mirror, he was ready with his 'princely outfit' as he called it as a joke with his dad. A pair of black slacks and a fitted cotton blue and gold button down dress shirt, all under a silk blue trimmed with a green and silver design. It was his favorite, but one he truly loved was his emerald set of robes, though that was not for this occasion.
It was just a dinner with most of the main people running the tournament, and the Minister of Great Britain wanted them to host the formal dinner on signing the contract. An easy way to say they didn't want to see them back out.
Voices filled the hallway as Hadrian made his way to the closed doors; it was a custom the royal family of the house would enter together so the doors were always closed to the entry hall. Hadrian made his way to the door spotting his mother and sister already there, Rose was spinning in her blue and pink gown. Hadrian smiled as the child reacted by wearing something really nice. The blue and pink layered skirt twirled outward, giving an airy style look, with a pink top and an off the shoulder blue sleeves. It was a perfect fit for any young girl wanting to look adorable.
The three of them stood at the door waiting for Lord Anaxagoras to show up, when three minutes passed and still no Lord, they still waited. "Hadrian, Lady Anaxagoras" a voice called from the back of the hallway. Hadrian turned to see his professor coming up. Master Bierce, came up to them in his school uniform and the other Professor of Defense Against the magical class. Hadrian in his ten years here he has had both of them, both really good at what they know and tough in class. Master Birece and Master Gilman share the grades and when you want to get a Masters you have them both. Master Bierce had his sandy gray hair, almost silver in the flickering light, though he was young for being a teacher of a very demanding class. "The Lord has told me to inform you to greet the guests, something came up. A fire broke out in town he went to make sure everything went okay with putting it out. So far no one has got hurt."
"Bugger" Hadrian muttered knowing it was his job then being his son. He really didn't have a flair of words like his father.
"Is everything well?" his mother asked worried, it wasn't everyday a fire broke out or something bad happened where it needed the Lord to look over anything.
"As it seemed to be, but at the time of everything, it was when people were heading home for the night. So the cause is yet unknown. Anyways I passed this message and the Lord also said to tell you, Hadrian, buck up and take charge in your ever princely outfit."
Hadrian couldn't help it; he busted out laughing; it was something they say when Hadrian had to do anything Diplomatic.
"I will be with you young Heir since I am going to Hogwarts this year and might as well meet the important people." He stated as Hadrian calmed down though seeing his longtime Professor puff out his chest sarcastically he then doubled over with laughter.
Two minutes later Hadrian was standing next to his mother and his younger sister in the middle and the Professor behind a bit due to not being a part of the Royal Family. With a big breath Hadrian nodded to the guards at the door letting them know they were ready.
"Introducing her Royal Majesty Lady Anaxagoras, her son Heir-apparent thrice Hadrian Charlus Potter-Anaxagoras and daughter her Highness Roseamond Melantha Anaxagoras, the Royal Family." The announcer said to the hushed crowd, Hadrian took that time to look at who all was present. Minister of Magic of Great Britain and France, the Councilmen of Norway, the Headmasters and Headmistresses of the four participating schools, the Supreme Mugwump and five guests they brought along for tonight. Hadrian did have to thank his dad for the long hours of training; for he can stand there and name every one that was in the room minus some of the extra guests.
With a smile Hadrian led his family closer to the group and down the steps. The entrance was of elegance, and it truly showed the age of the whole land around it. On the sides spilling up, flaked in gold, were four alabasters going from the white and rose marble tiled floor reaching to the stained glass dome ceiling. Just something so simple let in dazzling shades of coloured sun rays. In the sunlight the walls glistened with the flower printed designs in flakes of silver. With the soft breeze from the always opened doors the white cotton fabric blowing in and out. Truly with new touches from the Royal family over the centuries has made the ancient Greek manor, Ptósi Paravel, into the exquisite beauty that stood on top of the hill always looking out for the village below.
"Ministers, Councilmen, Supreme Mugwump, and guests. I welcome you to my humble home for the last ten years, Ptósi Paravel. Has been a part of the Royal Family for Centuries, every generation leaves something behind for the next. I do have to apologize for my father Lord Anaxagoras. A fire broke out in town and went to make sure everything is alright as well as the casualties if any. With that I am joined with my Professor of Defence Against or DA; who is signed up to be Hogwarts Professor Master Bierce" Hadrian added pointing to the Professor; who bowed in respect. "Well let's adjourn to the Parlor Room for some appetizers and cocktails until dinner is ready."
Hadrian led them through the open hallway, as in it was mostly outside with no windows on one side of the Hallway. Guards were standing at an entryway with a few steps down, it was the parlor or living room for some. The open ceiling, trees and plants of old grew throughout the room, couches and sofas were scattered around in groups of four all near a Greek fire pit. Keeping the room a comfortable warm when close to one. The setting sky, painting a fairy tale style area.
Hadrian walked in and smirked as he heard oos and awes from the guests; he turned back to them "please make yourself at home, the dining room is right through those doors."
He stayed standing watching them all gather around, his sister and mother took up a couch near the small muggle fairy garden she has built over the years. It was now a trade between them, every time one of them goes to the muggle word they are to bring something to put in the garden. She herself was dancing around the area with a few of the guests that were giving her attention.
If only...54,000 seconds would pass fast so Sirius could make some of his jokes. Hadrian then noticed in his thoughts that the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Dumb- something with a bee. Oh Dumbledore that's right.
"Ah Mr. Anaxagoras-"
"I'm sorry but it's Potter Anaxagoras, if I really want to get technical it's Potter Black Anaxagoras."
"Well that is interesting to hear, and I am sorry for not realizing it." The elder man said, and Hadrian reluctantly nodded his acceptance to the apology. "I am wondering about how your school works. It has us all curious."
Hadrian raised an eyebrow and saw a few other professors and headmasters milling around to hear. "Well it's in three tears over the course of 10 years. Starting from nine to eighteen years old, though some who can't pass a tear they don't get to move on."
"You must be about eighteen, are you finishing up school." Hadrian nodded as the Durmstrang headmaster asked in a very thick accent.
"I am indeed, I have graduated onto the Higher secondary which is a two year program, working on ten masters and waiting for the certificate of one. Though with the tournament I will be finishing a half semester later than the others who are staying."
"Ten- but that is quite a lot in studying all at once" The French Headmistress shrieked in her French English accent.
Hadrian laughed as well as Professor Bierce, "some would say that but in truth there are a lot more classes one had in previous years here. I believe nine is the lowest number of classes I ever had to take and that was the first year, I mean my fifth year I had 25 classes, granted most were just intro classes… and sports."
"Unbelievable and students pass?"
"Yes minister my class only lost ten students over the years, minus the new years now my class is the largest at 51 students."
"Interesting, and Primary what does it contain?"
"Well chancellor, Primary is just that, the curriculum covers Reading, maths, world history, all the subjects you would find in a muggle primary school."
"Does that mean there are non-maj attending the school?"
"Yes about half are no-maj or Muggle and or squib. You must understand we do not have the same practices as most Europe practice. Once they graduate, the Royal Family offers scholarships for other schools wherever they want to go and it's an open invitation to come back and visit family. We here value family above everything."
"Which mastery do you have?"
"Ancient Runes, they just come really natural to me."
"My son is quite talented when he puts his mind into things" a new voice sounded into the room, everyone paused what they were doing, looked towards the entrance. A regal man with black streaked with blonde hair and intense blue eyes stood in his silk dress robe of the same as his wife.
"Lord Anaxagoras," as few breathed out.
"Guilty as charged," he responded with a smirk on his face. "Why don't we head in for some dinner? After all, traveling always makes famished people."
The group of people then followed the Lord into the Dining Hall which was decorated with lavish wood with hand carved designs. The long table was set for sixteen people that gathered. Lord and Lady Anaxagoras sat at the head of the table on one side. The other side was where Hadrian and Rosamond sat with the twelve other guests who took up places in the middle.
As soon as all the guests were seated the four-course dinner commenced, there were light conversations around the table. Everything was done to perfection. Hadrian helped his sister whenever she needed, which was mostly cutting the meat in the main course.
Which was when Rosamond was talking to Madame Maxime and Mcgonagall who both adored her to pieces, did Dumbledore start up a conversation again "Mr. Potter Anaxagoras, what made you decide to go to this school?"
Hadrian looked up from his plate seeing a few British people pause but continued on "many things sr. One being an heir to two ancient and noble houses."
"What about your family back home?"
"This is my home more than the Mansion, I haven't been back there for a while, I focused more on studying and we lost touch."
Hadrian still saw the curious look from Dumbledore but the man only nodded and didn't ask anything else, as Rose was calling for his attention. As the third course finished and dessert came out the whole table immersed themselves in random conversation. Harian just sat back in his chair listening to each conversation which was all very interesting.
Hadrian found himself after a few moments, drawn into a conversation with Igor Karcaroff the headmaster of Durmstrang. Their conversation went all over, grabbing his professor's attention and soon it carried to his father. Which led them into dessert and after. Till it ended with one question Hadrian was waiting for.
"On to transfers I am sorry but I have to ask why was Sirius transferred to here no one couldn't find what he was hit with?"
"There it is" Hadrian muttered "well I can gladly tell you, the healer and I have found and isolated the curse. I have with the help of my Potions Professor made a cure which in 39,600 seconds it would be ready to administer." Hardrian said with a please look on his face while his father rolled his eyes at his son. "He is my godfather. I would do anything to try to save him." Breaking the whispers around the table up and well Hadrian only leaned back in his chair.
"Well I would say we should get to the main reason why we have met tonight." His father said to change the conversation back to him for some time. They truly were hurt worse than Hadrian when his birth family forgot him.
A/N: Greetings, hope you enjoyed! Sending your all a happy new year. I apologize for the long leave of absence with this story, many things came up between our other stories with editing and getting them up. However I thought I already posted this chapter as I was working on the fifth one when four was done, sorry about that. Again I hope enjoyed and thanks for the reads. Let me know if there is something I could add, Keep On Smiling. Elavira Belini
