Bobby patted both of them on the shoulders as he said, "Get a load of those two on stage."
The pair turned as they saw Antonio and Robert Cole on stage as Alexis said, "What the hell are they doin'?" "Somethin' insane or somethin' smart! I can't tell ya!" Bobby said.
Nate turned to hear his phone ringing as he muttered, "Dammit! Hey, get it on video, I gotta take a call for a minute."

Nate headed out of the bar as he answered his phone, he wore a dark jacket with a white polo shirt, a pair of blue jeans with his black boots.
He then said politely, "Hello, who is this please?"
"Would you like to accept this paid phone call?" the voice on the other end said. Nate raised an eyebrow as he said, "To where is this phone call being connected to?"
"This call will be connected to Addison, just near Dallas, Texas." The voice said.
Nate's body remained still. 'Addison, Texas' he hadn't heard his home state ever come up since the death of his 'father'. Nate sighed deeply before thinking to himself, "At some point, I knew the damn world was goin' to spin and come back to bite me in the ass."
Nate brought himself back as he said, "I'll accept the phone call."

Nate followed the instructions that had been given to accept the phone call. It was then connected as he said, "Hello, who is this, please?"
"Nathaniel Dempsey?" a woman's voice then said. Nate then replied reluctantly, "This is he, identify yourself?"
The woman sighed on the other end as she said, "Thank you for picking up, I apologise for calling but there's a matter concernin' us?"
"What matter is concernin' us?" Nate asked. The woman on the other end then said, "Jason Dempsey's ranch in Arlington, Texas was left to us as a result of his death. Considerin' that the lawyer waited till now to contact you and I, we now have to settle the paperwork."
Nate growled softly hearing his 'father's' name. Jason had pushed Nate all the way to New York at the tender age of 5 years old and was never seen again. He had gone to private school on the man's dime, but at 14, Nate had been kicked out of school for multiple fights, he had been forced to survive on the streets, that was until Robert Thompson had helped him, taking him to his mother Lucy Thompson who had provided him with a warm bed and food for a few nights.
He forever remained indebted to Bobby and Lucy, insisting that he would repay them for their kindness. But Lucy on the other hand didn't want anything in return and adopted Nathaniel after hearing of his situation.
Nate was thankful for it and called Lucy his mother. Bobby, he called his brother for they had treated him with love, kindness and trust. He had repaid that all for the family.

Nate then said, "Forgive me, miss. But I believe you mistake me for someone else. For all I care, that bastard doesn't deserve nothin' from me in return."
"I expected this from you, he doesn't deserve anythin' from me either, that's why I need you to come down to Addison to help." The woman said. Nate's brain was becoming confused, he wondered what his 'father' had done to this poor woman.
Nate then asked concerned, "For what reason do you have anger towards Jason Dempsey?" "He screwed me over and left me in Ithaca, New York."
Nate's heart froze as several scenarios ran through his mind. He then asked, "What's your relation to him?" "My name is Kimberly Dempsey, I'm your little sister." Kimberly introduced herself.
Nate winced openly as he said, "How do I know you're my sister?" "When you were 14 years old, I had leukaemia. My mother dragged me to a hospital in Manhattan, she left me to die on the sidewalk, a woman named Lucy Thompson took me inside where you were in the hospital for being left on the streets with hypothermia." Kimberly explained.
Nate thought back to the day as he said, "I remember that day well. they couldn't find a blood match, I offered to do a blood test if it could save your life. The test came back positive and I donated bone marrow to you."
"One of the nurses left a clipboard behind after the procedure had been successful. I saw your name and I instantly went to find you." Kimberly said before continuing her explanation, "I compared similarities between us, that's when I knew you were my brother. We both fought to survive."
Nate nodded as he said, "When were you born?" "July 1983, I remained in New York ever since my operation." Kimberly replied.

Nate then replied, "I'm glad to hear that you're safe and sound. Considerin' the circumstances regardin' our bastard for a father." "I'd like to meet you in person. Ever since I graduated at 18, I heard you were in the Navy SEALs, Senior Chief Petty Officer Nathaniel Dempsey." Kimberly thought.
Nate then said, "That'll take some time, but I hope to see you soon, Miss Kim Dempsey." "You too, Mr Nathaniel Dempsey." Kimberly replied.
Nate ended the phone call as he breathed heavily. His heart thundered against his chest like thunder, he had a sister that he never knew about but he had saved her life when she was a young child.
He felt like he failed, he failed to know the truth about what went on after his father left him. Failure was something that had been common with him during his time in the SEALs, failing to bring the men in his team home, his casualty rate was pretty high having lost 26 SEALs assigned to his team. Only 7 men lived to tell the tales. 3 Navy SEAL had gone right off the bat and declared Nate insane for his tactics and his aggressive personality in combat by those 3 survivors.
His superiors heard the accusations thrown against him but he had promised his CO's that the man's words were just the adrenaline talking. But deep down, Nate knew that the truth was a real bitch and it hurt to hear his own SEAL brothers down right accuse him of being insane.
The only men in the SEALs that had stood by him were Mike Donarelli, Salvatore, Luigi and Marco Capelli had stood by him and Nate's strategies. Several Marines had supported him as well as several Army Ranger personnel had stood by him throughout the ordeal.

As he began walking, Nate just shut himself off from the world. he listened to the conversations of the people that had passed him by in the streets of the Upper West Side.
The sound of shoes running had Nate on alert, the voices in his head flashed him back to the war when he was in Iraq.
"Movement! Be ready, stand by for contact!"
"Hostiles moving, stand by to engage!"
(Gunfire)
"Get off the streets, we can hit 'em from the buildings!"
"RPG!"
(explosion occurs)
Nate sees someone running towards him clutching a red handbag as somebody shouted, "Help! Stop him!"
Coming alive, Nate waited for the purse snatcher to run past him. the runner had done so and Nate grabbed onto the man's hood as he said, "Where you goin'?"
Nate kicked the man between his legs as the runner groaned in agonizing pain, who said, "That hurts, man!"
"Well you shouldn't take stuff that belongs to ya!" Nate said in a sarcastic tone. The purse snatcher groaned as he said, "I ain't givin' you shit!"
Nate chuckled as he said in a threatening voice, "You don't hand me the purse that you stole, I will pry it from your hand. I'll assume that the lady you stole it from will obviously not want it damaged."
The purse snatcher relented as he let go of it, Nate caught it just before it hit the ground. He then saw a cop car as he said, "Stay there, don't run!"
He then patted the man's pockets and found a camera as he pocketed it.

Nate turned around as he saw a woman with tear streaks down her face, she had long black hair that came down past her shoulders to the middle of her back. She had dark eyes that resembled the night sky that presently overcame the city.
The young girl wore a red coat with a red cardigan alongside a grey and black dress with an unfamiliar pattern that Nate couldn't recognise. She looked incredibly beautiful, the feelings that had stirred inside Nate were new and unfamiliar to him.
He then walked over as he said, "Are you okay, miss?"
"Have you seen a red bag; it is completely red with a zip on it?" the brunette had said.
Nate smiled and held it out, "I believe this is the bag you speak of?" "Oh, thank God, you found it. Thank you so much." The brunette replied as she embraced Nate.
He then said, "Not a problem ma'am, was there anythin' missing from the bag?" "There was a camera inside, I was taking pictures of the Statues of Liberty with it." the brunette replied.
Nate nodded as he pulled out a camera before saying, "I'm not sure if this is what you're lookin' for…"
The brunette took the camera as she opened it and found her pictures of the Statue of Liberty as she said, "Thank you so much, you've made my day." "My pleasure, Miss. You have a good trip in New York City." Nate said as he began to walk away.

The brunette woman thought to herself, "Don't let him get away Alina. He looks cute, just talk to him."
Alina smiled as she walked over to the man and said, "Excuse me, sir?"
Nate turned around as he saw the brunette standing in front of him, the brunette smiled as she said, "Do I get a name to thank you?"
"Nathaniel, Nathaniel Dempsey. My friends call me Nate, though." Nate introduced himself. the brunette smiled and introduced herself, "My name's Alina, Alina Lafayette. Call me Lina or Ally."
"I like Lina, your name's very beautiful. Greek meaning is Light." Nate supplied. Alina laughed, "Nathaniel, your meaning refers to Gift of God in Hebrew, named after a follower of Jesus from the Gospel of John."
Nate nodded, "I had a very religious parent. I'm an Irish-Catholic." "Me too, I'm Catholic." Alina said.
Nate smiled, "The best church in the city is the Trinity Church, St. Paul's. 75th Broadway, just facing Wall Street."
"Looks like I'll head there tomorrow." Alina replied. Nate then said, "Can I walk you back to your hotel?"
"Small problem, I travelled a little far from my place. I think I might have strayed too far." Alina pointed out.
Nate nodded and indicated behind him, "Don't worry, sometimes it happens. I'll drive you back to the hotel, my car's just up here."
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Alina smiled as she politely accepted the offer, the pair walked back to a Red Ford 1965 Mustang as Nate opened the car door for Alina, as she accepted it.
Nate got into the driver's seat as he started the engine, he then said, "So where's your hotel?"
Alina then confessed, "I'm not staying at a hotel. I'm staying at an apartment on 310 East 46th Street." Nate then thought to himself, "I know the street, it's about 20 minutes in the city."
"I know I'm asking a lot; you don't have to do this…" Alina said. Nate smiled, "Lina, it's okay, I'm comfortable with driving you to your place and making sure you get to the door just fine."
Alina smiled as she accepted the help, Nate put the car into drive as they drove through the city hoping to get to Alina's apartment.

2115 Hours
310 East 46th Street
Alina and Nate arrived at the apartment, they walked to the door as Alina opened it. Nate then said, "Allow me to check the apartment, please?"
Alina furrowed an eyebrow as she asked, "Is somethin' the matter?" "Occupational hazard." Nate simply replied.
Nate did a quick check of the apartment, even checking all of the wardrobes and blind spots as he said, "I can safely say that you'll be sleeping very peacefully tonight in the apartment. I apologize for my actions. One can't be too careful in The City that Never Sleeps."
Alina laughed before saying, "Thank you a lot for this. I know you didn't want to search the place but I appreciate it." "Of course, Lina. I hope you have a good night." Nate replied with his best smile.
She reached into her purse as she wrote down on her notebook, she tore a piece of paper off and handed it to Nate. On the paper was a phone number and message that said, "Call me, Nate. xx."
Nate chuckled as he asked, "May I borrow your pen?" "Sure." Alina gave him the pen as he began to write something down. He handed it back as Alina saw a phone number as Nate said, "Call me, anytime."
Alina smiled as she then kissed him on the cheek, her eyes widened as she said, "I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry, Miss Lafayette. You have a good night." Nate replied with a reassuring smile as he exited the apartment.
Alina closed the door behind Nate as she rested herself against the door before saying, "What was I thinking?"
Nate headed down the stairs, he then got into his car and drove straight to his adoptive mother's house in Brooklyn as he thought to himself, "What an evening I'm having so far."
