Arc 1 - Chapter 2
A few days later*
Behind my Fox Mask, I'm grinning like mad. As I just tested out my newly created Magical Items. After admitting that trying to sense and utilize my mana to do something beyond what the skills I possess could accomplish would not work, or perhaps I don't have the talent to do such a thing.
Nevertheless, I can use Omnifabrication to create Magical Items to perform magic and/or skills that are not even part of this world's system. Let alone help me cast my present of Magic beyond what they should be able to do.
I stare at a pack of wolves tearing each other to pieces where the winner would consume the remaining perished losers to satisfy their hunger through cannibalism. Something that shouldn't be possible in a typical pack of wolves until now.
All this happens is due to the Magical Items in the form of a smoke bomb pellet. Where the smoke itself would influence the wolves' brains to be fooled and make all of them perceive each other as something that needs to be eaten at all cost.
Furthermore, other than the brain is being deceived. All the wolf's senses are messed up as well. The sense of touch and hearing are gone. This includes deactivating the ability to feel pain. Leaving the senses of sight, smell, and taste active. The latter two changed to the highest possible.
So this way, the wolves wouldn't be able to tell the difference between eating their kind or not.
Watching a pack of wolves going at each other until only one, barely alive, is left standing. It is interesting since I created a drug that could bring one's race against another. Death by cannibalism is one of the nastiest ways to die, and done by someone close to you is even worse, but I know many ways that are much more awful and sickening.
But, I don't think I will make something like this ever again unless I need to. It wasn't that exciting to see a pack of wolves attacking each other. Maybe I should've used it on other species. But, for now, I will leave that drug alone for the time being.
It looks like the drug's effects are about to end.
The last wolf starts shaking its head and looking around with vigilance before it freezes. Then a second later, it falls to the ground motionless.
Using the Fox Mask to heighten my sense of sight to see farther and discern if it just keeled over, but I don't see it moving one bit. Not even breathing.
No clue if it was just this wolf or if a different one would continue to eat the scattered corpses of wolves after the drug wore off. Either way, I got what I wanted with that drug I created for the hell of it. Plus, I was feeling a bit merciful not to make the drug a permanent thing. No clue if it was better if I didn't.
"10 minutes." I mumble to myself.
To think that's how long it took for the drug to cause a pack of wolves to die like that.
I spin the deactivated Fujin as I find myself imagining what next to build.
I want to develop something that would bring results that even I won't expect at all. Of course, over the past few days. I have been busy making a few types of equipment to help me survive this fantasy world. I'm not a fool to think this peace would last forever in Axel. There must be an explanation why the demons haven't raided the town yet.
The drug test is done, along with field testing of the Fox Mask and Fujin. I should make other Magical Items to prepare for the sudden events with whatever aims to kill me.
"Chariot Requiem!" I shout out as a shadowy figure appears behind me. It has a slight build and average height, and its most striking feature is shrouded in shadows, appearing entirely black. It wears a large hat, one side folded over its top, a coat over which Chariot Requiem sports large rings serving as shoulder pads, a stylized belt, and a trouser decorated with braces around the ankles. Its face has an arrow-like mark underneath what seems to be a large, empty eye.
This is the evolved form of the Silver Chariot after being pierced by the Stand-creating Arrow. A Requiem Stand from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Vento Aureo. As to how I got this Requiem Stand. I used the Stand-creating Arrow, a powerful item that awakens the Stand of any living creature it pierces. Of course, the Stand itself will be random, but I made it, so it gives me the exact Stand I wanted before using the arrow again to get the Chariot Requiem. But, it doesn't give me the canon Chariot Requiem. It gave me something more, including the canon's abilities.
And I was not being stupid to leave such a thing lying around and allow others to gain a powerful Stand like Silver Chariot and the evolved version. I ensured the arrow itself would destroy itself after being used a second time after getting the Chariot Requiem.
I still can't believe this world has the right amount of materials to craft the Stand-creating Arrow. Then again, there's magic and other things in this fantasy world.
I give a mental command to the Requiem Stand to use Regeneration Manipulation on the wolves' carcasses.
Chariot Requiem walks over to the pile of wolves' corpses, where it touches each of the corpses one by one as they slowly regenerate back to their previous state. Even regrowing back lost limbs and essential organs in plain sight before a new layer of skin and fur cover it up.
If it weren't for the scattered wolf parts, no one would notice a big fight among the wolves and instead of a pack of wolves just finished eating their latest prey before they lay down to rest for a bit.
Moving on. I order Chariot Requiem to use Grand Scale Soul Manipulation to draw the souls of the dead wolves back into their restored whole and healthy bodies.
To my disappointment, none of the bodies moved, and Chariot Requiem did nothing after restoring all the corpses to their original form.
The disappointment didn't last that long when I noticed my mana was still being drained at an alarming rate. Instantly, I figured out why the corpses hadn't moved yet.
Specifically, because too many souls are being dragged from the afterlife by Chariot Requiem, it requires more mana. And going by each second, I would say that I might not have enough mana to bring back all the wolves.
Quickly, I shifted my order for the Chariot Requiem to focus only on one wolf instead of all at once.
To my relief, to see my guess is correct. As the rate of my mana being drained by Chariot Requiem has massively been reduced, I won't have to worry about having all my mana drained. I have not been told what would happen if that happened, not having any mana in my body after using all of it.
Maybe in the future, I could do a large-scale resurrection. But for now. I should just be glad I can at least revive a living being. No idea about humans, but it should be possible. As long the said human isn't too powerful for whatever reason, that would make my version of resurrection impossible to do.
A few minutes later*
Chariot Requiem held the wolf that was just resurrected by the neck while pushing it onto the ground. Stop it from attacking me or just run away in fear, which I can completely understand why.
So after a quick check of the wolf for anything out of the ordinary after performing a resurrection to the wolf. I concluded that as long there are some remains of anything alive at one point. Using Regeneration Manipulation and Grand Scale Soul Manipulation together will be enough to resurrect anyone. Of course, as long I have mana to support the resurrection. Otherwise, it would be impossible to revive the target back to life.
No clue if I could put souls into inanimate objects or not, but I'll test this idea at a later date.
Going back to the wolf. It didn't turn into a mutated monster after some time, nor did it become some kind of a zombie wolf craving for the living flesh, not that it hasn't already before. This wolf is 100% normal and could be passed off as any other normal wolf without anyone knowing it was dead recently.
Under my order, Chariot Requiem crushed the wolf's head like an egg and faded from existence afterward.
Man, I've barely scratched the surface of what Chariot Requiem could do after the modifications I've done to it. I seriously need to make up some more time to train using it. Or else it would be a big waste not using it when having it available for me to use whenever I want.
I pull out my Adventurer's Card to check if these dead wolves count as my kills, and to my surprise, it does since I'm now level 15.
Nice.
Now, with 14 skill points for me to use. But, I'll save them. I have a specific skill in mind that would cost more than 14 skill points.
I put the card away and heading back to the adventurer guild to get my reward for killing the pack of wolves.
An hour later*
I don't know if this is a trap or not, but to watch a foolish blonde-haired girl in yellow armor, swinging a two-handed sword at a pack of wolves, and here the part where I use the word: foolish on this girl, is the fact she is missing on every swing.
If that wasn't bad enough. Not a moment too soon, the sword got stuck in a nearby tree, and she struggled to get it out. Although I don't know if I'm seeing things, it is like she wasn't even trying to put effort into getting her sword unstuck.
The wolves leap at the girl, causing her to cry in shock and fall to the ground. Swordless and unarmed now.
"You think this is enough to take me down?!" The blonde-haired girl tries to shake the wolves biting onto her sleeves and some trying to get a good grip on the metal boots. "Come on, is that all you big bad wolves can do?! I no longer have my sword to protect myself, so release all your beasty urge onto me if you dare!"
"Okay, there is something wrong with this girl." I mumble dryly, staring at this awkward display before my eyes and wondering if this is truly a trap or if this foolish girl has something wrong with her head.
I narrow my eyes when I pick up one detail. Her face is red and not because she is beyond frustrated. No. It's an entirely different reason. Especially the facial expression is anything but frustration.
Slowly, a small grin begins to form on my face.
If my guess is correct, I hope it is, then I might have found my first companion in this fantasy world.
Sliding the Fox Mask over to my fast. Activating Fujin.
Before the wolves or the girl could even react, all the wolves are slain instantly, spilling blood all over the blonde-haired girl.
I was now standing next to the girl's head, and I tilted my head down to allow the girl to get a better look at me.
"Ah?" The blonde-haired girl looked confused, and suddenly, she quickly stood up. "Um, thanks for helping me."
I tilt my head. Not saying anything; well, more like I had no words to speak with the way I could hear the disappointment in her tone in the end. She is undoubtedly sad about not getting injured by the wolves and other things.
After a few seconds of silence, the blonde-haired girl slowly moves toward the tree with her sword still stuck and easily removes it like nothing, unlike before when she struggled to get it out.
Before the blonde-haired girl could say or do anything. A glowing green blade tip is pointed at her neck, causing her to freeze.
"I-Is there something wrong?" The blonde-haired girl's cheeks gain a pink hue; she begins breathing at a faster pace. "Did I do something to upset you?"
No words were spoken before I moved Fujin away from the girl's neck, and I was right, as there is now a disappointed look appeared on the girl's face for a few seconds before her excitement came back the very moment I pushed her against the tree behind, neck grabbed by my free hand.
"Are you going to have your way with me?! I'll have you know that I will never give up fighting back for my freedom!" The blonde-haired girl didn't even bother to defend herself. Hell, the sword she wield could easily be used to push me away with a simple swing; however, she did nothing but stare at me with eyes filled with lust. Eager for me to continue.
Yeah, this is without a doubt about it. I know exactly what type of person this girl is. Someone I find both annoying and happy to deal with.
Annoying because I do have some standards and rather not do something when I'm not in the mood. Happy because she and others like her are the types of people that are easy to handle.
I lean a bit, nearly having my face to the girl's face, and if it wasn't for having a mask on. I would easily feel her heavy breathing on my face with the way she was panting.
"I'll have you know that you don't scare me! Go ahead! Tear my armor, cloth, all of it off! I'll resist and protect my purity from your dirty intention! You may have my body even in the end, but you'll never have my heart!" The blonde-haired girl declares with righteousness.
Too bad her action is the opposite of what she just said. Since she just dropped her sword, not showing an ounce of said resistance, she mentioned.
However, that didn't mean I wanted to claim this girl as mine right away. Capturing her heart will be done with time, and resisting wouldn't matter since everyone has a limit.
Releasing the girl from my grip causes her to fall to her knees and still look at me with desire, but with confusion mixed in for a second or two before it's replaced with more lust. Letting me understand precisely what the girl wants from me.
"Your reaction is boring." I deactivate Fujin and walk away without turning back.
"H-Hey, wa-it!"
I ignore the shout behind me as I proceed back to town. Since there is a high chance this girl will try her best to find me or until she can remember, she has a pair of good healthy legs to chase after me right now. Either way, I found a girl to help me release some stress when the time comes to it.
3 days later*
I let out a tired yawn while stretching to loosen my stiff muscles from staying in one position for too long.
I look at the small container on my desk. My finished creation of Mana Pills. 500 small pills with each one would restore my mana to full in seconds.
Honestly, I did not expect to solve my mana shortage by using anything powered by it. Lucky for me, all the materials needed to create these Mana Pills are easy to get.
Well, this is a temporary solution until I level further to increase my Mana reserve. Or maybe create something to improve my mana reserve without having to rely on leveling up only. Unless there is a passive type skill that does that, but I didn't see such a thing on the skills list.
Nonetheless, as with any other fantasy-related world, there's always something similar or exactly a Mana Potion in different tiers on how much and time the consumer recovers their mana upon use. For me, such a thing is no problem, and I go for the top-tier pill version recovery items.
I know using these Mana Pills at my current level is a waste. But come on, I can make them easily, and it only takes half an hour to make a batch of 500.
Sure, it is a waste to use these now at my current level. But, I can make them easily and only take half an hour to make a batch of 500. It may take longer, depending on how long it takes for me to gather the materials to make them.
I grab the Mana Pills container and pocket it. Along with all my other things stored in.
I've turned my pockets into a hammerspace with the feature of shrinking large objects the moment I put said objects near one of my pockets, sucking it right in like nothing. As well as making sure the objects would return to their original size the moment it's taken out.
For the rest of my clothes, I used a sticker with special effects, created through Omnifabrication, to turn my pockets into hammerspace and turn my clothes into stronger materials, but still silky soft and can repair themselves via using my own Mana.
I begin to think about what to do today. Now, I have something to increase my usage in whatever needs mana.
Walking over to an open window and cast Magic Hand. Constructing a blue see-through hand of the same size as my own. Appearing just a couple of feet away from my right hand.
With a wave of my right hand, causing the Magic Hand to move outside, I cast Create Water inside the Magic Hand before canceling both. Leading to the water in the shape of my hand floats for a second and falls afterward, splashing any unlucky person walking nearby.
"What the hell?!" An unlucky person cried out from below.
I sigh, feeling bored again.
It was funny the first couple of times, but now it's just plain dull, and no one still hasn't figured out I'm the one that caused people to get splashed with water.
Well, at least I figured out how to cast Magic and follow up with another to fuse it into the first one. So the Magic I've purchased before with those 24 skill points wasn't a complete waste after all.
I am a bit curious if it's just me that can do this or if it's a common thing for others could do. Well, I'll find out later on.
Closing the window with a newly created Magic Hand and leaving the rented room to head over to the adventurer guild. Maybe that cute blonde girl finally found me today.
20 minutes later*
Entering through the front doors. I order a plate of fried fog meat to eat from one of the workers nearby before sitting down at a table that's free nearby.
I peeked around the area before two individuals caught my attention. Okay, it's more like one of them than both.
To think I would see the shitty goddess who sent me into this fantasy world and gave me the Omnifabrication. I have no idea why she is here, and all I know is that I have the opportunity to deal with it now instead of figuring out a way to get into that place where I met her.
Oh, this will be good, and it would be great. It would be glorious...
But, for now, the shitty goddess happens to come at the right time to entertain me. Hell, I might figure out a to tab that ass of her. After all, I had never had sex with a goddess before. Maybe it is better than doing it with a mortal woman?
Who knows, but I'll ensure she doesn't have too bad of a time. After all, she is the one that gave me a second chance at life and including the Omnifabrication. I shouldn't be too ungrateful, right?
It still won't change the fact that I'll mess with her.
I cast Paralyze from a long distance possible as long as one has the mana to spare. In addition, the target doesn't have high Magic Resistance. And to my disappointment, to see that the Magic Paralyze did NOT affect Aqua and how she continues to eat her food without a care. Then again, what would I expect from a goddess?
"Here's your fried fog meat, Sir." A waitress places a plate down before me, then excuse herself and continues her job serving others after I give her my thanks.
I pick up the fork and start eating the fried fog meat as I think about what I should use to mess with the Aqua. Then an idea came to me.
I take out my Adventurer's Card, bring up my skills list, and then click on Magic Hand.
[Magic Hand]'s Upgrade List:
Name: Thought Command
Effect: Controlling with one's thoughts.
SP Cost: 2
I purchased the upgrade for the Magic Hand, something I learned about how to upgrade my Magic and skill by using skill points on it, which I overheard from the other adventurers mentioning yesterday. I just forgot about it when something caught my attention at the time and remember it now.
Constructing a Magic Hand below me, then controlling it with my thought and slowly moving it towards Aqua while making sure not to act out of the ordinary. Of course, I must concentrate hard because this is my first time doing this. Not that I was that used to using Magic Hand in the first place since it's also a recent new skill purchased.
It took me a couple of minutes, but I managed to have the Magic slowly hover behind a certain person's head without letting anyone see it.
Like I did before with Create Water and Magic Hand. I release it just a bit above Aqua's head, pouring water over her before anyone could warn her.
"AH! Who did that?! Who pour water over my head?!" Aqua shrieked with rage, looking around the area to find the culprit. Sadly for her, she won't be able to find out who since I'm far away from where she is, and no one noticed it was me at all. After all, not many people would always look below them.
Of course, no one was coming up to let Aqua know it was me if someone did. So, watching the shitty goddess making a fool out of herself for minutes now was amusing to me until I got bored.
I left after finishing my food and picking up another hunting quest since there are other Magical Items I've made that need to be tested.
The moment I exit the building. I begin to wonder if my luck has been getting better lately or not because the cute blonde girl just happened to be in front of me.
"Bye." I give the cute blonde girl, who is surprised to see me, and I walk on the path that leads outside the town.
It only took 5 seconds before the girl behind me snapped out of it and quickly chased after me while shouting for me to wait for her.
"Please wait!" The blonde girl shouts at me until she catches up and sees how I'm not stopping; she starts walking beside me. "Excuse me, may I ask if you are in a team already?"
"Nope." I simply replied.
"Please team up with me, then!" The blonde girl shouts with excitement and suddenly grabs my hand. But, I didn't stop moving, forcing the girl to follow me while holding my hand.
"Nah, I'm good. I rather solo than carry a burden." I rejected her, and the blonde girl tightened her grip on my hand.
"Please team up with me; I'll do all the heavy work! No, I phrased it wrongly." The blonde girl caught herself before calming down to speak her mind, but she didn't let go of my hand.
"Go on." I didn't show it on my face, but this girl is slightly different from those back home. Then again, they weren't good-looking like this one and weren't so much more open in public.
"As a Knight, I can't stand by and watch you fight monsters alone. My class's the top-tier Crusader, so allow me to cover your back." She pushes herself against me to the point that she is hugging my arm now, making it look like she is my girlfriend to those watching this display.
"I don't need someone to cover my back." I rejected the girl's offer to protect me from any attacks from behind.
20 minutes later*
Darkness, the blonde girl's name that should be fake, but who knows with this fantasy world, has been trying to persuade me to form a team with her.
If it weren't for knowing the type of girl she is, I would have already gotten rid of her for being so noisy. Well, that and her fantastic body suit my taste is another major factor or not kicking her away.
"Alright. I will give you a chance to see if it's worth teaming up with you." I decided to 'give up' on getting rid of Darkness and see if she could pass my test to team up. The duration of how long the team lasts is up for debate.
"Sure! What test do you require me to do?!" Darkness asks with excitement and can't wait to do what challenging tasks are given to her.
"You just have to dodge." I said to Darkness, who looked at me with a confused look on her face.
Darkness opened her mouth to ask before she was cut off.
"Chariot Requiem." I mentally command the Requiem Stand to attack Darkness, but only using its fists and using Regeneration Manipulation to prevent her from dying, nothing else but that.
I saw the look on Darkness' face to know my unspoken question if she could see Chariot Requiem or not. Of course, she might be faking it or wasn't surprised to see a Stand. Nonetheless, the bunch to her stomach knocked that confusion off her face. Even though the speed of Chariot Requiem's punch isn't that fast compared to other powerful Stands, Darkness should have been able to dodge the attack. Thereby, it is either Darkness is more of a strength-type fighter and lacks in the speed department, or she can't see Chariot Requiem.
"What punch me?" Darkness groans mostly to herself as she drops to her knees and holds her stomach in pain and pleasure. Before blinking as she looks at me once again, confused, no doubt, it's because of the pain disappearing too fast than it should normally be.
"Come now; you must dodge if you want to pass my test." I said to Darkness as Chariot Requiem just healed her. Then a thought popped into my head, and I wanted to test if my theory worked or not.
"Dodge wh-UGH!" Darkness was interrupted before she could ask her question as she got punched in the face this time and lost a few teeth. Blood started leaking out of her mouth; then Darkness let out a groan of pleasure.
I crouch down to Darkness, then move her hands away from her mouth and grab the sides of Darkness' mouth, forcing her mouth open, where I see her having all her teeth. Not a single one is missing. I look down, where the few teeth Chariot Requiem knocked out.
"Create Water." I point with my left index at Darkness' open mouth, causing her to swallow some water along with her blood unconsciously and end up making her cough roughly, which I gently pat her back afterward.
I waited for Darkness to get a hold of herself and didn't bother to distance myself as I knew she wouldn't attack me for hurting her. If anything, by the moaning she makes after she is done coughing. I would say she would forgive me easily if I were to apologize. But I won't. Not when I know that Darkness would care.
"More..." Darkness mumbled, causing me to raise an eyebrow. "MORE!" Darkness tried to jump me, but Chariot Requiem prevented that from happening as it punched Darkness in the face again, but there was no injury this time. Other than the blood she spits out as evidence of the attack happening if it wasn't for Chariot Requiem's Regeneration Manipulation.
I blankly stare at Darkness, where after she rolled on the ground for a few seconds before getting on her hands and knees, crawling towards me with a face of lewd—wanting to get more injured by me.
"Dodge." I said to Darkness, who was just about to touch my face with her left hand when Chariot Requiem caught it, then crushed it into a bloody mess, causing Darkness to let out a shout of pleasure.
Darkness drops back to the ground, but my Requiem Stand still holds her left hand.
Chariot Requiem's Regeneration Manipulation took effect once more as Darkness' crushed left-hand returned to its original appearance.
"Hmm." I thought about if I should keep my words about how I would team up with her if she passed my little test, but so far, she is failing badly as she is too much of a masochist to understand when and where the time is needed for this pain-pleasure.
I dismiss Chariot Requiem and wait for Darkness to snap out of it. However, I must have gone too far and too fast before she could adjust to the pain level. Now, she is on the ground, out cold and completely defenseless.
I deadpan to see the look of pure bliss on Darkness' face.
"Hey. Wake up. You caused me to have a boner. So wake up and take care of it." I softly slap Darkness' right cheek to wake her up because I'm not going to let her be the only one that feels good.
Splashing her face via Create water woke her up instantly and nearly smashed into my face if I didn't move back at the last second.
"So you've failed my test." I start off. As I can tell Darkness wasn't in the right mind. "But, if you help me with a little problem. I'm sure you could change my mind."
Darkness blinks before looking at me, then follows where I'm pointing downward, and right away, her face becomes red.
Darkness starts stuttering and not making much sense, not that she was making any in the first place, and she quickly nods her head to agree to help me with my problem.
I ignore the way she is now drooling; no clue if it's drool or from the water I created.
"Great. Come on; I'm not going to do it out of the open." I said to Darkness, standing up and holding a hand to help her get back her feet.
The disappointment in her eyes wasn't missed as she accepted my hand to get up; I quickly performed a partial summon of Chariot Requiem to boost my strength to get Darkness back on her feet. Damn, she is heavy, but with that armor, she is wearing, it should be expected she would be heavy.
"Well, not yet, that is." I smirk when Darkness blushes at the thought of doing it in public. "Come on, the soon we get back to town, the quicker you can help me fix my problem." And that's all I need to say as Darkness happily follows me back to town, where we would go to her or my rented room.
