chapter two: I'm Her Father!
Hinata Hyuga stared at her father with mixed feelings. In one hand he had practically kidnapped Naruto so that worried her, and on the other he had done what she had dream of doing for years... taking Naruto to the compound! He had taken Naruto away from the villagers eyes and put a huge wall of protection around him; nobody would dare to attack him now while he lived there. Yet, Hinata felt like her father was up to something, he never did anything without reason or reward. What would the point in helping Naruto? Much less stating that he was gonna be there forever.
"You're crazy old man?! I'm not gonna stay with you forever! What about my home?" Naruto yelled while he started to struggle again.
"Home? You mean that cupboard you call an apartment? Easy, we will set it on fire. It's an eyesore." Hiashi said without missing a step and completely ignoring the old man comment.
"Hey! You can't just burn people's apartments down... can you? Being clan-head can give you that power? Naruto asked warily.
"No, what gives me that power has nothing to do with being clan-head, but rather me exercising my will and not giving a damn about anything else. Never forget this Uzumaki Naruto; I'm all powerful and I'm all knowing too. So, don't you think you can go sneaking into my daughter's room. Do that and die. Painfully." Hiashi threaten as he looked at a bewildered Naruto.
"Why would I want to go to Hinata's room? Is she gonna teach me some cool jutsu?" Naruto asked making Hinata face go red.
"Not if I can't help it." Hiashi said coldly making Naruto confused and Hinata pouted.
"Okay, okay, I get it. I'm stuck with you, no going to Hinata's room, and no trying to escape?" Naruto question.
"Exactly, Uzumaki! Now let me welcome you into your new home. The Hyuga compound." Hiashi said as he put Naruto down and place a hand on both children back.
"W-W-W-Welcome H-H-Home, N-N-Naruto-kun. Hinata said softly.
As the three of them walked into the compound various things happened; first, the guards hesitantly open the gates, secondly everyone stared when they pass, and finally Hinata fainted. Naruto freaked and went to check on Hinata, but was stop by a hand on his collar pulling him back. Hiashi didn't even flinch when Naruto scream and kick, trying his best to escape, and of course bringing the attention of everyone in the compound. Hiashi stared at the fainted form of his daughter for a moment and then with flick raise of his wrist guards came to carry his daughter away to her room. Naruto couldn't believe his eyes; Hinata's father didn't even bother to check on her before sending her away! How dare he?! Naruto twisted himself and spit at Hiashi's face. Everyone froze, but Hiashi didn't even bothered to wipe the spit of his face as he dragged Naruto away into his study and deposited him on one of the chairs.
"So, I take you took offense to something, Uzumaki?" Hiashi asked, his face as stoic as ever.
"Yeah, I did! You didn't even check on Hinata-Chan! You're supposed to be her dad, right? So, go and take care of her! She could be dying and you just left her there!" Naruto raged.
"My daughter isn't dying, Uzumaki. Besides, she should be held into a higher standard since she is the heiress to this clan. She shouldn't need a father watching her every move. Though, maybe you think she's useless." Hiashi stated.
"How dare you!" Naruto started, but Hiashi continue a faint smirk in his face in knowing he hit a nerve.
"I would have to agree with you. Let's face it. Hinata may look like a Hyuga Heiress, but she' isn't really one. No heiress could be so shy, so pittiful...so weak. She truly is a failure." Hiashi said as he watched Naruto face closely; his usual blue eyes seemed to change briefly into red orbs before Naruto threw himself at Hiashi from across his desk.
"Don't! Speak! About! Hinata! Like! That!" Every word was accompanied by a punch to the face, Hiashi didn't dodge them, and Naruto only stop punching when a hand came to rest on his shoulder.
"Thank you, Uzumaki." Hiashi spoke softly; his stoic mask slipping for a moment. Naruto was confused, and that halted him in his rage.
"You see, Uzumaki... Everyday, every single damned day, I hear people gossiping over my daughter. People whispering about how weak she is, about how much of a failure she is, about not being as good as her younger sister. If Hinata stays how she is... I have no doubt she would be strip of her birth right. I need help. I tried everything I could think off, my last choice is you. You can help Hinata become brave and in exchange I will teach you both how to become strong shinobi." Hiashi said as Naruto loosen his grip on shock.
"Why me?" Naruto asked lost not knowing how can a dead last help someone.
"Because she loves you. Love can change people; make them strong, brave, and courages. That's why I need you... she needs you." Hiashi said as mentally apologized to his daughter for speaking about her feelings.
"S-S-She loves me?" Naruto said as everything started to fall in place; the fainting, the stuttering, the way she would look at him when she thought he wasn't aware. It was all because she loved him. Not because she was sick! Oh, Kami- sama, that would also explain the lunches that were left by his desk and the treats by his door. Naruto felt so many emotions well up inside him; he needed time to think. To sort everything out, but something told him he was about to get that luxury.
"Yes, she does. I believe if you train with her; it will help her. I believe if you return her feelings it will help her even more." Hiashi stated simply.
"That's a pretty selfish request to make." Naruto murmur.
"I'm her father, Uzumaki. I'm entitled to be as selfish as I can on her behalf." Hiashi said and Naruto sigh.
"Where am I going to sleep? It better not be with you or in a room next to yours." Naruto said as he got up from Hiashi.
Hiashi felt his lips twitch into a small smirk; he knew a victory when he saw one.
