All the mistakes are mine but the characters are sadly not mine.
Hi! This was something on my mind, lets see how it goes. Review if you like it!
Set in early Avengers in an alternative super soft universe.
"Bet you I can scare Steve with this one." Natasha was fiddling with her phone before she tossed it over to Clint. He squinted at the image on her phone, held it close then far before bringing it back close to his face then made those shocked 'O' lips.
Its literally been less than three months since the ice and Steve has had probably a few dozen panic attacks and probably ran screaming a few other times where he then proceeded to not leave his room or his floor for a few days. This world had so much he didn't understand, some he couldn't even comprehend. His new 'team' was put in charge by Director Fury to 'introduce' him to everything he might need or should know. Simple things like touchscreen stuff, Bluetooth things, 'WIFI' and how to change the input on the tv and switch from consoles to cable to smart cast and airplay and that's after he learns how to project things from his new fancy phone to the tv. More difficult things that he will need to know for work, how to communicate with the pilot, how to use a flash drive, what 'USB' is and why its not the same as HDMI on a computer. He was also told to take some Spanish lessons which is the only thing so far, aside from missions, combat and the gym, he's extremely excited about every single time. A good teacher will pull you in, Agent Hill is a really good teacher.
"I don't know.. with the things we see nowadays. He's probably seen it already." There was a click from Clint's mouth, a disapproving sound. He put her phone down on the ground to continue to look at it while he clipped his toe nails on the ground over a paper towel. "You're disgusting." Natasha said, she got up, took her phone and made her way to the elevator.
"I was going to do in your bed." He mumbled, but she had left already.
Later in the day Steve has just arrived back from his Spanish lessons. A book in hand with a notebook a small pencil pouch and a folder all tucked under his arm. Usually he'd go straight to his room and start of his homework and studying what Maria thought him today. Gym was next then shower then they'll have dinner, but today was Friday and Maria had taken mercy on him with homework so we was happy and maybe a little sad that he didn't have anything to do that related learning Spanish but he knows he's going to go to the corner café and test his Spanish with the barista that tests him every time he's there.
"Hey Steve, how was class?" Natasha called from the couch, she has her usual mischievous smile on but other than than she wears her favorite leggings and a loose t-shirt. They have sometimes a lot of days off until the next time the world's ending or something big enough is happening where the police can not handle it and the thought to call the national guard is out there.
He doesn't stop when he calls back to her from half way to his room, "Its not a class! I'm the only student." Rogers put his stuff away on top of his computer desk and made his way back to the living room with Clint who happens to be right behind him. Banner and Tony had their own floors and Thor's room was in the making so for now he shared a bed with Steve if he ever came around. Steve did have the largest room and the largest bed. He was also the only one who's clothing fit the God so most times they shared a closet too, aside from undergarments and gym attire they ended up in each other's clothes a lot or well mostly Thor wearing his clothes, but Steve didn't mind one bit. Thor really didn't have his own clothes and he spent a lot of time in his own home.
"What did you learn today?" Clint said as he passed the blond and made his way to his favorite spot on the couch, Steve liked to steal it sometimes. He obviously liked that spot too but if Clint was there Steve didn't go for it. He sat in the middle and propped his legs on the small beanbags they had laying around.
"I learned how to say window, door, roof, wall, floor, ceiling, stairs, elevator, hallway and parking lot." Steve was about to sit when Natasha held out a pair of glasses to him from where she was sitting. They looked to be made of paper, oddly colored. One lens in light red and the other in a light blue, super bulky and light weight. "What?" He said.
"Try them on." She said, but didn't even wait for Steve to take them before she got up and placed them on his face and around his ears. Steve looked so retro in them, Barton couldn't help but chuckle about it. "Come, stand here. I'm going to show you this game. You can only play it with the glasses otherwise it hurts your eyes." She guided him around the center table and stood him in front of the very large tv Stark had blessed them with. Clint squinted at her and she winked at him as she pushed Steve to the right spot. Both Clint's eyebrows raised, 'ah' he said without actually making any noise. This must be the thing she wanted to scare Steve with.
Well, this is about to be hilarious.
Texting Tony
Clint: Hey, can you tell Jarvis to record in the living room at my floor
Tony:..
Clint: Can you?
Tony: You do it
Clint: I can't
Tony: Why not
Clint: I donno, can you do it
Tony: Just ask Jarvis and he'll do it
Clint: I can't
Tony: Why not?
Tony: What are you up to?
Tony: What are you doing?
Tony: Stop doing what you're doing
Tony: I swear to god if you break any more of my furniture or appliances
Clint: Relax.. I'm not going to break anything
Tony: Then what are you doing?
Clint: Besides, I don't break shit.. Steve does!
Tony: True..
Clint: So can you do it?
Tony: Magic Words
Clint: Please
Tony: What was that?
Clint: Asshole, can you please tell Jarvis to start recording in our living room?
Tony: I'll think about it birdy
Clint: ...
"What am I supposed to be doing here Nat? Its just lines." Steve was staring at the massive tv screen and horizontal lines through these hideous glasses that refused to sit right oh his nose.
"You're supposed to follow the lines from top to bottom with your eyes. A see through square will appear to help you, follow that with your eyes. Its just to make your eyes adjust to the game." She said behind him on the couch, Steve couldn't see her but she was biting both her lips so hard to stop herself from laughing and giving it away.
"Okay, I can do that." Steve followed the thick likes with his eyes his head turning from the left to right then dropping an inch to the next line. In his mind he was also counting the line in Spanish to practice his numbers.
"Yup, just like that." Nat said from behind Steve and she looked over at Barton and pointed to the ceiling. Barton nodded, a grin on his face.
Rogers dropped to the next line following the block that was running across the screen in perfect horizontals. It was kind of calming and then out of nowhere came this extremely loud blood curdling terrifying scream and the screen changed to large image of a ghostly tortured lady who's hands were reaching out of the screen at him like she was going to grab him. She was all over the screen and somehow it felt like she was going to grab him.
"AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-!" Steve's hands came up like he was going to block her grab and defend himself while he screamed on top of his lungs and backed away so fast that he bumped the back of his leg against the thick glass table supported by fancy wood that probably cost thousands of dollars and before he knew it he was falling backwards all 280 pounds. He's been hitting the gym a little too hard.. put on almost forty pounds of muscle.
The two spies watched as if in slow motion, their laughter slowly turning into shock then before they even knew it Steve was falling backwards. Steve smashed thought the glass and the wood and ended on his back with the loudest crash. There was a yelp then a grunt, it hurt like hell and then the wind pushed out of his lungs in a whoosh and his eyes fluttered shut against his will. The dumb glasses still on his face, but all crooked.
Down in the Lab
Bruce and Tony worked in the same lab but separately, Tony was working on making Natasha lighter magazines for her pistols and Banner was still working on the same equation after weeks of working on making Steve painkillers that would help with the way his metabolism is.
Then there was a loud scream, faded, probably from the tv.
Stark and Banner stopped, exchanged a look, and went back to their work.
Then another scream, definitely from Steve.
Bruce picked up his head and tilted his head, slight confusion on his face.
Tony just grinned to himself. He knew now that that was probably why Clint was asking him to record. He turned to his phone he left on open and typed in "Good one" really quickly and the second he pressed sent there was a loud crashing sound. He stopped, straightened up, away from the table and turned to look at Bruce who wore the same worried expression he did before they both bolted out the lab and up the stairwell.
"Steve..?"
This had gone bad really fast. She did not expect Steve to pass out let alone fall and smash the table with his body! Now he had little nicks and was bleeding from various places. Natasha was quick to snatch those glasses off his face before anyone else came in on them.
"You're so dead, Nat.." Barton mumbled while he reached to check Steve's pulse again, he was all awkward in the rubble but didn't want to move Steve incase he had a neck injury.
"Its just much a your fault!" She was rubbing at his cheek to get him to wake up. This was the only spot on his body she could reach that didn't have little pieces on glass all over. With the way Steve was uncomfortably sprawled out with his back at an angle and his arms wide open, it was impossible to move him really until he woke himself. "Wake up buddy, this wasn't supposed to happen.." She spoke softly, guilty.
"What in the hell is going on?" Tony's voice came from the door to the left of the elevator he barged in from. His eyes fell on Natasha who was on her tippy toes crouched beside Barton, from his point of view behind the couch it just looked like they were probably collecting whatever they broke until Tony came closer followed by Bruce and immediately looked beyond shocked at what they saw. "Oh my god.."
"He fell." Natasha immediately blurted out. Barton squinted his eyes at her, she could've done better.
"He fell on a glass table supported by world's most sturdy wood worth twenty thousands dollars and he is unconscious?" The philanthropist stated as he neared some more and crouched down to take a look at the super soldier who was still out cold.
"Seriously, what the heck did you guys do.. Are you trying to kill him?" Bruce was /not/ happy. He was immediately doing doctor things and asking Barton and Tony to help him lift the soldier after checking his neck for injuries. Banner directed them to lay him on the couch on his stomach and Natasha was immediately there with her shoes on and sweeping the glass away so Banner could properly work and check Steve who seemed to be fine, asleep like, but Barton said that his heartbeat was too fast still. From the scare probably, she thought. God.. she was going to pay for this in so many favors, probably mostly getting him his favorite Frappuccino and helping his with his Spanish homework. She felt so guilty.. and she hated teaching languages!
"Steve, hey there big guy.. c'mon, show me your eyes." Banner had worked Steve out of his shirt somehow super fast. The small cuts were very visible now that all of them had started bleeding, little tiny bubbles of blood pushing out of them. Steve's cheek stayed pressed to the couch and he stayed unconscious. Barton had grabbed a bag from somewhere and the wood pieces were now gone, big glass pieces were disappearing next. This was going to be a bad weekend for Steve..
TBC?
I'm going to cut that off right there. Not really comfort there, just hurt and fun-ish. Y'mm want the comfort or is it good?
