"What were you thinking, Raito-kun?"

L hunched over the said teen with curiosity. At least at this rate, it is more about curiosity than suspicion, especially given the fact that it was all of his doing. He started it anyway. Although L could have made it worse along the way.

"What do you mean, Ryuuzaki?" Raito tilted his head to face the detective, doing his best attempt at looking innocent. It was hard to do so at the moment, with those black hollow eyes examining every part of his body. He tried meeting those eyes as best as he could but it was quite a challenge with him being bound from head to foot, lying in the cold concrete floor in his dimly lit cell. He averted his attention from the long pale feet just inches away from his head, and instead try to get a read on what the other was thinking. It was a futile attempt.

"Normally suspects do not just offer themselves so freely like this", L continued watching him, one finger in his mouth. "You could have enjoyed your freedom for a bit longer."

L continued staring at him as he struggled on the floor.

"Are you a masochist, Raito-kun?"

"So what if I am?" Light tried to argue. "Does it have anything to do with the case?"

"That would explain this kind of behaviour, Raito-kun." L concluded as he continued to gaze at Light. At this point it felt like he was silently peering into his soul.

"You are just as stubborn as your father", he said softly.

"Huh? What did you say?" Light could barely hear what L was saying.

"This kind of behaviour is not a good trait to have, Raito-kun", he purposely said in a louder voice.

Light smirked.

"Perhaps", he admitted. "But you like this kind of behaviour, don't you, Ryuuzaki?"

"Oh, are you teasing me, Raito-kun?" L moved closer. "This makes you more suspicious of being Kira"

"I don't know about that, but…" Light thought for a moment. "You did plant those cameras in my room"

"That does not matter, Raito-kun"

"And you followed me to my University to hang out with me" Light went on. "Makes me feel like you are way interested in me than you would like to let out"

"I was suspecting you of being Kira, Raito-kun."

"Did you like me wearing shorts, Ryuuzaki?"

L did not answer.

"You can just admit it," the teen continued. "I know that no one is watching right now"

L remained silent.

"The task force can't work this late without sacrificing their sanity, and the fact that you are here makes me think that Watari is not looking at surveillance right now" Light rambled on. "You wouldn't be here if you're not interested in me, you know."

"I came to see if you need assistance, Raito-kun" L finally spoke. "It is a significant amount of time since I saw you fall on the floor, and you might catch a cold."

L gently prodded Light's back with his foot.

"I did not expect that this situation is to your liking, after all."

In an all too sudden motion, Light flipped over and bended a bit, licking L's foot. L quickly moved away, immediately regretting what he did beforehand.

L proceeded to open the door.

"Wait, I'm sorry" Light backpedalled. "I do need assistance after all."

L closed the door again and locked it.

"Good night, Raito-kun", he firmly answered and left the room completely, not looking back to check on anything.

"Damn it", Light muttered as he struggled to get back to his makeshift bed.

Ryuuk on the other hand, just watched silently as the whole scene happened, his mouth gaped open the whole time. One look at him and Light can tell what the poor Shinigami was thinking.

"Humans are….interesting"
