"Raito, the cameras are off again"

Light let out a small laugh.

"Is this really part of your plan, Raito?"

"You know you can just watch quietly, Ryuuk" Light reminded him. "Or do you want me to let go of the death note prematurely?"

Ryuuk possibly could have blushed at that point, if Shinigami are capable of doing that kind of thing.

It has been an awkward first start. Light must admit that he got on too strong with the detective on that first night. He thought that given L's past actions he would appreciate his efforts to make the first move that time. But L is surprisingly as predictable as they come. He needed that control. He was very much like him in a way.

"I'm just gonna sit here quietly then"

Light could hear a little excitement in that voice, like when he was about to give him a basket of apples. Is it possible that Ryuuk has been looking forward to these meetings? That is very interesting.

"Oh, here he comes"

Sure enough, a soft shuffling of feet can be heard approaching his cell.

"It's been a while, Ryuuzaki" Light greeted. "I take it they are all gone for the day?"

"I have assigned them to work on different points of interest in the investigation" L answered. "On different locations as you have perceived, Raito-kun"

He opened the cell and entered, like usual.

"And you are right to assume that I gave them take an early night off, even Watari" he added. "I think they need it if what I think is correct"

"What were you thinking"

"That we are about to get on a long, pointless and excruciatingly painful investigation going forward, Raito-kun" L truthfully answered. "I don't know what you are thinking but that is what I feel"

"And I thought you are incapable of emotions"

"I am still human, Raito-kun"

L put a hand on Light's face, looking at him directly in the eye. Light did not flinch.

"That's good to hear" he looked directly back. "At least I know that my feelings are being answered"

"You should really stop this, Raito-kun"

"Stop what?"

"It does not work on me as much as you are hoping to"

"Does it, really?" Light retorted. "You have been visiting me every night since I got here"

"I just want to see you up close. It might drive the investigation further"

"How are you finding the 'investigation' so far?"

"It is not going anywhere, Raito-kun"

Light found an opening and pecked L on the cheek. L backed away instinctively.

"We could get this somewhere, you know?" Light licked his lips

L just stared at him.

"I highly doubt it, Raito-kun"

But L moved closer to Light and proceeded to kiss him, holding Light's head as it turns into another full blown make-out session, just like before.

Exactly as Light planned.

"You never cease to amaze, Raito", Ryuuk thought to himself as he watched the whole spectacle unfold before him, with each new day the two have been taking it further and further.

From just kissing on one day, to clothes being tossed aside on the next, going all the way.

And at that point Ryuuk discovered something new about himself.

He liked watching.
