The next day Kouga was playing tennis, as he was playing there were a lot of people there mainly women to watch Kouga play. The ball went over to Kouga's side. It went a little bit too far and both he and the ball went into the people. Many women placed their handkerchiefs in any pockets or space they could find.

As Kouga was getting most of the hankies out of the pockets and any other place he could find, he went back to the court and waited for his partner to serve. When his partner pointed to behind him where the ball was, it was then that Kouga noticed that Kikyo was holding the ball. Kouga went over to her to get the ball back, "You are looking well, Kikyo" Kikyo gives Kouga the ball and says "You're welcome to look, your Highness"

"Yes, well after the game would your family like to go on a walk with me?"

"I would be delighted your Highness"

Kouga then goes back to his game.

With Kagome, Kanna and Kade they had a small stall in the main town. They did try to sell fruits, vegies, flowers and anything else they could sell.

Around the connour came a man with long black hair and a mean look in eyes. He was dressed in high status clothes to show others of his wealth. He knows where he wants to head, so he goes over to the little stall that Kagome, Kanna and Kade have.

"Well if it isn't Kagome Higurashi, you get prettier every week"

Kagome looked to this man "And you Mr Naraku are wasting your time"

Naraku grabs some of Kagome's hair "It's a pity your soil's the best in the province... and yet so poorly tended" he says as he tries to smell some of the hair he got. Kade and Kanna come over to help Kagome out, as she gets her hair back and moves away from Naraku.

"We have limited resources, sir we do what we can with what we have" said Kanna, Naraku looks over to them and asks, "Anything I can do?" "You could bring it up with the Baroness and stick to shopping" said Kade

Naraku walks over to where Kagome is "I would rather discuss it with Kagome if you don't mind, I may be twice your age child, but I'm well-endowed, as evidenced by my estate" Naraku reaches for Kagome's face and caresses her cheek with his fingers "I've always had a soft spot for the less fortunate. You need someone like me to tame you and I need a young lady with spirit" Kagome moves her face away from Naraku "Would like some apples?" as she holds up two apples "No, I shall buy nothing from you this week, and you best remember without me buying anything no one will and then... who knows what will happen to your little farm" said Naraku as he left the marketplace, The three women watched him leave. "Oh what a horrible man, if he didn't buy so many apples each week I would punch him square in the face" said Kanna

On the other side of the market Kouga and Kikyo were walking through talking about little things. Sango and Kagura and a few guards were behind them. One of the Prince's attendants came up to him with a metal container. Kouga opens it and says "Here" to Kikyo "What is it?" asks Kikyo, "Never have you ever tasted anything so... delicious" said Kouga

Kikyo opens her mouth and closes her mouth waiting for Kouga to give her what he is asking her to try. Kouga looks around not really sure what to do. He then gets a small piece of something brown into her mouth. As Kikyo tastes this new object she lets out a very pleased sound. Hearing this Sango goes to try some of this object as well, but her mother stops her.

"Well Kikyo? Do you like it?" ask Kouga

"Like it? It's simply sinful... What is it?"

"It's chocolate, we get it from the Spanish monks. They keep sending bricks of it"

As they are walking, they get closer to the stall where Kagome, Kanna and Kade are working. "Up ahead is our little stall. Our servants should be there. Would your Highness like to meet them?"

Kouga looks happy "Oh really! I would love to meet them yes" Both Kanna and Kade see them walking towards them. They both stop working and don't know what to do "Good day ladies" said Kouga as he walks to the middle of the stall. Kagome finally looks up and sees Kouga and throws a chicken that she was holding up in the air and Kanna and Kade come over to where Kagome was standing as she runs away. As the chicken falls down it spooks Kouga. As he turns away, Kagura comes into the stall.

"Just what are you two doing? Are trying to scare the Prince to death!?" she yells

"We are sorry, we just got startled that's all, we didn't mean to scare anyone" said Kanna

Kouga looks at the two women and asks, "Were there just the two of you?"

Kanna nods "And the chicken, your Highness"

"I see, well it's a nice stall you have here Kikyo, but I must go now, it is getting late" said Kouga

"Of course, your Highness" said Kikyo and courtesies as do both Sango and Kagura.

Later that night back at Kagome's house, Kagome is placing logs onto Kagura's fire as Kagura is getting ready to go to sleep for the night. "We must press for a quick engagement. Pairs? Paris? at Christmas, could you imagine?" Kagura ask Kagome as she sits on the bed. Kagome looks over to Kagura and smiles at her. Kagura has a disappointed look on her face as she realises whom she is talking to.

"No, I don't suppose you can" Kagura gets up from her bed and comes over to a chair to sit down on so Kagome can brush her hair. " My mother was hard on me as well. She taught me that cleanliness was next to godliness" Kagome wipes her hands on the apron that she was wearing. She then starts to brush Kagura's hair. "One of the things she did was to make sure my face was clean by teaching me to clean my face at least twenty times a day and even then my face was not clean enough" Kagura had a look on her face of regret and sadness. " I was very grateful to her. She did want me to be to all that I could be, and now here I am... a baroness and my Kikyo shall be Queen" Kagura grabs Kagome's hand from behind her to make Kagome sit in front of her so she could look at Kagome. As

she looks at Kagome she says "It is a pity you never knew your mother, there must be some of her in you somewhere"

Kagome looks down sad "I just wish I knew what she looked like" Kagura has a small look of sympathy even though it was for a second "Well, we must never feel sorry for ourselves must we?"

Kagome shakes her head no "No matter how bad thigs get, they can always get worse" Kagura says

"Yes ma'am"

Kagura looks into Kagome's eyes "You have so much of your father in you. Sometimes I can almost see him looking out through your eyes." This makes Kagome smile "Really?" "Yes... well... your features are so masculine... to be raised by a man...no wonder you are built for hard labour"

"Did you love my father?" ask Kagome, Kagura thinks over this question "Well, I barely knew him... Now go away I'm tired"

Kagome nods and leaves to go to her room to sleep.

The neat morning while doing some chores around the castle Kagome found an object in the trees. She remembered that Jinenji had an object like this. So when she got it out of the tree and went to a field close by with her friend Inuyasha who likes to practice his swordsmanship skills.

Kagome is using Jinenji' s object which was a kite. She has managed to get it flying. As she watches it fly in the sky she calls out to Inuyasha "Look, Inuyasha it's flying" While practicing with his sword Inuyasha looks over to Kagome "Why are you so happy? If the Prince and Kikyo get married, you will become their servant?"

"I don't know why it bothers you so. I couldn't care less"

"You're lying! The Prince would be your brother-in-law... And you Rumiko Takashi would be bringing them breakfast in bed"

Inuyasha turned around and continued with his swordsmanship "But they would move into the palace...and I could stay in the manor and turn things around. Make it great again like I know my father would have wanted that"

"You like him. Admit it"

"Inuyasha! Be series I do not!"

Just then Inuyasha sees a group of horses come out of the forest coming towards them. In the lead he saw that it was the Prince. Inuyasha stopped what he is doing and tries to stop a shocked look on his face from coming on but falls and he spits out "and I... I suppose if you saw him again... you would say..."

Kagome not knowing what is going on is still flying her kite "I would simply walk up to him and say... 'Your Highness, my family is your family, Please, take them away."

Inuyasha is watching the horses get closer and closer "Good because that's him on the horse and he is coming this way" Kagome stops what she is doing and looks to where Inuyasha is looking and she starts to panic. She starts to look for somewhere to hide. She sees a big pile of hay that she could hide behind. So she runs over to that pile before the Prince gets there. Not seeing Kagome Prince Kouga rides up to Inuyasha to question Inuyasha about Jinenji for he has gone off and Kouga wants to find him.

"I'm looking for Jinenji, have you seen him?"

"Mr Jinenji? ... No your highness" said as he bows to Kouga, Kouga looks over to the pile of hay and sees the kite that Jinenji had made "Is that not Jinenji's object?"

As Kagome hears this she looks down to her hands and sees that she is still holding the kite, so in a panic she lets go of the kite. Kouga continues to question Inuyasha "Where did you get it?"

Inuyasha struggles to answer "From er... Rumiko Takahashi... She is a friend of his" Kouga looks at Inuyasha in surprise and asks "You know her! Please I must see her, do you know where she is staying?"

Inuyasha was not expecting this "Er... I think she is staying with a cousin of your highness... Baroness Kagura"

Kouga does not want to deal with either Kagura or Kikyo "Well that does present a problem" said Kouga, Inuyasha thinks this is a perfect time to help out Kagome "But... I believe your Highness... that Rumiko Takahashi is alone by herself... at this very moment!" he said loudly so that Kagome could hear this as well.

Kouga looked very pleased with this information. "Excellent, nice sword" said Kouga as he rides off towards Kagome's house.

As soon as they are out of sight Kagome comes over to Inuyasha. She was so mad at Inuyasha for what he had said. "Inuyasha, I can't believe you said that you are such a Baka!"

Inuyasha not really caring about Kagome "Calm down, Kagome just admit you like him, he is also on the way to your house, so I suggest you run home"

Both Kagome and Inuyasha share a smile and she runs towards her house. Luckily, she arrived in enough time to get changed into more high-class clothes. Just as she finished, she heard a knock at the front door. Kagome opened her door and saw Kouga and a few attendants and a horse and carriage.

"Your Highness... what an unexpected surprise" Kagome says with a smile.

"Why Takahashi do you not attend church?"

"My faith is better served away from the rabid crowd"

"Well, yes I'm afraid my father's edict has created quite a... phenomenon... That is why I am bound for the monastery, they have a great library, I was hoping that you might want to join me?"

"It is not fair sire, you have found my weakness and yet I have not found yours" said Kagome, Kouga leans in to whisper "I would think that was quite obvious" Kouga leans back and they both share a smile, Kouga turns to Ginta "Captain, Ginta I shall not need your horse today, today... I'm simply Kouga" Kouga takes Kagome's hand and leads her to the carriage so they can be on their way...
