A/N I DON'T OWN INUYASHA OR EVER AFTER

Kagome ran back to the manor before Kikyo and Kagura got back. Neither let on that they knew about Kagome at least not yet. However, when Kikyo went to look for the dress she could not find it anywhere. That was the last straw for Kagura and Kikyo; they stormed off to find Kagome to give her a piece of their minds… Once they found her "Of all the insidious things you could have done, but making your mother a Comtesse" said Kagura yelling at Kagome

"It's almost as absurd as a prince frequenting a servant who sleeps with pigs," said Kikyo in a snide voice. Kagome looked between both Kikyo and Kagura. Kagome could not hold it anymore she had had enough "What bothers you more stepmother? That I am common, or that I am competition?" she said in an angry voice.

"Where is the dress, Kagome?" said Kikyo

"I don't know what you're talking about"

"The gown… the slippers? They were in my room this morning and now they are gone… you hid them, I know it!" Kikyo continued

"Where are the candlesticks, the paintings and everything else that has gone…. Perhaps the dress is with them"

"Enough!" shouted Kagura "You will produce that gown at once"

"I would rather die a thousand deaths then see my mother's dress on that spoiled, selfish cow!" Kagome said with a few tears in her eyes, slightly regretting what she said.

"Perhaps we can arrange that," said Kagura as she grabs Kagome's hand and drags her through the manor. Kagome and the others know not how to stop her. Kagura finds a small room with some of their food and other stock. As she opens the door she threw Kagome in the room and locked the door and turned to the others "Open this door… and you'll wish you never set foot here" said Kagura as she turns to her daughters "Come ladies, gather everything we can sell, we're going to town tomorrow" As Kagura starts to leave Sango tried to calm her mother "Mother… it's only a ball" Kagura looked at Sango up and down in disgust "Yes, and you're only going for the food" she then walked away to get objects to sell. Tonight, was the night of the ball.

With the Queen and Kouga they are talking in the gardens; the Queen had some terrible news for her son

"Engaged!?... To a Belgian?" said Kouga as he heard the news that his mother had told him about Kagome. Kouga started to walk away but he still wanted to hear what his mother had to say "I'm afraid so my dear" said the Queen

"There has to be some mistake" said Kouga trying to control his anger "She was travelling by boat this afternoon, Baroness Kagura was quite reluctant to talk about it" said the Queen

"If she were to be married, she should have told me!" said Kouga. The Queen then walked up to him and tried to comfort Kouga by caressing his cheek "Oh my son, would you have listened?"

"I don't know how I could be so blind?" asked Kouga "There I was, pouring my heart out… and she was simply trying to say goodbye" The Queen took her sons hands in hers " It is a strong woman who can keep her wits about her…. And with you trying to steal her heart"

Kouga walked away to get some space "Yes…. And what a clumsy thief I turned out to be" he then storms off. The Queen calls out to her son "Come now, Kouga any choice is better than Spain"

While Kikyo, Sango and Kagura were shopping Totosai met up with Inuyasha to tell him the news about Kagome and they were trying to come up with a plan to help her.

"Go to the Prince, tell him what has happened" said Totosai

"How could I do that, I'm nobody. The Prince would never see me" said Inuyasha, Totosai made sure that nobody was watching them, and he could still see the three women. "You are her friend, Inuyasha… Kagome needs your help now more than ever"

"I would but my master has me working tonight"

"Then go to Mr Jinenji, surely you could go to him?"

"Feh…. Fine old man"

That night before the ball Inuyasha went near the palace and looked for a knight to steal their clothes so he could get past everyone without being questioned. Once he did, he knocked the knight out and went to the party. There were servants around getting ready for the party. Inuyasha asked one of the servants where Mr Jinenji was, and they pointed to Mr Jinenji in a far-off area. Inuyasha walked up to him feeling nervous about meeting him. He summoned enough courage to talk to him…

Back with Kagura, Sango and Kikyo… They were ready to leave. As they were coming down the stairs... Kikyo had a dark blue dress with dark blue feathers. She had a golden band on the top of her face that had three peacock feathers. She also had a golden face mask… Kagura had a dark black dress with bits of gold through it. She had a black mask that only would cover her eyes. Both Kikyo's and Kagura masks could be held up with a stick. Sango had a dark green dress with a bit of black through it. Her face was covered with a mask that was made into a horse mask.

"I wanted to be the peacock" said Sango

"Sango, the horse is one of Kami's noblest creatures" said Kagura as they reached the front door, Sango was getting angry "Why don't I just pull the carriages while I'm at it!"

"If you can get us there faster then I'm all for it" said Kagura. Sango just huffed and walked to the carriage and went to sit down and once Kagura sat down as well the three of them were on their way to the ball. Once they had gone Kaede and Kanna were trying to get Kagome out of the storage room.

"Oh, mistress… it's no use!" They both let out a gasp when they heard "Allow me" They turned and saw a man and Inuyasha behind them. The man went to the door and used one of his tools on the edge of the door where the screws were and got them out of the door and he opened the door.

"That was amazing" said Kanna, the man turned to them "Yes, I shall go down in history as the man who opened the door"

Inuyasha and the others all walked into the storage room. Once Kagome saw them, she ran up to Inuyasha and gave him a big hug "Oh Inuyasha thank you" she said

"Totosai said the Prince was expecting you," said Jinenji. Kagome looked over to Jinenji with a sad look "He is expecting someone who does not exist… Mr Jinenji my name is Kagome... and I am a mere servant"

"And I am the bastard son of a peasant, but what does that matter"

Kagome looked down "But I have lied to him"

"My dear… the Prince will understand… now the night is still young, and we must get ready for the ball."

"I should not go" she said

"Then the Baroness wins. He devours the truth from the women that he loves"

"A bird may love a fish, but where would they live?"

"Worry not my lady… I shall make you wings"

"Ooh come on! No time to waste… Kanna, get the dress!" said Kaede as they all left to get Kagome ready
