A/N Hello there. I had so much fun writing this chapter, and I adored writing from Ginny's point of view! Please let me know if you have any suggestions or your thoughts. Thank you to everyone who has reviewed it means a lot and I love hearing what you think. And just so you know the asterisks mean the POV is changing. Happy reading!

Chapter 6

That night the four of them headed off to detention, Hermione looked angry instead of scared like the rest of them. Ginny wasn't really sure what to expect, just that there was going to be some sort of showdown between Harry, Snape, and Draco. Which, to be honest was probably going to get ugly. As they walked to the dungeons Hermione kept shooting Draco angry looks, although he hadn't done anything. It was odd, Hermione disliked Draco sure, but she didn't really hate him that much. At least she hadn't used to anyway. They stopped once they arrived at Snape's office.

"Remember." Hermione started. "Be as nasty as possible Malfoy. And Harry if you could look kind of pathetic to see if that gets Snape on edge."

"We know." groaned Draco. Hermione shot him a look to rival one of Snape's. Harry looked rather queasy.

"You alright?" she asked him quietly.

"Uhm, I guess. But I'm not really sure I want to know why Snape's been acting all weird." Harry said. Ginny wasn't sure she wanted to know either. The door flew open and the four of them jumped back in surprise. Snape motioned for them to come inside. There was an array of papers all over the floor and Ginny suppressed a groan. Old homework sorting by the looks of it.

"Sort each one by year and put it in the correct file." He snapped, then going back to his desk where more papers awaited him. There had to be hundreds of papers littered about. Ginny wondered if he'd unorganized all of this just for them. Seemed like something Snape would do. The normal Snape. Together they began the slow process of sorting each one by year. After a few minutes Ginny wondered when Draco would start to bully Harry. She was rather excited now, sorting papers was terribly boring. A couple more minutes went by and Ginny saw Hermione elbow Draco. Reluctantly he went over to Harry and sort of pushed him on his way over to one of the stacks. Ginny resisted the urge to smack her palm to her forehead. Harry pretended to stumble and trip, but ended up accidentally knocking Hermione over. She landed with an umph and glared at Harry and Draco. She could see Draco searching for something nasty to say.

"Clumsy Potter. Always…" Draco trailed off and his cheeks became tinged with pink. He seriously couldn't come up with anything? Of all times he had to run out of words now?

"Tripping up other people." Ginny thought she heard Snape snort from the corner.

"Oh yeah Malfoy!" Harry said, obviously trying to look angry. He was shaking, like he was trying to hold back laughter. Keep it together Harry, Ginny silently willed.

"Your always looking stupid!" Harry fumbled for words. Hermione and Ginny met each other's eyes. This wasn't going as planned at all. Draco looked confused for a second before yelling,

"Don't provoke me Potter!"

"Watch me!" Harry looked at Draco for a second before yelling. "You use too much makeup!" Oh Harry what are you doing?

"Oh yeah! At least I make an effort to look nice!" Draco shot back.

"I don't have to make an effort unlike you." Snapped Harry.

"Have you even looked in the mirror lately." Draco sneered. "You have something right there!" He pointed to Harry's forehead where his lightning bolt scar was.

"Uh, well look over there." He pointed behind Draco. He looked over his shoulder and Harry smacked him upside the head. Hard.

"Ow!" Draco whirled back around and looked around for something to throw at him. Seizing a book he chucked it at Harry but he ducked in time.

"Potter! Malfoy!" Snape was standing. "Get back to work!" The four of them glanced at each other. Was he going to slip up? They didn't move, staring intently at the professor.

"Now!" he yelled. They hurried back to sorting papers. That hadn't gone as planned but it certainly had been interesting. A thought came to Ginny and she stopped sorting papers. What if whatever Snape was hiding had been written down? She was a bloody genius! Now she just had to get Snape out of here.

"What is it?" whispered Harry, bending down to her.

"You three have to leave before me and get Snape out there." she whispered back.

"What are you planning?"

"You'll see."

"Potter and Weasley stop flirting and get back to work!" Snape yelled. Ginny blushed but made no move to step away from Harry.

"Okay." He said, a smile playing on his lips. After their hour was up Harry, Hermione, and Draco left and Ginny stayed behind.

"Can I help you Miss Weasley?" Snape asked, looking annoyed.

"Yes actually, I found this paper of mine while we were sorting and I really think I should've gotten a better grade." That was a lie, she had spent a grand total of 15 minutes working on that essay but she wasn't about to tell him that. Snape grabbed it from her and looked at it.

"This doesn't even matter anymore." he snapped.
"Stop it!" screamed Hermione from right outside Snape's office. "The both of you stop it right now!" Snape stood up hastily.

"I'll be right back." he growled. She nodded trying to contain her excitement. She really was a bloody genius. The second he was out the door she was behind his desk opening drawers searching for… she didn't even know. His diary? She came across a locked drawer and hastily muttered, "Alohomora." She yanked but it didn't budge. Dammit. Was there a key or something? She desperately looked under his desk for a key, praying that Snape didn't come back in. She spotted a necklace looking thing on his chair. She grabbed it, it was the key. She thrust it into the locked drawer and yanked it open. There was a lone paper and as quickly as she could she shoved it in her robes, locked the drawer, and put the necklace back on the chair. She practically ran back to where she'd been standing. Snape walked back in the moment she'd gotten back to her spot. Her heart was pounding.

"Can we discuss this after class tomorrow?" asked Snape. She nodded and fled the room with the secret paper in her pocket. She came to find a sopping wet Harry and a disgusted looking Draco. And a giggling Hermione.

"What the bloody hell happened to you two?" she asked.

"You don't want to know." Draco muttered darkly. Hermione started to laugh harder.

"Uh, well I found this." said Ginny holding up the paper she now realized was a letter.

"Oh my god Ginny." Harry breathed. "Did you look through his desk?"

"Yep." said Ginny proudly. Hermione stopped laughing.

"What does it say?" she asked.

"We can't read it here!" Draco snapped.

"Lower your voice." hissed Hermione.

"Don't tell-"

"Lets go to the common room." said Harry.

"But I want to know what it says too." Draco complained.

"Well as you were absolutely no help whatsoever you'll just have to wait till morning." Hermione declared. Draco looked annoyed.

"Fine." He stalked off and the three of them hurried to the Gryffindor common room. The Fat Lady swung open and they threw themselves into some arm chairs.

"What does it say?" Hermione asked again. With trembling fingers Ginny opened the letter.

"It's from Harry's mum." She breathed. "To Snape."

"My dearest Severus," Ginny began.

I know I should have told you this from the beginning. But it was a mistake like I told you and I didn't want to complicate things. I used the illior vexorgio charm to hide anything that would give it away." Hermione gasped and Harry shushed her.

"James doesn't suspect anything and hopefully he never will. I need you not to say anything once you find out. I'm only telling you this in case we die and Harry is left alone. I know he has Sirius but… I'll just come out and say it. Your Harry's father-" Ginny broke off horrified. What the actual frick. This couldn't be real. Harry was looking straight ahead, looking revolted.

"Snape and my mum?" He shuddered. Hermione looked like she was going to pass out.

"Oh my god." she muttered.

"But why is he only acting different now?" Ginny wondered aloud.

"He must have just found or gotten the letter." Hermione murmured. Ginny wanted to ask Harry if he was okay but that was probably a stupid question.

"What's the illior vexorgio charm?" Harry asked. He was very pale, Ginny noticed.

"It makes babies look like their parents." Hermione said. Harry buried his face in his hands. Without thinking Ginny went over and wrapped her arms around him. He wasn't crying, just whispering swear words under his breath. That was Harry.

"Oh Harry." sighed Hermione. He wrapped his arms around Ginny.

"Thanks for being a genius." he whispered. She grinned.

"Anytime."

That night Harry lay in bed listening to Ron snore. Snape was…Harry couldn't think about it. His mum had had an affair with Snape.

"Bleh." he muttered to himself. He didn't know what to feel. This was why he'd gotten rid of his feelings. He wanted to scream and throw things like he had last year in Dumbledore's office. Wait a second. Harry flew up in his bed. Dumbledore had said that he needed to go back to the Dursleys because of the blood bond or whatever. And Snape was… immediately Harry cursed himself. There was no way Snape could be any better than the Dursleys. They sucked, and hated him but… Snape loathed him. Especially after the whole pensieve thing. He groaned and fell back into his pillows. How was he supposed to act now that he knew? Snape was getting back to normal, well not really actually. Hermione had cursed Malfoy with some weird spell that made him vomit spit and he'd vomited all over Harry. It had dried by the time they were back in the common room but still. Snape had witnessed Draco vomit spit and then Harry jump on his back and slide off. Harry really hadn't known what to do. They were usually rather good at being nasty to each other. But Harry had a feeling Draco was part of the reason Harry was back to normal and they could no longer be mean to each other. It didn't feel right. Snape had stood there for a moment before telling the two of them to get a grip. He usually would've said something much nastier. And he didn't just pick on Harry this time.

"What do I do?" he groaned into his pillow.

"So pretty Pansy." Ron was muttering.

"Ugh!" Harry was never going to get any sleep at this rate.

Snape was in a panic. The letter Lily had sent him was gone. It wasn't in the drawer or anywhere else. He always kept the key on his neck there was no way anyone could've gotten in. He threw himself onto his chair and sighed. Who would care anyway? The old bimbo had probably found it. Lately Dumbledore had been in a panic because he couldn't seem to "find the right moment" to summon Harry to his office and tell him everything he needed to know. Dumbledore insisted that Harry needed more time to heal after Sirius, but from what Severus had seen he was back to normal. The circles were gone and he looked happy. Or so he assumed.

"Oh Lily what am I going to do?"
