As the blackened sky opened to the vastness of space, two beings stood locked in a near endless cycle of battle. Kurtz, Apostle of the Abyss… and Perceros, Hierophant of the Gods. Their endless strife had crushed the ground they stood on, and had started to crack the planet in two.

Again and again their blades would collide as their strife continued on, and for years it has been like this across most of the Orion Arm. This time however, it was different.

A metallic clang echoed as their blades collided again, and then it happened. A giant burst of light flew out of the sky, engulfing the two men. It ripped at their armor, and burned at their skin. It was like this light was erasing the very atoms that made them. With a blink of an eye, Kurtz and Perceros were transported millions of lightyears away to Earth, to a Small seduction of Tokyo-3 to be exact, neither knight knew how they would now play a part in humanity's salvation.

"All it was supposed to be was a simple synchronization test for the Simulation systems!" Ritsuko frantically spoke.

"Yeah well all this magically went awry Ritz!" Misato shot back. Both women were confused as to what exactly had happened in this test. It wasn't supposed to malfunction and here it was fucking up again.

"Umm, We've got a pattern blue!" Maya yelled.

"Whatever it is, it's in the Magi now!" Aoba and Hyuga shouted in unison

"What?!" Misato and Ritsuko responded, overpowering the ringing of a certain Red Phone. Slowly, Misato looked at Ritsuko and nodded toward the phone, almost as if to ask if she was going to pick it up.

With little hesitation Ritsuko snatched the phone up and put it to her ear with a sigh. "I want this little incident cleaned up now. That will be all Doctor." The calm voice of Gendo Ikari shot through the phone's speaker. Fuck me, now he's on my ass, Ritsuko thought. She could feel the impatience coming from the Comadner's tone. She looked over, and realized something was off. The bridge crew was confused, they weren't reacting to the fact an Angel had just interred the Magi.

"What are you three doing? Get to work!" Ritsuko said, signalling to their computers.

"Mam, I don't know how to say this, but the angel is gone. Completely vanished when this beam of life shot down onto the simulation systems… I couldn't detect anything from it at all, which is the worrying part." Hyuga stammered out.

"That's impossible, the Magi don't just randomly report in Pattern blues and say they've been breached by an angel, but nevermind that. You said this beam of light shot into the simulation systems? Pull all three pilots out now! Screen them for any contamination. Whatever this was, it wasn't a fluke."

"Well Mam, that's going to be a problem, all of the pilots seem to have been rendered unconscious by whatever that light was. I'm picking up high brain activity in both Shinji and Asuka, but not for Rei."

"Hyuga, all of this is a damn anomaly, so get them out of there! For the love of God just do your job." Ritsuko huffed before looking up to Misato for assistance.

"Rits none of this is good, or particularly normal. But at least the angel's gone." Misato sheepishly sighed.

"I have a grave feeling this is just the beginning…" Ritsuko solemnly responded.

Inside Plug One

What… happened? Shinji thought to himself. His head was foggy, and his head ached for no reason. He noticed that the comms had been shut off, and he was closed off even from Misato and Ritusko.

"Hey! Can anyone hear me?" Shinji yelled, and got no response from anyone. Until…

"You aren't going to get any response from them, they closed down the communications network." A voice spoke in Shinji's head

"W-who are you?!" Shinji yelped in surprise.

"My name is Kurtz, and you're Shinji Ikari."

"H-how do you know my name…?"

"Because I've been stuck in your head for around a half an hour Shinji. I know more about you than either of us would like. And by the way, stop talking out loud. While I can't read every thought of yours, I still exist outside of your head and I don't want to hear you twice."

"B-but.. If you're in my head, how can you see what's around me…?"

"Because I have a form that isn't limited to your headspace, except I seem to be stuck in an ethereal state. I'm stuck here or somewhere around you until I can find a way to fix that. No, I will not always be in your thoughts, and I know for sure I don't always want to be talking to you."

"O-oh… I, I'm sorry."

"The hell? Why the are you apologizing kid?"

"I just, feel bad you're stuck here with me…"

"Uhhh… Ok Shinji, not your fault so don't apologize." Kurtz spoke, and ended the conversation there. Jesus this kid's fuckin weird. Kurtz thought to himself. In all his years, he'd never met someone so spineless before, and it was just downright pathetic.

Kurtz snapped himself back, and realized something. Perceros had to have come with him. There was no way it only took him, so Kurtz decided to take a gamble.

"Hey kid, there any other pilots besides you?"

"W-well, there's Asuka and Rei, but as you know the connection's cut off.. So I can't talk to them."

"So there's three of you? Great, well since we're stuck here, tell me about'em. And quit fucking stammering."

"Well, Asuka's the second child. She came from Germany a few weeks ago, she took my room for some reason… and Mrs. Misato always takes her side on everything, saying I need to man up, and Asuka always calls me Baka Shinji, even when I've just tried being nice to her. At least sometimes she's nice to me back, but it's really rare when she is."

"So, this might sound revolutionary, but have you tried asking her why she's such a stuck up bitch?" Shinji went quiet for a bit, before finally responding. "No, I think she'd get mad at me if I did. I don't want to make her mad, because then she'll probably stop being nice to me. And Mrs. Misato said we need to be nice to each other if we want to work well as a team."

"Shinji, no one owes it to you to be kind to you. Putting up with Asuka's shit, isn't going to solve anything. Maybe try having an actual conversation with her, and not just slumping like you're doing now?"

Shinji didn't answer, and frankly Kurtz didn't care one bit. The kid was a temporary setback from his fight with Perceros, and that's all that mattered. His eternal fight would hopefully stop being eternal soon, and maybe, just maybe the kid would be an asset with his "Evangelion" or whatever the hell the kid piloted. Kurtz could tell, this was going to be a straining relationship. Even if he hated Perceros' entire being, Kurtz hoped Perceros got less of a pushover than he did.

Kurtz looked down in the plug, and the kid had somehow fallen asleep. He just hoped he could get out of this place soon, because this small tube was not the end of the mighty Apostle of the Void.

Inside Plug Two

Asuka rolled her eyes for what felt like the millionth time. She hated this, and she knew that pervert Shinji was probably being lewd in his plug, and the dumbass doll was probably being perfectly still. If only Kaji was here she wouldn't be bored or stuck in this Godforsaken plug, completely naked. Kaji would've come and saved her, but instead she got stuck with the evil purple haired bitch that was her Major and guardian. Asuka hoped Kaji hated that woman as much as she did, but recently she felt like Kaji had started to fall to Misato's whorish tricks.

"You shouldn't speak of your commanding officer like that" A soft voice said, and knocked Asuka out of her thoughts.

"Who the hell was that!?" Asuka replied, shocked that someone was speaking as she knew the comms were shut down. And besides, the only one to speak to her like that was the damned doll.

"Perceros is my name, and it's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Sohryu." The voice that identified itself as Perceros replied.

"Uhh, no need formalities… whoever you are." Asuka said with a gulp. Whatever this was, was making her extremely uncomfortable.

"Please don't be alarmed, I mean you no harm. In all honesty I don't know how long I've been here. But it seems I am stuck in here with you. And No, I have not been staring at you."

Asuka instinctively covered herself up, and blushed immediately. "Look away! I don't care if you haven't been staring anyways because I don't believe you!"

"I assure you, I have not been. But do know you aren't crazy, but I am here and do exist, and my soul seems to be stuck to you. So for now I feel we should strive to have positive interactions. Goodbye, I shall be here for you if you need me. One more thing, if you hear of a man named Kurtz, please let me know, we have been at odds with each other for eons, and if I am here, he is close by as well."

With that, Perceros' voice fell quiet, and Asuka could no longer feel anything off inside her plug. Holding herself, Asuka began to mumble to herself about what exactly just happened.

Misato trudged up and down behind the bridge cream desperately waiting for her charges to be released. She knew they must be bored out of their minds. And while she didn't see them as necessarily her children, she still had been living with them for over a month and had begun to care deeply about their wellbeing.

"Finally!" Ritsuko sighed

"What is it?" Misato said as she stopped and looked at her friend. Worry had begun to spread across her face.

"The Simulation systems are finally responding and are letting the plugs loose, and you know Misato, for someone who doesn't like kids, you're sure worried about those brats." Ritsuko said with a laugh. Misato blushed at this, but it didn't phase her too badly.

" Yeah yeah Cat lady I don't wanna hear it" Misato quipped back. Misato strutted forward to go see her charges, and knew they were fine when she could hear Asuka screaming. "STOP LOOKING BAKA!" Asuka was yelling at Shinji, as he ducked from one of her kicks. Misato could only sigh and laugh. It seemed everything would be ok after all.

Author's note: All Properties go to their respectful owners. I do not own Evangelion nor do I claim to own Evangelion, I simply came up with the idea for Kurtz and Perceros and this story.
