A/N Hey y'all. Guess whos back. Oh yeah thats right. Me. How are you guys doing? I'm pretty alright. Middle ish I suppose. Anyway. Sorry its been like 20 years since my last update. But I missed everyone! And I really missed writing! However school simply does not allow for a new chapter every week. So I have decided that I will be posting a new chapter monthly. And there is not going to be any set date for the chapter to be posted just when I get to it. So it could be at the beginning of the month or the end, guess we'll just have to seeeeeee. Okieeeee. Lets see here. I said we would find out what happened with Ginny and the blabbering curse but guess I lied oops. Maybe next time. This chapter is mainly told from Ginny's point of view cuz I want everyone to understand her thought process right now? U got me? Okay, what next. I know where I want to go with a portion of the plot but the other side is kinda fuzzy. I'll probably just make it up as I go along tbh. Anddddddd. Kissing is really fun to write but thats irrelevant. Have fun reading!

Disclaimer: I just realized I was supposed to do these. I don't own Harry Potter. Even though you probably guessed that. Okay next thing.

Thanks to everyone who reviews!

Literally I'm not even joking reviews motivate me to write SOOOOOOOOOO much.

Onward ;)

Chapter 27

Draco

Draco and Harry sat in a rather awkward silence before Hermione's voice broke through.

"You ruined the moment dummy."

"Ugh, no. You just ruined it by calling me dummy. If you hadn't said that they could've just kept talking and-"

"I thought I took the spell off." Draco could hear Hermione rolling her eyes.

"Hey uhm, guys." Harry called, clearing his throat. For a second no one moved or said anything, but then the curtain was drawn back by a pale hand. Ginny stood there and looked down at them.

"So...how about a game of chess?" she suggested, turning pink.

"Now is not the time for chess!" Hermione came next to her, stomping her feet. Draco's heart began to beat a little faster and he stood abruptly.

"Hermione…" he began, having no idea what he actually intended to say.

"I wanna play chess." Harry blurted. There was silence as everyone struggled to find something to say. Hermione opened and closed her mouth several times before saying,

"Look, we really need to talk about, well everything. It's not healthy-"

"Oh come on it's just a game of chess. We can talk after." Ginny said, turning to face Hermione.

"Well we won't end up talking after." Hermione said in a huff. Draco opened his mouth to reassure her that, yes, they could talk after. About what he wasn't really sure. Perhaps they could talk about...relationships. He stiffened. Relationships? Good Merlin where on earth had that come from. He wasn't a relationship kind of guy, but he wanted a relationship with-

"Draco!" Hermione snapped. His eyes snapped to hers.

"Yes?" He seriously considered saying "babe", but that probably would've earned him a slap to the face. Why was he even thinking about this when his parents had just died? When Lyra had? What was wrong with his brain?

"You're the tie breaker." she said.

"Oh, brilliant. For what?" he asked, feeling his cheeks warm.

"Dear God." Hermione turned her eyes to the ceiling.

"Whether we should play chess or talk." Harry said, who was now standing next to him.

"What are we supposed to talk about?" he asked. Hermione groaned.

"Exactly!" Ginny said. "We've listened to the adults talk enough. Let's do something for crying out loud!"

"Do something? Ginny-" Hermione opened her mouth then shut it abruptly. Unspoken words hung heavy in the air, like humid air clinging to skin. Ginny, Lyra is dead. And so are Draco's parents. All of us almost died a few days ago, one of us did die and now Voldemort is out there somewhere probably ready to find a new way to kill us all.

"Is there a cluster of nargles back here?" spoke Luna's dreamy voice. All four of them jumped.

"No, we were just…" Draco started.

"Playing chess." Ginny said quickly. Hermione shut her eyes and crossed her arms.

"With the nargles? I hear they make excellent partners once out of your brain." she smiled at them.

"Yeah, I'm sure they do. Uh, I'll get the chess board." Harry said, running a hand through his hair.

"I'll go with you." Ginny said. Both of them looked at each other a moment before Harry put an arm around her and they walked away. Luna glanced at Draco and Hermione.

"Where have you guys been?" she asked, tilting her head to one side.

"Been?" Hermione asked, her voice a higher pitch than normal.

"You know, since school started again after the castle was attacked." Luna said slowly.

"Oh, oh well. You see here that is a tricky question." Hermione glanced at him. She probably wanted his help in coming up with something. His brain was tad full at the moment, but surely he could think of something.

"We caught some disease." Draco said without blinking.

"You did…" Luna said. She stared at both of them. "Are you quite sure?" Shit. She didn't believe them. Of course she didn't. She was Luna, and always seemed to be everywhere and know everything about everyone-

"You don't still have it do you?" Luna asked him. Huh?

"What no, of course not. We're all better because we're standing here talking to you. So sorry Luna, we really must be going." Hermione said in a rush. She fumbled for his hand before grasping onto it and yanking out from behind the curtains.

"Oh, okay." Luna said. Draco winced.

"What is it?" Hermione whispered as they walked away.

"She sounded sad." he said.

"Awww, she did. Damn. We can apologize to her later." Hermione tugged him out of the library and into the corridor.

"Are we going to play chess?" he asked. Hermione glared at him.

"Right, sorry. Uh lead the way."

Ginny

It was like talking to a wall. No reception whatsoever. Harry was sitting at a chair in the common room just staring into the fireplace. This is what he did when he was in deep thought, she knew this. But would it really kill him to just tell her he was okay.

"Damn." she whispered. She must be incredibly stupid to think he could be okay right now. For Merlin's sake Lyra was dead and so were Draco's parents. Maybe they did need to talk.

"Ginny?" Harry spoke. She nearly fell off of the chair she was flopped on.

"What is it?"

"Do you know where Ron is?" he stared at her with green eyes.

"Ron, oh uhm he came by the hospital wing the other day. He's probably…" With Pansy? Maybe, or did he have a class right now?

"I'm not sure we can go look for him?" she suggested, her chest squeezing slightly.
"Yeah, that would be good." he said, getting up. She blinked quickly.

"Right, okay. Let's check the green house first." She looked down at their hands now only inches apart. She could close the gap in a second, but she didn't. Instead she tucked her hand inside her pocket and cleared her throat. This was dumb. Ron was Harry's best friend, of course he'd rather talk to him than her. Who was she? Just his girlfriend was bloody all.

Hermione

They better have not gone to play chess by themselves. Harry and Ginny were nowhere to be found. Actually no one was anywhere to be found. The common room was completely empty, not a single soul occupied any chairs or tables.

"Where is everyone?" Draco asked cautiously, glancing from left to right.

"I have no idea." she said under her breath. Harry and Ginny wouldn't just leave…that would be incredibly rude and inconsiderate considering the fact that Hermione and Ginny had done quite a lot to find Harry.

"Maybe they went to try and find us." Draco suggested.

"Maybe." she shook her head. "Come on, let's go back to the library, maybe they went back for us." Draco muttered something and her head snapped to him.

"What?"

He looked uncomfortable at his shoes for a long moment before replying. "Uhhh, well you know I just think you wanted to talk right?" A blush crept up his neck.

"Yes, that's what I said." she tilted her head.

"Okay so maybe I'm not Harry's best friend or anything, but I think there's a greater chance he'll talk to Ginny. Rather than uhm, well us two." he cleared his throat. Damnit. That was true, even though Harry was her best friend too. And so was Ginny. And hadn't the four of them grown closer over the time they spent...down there? So why couldn't all of them talk to each other?

"Right, then I have homework to do." She took a deep breath and turned back to face him.

"See you later?" Something flashed in Draco's eyes, but it was gone in mere seconds and she wondered if she had imagined it. There was a tightness in her chest but she dismissed it and gave Draco a quick smile before walking briskly to her dorm room.

Snape

Perhaps he should have found something productive to do. Like grade papers, or clean his room, maybe think of a way to talk to Draco. But no, he wasn't going to do any of that. He was going to sit in his classroom and move random things around because it was rather relaxing. And didn't require any thinking. He wasn't actually being productive but it sure felt like it.

"Severus!" shrieked a shrill voice. He nearly jumped out of his skin, quickly setting down a box he had no idea what was in.

"Minerva." he said, trying to keep his voice steady.

"Dumbeldore has just informed me about you becoming Harry's guardian." she said curtly.

He cleared his throat nervously. "Right, I found out about that too."

Minerva pursed her lips and it looked like it was quite a strain on her eyes not to roll them.

"Well I was just wondering what exactly you planned to do about that." Good grief. He needed time to process everything for goodness sakes. And he needed to tell Harry. That was going to be extremely pleasant he was sure.

"Severus." she blinked furiously at him.

"What. Oh, tell him?" Minerva's lips almost disappeared entirely.

"You haven't told him?"

"I just found out." he said flatly.

"This is something that needed to be shared immediately." she said angrily. He opened his mouth to say something sarcastic in response, but no she was right. He should've told Harry. But he had never been anything close to a master of communication.

"I'll do it tonight." he said, turning away from her.

"Good." she said sharply. He waited for her to leave but after a solid minute of pure silence it became clear she wasn't going to.

"What?" he asked, turning back around.

"You best take care of him." she said stiffly, before turning and briskly walking out of the room. Right. At least she hadn't slapped him. So what did he have to do again...Tell Harry, right, right. That was certainly going to be an adventure.

Ginny

Harry hadn't said another word to her since they had gone looking for wrong. She couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed, even though she knew that wasn't fair. Or was it? Was she allowed to be mad at her boyfriend because he would rather talk to his friend than her? She was totally overthinking this. Maybe Harry didn't even want to be her boyfriend in the first place. Maybe that was it! Maybe he wanted to shake her off so he could go-Idiot. She was such a jerk. Harry had just lost a friend, and all she could think about was they're relationship.

"Ginny?" Harry's voice stopped her thoughts from rampaging any further.

"Yes?" she said in as steady of a voice as she could.

"I see Ron, uh talk to you later." he pressed a quick kiss to her cheek before taking off towards a flop of red hair.

"Bye." she said in a voice barely above a whisper. She turned around and stomped back up to the castle flinging the door open and nearly hitting someone in the face.

"Oh, my bad." she said, already heading towards the common room.

"Ms. Weasley." she heard the all too familiar sharp, low voice. Her heart dropped to her stomach.

"Professor. Snape." She put a hand to her throat, her voice had seemed to raise several pitches.

"Have you seen Mr. Potter?" he asked in a low voice.

"Ugh…" Would he know if she was lying? No, of course he wouldn't. She was an excellent liar and there was no way he could know if she lied right to his face.

"Not in a little while." She said, looking over her shoulder as if trying to find Harry.

"Where was the last place you saw him?" he asked her. Shit. She should've known he wasn't just going to let this go.

"Uhm, well-" she broke off hurriedly at the annoyed look on his face. "The library I think." she said hurriedly. He stared at her unblinking before turning and walking away.

"Don't even get a bloody thank you." she muttered under her breath before resuming her stomping to the common room. Should she have even covered for Harry? Maybe Snape had something important to tell him. Well Harry would probably be in an even worse mood if he talked to Snape, not that he was in a mood. Just, distant.

"Ginny?" She turned toward Luna's dreamy voice.

"Luna? Where are you?" Luna was nowhere to be seen in the empty hall.

"In here." Ginny rolled her eyes.

"In where?"

"The suit of armor you're standing next to." Ginny's heart flew up her throat.

"Jeez! Luna! What on earth are you doing there?"

"I didn't want to stand in the hallway by myself, that would be weird."

"Oh, uh right. Can you come out now since I'm here?" she asked, this wasn't weird right? Just normal Luna behavior.

"Obviously." Luna said with a snort. There was a loud clatter before Luna tumbled out of the suit of armor and it crumpled to the floor behind her.

"Hi Ginny." Luna said brightly.

"Hey Luna, uhm were you looking for me?"

"I was looking for any one of you." It took Ginny a few seconds to understand.

"Oh, I'm sorry did Hermione and Draco leave the library too?"

"Yes, but that's not why I was looking for one of you."

"What is it?" Ginny asked hesitantly.

"Snapes looking for Harry." Luna said without blinking. Ginny was slightly taken aback.

"Yeah, I just ran into him he asked for…" Luna was shaking her head.

"Luna?"

"Harry's going to be really mad when Snape finds him." What was this twenty questions?

"Why Luna?"

"Cuz Snape is Harry's guardian." Ginny felt her chest squeeze.

"Oh dear god." she whispered.

"I know." Luna said, her eyes wide.

"Wait wait wait." Ginny said quickly. "You know that Snape is Harry's dad?" Oops, well if Luna hadn't known she sure did now.

"Yeah of course, I tried to get them to bond." Ginny pressed her lips together. She remembered that quite vividly.

"How do you know that Snape is Harry's guardian?"

"Mcgonagall just told me and I figured we should warn Harry before Snape tells him. So where is Harry anyway?"

"Okay hold up. Why did Mcgonagall tell you?" This wasn't making any sense whatsoever.

"I don't know. I went to ask about an assignment I forgot to turn in and she started telling me about it. Apparently she had just talked to him and she doesn't really trust him to be Harry's guardian. She made me promise not to say anything though." Luna blinked slowly. "Shall we go find him now?"

"Right. Okay, let's go find Harry." Ginny said, taking a deep breath.

"Oh also, I got this letter from my dead mum and she told me that you guys had been getting letters from dead people too." Luna told her.

"I'm sorry what." Ginny said flatly. In the complete and utter chaos of the past few weeks she in all honesty, had started to forget about dead people and their letters.

"My mum, whose dead-"

"Right, right, right. Okay yeah that's true but one thing at a time Luna. Harry?" Ginny said, rubbing the back of her hand across her eyes.

"Oh yes, we better warn Harry before Snape tells him."

"Warn me about what?" Okay why couldn't someone announce themselves before talking? Was it honestly that hard?

"Harry." she turned and pressed a hand to his cheek. He shifted away from her towards Ron who was standing next to him. Fine. Fine. Fine.

"Tell him Luna." she said stiffly, trying to hold back from shoving her hands into his chest.

"Snape's looking for you." Luna said dreamily. "Hello Ronald." She waved at him. Ughhhhhhh.

"Because he's your guardian now apparently and we just wanted to warn you before he told you himself. Anyway, we best be going now." Without looking at his face, Ginny grabbed Luna's hand and pulled her away from Harry and Ron.

"Hey Ginny I thought you were Harry's girlfriend." Luna said softly.

"Oh, I am." she said without thinking.

"I suppose I don't know much about relationships." Luna sighed. "But I didn't think you were supposed to ignore each other."

"I am not ignoring Harry! I just told him about Snape and all that." she said quickly.

"Mmmm well it was like you were ignoring him in a different way if you get what I mean."

"Yes, sure. It's just been a long few weeks and we both need a little space I guess." Ginny shrugged, praying Luna was ready to change topics.

"Long weeks of being sick?" Luna asked. Damn. It was way too much work to keep secrets from Luna.

"Okay I'm going to tell you something. But you can't tell anyone, and you can't tell anyone that I told you." Ginny nodded at Luna.

"Of course I won't tell anyone." Luna said brightly.

"Great, so this is a long story, let's head to the library."

Hermione

She was so stupid. She couldn't believe she just pretended that she didn't want to spend time with Draco. She was completely awful. So utterly completely-

"Hermione!" She had been heading to the library to go cry or something or other, but Draco ran up to her and grabbed her arm.

"Hey, I think we should talk or just-" She interrupted him with a kiss. She put her hand to the back of his neck and pulled him in. She felt his hands wander up her back and into her hair. He broke the kiss to tug her into an alcove. Her heart was pounding so fast she felt like it might rocket right out of her chest. She pulled him closer and opened her mouth, she felt his tongue go in and oh-

"Is that Draco and Hermione?" Quickly both of them broke apart, they were both gasping for breath. Hermione felt herself begin to turn red and she looked shocked, at Ginny and Luna both standing there.

A/N its me againnnnn. So what did u think? I rlyyyyyy wanna know cuz its been forever and I miss u guys. Till next month! ;)
