After four months of sending manuscripts and waiting for calls, I finally found an agent to help me publish my book. She specialized in children's books, and three of the top ten children's book of the year authors had her as an agent. This left me feeling encouraged about the chances for my book. She had given me many suggestions for changes I could make to make my tales more relatable to all countries. My first book was about the legend of Tobirama Senju's heroics in the Land of Earth. She suggested I change the character's name and specifics that referenced him since he was a beloved Hokage. She wanted to avoid the possibility of controversy. She also suggested changes to some of the illustrations. I was lucky enough to have saved the drafts I had for the book to add her suggestions. I also spent two whole weekends making the changes and the other two making sure there were no errors in the new manuscripts I was turning in. With this one action, I felt that the rest of my week would be perfect.
I had a good week with the kids at the school and had managed to get a few more pages done in the chapter I was working on. I also had some of my students' assignments to grade that I would be taking with me to the tower. I got to the Ridge Tower at around noon and settled down on my picnic mat. I took out the student's papers and started going through them one by one. I suddenly felt a strange chakra approaching the tower and slowly tucked in my documents and tried to hide behind the door inside the building. I then saw a little kid with pale white skin, white hair, and a white kimono. His eyes were just red, like mine, but he was a bit eerie looking since he had no eyebrows and his eyes were wide. He was approaching the roof. His eyes shifted to my papers for a second, and I realized that he could probably surmise that someone was either there or close by. Sensing the danger, I took out my kunai and prepared myself for an attack. I grabbed the door and slammed it shut to buy myself time, then ran down the stairs as fast as I could. Running on stairs was really hard for me since I ran in open spaces or trees.
I managed to make my way outside when the creepy kid spotted me and tried to attack again. I started making my way towards the trees, but he was faster than me, so he ended up blocking my way. I knew I had no choice but to engage in combat. I tried to hit him using my wood jutsu, but he was fast. I was pretty fast with my Taijutsu, but the creepy kid managed to stab me on my leg and cut me on my stomach. As I lay there bleeding, I saw Sasuke appear next to where I was and fight the kid as I slowly began to lose consciousness. I woke up in the hospital with my three childhood friends around me.
"What happened?" I asked groggily
"You were attacked in the woods four days ago. Sasuke found you and dropped you off at the gate before going off again. You had lost so much blood, so you've been unconscious this whole time", Moegi told me.
"Oh, yeah. I remember this pasty kid attacked me. Did they find him?"
"He was one of Oruchimaru's runaway experiments. There were multiple clones which the Hokage took to the orphanage", Konohamaru said
"Ugh. I feel like crap! Do you know if they found my stuff? I was grading the kids' work right before I was attacked"
"Kazue…you were unconscious for four days. I think it would be understandable that you didn't grade papers", Konohamaru responded to me with a partly amused face.
"They worked so hard on those stories. Besides, I've been hurt worse".
"Well, the Hokage stopped by here to check on you. Sasuke did too", Udon said.
"That's nice of them. Do you know when I can go home?"
"Well, they were able to close up the cut you had on your stomach, but we have to wait for Lady Tsunade to arrive for the one on your leg. That cut was deep. She'll be here by the end of the day today".
I let out a huge sigh. I had always hated extended hospital stays because I wasn't the most patient person. I was used to patching myself up and moving. I got to meet Lady Tsunade that night.
"Hello. You must be Kazue Senjurama. I'm Tsunade. I'm here to heal you".
"Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate it".
"So, Senjurama. You look a lot like my granduncle, Tobirama Senju"
"Well, I can't fully confirm this, but according to the stories in the village my family came from, he is my great-great-grandfather".
"Tobirama never had a wife or children".
"Tobirama spent two years at a village in the Land of Earth when he was still in his youth, right?"
"He went the Land of Earth after one of the Kage Summits to do some diplomatic work. Iwagakure, I believe".
"That's where my clan was from. My great-great-grandmother said Tobirama didn't know she was pregnant when he left. She gave my grandfather the name Senjurama to remind him who he was"
"Interesting. We might be related. Where is the rest of your family? Still in Iwagakure?"
"I'm actually the last Senjurama. Great Shinobi never live long, and I come from a line of great shinobi and kunoichi heroes".
"I'm sorry about that. Are you a kunoichi too?"
"I am, but only because I wanted to teach. I'm the only one left, so I can't let myself die so soon".
"Wise choice. Well, I'll get started on this and get you on your way".
"Thank you so much. I don't really like hospitals, so the sooner I'm out of here, the better".
She healed my leg. I was supposed to let it rest for another day. She invited me for tea while she was in Konoha. She said she was interested in my family's story, so she wanted to hear more from me since I was highly likely part of the Senju Clan.
