I was on top of the tower for about three more hours when Sasuke appeared.
"Hey! You came back to our spot?" he said as he came up behind me. He stood behind me, and I looked up at him. He had on the smirk on his face that he now only put on when he was up to something. He then sat next to me and hugged me, then pulled me closer.
"Yeah. I missed it up here, and I just wanted to meet for old times' sake. I also have a gift for you".
"Ok. You're not in trouble, are you?"
"Can't I just appreciate you without ulterior motives?"
"Hmm…Can I see the gift?" I handed him comic pages I had drawn. I first had a drawing of our first meeting at the tower, the time I told him to find what made him happy, us drinking sake at Naruto's house, then saying he loved me when we were walking him, then me pulling him for our first kiss, fireworks, and balloons. On the next page, I had him and I standing in front of our house, then us hugging Sarada and Sakura, then him hugging Sarada with both his hands, then on the last panel was us standing together in front of our house holding and looking at my belly. I looked at him and waited for a reaction.
"Does this mean what I think it means?"
"What do you think it means?"
"Are we having a baby?"
"Yeah. Are you mad?" He grabbed my face and turned it to him, then kissed me passionately.
"Never in a million years would I ever be mad at you. We're having a baby! When did you find out?"
"Yesterday. Remember when you told me I was ugly and should go see a doctor about it?"
"I didn't say you were ugly. I just said you looked tired. I was just worried about you. Aren't you glad I did?"
"It's the same thing. But I forgive you. I also got this, but I never really see anything in these". I handed him the picture of the ultrasound.
"We can blame Naruto and Hinata for this. They gave us the sake and sent us home together".
"You got pregnant that night?"
"Yeah. The doctor said I'm about six to seven weeks. We slept together that night, then you had the mission to go to for about two weeks and went training with Sarada for a couple of days after that".
"So, this means I got it right on the first night? Well, I always hit my target with my kunai".
"Baka", I said to him as he laughed at his own joke.
"I did want to talk to you about two more things".
"Ok. Let's hear it".
"The first one is that I don't want Oruchimaru anywhere near our baby. You know how obsessed he is, and he's always making clones. I feel like the baby would be a jackpot for him because it's you, and I'm related to the first and second Hokage".
"I didn't really think about that. I'll make sure of it".
"And second, I guess I'm worried about you taking long missions and missing important moments with the baby".
"I can see why you'd be worried about it since I missed almost all of Sarada's life. But I learned from my mistakes on that. I would be letting you and myself down if I repeated the same mistakes, and I'll do everything I can to make sure you never feel like I'm missing out on our baby's life".
"I've seen how hard you're working to make it up to Sarada. I guess I would rather have you be there from the beginning than making it up to the point where you beat yourself up over small mistakes you feel you've made".
"I promise you that I will always be there for the baby and will never make him or her feel the same way Sarada felt her whole childhood", he said as he kissed me again.
"I believe you. So, it is too early to start thinking of names?" I said as I laid my head down on his legs.
"What were you thinking?"
"Well, I thought that if it was a boy, we could go with Itachi. And if it was a girl, Hanako, after my mother".
"I think I'd love that".
"They'd be named after two of the smartest people in our families. Plus, after that kunai joke, I'm taking you off the top five smartest".
"That was an excellent joke. You know you loved it", Sasuke said as he bent down and gave me a quick peck on the lips.
"You know what I just thought of?"
"What?"
"Do we have to move again? I was just getting settled in our little house. And I don't want to kick Sarada out or give up my home office. The next book is almost done, so Shikadai and I are going to be really busy for a bit".
"We have seven months to figure it out. And if we have to move, I'll make sure it's not stressful for you".
"I think it's now sinking in that we're having a baby. I'm going to have a little tiny person that calls me mom", I said as I started crying at the thought of that.
"Hey! Hey! What happened? I thought we were happy about this"
"I am. I just cry when I'm happy. You should know that by now. You should be ready for me to cry a lot. I'm sorry".
"It's ok. I'll be right here if you need anything" he kissed me again.
"How long can you stay?"
"I'll stay with you as long as you want me to".
"I wonder if we can have the baby up here. It's our spot".
"Well, there's only one person who would agree to come up here for the baby".
"You're right. Let's forget that. You should also enjoy the boobs for now coz they'll be out of service once the baby gets here".
"Really? Can I start now?"
"Well, we're not going anywhere".
