Boku no Hero Academia belongs to Kohei Horikoshi and Shonen Jump, the song "Hollow World" belongs to Aimer, and it was inspired by "trust is a dangerous game", by "lalaluisa", on Archive of Our Own. The only thing I own is this story.
Also, in Archive of our Own, there are lots of incredible Suspected Traitor Izuku AU's so, feel free to read them as well! :D
Ochaco didn't know why one of her best friends, Izuku, was accused of being Yuuei's traitor.
Sure, she had read his notes, and while she was a bit scared of the weakness section, when she saw the improvement ones, any fear fully faded away.
She requested to have gloves made of a stronger material to protect her hands, and started to train with a sword to not depend solely on close quarters combat… It really helped her in the Provisional License Exam, where she could cut rocks to then fire them as projectiles.
Sadly… Very few people believed in his innocence.
Tenya supported him, of course, arguing that a traitor wouldn't have cared to save him, to save Katsuki, Kouta and Eri, he would've done the bare minimum, but that's it.
To her surprise, Kouji also believed in him, saying that he could somewhat sense auras thanks to his quirk being related to animals, and he felt that Izuku's aura was pure white, albeit a bit dim and shattered, but it was very pure.
Finally, Denki also supported him, saying that if they were to accuse him, at least they would need more evidence than just some notes.
"Have you cared to read the improvement sections, sensei?" Asked Ochaco quite angrily. "Thanks to him I got a new fighting style and my hands are safe!"
"He also helped me use my speed in better ways to conserve energy, sensei." Added Tenya as support. "He created those weaknesses to help us be stronger and to avoid any bad ending."
"Honestly, that could be a trap." Said Eraserhead in a neutral tone. "I'm just telling you all to be careful, just in case."
"Then, if he's not the traitor, would you accuse someone else as well?" Asked Kyoka, deciding to take Izuku's side. "Will you tear all Yuuei apart just to find that "traitor"? Don't you all think it's maybe a trick the League is doing to destroy us from the inside?"
"As long as that protects Yuuei, I don't really care." Said Eraserhead before leaving the room. "Just remember, if anyone tells him the truth about this, they'll be branded as possible traitors as well."
Ochaco was waiting for more people to jump off to defend Izuku. Probably Shoto, Tsuyu, Eijirou or even Katsuki, but to her surprise… No one else did.
Fourteen people started to believe he was evil, truly evil…
"Have you all gone insane?!" Asked Ochaco as she started to cry. "Are you really going to treat him as a monster? For what, some misunderstanding our selfish teacher can't even try to fix?"
"I agree with Ochaco." Added Tenya in a somewhat displeased tone. "While I can't force you all to think differently, at least I should give some advice. Remember, when Izuku gets proven innocent, because I know he is, those who will betray him shall regret for the rest of their lives abandoning someone who has done nothing more to be kind to all of them…"
He left classes since it was the last period, and soon after that, Ochaco, Kouji, Denki and Kyoka followed him as well, probably to go to one of their rooms to think about what would they do to help him…
They knew Izuku was somewhat sick and was healing in his house, so he would be safe at least until the next day…
After a while, they entered Kyoka's room, to then put some sound nullifiers into the walls, just in case someone would listen to them.
"What can we do?" Asked Kyoka. "I want to tell him the truth, but if we do, we'll be branded like traitors…"
"I would gladly do it." Replied Ochaco. "I don't care if they all hate me, as long as I could protect someone who at least deserves to know why he'll probably get hated."
"Same as I." Added Tenya. "I know is risky and we could be branded with that title, but at least he wouldn't have to face that possible hatred alone, as neither will we… Because a true hero will always help the innocent."
They were right, and they made their choice when they stood up for him so… It's time they fought their first real battle as heroes.
Ochaco took her phone to text Izuku, when she noticed she didn't have signal…
Someone interfered in their communication lines to prevent them helping him…
A message appeared in her phone from an unknown number, saying something very cryptic…
"You all chose his side, so when he gets proved as the traitor, you five will pay the consequences as well."
The round faced girl suddenly started to type her own answer against whoever this person was…
"That will never happen, because he's innocent, and we believe that from the bottom of our hearts."
After closing her phone, the five remaining friends and/or allies of Izuku in Class 1-A started to make a new plan.
They would stay at his side and defend him from any accusation or cruel attitude.
They would tell him as soon as he returned from his house.
They would never turn his back on him.
Kouji Koda was always a shy person, preferring to have animal friends instead of human ones.
Rabbits, cats, dogs, chickens, parrots and so on, they would always provide genuine affection and cuddles, and most of the time, their auras were pure.
In Class 1-A, most people had either white, gray or white-greyish auras as well, but two people truly scared him… One of them was Bakugou Katsuki.
He had a grey aura, and wasn't evil per say, but he could be a very intimidating and malicious person… He always said what he thought, he didn't care about other's thoughts about him, and he constantly presumed he would become the Number One Hero.
Honestly, he had the potential to become good, as he could feel that deep, deep inside him, there was some guilt and regret about something, but it wasn't his place to tell.
Even so… Someone in his class had a very dark aura, one of the darkest he had ever seen.
If someone could've heard his thoughts, they would've thought that person was Fumikage, Mezo or even perhaps Momo under a façade of kindness, but they weren't them.
It was Tooru Hagakure.
Her aura was so dark that he felt nauseous anytime he was near her, so he avoided that girl as much as he could… Not as dark as Shigaraki's but, it was still an aura held by someone evil.
He also felt some fluctuations in Denki's aura… His was a bit in between gray and white, but it was constantly moving, signal that he was feeling insane amounts of grief…
Maybe he was worried about Izuku, as was he…
When he returned, he was welcomed by Ochaco, Tenya and the rest of them, while being given a paper by Ochaco coded into a different language (Spanish being the one he used for his notes), and when he read it… His eyes suddenly went wet, as he started to sob, letting the paper fall into the ground, fading away into the sewers as it was being torn apart by water.
But the message was clear.
"Creen que eres el traidor." (They think you're the traitor).
"They really think I'm a monster…" Said Izuku as he cried, and he was comforted by his two best friends.
Kouji was glad he had them, because if he didn't… That would probably break him faster.
"Come on, we have to go to class…" Said Kyoka after giving Izuku a small piece of mint candy. "I know this will be hard, but as soon as you're proved innocent, everything will be fine again."
He truly hoped it was true… Deep inside, he thought Tooru was the traitor, but he would need to gain enough evidence to clear Izuku's name…
He never understood why people were way more difficult to understand than animals… Maybe it was human nature, after all, and everyone was guilty of that at least once in their lives.
Everyone had been the villain in someone else's story, and everyone had considered another as the villain in their own story.
Kyoka Jiro always liked to speak with her wit and fight for what she believed in… But after she entered into the class, she felt a shiver down to her spine.
Everyone was looking at Izuku with a mixture of either malice, cold stares or disappointed/betrayed looks.
And since they were supporting him, they received that hatred as well.
But she had to take it, they all had to take it, because if she was the one accused, she was sure at least Momo, Denki, Kouji and Izuku would've done everything to prove her innocence.
Thankfully she still had Denki and Kouji (whom she befriended after their final exam), and Ochaco, Tenya and Izuku were really kind…
But she missed Momo.
In class, no one wanted to work with them, so they had to stick into various groups, usually being Izuku, Ochaco and Tenya the first one, and her, Denki and Kouji the second one.
It didn't help that many teachers, except All Might, Recovery Girl and surprisingly, Nedzu, treated Izuku with a mixture of malice, coldness or betrayed looks.
The class was divided in two sides, those who believed in Izuku, and those who didn't believe in him.
She knew something like this would happen, but there's no chance in hell that she would treat someone badly just because of a misunderstanding, as she knew about all the things he did for her class.
It reminded her about a book she read about human nature, something related to "herd mentality" where the only thing needed to destroy a person was to spread a rumor or lie, and most people would believe it without solid proof of its veracity.
Exactly what happened to her friend… They weren't that close before, but she knew he wouldn't betray them after learning that he broke his arms and body to save others, and a traitor would probably be subtler in their actions, like pretending to be normal students, but not appearing or helping someone unless it was seen by others in the process.
For now, she decided that being with Izuku and his friends was the right thing to do, and hoped for the truth to come as soon as possible…
If a single day was hell… How would a week or month end up being?
Sadly, she would find out after a while…
Denki Kaminari was feeling like the worst person in the planet… Because he was the traitor.
Or at least, one of them, the other being Tooru Hagakure…
He didn't want to do this, he never wanted to be a spy, but he had to, otherwise they would kill his family in retribution…
A few months before he was born, his father was dying because of his quirk's drawback, which not only made him act a bit more "funny", but instead, it killed his neurons and other brain cells.
It was like having quirk induced Alzheimer's in a nutshell…
No matter where he went, no treatment could aid him, so they were approached by a mysterious doctor named Tsubasa… Who offered a cure for "free", but they would owe him a favor after the surgery was done.
It was too good to be true.
Eventually, his father was healed… His brain was fully restored, and he didn't turn into "funny mode" after using his electricity, so technically things would be better from that point onward, right?
It didn't, but instead everything went worse.
The doctor said that he was a member of the League of Villains, and after his future child was born, it would have to work as a spy in Yuuei for a year, in order for the payment to be done. After that, the child would be free to do whatever it pleased, either becoming a hero or villain, perhaps even a vigilante.
Otherwise they would kill him and his extended family.
So when he was fourteen, a year before going into Yuuei, they explained his mission.
That's where he met Hagakure, the other traitor, and both of them would fulfill their goal for different reasons.
To save his father and family, and to become visible again…
Hagakure was severely bullied and abused by people in her elementary and middle schools, plus she was ignored by her family because she couldn't become visible on her own like all of them.
So as soon as she graduated, she ran away and updated her documentation as "living alone", while technically she was adopted by the League as a whole.
She was a cold, broken and bitter person, who just wanted to be seen by others again, and she didn't believe in heroes or justice, just in self-preservation. The cheery and kind version of her was just a façade, or maybe, perhaps, remnants of the person she could've been in an alternate world.
"You're a better person than I'll ever be, Kaminari." Said Hagakure in a neutral tone, knowing the harsh truth about her heart. "So, in order for both of us to survive, we need to keep shut and do our job, then we'll be free to do whatever we want to."
He started to regret that conversation after the days were slowly destroying Izuku's will and health… As well as his.
Izuku Midoriya was slowly being destroyed by many people he once called "friends", in order for his and Hagakure's dreams to be fulfilled.
Seeing Tsuyu ignore and avoid Izuku, Shoto glare at him with such coldness that he fell to the floor crying and pleading his innocence, Katsuki saying that he was disappointed on Izuku, Mezo following him with his eyes and ears and so on…
The whispers, the indifference, the sheer hatred almost everyone had for the green haired boy and his few allies, teachers just talking to them for class related reasons and to grade their tests (which thankfully they didn't sabotage), their own lost friendships…
Ochaco lost her friendships with all the girls except Kyoka, Tenya lost his friendships with Tsuyu and Shoto, Kyoka lost Momo, Kouji lost Fumikage and Mezo… And he lost the Bakusquad, as well as Minoru (though he never listened to him when he said his perverted antics were too far, so he was actually glad for that).
One day, a week after the announcement was done, Izuku grabbed them all and asked them to go to his room, before putting the sound nullifiers just in case.
"It's not too late for all of you." Said Izuku in a sad, but resolute tone. "Just say that you were wrong and ask for another chance, and the rest would probably forgive you, plus you'll also be on the teacher's good graces again."
"How can you say that?!" Growled Ochaco. "Didn't you value the sacrifices we made for you?"
"Of course I did!" Argued Izuku. "But all of you lost many people and bonds because of me, and I'm pretty much dragging all of you down so… I thought that if you changed sides, all of you would be far happier."
Ochaco response was a slap to Izuku's cheek, before hugging him and letting her tears flow.
"Izuku…" Said Ochaco, after deciding he'll never call him Deku again. "You really care for us, and I'm glad for that, but you always put yourself in danger for others so… Let us do the same for you."
"I agree, Izuku-kun." Said Tenya while doing his classic hand chop motion. "It would be easy to do that, but I'm going to stay loyal to you to the end."
"Same for me." Said Kouji.
"Count me in too." Said Kyoka.
Denki was somewhat happy… If the truth ever went out, Izuku would at least have four friends to support him and help him heal, but for now… He would try to make his suffering a bit less than before.
"Yeah, I will do so too." He said, while suppressing some guilt induced nausea.
If it wasn't for his family… He would reveal the truth to stop his five friends suffering…
Little did he know that things would get so, so worse that he would have no choice but to do so…
"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH ME!" Growled Shoto when Izuku accidentally passed near him, making him fall to the floor in sheer fear…
Tenya Iida never thought he would see something like that…
"Todoroki." He said, while looking at the dual colored haired teen. "If you ever do that again, I promise retribution; is that clear?!"
The fire and ice quirked teen looked quite thoughtful for a moment, before leaving straight to his room, not even bothering to apologize in the process.
"Come on, Izuku-kun, I will give you something to eat." He said as he used his body as a protective barrier before going to class. In the road, he gave him a small white chocolate bar and a bag of almonds with dried cranberries, plus a bottle of orange juice as well.
"Thank you, Tenya…" Said Izuku as he started to eat quickly.
Tenya knew something was really wrong…
Two weeks had passed since his… Teacher (he didn't know what else to call him without resorting to insults), said those fateful words, and Izuku's body and facial expressions changed a lot.
He stopped eating and working in Foundational Hero Studies (All Might did allow him to make written homework/essays in exchange), he didn't exercise as much as he used to, he had deep eye bags, plus he couldn't focus in class as much as before, and any cold stare/glare made him put his face down until he thought any danger was over...
He never acted like that before… But somehow, it seemed like this situation brought back some defense mechanisms and coping methods he used to have, probably for one reason or another…
After he saw Izuku finish his meal, he called Ochaco to prevent anyone giving Izuku bad looks (he doubted anyone else in the school knew, since Ibara Shiozaki from Class 1-B treated him kindly, but better be safe than sorry).
Surprisingly, Eraserhead allowed them to change seats, since many others felt "uncomfortable" while being around Izuku.
So that left his green haired friend into the seat near the window, in the furthest part of the class, while his allies were surrounding him for support, and everyone else avoided him and the rest of the newly dubbed "Traitorsquad".
After class finished, Katsuki approached Izuku with a neutral expression, albeit it showed some disappointment and anger.
"Had I known you were a traitor before; I would have burned all your notebooks instead of just one." He said, causing Izuku to freeze up so much that he nearly went catatonic…
"What's that supposed to mean, Bakugou?!" Growled Ochaco, who's round face was red because of her sheer hatred against her classmate.
"The nerd had many notebooks in middle school, it seems he doomed many heroes while doing so…" Taunted Katsuki, slowly returning to be his old self.
"Bakugou, if you don't leave right now, there will be consequences…" Said Tenya as a warning.
"Come on Bakubro…" Said Eijirou as he went to take him out of class before things went out of control. "They're not worth it, so let's just leave, okay?"
After the two left in silence, Izuku finally said something before passing out…
"Déjà vu…"
As they both carried Izuku to Recovery Girl's office, where he was left to rest for the rest of the day… The old nurse confessed that she knew what was happening as well.
"This poor boy doesn't deserve such torment…" Said the small lady in a concerned tone. "I wish they would bring Detective Tsukauchi because of his "Lie Detector" Quirk, that would save everyone so much trouble."
"If that is the case then, why that detective hasn't come so far?" Asked Tenya in a neutral, but concerned tone.
"They say he's busy, and that he'll probably be free in at least one or two weeks…" Answered the nurse. "I don't know what else they want from someone these days to prove their loyalty, isn't saving them and breaking the bones for them good enough?"
Once they both left the school nursery, they decided contacting Detective Tsukauchi was the best course of action.
"If we don't do it…" Said Ochaco with fear in her very core. "I don't think Izuku will last much longer…"
"Does his mother know?" Asked Tenya. "She could do something to help us…"
"They're controlling all of our movements Tenya, I don't think we could do so without them knowing…" She said, feeling impotent and disappointed. "Even when he's proved as innocent, I don't think he'll be able to stay in Yuuei, because, facing former friends, classmates and teachers turned into abusers is very difficult…"
In the end, they both decided they'll keep trying to support him, and pray that Recovery Girl or All Might could do something to assist him before it's too late…
Sadly, the damage inflicted upon Izuku would reach an unseen level in the following days… Creating changes that would shift perspectives, destroy lives and show that the world isn't just black and white as most people used to think about.
"Midoriya, please come with me." Said Aizawa while asking for his main suspect.
Ochaco Uraraka knew that they probably wanted to interrogate him… And if they didn't have Detective Tsukauchi with them…
That would be pretty much torture.
To her surprise, Izuku just complied and obeyed.
They told them class was over for the day, and they could take a break and prepare for the news.
"I hope he gets what he deserves…" Said Eijirou with disappointment. "Pretending to be kind and caring isn't manly at all…"
"If the nerd is truly a traitor, then I was right in the way I treated him back in middle school." Said Katsuki, mentioning a context no one there knew about… For now, but after this day, every single foundation they used to have will be completely shattered apart.
"SHUT THE HELL UP, ALL OF YOU!" Growled Ochaco as she couldn't take it anymore. "You're nothing but bullies! You've ignored, tortured and betrayed someone who didn't deserve it!"
"Please, stop doing this…" Said Kouji as he was moved to tears… "Couldn't you at least give him the benefit of the doubt? If there was genuine evidence then fine, but there isn't at all…"
"Would you like to be accused of something you didn't do?" Asked Tenya as he was getting angrier and angrier… "Would you like to be scorned with no chance of defending yourselves at all?!"
"When the truth comes out…" Added Kyoka, sounding very disappointed. "Don't expect him to forgive all of you…"
To Ochaco's surprise, Denki wasn't in class, so she went to check out on him, wondering if he could do something to help them…
After arriving… She found something from a horror movie…
Denki was crying in his room, sobbing, not being able to spell a single word properly, there was a horrible stench coming from his sink, meaning that he probably puked due to the stress…
"They will torture him…" He managed to murmur after calming down somewhat. "And it's all my fault…"
Ochaco froze after listening to that statement… The only way he could mean it is if he was…
"Denki…" She murmured, making him snap of his depressive spiral to then look at her. "Is there something you know that I should as well?"
"Please, close the door and add the nullifiers…" He answered as the round faced girl did as he asked. "Ochaco… I'm one of the traitors…"
In that moment, Ochaco wanted to strangle him… He made Izuku's life a living hell for three weeks!
THREE WEEKS!
But she stopped after he realized that he wasn't the only one…
"Who is the other one?" Asked Ochaco in a somewhat demanding tone.
"Hagakure…" Answered Denki with relief, as weeks of guilt and regret were finally known by someone else…
"Why?" She asked once more. "Why did you wait for so long?"
In that moment… Denki Kaminari broke again.
And he told her everything.
How his father was helped by the League, how he was indebted to them even before his birth, how he needed to work unless he wanted his family to be murdered and so on… Even Hagakure's origin story as well (at least the parts he knew about).
"I don't care what happens to me, Ochaco…" Said Denki in a defeated tone. "Either I'll be sent to Tartarus for life, or the League will kill me instead of my family to sate the debt, so at least I want to do the right thing once. I want to save Izuku."
"Compared to Hagakure..." Said Ochaco, as she hated that girl more than ever, knowing that she named them "Traitorsquad", and spread even more rumors to destroy them… "You're not that bad…"
In the end, they both decided to ask for Recovery Girl's help, as well as All Might, since he ended up being in the room for a checkup.
"THEY DID WHAT?!" The old Symbol of Peace growled as he took his phone to call his friend Naomasa. "I will call him, so please, follow Recovery Girl to the principal's room, Nedzu needs to know about this…"
They didn't even have time to tell Tenya, Kouji and Kyoka… But they needed to be fast, otherwise Hagakure would probably escape and things would be way worse…
When they arrived in Nedzu's room… Denki told him everything he told Ochaco, not withholding any data at all.
"You're a very brave person, mister Kaminari." Said the mammalian director in a concerned tone. "I will inform the teachers and provide a small bus when Detective Tsukauchi arrives, so please feel free to tell your other friends about this."
It took two hours for the honest detective to arrive.
To Ochaco's surprise, her friend's reactions were very different from hers after they knew all the information they needed to understand the context…
Tenya was disappointed in Denki's actions, but thanked him for his honesty as they finally had enough evidence to save Izuku once and for all… He hoped it wasn't too late, as his best friend had probably endured hours of torture at this point…
Kouji said that he was sorry, because he knew Hagakure's aura was very dark, but he never said anything… Also, he mentioned that while Denki did something bad, he at least tried to help Izuku, so he wasn't truly evil…
Kyoka… Was the most hurt about everything, as she ended up losing her first best friend because of this misunderstanding, and now, she was about to lose the other one too…
"I want to choke Hagakure with my jacks…" Said the rocker girl as she clenched her fists in anger. "Denki… While I know why you did this, you caused all five of us suffering for a long time… I don't think I will be able to forgive you, at least not right now…"
"Sorry for not coming earlier kids, Toshinori told me everything." Said Detective Tsukauchi as he entered the room. "Nedzu told Ectoplasm and Cementoss, so the former captured Hagakure, and the latter jailed her into a small concrete prison."
Eventually, the all went into the bus, being Kyoka and Tenya the ones who prevented Hagakure from fleeing, while Denki was comforted by Kouji and Ochaco...
"How much time it will take to go there?" Asked Toshinori. "I told Izuku's mother, and she's preparing his room to keep him safe…"
One hour.
It would take them an entire hour to arrive, meaning that their friend would've been tortured for at least three hours…
"They didn't bring any phone to that place, I tried to call them but there's just no answer…" Said Nedzu as he tried to calm down… Why didn't he realize that earlier? He felt he didn't do enough to prevent a student of his being abused…
"Let's go then, we can't lose time." Said Ochaco as she had a determined look in her eyes. "Let's save Izuku Midoriya."
Thankfully, help was very close right now…
"Please Izuku, you can do this…" Prayed Ochaco as she hoped the best for her best friend… "I promise that I will give you all the love you've deserved in your entire life but please, hold on…"
When they arrived, Detective Tsukauchi growled at Eraserhead and the other detective at charge, saying that they found out whom the real traitors were.
"Izuku…" Said Ochaco as she did everything to not break in front of him, she had to be strong… "We know the truth, we're here to save you…"
The young hero was trembling in the floor and shivering, begging for forgiveness, to have a chance to let him explain, and Ochaco's warm hug gave him enough comfort to calm down a bit…
Tenya brought some tissues to dry his tears and clean his face, while Kyoka and Kouji gave him some candy to regain his strength…
"Please bring Denki Kaminari and Tooru Hagakure to the interrogation room." Asked Detective Tsukauchi." And turn on the cameras so you can all see everything."
While in the room, the dreaded question was finally asked…
"Are you a Yuuei traitor?"
"No..." Answered Izuku brokenly.
"Yes…" Answered Denki filled with remorse.
"No." Answered Tooru in an indifferent tone.
"Izuku and Denki were saying the truth, while Tooru was lying…" Said Tsukauchi as professionally as he could. "I will stay here with Nedzu to further question the traitors, so please help bring Izuku to the bus, he'll surely need it…"
Ochaco and Tenya grabbed him as support, while Kouji and Kyoka stood at their corners, preventing Eraserhead from reaching them…
The Erasure Hero looked completely broken…
Everything he did, every single time he ignored Izuku being verbally abused or treated with coldness, every single time he treated him with contempt, all the time he screamed at him for hours were a misunderstanding…
"If you get near us, Eraserhead, you'll know the true meaning of suffering." Said Toshinori as he stood between their students and his colleague. "You're nothing but an abuser."
That was more than enough to make him fall to the ground in shock, trying to say something, but he couldn't form any words in his mouth…
"Toshinori, wait!" Said Detective Tsukauchi as he brought some documents in a folder. "This is evidence to clear Izuku's name in Yuuei, just in case some people don't believe it."
After thanking him, the five students and their teacher entered the bus once again, where Recovery Girl kissed Izuku to heal some of his injuries and help him sleep to regain energy…
"Thanks for everything you did for him…" Said Toshinori as he started to cry. "How I couldn't notice that he was suffering…"
"Sonny, they didn't tell you because they thought you were biased towards him…" Said the old nurse with a broken expression. "I should've done more, I think I have more blame than you do, my boy."
The rest of the journey back to Yuuei was quite peaceful, as Izuku was sung a soft lullaby by Ochaco, and surrounded by warmth and comfort despite all the hell he endured…
Meanwhile, Toshinori went to the furthest part of the bus to make a call, asking Ectoplasm to tell the rest of the teachers, and to bring Class 1-A into the high school entrance…
He would be the one to show them the truth.
One hour had passed, and a still sleeping Izuku was being carried by Tenya, Ochaco and Kouji to his room, while Kyoka went with All Might to tell everyone the news.
"He's innocent." Said All Might to his students. "The real traitors were Denki Kaminari and Tooru Hagakure, and they're being questioned as we speak."
"I hope you're proud of yourselves…" Said Kyoka in a somber tone. "We told you, didn't we? He was innocent, so congratulations. You bullied, ignored, and gaslighted someone who never deserved it…"
After the new Dekusquad and All Might went to Izuku's room, where his mom was waiting for him, Class 1-A just broke…
Tsuyu fell to her knees and began to cry and scream, Eijirou punched himself in the face as he screamed, Mina was sobbing after realizing how much her actions hurt not only Izuku, but all of his allies… Momo regretted not trusting Kyoka and ignoring her, Mezo regretted stalking Izuku, and so, everyone showed various types of remorse…
But only those of Katsuki Bakugou and Shoto Todoroki were far stronger than anyone would've expected…
Katsuki just started to laugh… It began as a small one, before turning into full blown shrieks of laughter, but not one of happiness or pleasure…
It was a broken laugh of despair.
As Katsuki realized that he became his older self again, his laugh slowly turned into sobs, before falling to the ground and breaking down, knowing that this was the worst thing he ever did to Izuku, or at least the second worse…
He bullied him, he hit him, he burned him, he suicide baited him… And he believed he could be a villain.
There was no way he could be redeemed after everything he has ever done.
Meanwhile… Shoto's reaction was far less extreme.
He just blanked out, murmuring a phrase that he genuinely believed in his heart.
"I'm a monster."
"I'm a monster."
"I'm a monster."
"I'm a monster."
"I'm a monster."
"I'm a monster."
"I'm a monster."
He abused his first friend, the one who believed his story, who showed him that he could be a hero for his own reasons, who fought with him to save Tenya from Stain and Katsuki from the League, who cared so much about him…
And he yelled at him, looked at him with nothing but full blown hatred, and he also betrayed his other friends as well…
The only person he could somewhat call a friend was Tsuyu, but she was also broken…
They failed.
They betrayed an innocent person.
They weren't heroes… They were closer to being villains…
Or were they?
Class 1-A is actually filled with good natured people, but sadly, they chose to listen to their deepest instincts rather than use their logic…
Fear, self-preservation, trust in authority figures, feelings of betrayal and herd mentality…
But just as their world was shattered… They would start healing into a different way.
Some of them could redeem themselves, while others could not, but that didn't change the main result…
They betrayed someone who genuinely cared about them, and now, it was far too late to apologize…
Even after they healed, even after they had deep and complex conversations, nothing would ever be the same again…
Class 1-A was broken, and it was up to them to repair the shards of trust and somewhat restore peace…
Good night everyone, the author here! :D
After reading tons of fics where Izuku was betrayed by Ochaco and Tenya (or one of them), I wanted to make one where the Original Trio stays as close as ever!
Here are the next fics titles and names:
— Broken Night.
Will focus on the consequences of their actions, other's points of view, and how the new Dekusquad and most of the teachers will handle everything.
— Open the Doors.
Will focus on deep conversations between Izuku and many characters, some will be redeemed, while others will not, and they will learn how to open their hearts again despite the pain.
In these fics we'll see who blocked their signals and ended up spying on them, so be prepared xD
Thanks for everything and please take care! :D
